So...here's the backstory on this one.

If you haven't read "Baby Vampire", it's an AU of what happened after the siblings were undaggered and decided to live as a family. Finn is killed off in this series. Kol began to show he had a Little side and Elijah adopted him, considering him his own son. Klaus and Rebekah also treat him like a little boy. Kol does have moments where he's an adult, he just also regresses into a little one at times. He calls Elijah "Daddy/Dad", but still considers Klaus his brother and Rebekah his sister. In this fic, he will also call Hayley "Mommy/Momma/Mom".

If you have read the fic, I am still going to be updating. I've just wanted to write more of Hayley/Elijah and Hayley/Kol, but I know some were not too keen on that. This is just my way of writing both relationships. Also, in this fic, Kol is more adjusted to his life as Elijah's son. He has more freedom, but he's ultimately still treated like a child.

In this installment, Klaus/Caroline will be included, as will Rebekah/Matt. Marcel will come into play, but he's more there for father/son stuff with Klaus than anything else.

I'd encourage you to read "Baby Vampire" if you haven't already, as it'll give some context. However, this could act as a stand alone.

Let me know if you have any questions and as always, please submit prompts!

"You know I'd bring you with me if I could," Elijah tells Hayley.

They stand his arms wrapped around her waist, their foreheads touching. She smiles at him, tracing his cheek with her thumb.

"I know."

"We should pick out a place together."

"It's just not realistic. We don't know if New Orleans is safe," Hayley points out. "No sense dragging Kol there if we're not moving in the long run."

"Something tells me he'd quite enjoy that."

Hayley nods. Kol has made that perfectly clear. In fact, a part of her suspects he wants to go to New Orleans just to find a way to sabotage.

"I'll hold down the fort here," she says. "You guys go handle it."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes. Plus, it'll give us a little more time to bond. I am his mother now after all."

3 years of dating and 10 months of marriage later, Hayley finally adopted Kol. It's something she's wanted for a while and he consented too. They've come a very long way since their first meeting. And still, there's that bit of tension there. They don't have the history or the bond that he does with Elijah. She's still not "mom", even when Kol drops. They'll get there, at some point.

"Break it up love birds," Klaus beckons from behind them. Elijah pulls away, rolling his eyes. The middle brother smirks as he adjusts a duffel over his shoulder. "Caroline and Bekah wait for us in the SUV."

"Relax, Niklaus, with your driving, we'll get there in no time," Elijah quips. "Which is why I'd prefer to drive. Less of a chance of crashing."

"If you drove, it'd take 3 years."

Hayley laughs, shaking her head. "You know, until you two, I never wanted a sibling…and ya know what, I still don't."

Klaus rolls his eyes. "Like it or not, Hayley, you now have a big, expansive family." He glances at Elijah. "Speaking of which, did you say goodbye to Kol yet?"

Elijah shakes his head. "No, I was about to. Where is my little prince?"

"In the den, pouting. I barely got a goodbye hug, and you know I'm the favorite brother."

"Because as of right now, you're his only brother."

"Yes, yes, you really fucked around with our family tree by adopting him, didn't you?" Klaus chuckles, it slowly fading off Elijah's glare. "I'll be in the car."

Hayley watches with amazement as he exits the house.

"He never backs down to anyone, except you."

"And Caroline," Elijah points out. "Let's find our son."

The two head into the living room. Kol's slumped on the couch, playing video games. Elijah clears his throat.

"Little Prince?"

Kol doesn't look up. He keeps his eyes trained on the television. Elijah sighs, tapping his foot.

"Kol Mikaelson, pause the game right now and come over here, please."

The boy grumbles, but presses a button on the controller. He gets up off the couch and sulks over to his parents. Hayley keeps a brave smile, even off his glum appearance.

"We're all heading out now," Elijah says. "Your mother will stay here with you."

"This is stupid," Kol mumbles. "I don't need a babysitter."

"Good thing she's not a babysitter then." Elijah fixes him with a Look. "You shall mind her and be my respectful boy, are we clear?" Kol mumbles something under his breath. "Pardon?"

Kol sighs, nodding. "Yes, Dad."

