Chapter 7: Prophecy
Barriss and Luminara would be sitting cross legged across from one another meditating while having their eyes closed in the temple garden in front of the Uneti Tree. Barriss unable to meditate because what she was thinking of. As it was about her dream and what happened before with Anakin on Xxorn. She would open one eye to check to see if Luminara was looking but quickly shut her eye as she was afraid her master saw it. "Do you have something to ask me?" Luminara would say as she continued meditating. Barriss would open her eyes in surprise as she didn't think her Master would ask her this. "Oh. Oh no sorry. Nothing!" Barriss would say as she tried to straighten up while looking at her master. "Are you sure about that?" Luminara would ask while opening her eyes but see that Barriss was looking down and rubbing her arms like she was nervous. "Are you okay Barriss?" Luminara would then ask as she saw there was something wrong with Barriss. Then Barriss would look back up at her master then she said "I had a dream and there were Jedi getting married. It looked like a long time ago. That's why I asked about if Jedi can love." But then looking back down as she was afraid of her master's response. "What happened in the Dream?" Luminara would ask looking concerned. Barriss looking afraid has she didn't want to tell the full dream but then say, "I couldn't hear anything, but it was a wedding ceremony and looked like it was in the past." Luminara would look shocked but then reply, "Well that must be from the old Republic and the old Jedi Order were they aloud it but ended up falling apart because of it." Barriss would then get annoyed at the comment while asking, "what if they were right?" Luminara would then give a frown as she said, "It was changed for a reason." As she got up from her sitting position. Barriss sitting annoyed even more would get up and ask, "Why was it Changed?" As then Luminara would put a stop to the conversation by stating "Barriss that is enough! We will talk about this another time!" as she turned away towards the temple hallway and start walking as she would then say, "The lesson is done for the day, I will see you tomorrow." Barriss would get up looking mad as she didn't like how her master just brushed off her question. But then would head back to her room as she was hoping that she would be able to talk to Anakin soon about her dream that he was in.
Anakin would leave the Chancellor's apartment as he entered the ship and walked towards the cockpit as he then sat in the co pilot's seat. Obi Wan would look over at Anakin as he was just sitting in the pilot's seat beside Anakin. But Obi Wan wouldn't say anything there as he knows Anakin didn't want to talk as he felt Anakin's feelings. Obi Wan would just start up the engine as he got the ship ready to depart to the Jedi Temple. "How was your meeting with the Chancellor?" Obi Wan would finally say trying to break the silence as they were flying towards the Jedi Temple. Anakin would look over at his master as he then said, "nothing much just about stuff." Obi Wan would look intrigued about Anakin's answer while asking "What stuff were you talking about?" Then Anakin would look towards the front looking out the window while saying "It was about Tan Yuster and how he and his master are missing." Obi Wan would be shocked that Palpatine knew this. "I heard that too." Obi Wan would say while looking back towards the traffic of the Coruscant skyline. "Is anyone going to be investigating it?" Anakin would then ask while looking back at Obi Wan. "Not that I hear of. Not yet. But I am sure the Council will start one soon, I believe." Obi Wan would say while continuing concentrating on the traffic. "Oh, I see… There was something else…" Anakin would say with concern then would look away to the side window of the ship. "Oh, what is it?" Obi Wan would ask as he was interested with what Anakin just said. "It's about Padme and how she has now become the Senator of Naboo." Anakin would say while continuing to look out the side window as he started to see a glimpse of the Jedi Temple Towers. "She is a Senator now? Well, that's good to hear for her!" Obi Wan would say with excitement while turning the ship into the Jedi Temple Hangar. "Ya, I guess..." Anakin would then say as he looked forward to watching the ship land in the Hangar. As the Ship landed in the Hangar Bay, Obi Wan would ask "So have you heard anything from her since Naboo?" With Anakin starting to leave the ship to see Barriss to talk about the dream and not really caring about the conversation so he would say "No, I haven't heard anything from her." Both would leave the ship with Obi Wan then stopping Anakin he would say "I have something to ask you about Xxorn?" But then get interrupted by Yoda asking, "Master Kenobi a moment please?"
