Forgot to post this up but here is the finale of episode 1
The Dark Among Us Episode 1 Jade Finale
Spider's Nest Brawl
Mephiles walks into the Spider's Nest bar and looked around. It defiantly matched the seedy area outside being a bit run down. He sees a dartboard and a pool table. He also sees there were only two people in the place. One was Red Hood who sat at the bar counter.
The other was a black haired woman in a red dress who came in from the back and goes to be behind the bar, Mephiles knew this was Contessa a spider based Fable but she was in her glammer look right now. They both see Mephiles stand in the entry way. Contessa asked annoyed "What do you want sheriff?"
Mephiles could tell from there reaction both were on edge so best to play it cool and said "I was in the neighbourhood. Thought I'd pop in and say 'hello.'"
"Well freaking hello to you too. Now you can damn well get out of here." Contessa told him.
"Listen, I'm not even going to ask where he is now, okay?" Mephiles said approaching the counter figuring they know why he is here. "I just want to know the last time he was here. That's all."
"Who?" Contessa said looking away and at Red Hood.
"I'm being nice. So, try again." Mephiles told her.
"If you're talking about Qrow, he hasn't been here for a few weeks." Contessa said sighing. She then sees Red Hood shaking his head and Mephiles sees that "No….maybe…I don't know. But yeah, he hasn't been here for a while if he's been here at all….which….I….I don't know."
Mephiles could tell both these two were hiding something so he says"I'd just like some help, then I'll be out of here."
"Well I'd be willing to help you out of here. Would that help?" Contessa said.
Mephiles decided to have a look around he looks at the dart board and sees tally marks for an on going game the players were RH, C and QB. He know QB were Qrows first and last name initials and asked "You guys playing right now?"
"No" The Woman said shaking her head.
Mephiles looks at it again and said "'C' well that'd be you, Contessa. So, who's Q-B?"
"No idea." Contessa said simply
"Because it's also the initials for the name…" Mephiles begain to say.
"Qrow Branwin. Yeah, I get it." Contessa said annoyed.
Mephiles then see a cigarette machine and sees that it had Solaris brand in it. He felt like he could get some more but remembered he didn't have any money on him, so he had to pass. He then looks at the jar on the counter and looks at them puzzled.
"Let me solve the mystery for you." Contessa said to him "They're picked eggs."
"Oh, I know what they are….I'm just trying to figure out why anyone would eat this." Mephiles told her. Contessa shrugs and nod, he had a point. He continues walking and finds a matchbook for the bar and picks it up "A lot of these walk out the door?"
"Yeah, it's called advertisting." Contessa told him.
Mephiles chuckles and asked setting it down "You get a refund?"
"F you. The word's getting out." Cotessa told him.
Mephiles shrugs and looks to Red Hood who has remained quiet and asked "Come on. Have you seen Qrow around?"
"I don't know who that is." Red Hood just told him.
"Red eyes, shabby dressed, can turn into a bird, kind of a jerk. Hard to miss. You sure you don't know him?" Mephiles asked him. He then asked "How about I buy you a drink?"
"How about you keep your drink and get lost?" Red Hood said back to him.
Mephiles then looks to see several pictures up around the bar of patrons and one he sees was unmistakably Qrow. He asked Contessa "He a regular?"
"I don't know who you're talking about." Contessa said shrugging.
"The one with the black hair and red eyes." Mephiles said annoyed.
"Never seen him." Contessa told him.
Mephiles knew they were hiding something and looks at a half empty drink glass on the counter and asked "Who's is that?"
"Someone who left." Contessa told him.
"If they left, why didn't you dump it?" Mephiles asked her.
"If you want a cleaner place, feel free to get the hell out of here." Red Hood said to Mephiles rudely.
"I'm sensing a very hostile tone from you." Mephiles said to him. "Don't deny it. I'm good at picking up on this stuff." He goes and sits on a bar stool next to Red Hood.
"Lot of stools in this place." Red Hood said to him.
"If I sit over there, I'm going to have to yell to talk to you." Mephiles explained "And I don't like raising my voice unless I really have to."
Contessa approaches Mephiles and asked "You gonna order something or you just here to bother my customers." Mephiles looks behind him at the mostly empty bar and back at her "You know what I mean."
