Chapter ten:
Kaoru paces while Hikaru remains sitting on the bed.
"This wasn't supposed to go this way." Kaoru stresses as his thoughts are clearly making him more and more anxious.
"How could we have known that Kyouya actually had a sibling he liked?" Hikaru points out trying to calm Kaoru's worry. "Besides. It's highly unlikely that he'll find out that it was you. And even if he gets close we can deflect it to whoever ordered the contract." He tells Kaoru which does slow Kaoru's pacing. "Let whoever wanted her dead take the fall. You were just doing what you were being paid for."
Kaoru lets out a breath. "If I knew I would have never let her body be found by him." He shakes himself as if trying to shake off the thoughts of what it must have been for Kyouya. He turns to his brother who comes over placing a hand on his shoulder. He then leans into a hug that the other gives him.
"It'll be okay Kaoru." Hikaru gently shushes. "No matter what happens we'll go through this together."
Kaoru takes a breath before he gives a nod of his head. "Okay Hikaru." He agrees and can feel Hikaru's relief at his agreement. "Should we tell mom and dad about all of this?"
"Not yet. If Kyouya starts to get too close we can talk to them. However I doubt that we will end up needing to bring them into this." Hikaru informs his brother who nods his head glad to hear it.
The two remain there in their shared room hugging one another.
Hikaru silently vows that if Kyouya finds out that it was Kaoru then he will take the fall as well. He doesn't care what it'll end up costing him, he'll do it for his brother.
Elsewhere...
Tamaki is staying over with Kyouya for tonight at the mansion where the body was found.
The two are sitting in the living room while the two detectives are in the room that the body was in.
Tamaki looks to Kyouya who is looking down at a picture he has on his phone. He can see the picture of Kyouya and his sister. He reaches over placing a gentle hand on his shoulder. He lets his hand slide to being around Kyouya's shoulders as the other leans into him. "We'll find out who did this. I promise you Mommy." He tries to assure the other who nods softly to him. He nuzzles the top of Kyouyas head as the two of them remain close together.
A few moments later the detectives head for the living room so Tamaki lets Kyouya pull away. They enter to find the two sitting normally and that they turn to the two of them.
The first detective clears his throat. "Well there truly is no evidence left behind. Just as we thought when we first started the investigation. No fingerprints, no hairs that don't belong to anyone who was here at the time, and no other signs of evidence. Just a dead body that was clearly not killed in the location it was found in." He reports looking at Kyouyas glasses since the other has his eyes hidden by the lights glare. "It'll be very difficult to be able to identify the killer as not even any cameras caught sight of the killer."
Kyouya nods his head letting out an almost silent breath. "Thank you. We will continue this investigation until I have a culprit. I already have a plan which may be able to help solve some of this mystery. Though I would like you two to continue the investigation on your end. I will update you with information when I receive it. You won't need to worry about me. I won't be confronting anyone dangerous. I just will be checking something online which may be able to help. And once I find the information I'll leave it to you instead of going after it myself." He adds knowing that he will be told that he shouldn't put himself in danger to help in solving the case; that it is better for the detectives to do the dangers of this job instead since it's their job.
It's that the two detectives nod their heads clearly glad that Kyouya knows not to put himself in danger.
Tamaki however finds himself more concerned than the detectives. He really does hope that Kyouya does as he says he will. He however has a bad feeling that if it is Kyouyas parents that orchestrated this then there's no avoiding a confrontation. He just hopes that if that does happen then it will turn out alright without something bad happening to Kyouya. He wouldn't be able to stand it if something did end up happening to the other. He stays quiet about it knowing how angry Kyouya will get after what he did to hide that.
The two detectives leave and Kyouya turns to look to Tamaki.
Tamaki gives Kyouya a smile despite his worry. His smile falls as he comes to realize that Kyouya sees right through it.
"You don't need to worry about me so much." Kyouya tries to soothe Tamakis worry. "I promise daddy. I won't go confronting anyone. Even if my parents are involved. Well talk before I do any sort of thing. It is better to be cautious about it all rather than to just go out and do it. You'll know if there is any reason that they may need confrontation. But it'll be done in the best and safest ways. I won't just do it right away. No matter how angry I might be."
Tamaki takes a breath telling himself to trust the mother of the group that they're both a part of. "Alright mommy." He shares a small nuzzle with the other. "I do trust you. And no matter what happens I'll be there with you through it all."
"Thank you daddy." Kyouya smiles at Tamaki. You know. There's something I gotta admit. I like being like your wife. With our friends like our children." He very slightly blushes though Tamaki makes up for it with a heavier blush.
"Oh Kyouya. You make every day fantastic. And I hope that we can have even more wonderful days together." Tamaki responds before the two of them share a loving kiss.
Ready to face whatever will happen next together.