"Thank you." Elijah's face softens. "We'll only be gone a few days. When I come back, we shall discuss more about the move and what next steps are. I'll call and text you, you can do the same at any time."

Kol shrugs, his lips slowly turning into a pout. Elijah's face just about melts. Hayley smiles as her husband pulls their little boy into his arms for a hug.

"We haven't been apart for more than a night since you were undaggered," Elijah mumbles into Kol's hair. "I'm not sure I'm ready for it."

"Then bring me with you," Kol practically whines. "Why do I have to stay here?"

Elijah sighs, pulling away a little and pushing back his baby's curls. "We've talked about this. At this point, we aren't sure if it's safe yet. I don't like that Bekah is coming, but she's not my little one. You are. I'll be at ease knowing you're here with your mommy."

"Not a baby," Kol grumbles.

"Of course not." Elijah kisses his forehead. "I love you, my sweet little prince."

"I love you too, Daddy.

Elijah gives him a few more kisses before reluctantly pulling away and turning to Hayley. He cups her cheeks and she pecks his lips.

"Be safe, come back to me," she whispers.

Elijah nods. "Always, Darling. I love you."

"I love you."

After a final kiss, Elijah heads out the door. Moments later, the SUV can be heard pulling out of the driveway. Kol watches out the den's entrance, a longing look on his face. Hayley frowns. She isn't sure how to comfort him. He's her son and there's still that barrier.

"Hey, I um, was thinking." Kol looks at her, numbness in his eyes. "I don't feel much like cooking. You want to go to The Grill?"

He shakes his head. "I don't want to go out."

"Alright. Then pizza?"

"Sure. Whatever you want."

Kol walks over to the TV and shuts it off, heading towards the stairs. Hayley frowns.

"You don't want to hang out?"

"I'm gonna talk to some friends. Call me when the food's here."

She sighs, watching him disappear up the stairs.

Hayley heads into Kol's room around 9. He lays on the bed, texting away. They briefly ate dinner together earlier before he disappeared upstairs. Hayley clears her throat. Kol glances up.

"It's time for bed, sweetheart," she says. "Go grab your jammies. I can do your lotion."

Kol frowns. "I'm not tired."

"That may be the case, but it's still time for bed." She walks into the room. "Go on, you need to brush your teeth, too."

Kol rolls his eyes. Hayley arches a brow. There is no way in hell he'd get this much sass with Elijah. While he's toed the line before with his new mother, he usually tones it down.

Their buffer is gone now.

"I saw that," Hayley says, trying to keep her voice calm.

"You were meant to." Kol folds his arms over his chest.

Hayley purses her lips. "Brush your teeth, then lay down for your lotion."

"I don't want my stupid lotion."

Kol jumps off the bed and storms for his ensuite. Hayley grabs his arm. He looks up at her with confusion. She narrows her eyes.

"I know you're upset that your dad and brother have gone," she says, her voice gaining a little kick to it. "But you will not take this attitude with me. Do you understand?"

Kol stares at her for a moment, a bit of shock taking over his face. He quickly shakes it off and pulls away. "Fine."

He stomps over to his wardrobe and grabs some sweats before shaking the ground as he storms into the bathroom. Hayley sighs, running her fingers through her hair.

"This is going to be a long few days," she mumbles to herself.

Hayley sits curled up in the rocking chair as she flips through her novel. A captivating tale of a woman who ran away, but framed her husband for murder. She's often reading crime mysteries. Elijah likes to joke he'll always be on guard around her. As if she was ever capable of hurting him.

A squeak interrupts her book. She glances up and listens closely. Another squeak, followed by wood colliding with each other and footsteps knocking against some glass. Hayley drops her book and grabs the baby monitor from the small table beside her. A few clicks and it roars to life, showing Kol trying to climb out the window. She shuts her eyes, letting out a groan.

"Seriously?"

Straightening her nightgown, Hayley pushes herself up and strides across the hall. She makes it inside, just in time to catch Kol halfway out the window. Hayley coughs, tilting her head. Kol stumbles, luckily falling inside rather than out. He jumps up, brushing off his sweats.

"Hay…Hayley," he stammers. "What are you doing?"

"I think the better question is what are you doing?" She glances at the alarm clock on his nightstand. "It is 11:00. You should be asleep right now."