Mephiles looks at the selection and then said, "Give me a McDuck Gold."
"You want a lime?" Contessa asked him.
"Sure." Mephiles said simply.
"I think they have some at the bar down the street." Contessa told him. Hearing that Red Hood chuckles
"Think that's funny?" Mephiles asked him
"Yep, I think it's freaking hilarious" Red Hood chuckled sipping his drink through his mask.
"It was alright" Mephiles said with a shrug. He sighs "Come on guys, I don't want to be here, and you don't want me here. The sooner you answer my questions honestly, the sooner I'll be out of your…"
He stops when he heard the flush of a toilet from the bathroom which got Contessa worried. They listen as they hear someone whistle as they wash there hands and then approach the door.
The out comes the person Mephiles was looking for, Qrow a bandage on the back of his head from where Harbinger was embedded. He said "Contessa, you're out of paper towels in the…." He stops when he faces them and sees Mephiles. The two stare at each other and Qrow sighs and goes and sits down at the stool and sips the drink there.
"Just going to sit down without saying hello?" Mephiles said to his long-time nemesis.
"You and me have been going at it for hundreds of years…. I'm through fighting." Qrow said simply and sips his drink.
"Well, Qrow, that makes two of us." Mephiles said sighing, he really wanted to bury this feud for a while now so was happy Qrow was willing to as well. He then said to Red Hood "You're in luck. I've decided to switch seats." He gets up to go to Qrow but Red Hood stops him with his hand. "I just want to talk. This doesn't have to go like this."
Red Hood turns to face him for the first time and Mephiles could tell he was smirking behind the mask and said, "Maybe he don't want to talk to you."
"Why don't we let him tell me that?" Mephiles suggested.
"It's okay Red." Qrow told him. Red Hood growls like a dinosaur but let's Mephiles go.
Mephiles goes and takes a seat next to Qrow and he said "You know, it's funny. Only a minute ago no one seemed to know who you were."
"Yeah…well…" Qrow said sighing "Everyone know you. Mephiles the Dark, one half of the wrathful fire demi-god Solaris." He chuckles "Now I'm the bad guy and you're Sheriff. What kind of dumb world is that, huh?"
"Come on Qrow, why'd you do it? No BS." Mephiles asked him.
"Same reason people do a lot of awful things. For love." Qrow said "I watched over her for weeks. Making sure she was safe keeping my distance so my sembalence doesn't affect her. I wasn't even meant to be there. But then that one night when I decided to finally approach her…there you are…doing your usual mess ups. You were just at the wrong place at the wrong time. I wasn't there to save the day, "
Mephiles then asked, "So you were just stalking her?"
"It wasn't creepy at all; I would do anything for one of my nieces." Qrow said to him.
"Niece? Wait, what are you talking about?" Mephiles asked confused.
"Ruby Rose…The volcano of Soleanna….I was there looking out for her…when I reached the mountain top you were already there fighting her." Qrow explained "I only stepped in to save the day because I knew you were too much for her to handle on her own. But ended up with a bunch of people thinking I'm something more then I am. I played along with it."
Qrow sips his drink "But I also lied when I was asked if I was the only one of my family who made it out, Ruby was there too…but the events of the exodus traumatized her, so I had a witch erase her memory to help her cope but so she can have a simple life, now she thinks she's a mundy, I hear she is graduating the police academy so happy for her."
Mephiles was surprised at these revalations but he decided to correct the mis-communication asking "Did you kill Jade?"
"What? Jade? Who's that?" Qrow asked confused.
"The girl you were beating on this morning." Mephiles told him.
"No, no, no, no. I was here. I swear" Qrow said eyes widen in shock.
"It doesn't look good when a girl you were smacking around shows up dead hours later." Mephiles explained.
"She's dead? Mephiles listen…. I'm a jerk of a drunk, okay….I know that." Qrow said to him "I hit that girl; I did. I shouldn't have… I didn't kill her. You believe me, right? They're going to string me up, Mephiles. Like you said, it looks very bad… it's really bad. But I didn't do it."
Red Hood finishes his drink and said "He was here. That's the goddamn truth, Sheriff."
