On an empty beach.
Marshall, who was wearing a black shirt, black pants and black boots took a deep breath as he watched the waves go back and forth with a mug of coffee in his hands. Sitting crosslegged on the sand felt oddly comfortable in this situation.
"Man, the waves are really beautiful today." He muttered with a smile as refreshing gusts of wind hit his face.
It was indeed a beautiful sight and it seemed as if it would last forever. But just as Marshall closed his eyes to relax, he heard a scream coming from somewhere.
"Hmm?" Marshall sprung up upon hearing the scream. He looked around to see where it was coming from before his eyes landed on a figure in the water.
It was...Ice King? Why was he in the ocean? Why was he drowning? He can fly or freeze the water. Marshall quickly flew towards Ice King in confusion and spoke.
"Simon, what are you doing here?" He asked calmly as he lifted the ice wizard out of the water with magic.
"I was gonna ask if you wanted to hang out, but then you started flooding the place with water!" Exclaimed Ice King with a frown.
Marshall blinked. "Simon, this is a beach." He replied calmly before gesturing towards the water and the beach. "See? Water, sand, rocks, seashell, etc. This is a beach. You went into the ocean."
Ice King paused before looking around himself in confusion. This made Marshall raise a brow and scratch his head curiously. He was still wondering how Ice King got here and why he was drowning.
"Huh, I guess I must've stumbled here on accident. Oh well." Said Ice King scratching his head before shrugging. "Hey, wanna have a beach party?"
Marshall cringed upon hearing that. He had been avoiding Ice King for the longest time. He didn't want to start messing with the man now. Before Marshall could tell Ice King to leave, he already started made it to the shore yelling "beach party" repeatedly.
Marshall blinked at Ice King in surprise as he flew towards him. "Was he always that fast?" He asked raising a brow. Something weird was going on.
"So, what should we do first for our beach party?" Asked Ice King cheerfully, putting his hands on his sides.
Marshall paused before sighing. "Okay, we can have one beach party." He said with a smile.
Suddenly, from nowhere in particular Marshall heard some giggling. The wizard king shook his head believing it to simply be his imagination and ignored it completely. After all, he had a mystery to solve and a beach party to attend.

Later.
"Hey, Ice King, wanna play hand ball?" Asked Marshall cheerfully which caused Ice King to beam and laugh happily.
"Of course! Just let me change into my sports outfit." He replied cheerfully as he picked up the bottom of his robe. "Who knows, maybe a hot lady will come by and see us sweatin'."
Before Ice King could do anything that would violate Marshall's eyes for the rest of eternity, the wizard king snapped his fingers and Ice King's blue robe were spontaneously replaced by a nice sports outfit.
"Oh, whaddya know. Sports clothes magically appearing from thin air!" Said Ice King inspecting his new clothes happily. "Now where's your outfit?"
"My body only starts sweating at really high temps. Plus, I can cool down with magic." Replied Marshall cheerfully. "I'm good."
"It can't be that high. When's the last time you started sweatin'?" Asked Ice King curiously with a grin and Marshall looked highly uncomfortable with the question. "C'mon, you can tell me. We're friends!"
Marshall paused before deciding that Ice King wasn't one to abuse information. "I accidentally tripped into a really hot fire pit in the nightosphere. I could've flown back up, but I didn't for some reason and it was really...embarrassing." He said awkwardly before he heard giggling again. "Did you hear that?"
"Of course! So is that nightosphere place like a fancy diner to find hot ladies?" Asked Ice King cheerfully. "Those fire pits sound really good right about now."
Once again, echoes of giggling made their way into Marshall's ears. The wizard king frowned before turning to Ice King and realizing what the old man had just said.
"No. Definitely don't go there. It's bad, very bad. And most ladies there are ugly!" Exclaimed Marshall in slight panic. "Remind me to put a tracker on you just in case you don't listen to me."
"Sweet!" Exclaimed Ice King cheerfully. "More bro time!"
Just as Marshall was about to speak, there it was again. The giggling. "Simon, please tell me you're also hearing this weird giggling that's coming from nowhere." He pleaded.
"You mean the one coming from over there?" Asked Ice King pointing at a seemingly normal rock next to the sea.