Kol rolls his eyes. "I couldn't sleep."

"So, you stay in bed, read a book, hug your pillow. You don't sneak out of the house."

"I was headed to meet some friends by the lake."

Hayley shakes her head. "No, absolutely not. You know your father doesn't let you hang out down there."

"Well, he's not here, is he?"

Hayley narrows her eyes. "Your mother still is." Kol scoffs. "You can have your attitude all you want, but you will not sneak out of this house, young man."

"What are you going to do about it?"

Hayley's mouth drops open. She knows Kol can be sassy. On more than one occasion has she watched Elijah pull him over his knee and spank him. She's been instructed to do the same, if she saw fit.

She calmly strides over to the bed and sits down. "Drop your sweats and briefs, then lay over my lap."

Shock takes over Kol's face but he quickly forces the stubbornness to reappear. "You…you can't…" He laughs nervously. "You can't spank me."

"Yes, I absolutely can. I know your father told you that as well. If you break the rules, you get a spanking. And you've broken plenty tonight."

"I…I'm not…you can't!"

"Argue all you want, but it won't change a thing. You have a choice to just get my hand tonight. But if you keep me waiting, I'll take off my slipper."

Kol shakes his head. "You're not going to do this. I'm not…I'm not a baby!"

"You're my baby boy. Whether you want to admit it or not, I'm your mother now. You don't have to call me by that title, but you will respect me as such. I know for a fact you wouldn't pull these stunts with your daddy. So, come here."

Kol shakes his head, standing firmly in place. Hayley raises an eyebrow.

"1…"

"No! You can't make me!"

"2…" Kol shakes his head once more. "Kol, you do not want to see me if I get to 3." He remains firmly planted in his spot. "3."

She stands up and walks over, holding onto his ear. Kol whines the entire way as she drags him along. Once Hayley sits back down, she yanks down his sweats. Her hands go to grab his briefs, but he smacks them away. Hayley growls and he shrinks back a little.

"You will not hit me," she chastises.

"P…please, Hayley," he whimpers. "Not bare."

She ignores him, pulling down his briefs. Kol reluctantly lays over her lap. Hayley wastes no time popping his baby fat covered bottom. Kol yelps in surprise. Becoming a hybrid gave her a good amount of strength. Hayley hasn't spanked anyone seriously in a long time, perhaps not since she left her pack. They don't spare the rod in that bunch either.

"Ahh!" Kol whines. "That stings."

"It's meant to." SMACK! SMACK! "Can you tell me why I'm spanking you?" Hayley smacks her hand against his sit spot.

Kol nearly jumps off her lap, earning him another few swats. "Ow! Because…you're on a power trip!" Hayley lets out a soft chuckle, smacking each cheek twice. "Ah! Ah! Okay, okay! I tried to sneak out!"

SMACK!

SMACK!

SMACK!

Hayley watches his bottom go from pale to bright pink. "And?"

"I…I was disrespectful."

Hayley paddles her hand down each cheek, leaving her mark as she goes. Kol yelps. "You will mind me, young man."

"Yes, yes, I promise! Pleaseeee, ahhh!"

Kol kicks his legs, earning him some swats in between the thighs. After nearly 4 years of being spanked again, he still hasn't learned how to stay still during a thrashing. Hayley takes that as a sign that he's still a little boy.

"No more!" Kol begs as she pauses, her hand reaching down to grab her slipper. "I'll go back to bed!"

"Indeed you will," Hayley says, not unkindly. She holds up her white slipper with the worn sole. Perfect for warming up a little behind. "But you will have a very sore bottom when you do. And hopefully a reminder to mind your mother."

Kol's whining before the slipper even touches his chubby butt. Hayley starts at the top of the left cheek and paddles her way down to the top of the thigh. Kol pounds his fist onto the comforter, crying out. Hayley repeats the process with the right cheek. She smells the tears well up in his eyes.

"Ahhh!"

THWAP!

THWAP!

THWAP!

The tears fall onto her gown. She frowns as she hears the sniffles begin, followed by the howling.

"Ahhh! Ahhh! Pleaseee, I'm sorry," he cries out. "I'll be good!"