"You see? Mephiles please. You can't. They'll throw me down the Abyss Pit." Qrow told him "That's what they'll do and I didn't do it. You're smart enough know that." He sees Red Hood finish a shot glass and stands up to approach them and Qrow gets up "Hey! Stop. This isn't what I want."
"Shut the heck up Qrow. This isn't just about you, it's about this dumb lap demon." Red Hood said annoyed "Only comes sniffing around this part of town when the rich folks in the Emeralds need a shakedown. Ain't that right, Mephiles."
"It's not like that. There are problems with the way things go, I get it. But that's got nothing to do with what's happening right now." Mephiles told him.
Red Hood growls again and said "Contessa's sister goes missing and no one gives any care about her. Paperwork, waiting rooms, and that stupid feline Blaze the Cat looking past me, then ushering me out the damn door."
Mephiles gets up and glares at Red Hood due to what he said about Blaze and he said getting angry "I wouldn't call her that. It's happened before and it didn't end well for the last guy who did say it."
Red Hood gives a smirking look and said "I didn't realize you were the lap demon for the dumb cat." Mephiles resisted the urge to hit him but Red Hood fiddles with the mask.
Just then a green glow happens and Mephiles sees him transform into his true form "Oh figures, you never went my Jason Todd just Red Hood so you just made your glamor be his anti-hero alterego."
Indeed Red Hood was now a large black dinosaur with a yellow stripe a hyprid of an Indomius Rex and a Velociraptor known as Indoraptor. He cracks his neck and long arms and looks down right at Mephiles and said smirking "Should have walked out of here when you had the chance."
"Come on. You're scaring the lady" Mephiles told him
"Don't worry about me" Cotessa said as another green glow happens as she assumes her true form. Her upper body was a pale blue-skinned human woman with long blue hair and red eyes where the spider head should be as her lower half was a the spider body and legs and has scorpion claws covered in long arm-length red gloves instead of hands.
With Mephiles attention distracted Red Hood moves and smacks him into the bar, Qrow moving away. Mephiles recovers and goes to use a flaggen as a weapon but Contessa stops him. Red Hood grabs Mephiles and slams him into the ceiling breaking the ceiling fan. Mephiles grabs it and breaks it off to smack the dinosaur in the head. Red Hood just slams Mephiles into the floor stunning him then picks him up and hurls him across the room into the wall.
Mephiles groans but gets up and sees Red Hood grab the pool table and pushes it towards him, he jumps up onto it and then punchs the dinosaur in the face but it barely phases him as he just smacks him to the exit door.
Mephiles again recovers in time to dodge a chair and table hurled at him and hides behind the payphone. As Red Hood rips it off the wall to get at him while laughing, Mephiles grabs the nearby coat rack and stabs it into his head. Red Hood bracks it in half knocking the Hedgehog down before removing it. Red Hood then grabs Mephiles by the leg and begins swinging him around like a ragdoll into the walls and floor and Mephiles seemingly knocked unconscious.
Red Hood smirks and begins dragging him to the bar so they can discuss what to do with him. Qrow looks concerned, he knew this wasn't over as Mephiles was holding back but he fears that he won't be now. Scrapping can be heard and Contessa looks and her eyes widen in shock and concern.
Red Hood stumbles as he found himself unable to keep going and looks back and sees what Contessa saw, Mephiles's hands were now no long gloves but crystal clawswhich scrapede along the floorboards. He sees mephiles begin to get up and grabs him and slams throws him to the wall near Qrow.
Qrow gulps seeing Mephiles face, his eyes were red with Emerald eyes and his muzzle was blue and nose was gone. He had semi-transformed into his cryslized form. He growls and glares at Red Hood. "Right, you want fight you overgrown lizard! Fine then give me your best shot!"
Red Hood roars confident that he could take him and charges only for Mephiles to move and mack him down which was a lot stronger then last one as it phases him, Mephiles jumps over him and as Red Hood moves to stand he gets kicked hard in the gut.
Red Hood in anger quickly recovers and charges grabbing Mephiles and barrels to the other end of the room with him. Mephiles uses his claws to stab Red Hood in the shoulder arm joint making the Indoraptor yell in pain dropping him and crash into the wall.