Marshall curiously stared at the rock which prompted more mysterious giggling. "A rock?" He muttered curiously before shrugging. "Not the weirdest thing out there."
Completely dismissing the laughing rock as harmless, Marshall turned back to Ice King and created a net and a ball from thin air. It was time to play.
"Okay, Ice King, show me what you got." Said Marshat before he launched the ball over the net and towards Ice King.
Marshall expected this to be a point for him, but in a twist Ice King moved with abnormal speed and scored against Marshall with ease. Surprise was clear on his face as the giggling started again.
"Woo!" Exclaimed Ice King cheerfully as he celebrated his point. "Fire in the hole!"
"Okay...that confirms it. Something weird is going on with Simon. Gotta find out what it is before he gets hurt." Muttered Marshall in a serious tone. "Hey, Simon. Let's go for a few more rounds."
Ice King cheered happily before he and Marshall continued the game. Marshall decided to give it an honest, nonmagical attempt as he scanned Ice King for any magical influences and was promptly humiliated. Not only did he find nothing on what was going on with Simon, he couldn't score a single time against Ice King. The old man was simply moving too fast.
Marshall sat down on the beach and held his face in his hands. "Ex-greatest hero of Ooo losing to a wrinkly old man in a competition of fitness. This is humiliating." He muttered dejectedly before he heard giggling once again. "Har har, laugh it up, you jerk."
"Oh, sorry." Said Ice King dejectedly before curling into a ball on the sand. "I can cover myself in sand if you want."
Marshall pinched the bridge of his nose. "Simon, no. I wasn't talking to you." He said tiredly before turning to the old man. "Sorry, that was mean. Maybe you're just this fast and I'm the one who's weird. I mean, I HAVE been avoiding you for a while."
Ice King noticed Marshall moping and decided to approach the wizard king. "Does that mean we won't finish the game?" He asked.
"I envy you sometimes." Muttered Marshall calmly. "You don't think about all the ways you can mess up someone's life and in the end you don't. I wanted to stay away from you so I wouldn't hurt you on accident or something. But I guess fate's gonna do what fate's gonna do."
"I don't know what you're talking about, but this has been a lot of fun." Said Ice King cheerfully. "We should do this every day."
"No." Deadpanned Marshall. "But that still leaves the mystery of how you can move so fast."
"I've been working out." Replied Ice King cheerfully.
Marshall snorted as he picked up a pebble. "No, you goof. You moved like you were warping space or something." He said cheerfully as he threw the pebble into the sea only for it to bounce on thin air before going into the sea. "What the-"
"Cool! Are we throwing rocks at walls now?" Asked Ice King cheerfully.
"Walls?! Are we in some kind of magic prison?!" Exclaimed Marshall in shock before turning to the sky with a deep frown. Without hesitation, the wizard king fired a blast of energy that somehow broke the sky to reveal unknown darkness. "Simon, we're escaping this place."
Marshall grabbed Ice King and flew straight into the void at full speed before his head slammed into something hard leading him to fall back down to the beach as he finally...woke up.

At Marshall's home.
The wizard king opened his eyes with a groan to the sight of his roof blown to smithereens and Ice King wearing sports clothes next to him. He was also wearing a black t shirt and grey shorts.
He quickly heard giggling and turning to its source, he saw OC and Marcy laughing at his current situation. "I was dreaming and blew my roof up, didn't I?" He said covering his face in embarrassment which only increased Marceline's laughter.
Marshall sighed before turning to Ice King who looked very happy with the time they spent together. The wizard king smiled at this. Perhaps this wasn't his worst moment.
Marshall stood up and approached Marceline before giving her a hug. "I forgive you for laughing at me while I was sleep magicking." He said with a smile.
"Aww, you're making me feel bad for doing this." Replied Marceline with a soft smile before she froze. "Wait- is that your plan? To make me feel guilty?"
Marshall smiled. "Hehe! Feel the guilt of making fun of a nice person!" He said happily.
"No, no. NOOOO!" Exclaimed Marceline into the sky at the fact that her fun has ended, which led to her brother giggling.
In the end, it was a happy day. And everyone ignored the fact that Ice King broke into Marshall's house and that OC filmed the whole thing to watch on holidays.