Hayley sighs, smacking down the slipper on his sit spot. He cries harder.

"I…I won't do it again, I…please!"

"Just a bit longer. I want this to sink in."

THWAP!

THWAP!

THWAP!

"Owwwie!" Kol kicks his legs. "Mommy!"

Her heart stills as the slipper drops onto the ground. Hayley looks down at the sobbing young man, with a bright red bottom. Tears fall down his face, mixing with his snot. He's wailing, kicking his legs and pounding his fists.

"Mommy, please don't hate me!" Kol begs, his eyes shut.

Hayley gently turns him over so he's sitting on her lap. He whines as his bottom collides with the fabric of her nightgown. Kol is a little taller than her, but she manages to wrap her arms around him and move him down enough so she can cradle him. Hayley grabs some tissues from the nightstand and wipes his face. Kol moves his head, whining.

"Shhh," Hayley soothes. "Let Mommy fix this."

The name slips out so naturally. For so long, it's lived in her heart, but hearing Kol say it out loud is enough for her to do the same.

"You don't want this yucky stuff getting in your mouth," Hayley coos. Kol sniffles, blowing his nose when instructed. "What a good boy."

She puts the tissues on the table and goes back to cradling him. Kol looks up at her with wide, dark brown eyes.

"Don't hate me, Momma," he repeats.

Hayley shakes her head. "I don't hate you," she whispers.

"I haven't been very nice."

"No, but that's what a parent does. Love their pups, even when they haven't been the best behaved." She kisses his nose. "And they cuddle them after a spanking, so they know they're forgiven."

"I…I'm sorry," he whispers.

"I know you are, I know," Hayley pushes back some of his hair. "This is all so new for you, having a real mommy. And then on top of all the changes, especially Daddy being gone."

"I don't want to move," Kol whines. "It's not fair."

Hayley frowns, gently rocking him. He clings to her nightgown. "I know, but you graduated a couple of years ago. People are getting suspicious as to why none of us have aged."

"We can compel them," he whispers, starting to sound very young.

"Not everyone, some are on vervain. Besides, it's time to start fresh. There's a higher vampire population in New Orleans, meaning we can stay there longer," Hayley says, her voice soft. "We can be a family."

Kol sighs, sniffling. "I miss Daddy."

"Oh, my lovebug."

Hayley cuddles him closer, pressing tiny kisses to his face. Kol clings tighter to her.

"Why didn't he bring me with him?"

"He told you, sweet boy, it's just not safe." She rubs his aching bottom, taking some of the pain away. "That's why you have to stay with Momma."

"I want Daddy too."

"We'll be together again soon, precious, I promise." Hayley wipes his remaining tears. "How about I put some lotion on your bottom, then you can come to me and Daddy's bed?"

Kol nods. Hayley keeps him on her lap as she grabs the lavender lotion and softly rubs it into his chubby bottom. She allows some of the pain to stay, wanting him to learn. At the same time, she makes sure every inch is covered.

"There we go, that's a good boy," Hayley mumbles. She pulls up his briefs and sweats, causing a yelp. "None of that now. Let's get my baby boy to bed."

"Pillow," Kol mumbles. "And blankie."

Hayley nods. Elijah explained a long time ago the importance of the ugly afghan and worn pillowcase. The former belonged to Klaus and the latter, Elijah. They bring the young boy comfort, especially when they're not around. She tucks the pillow under his arm and wraps the blanket around him.

She's able to stand, holding him close in her arms as he's carried down the hall to the master suite. Hayley lays back on the bed, sliding Kol down so he lays partially on her chest, his legs wrapped tightly beneath her thighs. She makes sure his blankie remains tucked on him. Hayley runs her fingers through his hair.

"Are you gonna tell Daddy?" Kol mumbles as he sticks his thumb in his mouth.

"I have to. And I have a feeling you'll get some swats with his hand." Kol whines. "But, it won't last very long. Then we can have a nice long chat about moving to New Orleans."

Kol nods, burying his head in her chest. Hayley watches as he sucks his thumb and slowly drifts off to sleep. Her book remains abandoned a few feet away, but she doesn't mind. Watching her new son snooze is far more entertaining than a mystery.