"And here I thought raptors were smart fighters but you act like a dumb brute." Mephiles taunts and jumps onto his back as he recovers and as he struggles Mephiles claws him in the neck and on his left (Red Hood's POV) eye.
Red hood slams Mephiles into a wall near the pool cues, Mephiles grabs one of the brocken ones and stabs it into the dinosaur's shoulders making him yelp and fall down, Mephiles kicks him into the pool table and seeing one of the legs kicks him in kneecap breaking the leg. Red Hood roars in pain
"He's had enough!" Qrow calls out to Mephiles.
Mephiles looks at Qrow then back at Red Hood panting in pain, right arm resting on the pool table, it would be so easy to give this guy a permanent lesson, just stab into the joint again and rip it off, but no…that would be too much, he understood his frustration. He walks away while Red Hood whimpers and crumbles to the floor cluching his sore arm.
However, Mephiles had a problem, he lost control and he needed to calm down or he will do something he regrets. He approaches the bar where Contessa stood there stunned in shock and nervousness as she just watched Mephiles easily take out one of her friends and strongest patron with ease in this form.
"Whiskey." Mephiles said to her trying to keep calm. Contessa nods and grabs a small glass and a bottle of whiskey, but he grabs the glass and tosses it away and told her "Double." Contessa nods not arguing and gets a double glass and pours the drink. He takes it and downs the glass, and he begins to transform back to how he was before the fight. Now calm he decides to pay for the drink but as he reaches into his bag he again remembers he had no money "Damn it…"
"It's not like you were going to pay for it anyway." Contessa said shrugging it off.
"I will, next paycheck I eventually get I will come and pay it off" Mephiles said and then looks to see Qrow sneaking to the back exit and said to him sternly "Don't even think about it."
Qrow looks at Red Hood still on the floor with the pool cue sticking out of him and asked "Is this the type of treatment I can expect if I let you take me in?"
"Hey, I was trying to avoid this, your friend over there was the one who started it." Mephiles told him. Qrow couldn't say anything to deny that.
Just then the front door opens getting everyone's attention. They all see entering his eyes focused on sorting a rapper on a lollipop was Para, still with blood on his clothes who said "Okay, I've got a hundred bucks for the first person that can tell me something about a girl named…" He stops after putting the lollipop in his mouth and sees Red Hood on the floor in pain and whimpering to his shock. Para then turns to the bar and his eyes widen as he sees standing there was Mephiles who turns to glare at him "Damn it!"
Para moves a bit to the exit as Mephiles apporches. Just then Mephiles looks and sees Qrow fleeing for the back exit to flee stumbling as he does and Para does the same heading for the front. Mephiles couldn't believe it, he was only have time to catch one of them not both. He then chooses to apprehend Para.
He rushes and slams him into the door and begins to cuff his hands. Para struggling said "God damn it! That's not necessary."
Mephiles hears the back door open and knew Qrow got away and said "Darmn it…"
"He's the one you want not me!" Para told him.
"Your brother won't be saving you this time." Mephiles said to him firmly and leads him out "Come on, you're under arrest."
"I told you. I didn't do it." Para complained as they left the Spider's Nest
"If that's true, you got nothing to worry about." Mephiles said to him.
Mephiles with the cuffed Para walk the street back to the Emeralds, had to be careful along the way to avoid any suspicions from Mundys. As they near the corner to it they see red flashing lights and look to see a mundy police presence formed around the entrance to the Emeralds.
Mephiles wanting to check on it moves and cuffs Para to a nearby streetlight and told him "Do anything stupid and I'll throw you down the Abyss Pit myself."
Mephiles then heads towards it to see what was going on. He sees Adam aka The Beast rush over and two officers stop him from entering and seeing coast seemingly clear goes under the yellow police tape and goes to head inside, but a cop spots him,
As Mephiles approaches he sees one cop come out looking like he was going to throw up which made him more concerned. He enters while the officer who spotted him tells another who runs to him but Mephiles makes it to the crowd of cops by the steps to the entrance.
Mephiles worried looks at what they were looking at and was shocked as there…. lying on the steps just like Jade's head was…was the severed head of Blaze.