As Obi Wan and Anakin were leaving the shuttle they were interrupted by Master Yoda and Aayla Secura as he said what he said. "Oh, Yes Master. What is it?" Obi Wan would say as they got off the landing platform. "Speak to You. Question I need to ask you?" Yoda would say while walking towards Obi Wan and Anakin's position. "Okay Master." Obi Wan would say then look over at Anakin while saying "Anakin, you can make your leave. We will talk later." Anakin looking happy because he could go straight to Barriss would say "Okay Master I will take my leave." As he then bowed to his Master and then to Yoda and Aayla while all nodded to Anakin before he left for Barriss's quarters.
Obi Wan would then look over to ask Yoda something "What do you need to talk about Master?" Yoda looking over at Aayla then over to Obi Wan before saying "Yes, Kenobi questions I have." Obi Wan would look at both Yoda and Aayla as he looked confused with the conversation with saying "What are the questions you want to ask me?" Yoda would hit the ground with his walking stick while saying "Your Master Qui Gon, I want to ask about." Obi Wan would get shocked by the reply as he asked, "What about my Master, did you want to ask me about?" Yoda would look sterner while asking "Did Qui Gon ever talk to you about the Chosen One prophecy?" Obi Wan Looking more confused would reply "No. Not that I remember. Not until he met Anakin. Why?" Yoda now looking frustrated at Obi Wan's answer as he looked over at Aayla while Aayla would ask Obi Wan "Do you remember him saying anything about the Prophecy after meeting Skywalker?" Obi Wan would start thinking about Qui Gon and the prophecy for a while before finally answering "No not much only that Anakin was the Chosen One and that he would bring balance to the force." Both Yoda and Aayla would look at each other in disappointment as Yoda uttered out "And what about the Balancer?" Obi Wan would then get shocked at the question and think about that weird experience he had on the ship with Qui Gon's voice but then would say "WH-What?!" Yoda would continue "Have you heard anything about a Balancer in the Prophecy?" Obi Wan taken by the questions then would stutter out "The Voice?" to himself but loud enough for Yoda and Aayla to hear. "The Voice?" both would ask Obi Wan as he looked shocked that they heard him. Obi Wan would then sigh and say, "I don't know if it was my mind playing games with me, but I heard a voice speak to me wasn't sure what it was, but the voice was Qui Gon's voice." Both Yoda and Aayla would look at each other then again back at Obi Wan. "So, he has come to you as well." Yoda then saying while looking down in thought. Obi Wan now shocked at what Yoda just said he would then say, "What do you mean Master Yoda?" Yoda would look out during the hangar bay entrance by saying "Hear him, Aayla and I have heard him too." Obi Wan still shocked about what he continued said by replying "What are you talking about?" Yoda now looking back at Obi Wan before saying "Talk to me and Aayla Qui Gon has. Told us about the balancer he as." Obi Wan would continue "How is that possible?" Yoda looking back to Aayla then back to Obi Wan then saying "This I don't know. But its message I feel is important." Obi Wan then looking flustered at both Yoda and Aayla about what was just said before saying "What shall we do about this?" Yoda turning to head towards the hallways out of the hangar while saying "Wait we will. Until more we can learn about it. Silence we will be until we figure this out." Both Aayla and Obi Wan would start to follow Yoda while saying "Yes Master!"
Anakin would be walking down the Hallways towards his room to drop off a few things before heading to Barriss's quarters. Walking Anakin had everything on his mind as he walked, he would accidentally bump into someone, but Anakin would almost fall on his back but was caught. "Whhooaa are you okay there Padawan Skywalker?" Anakin looking up as the soft voice said those words. "Master Shaak Ti!" Anakin would say with both surprise and embarrassment. Master Shaak Ti had almost become a motherly figure to Anakin as other than dueling lessons, Shaak Ti's meditation lessons were his favorite. When he was around her, he always thought about how she was much like his mother as she acted the same way. Shaak Ti would look at Anakin more closely as she examined his body posture seeing there was something wrong much like a mother noticing it in her child. "What's wrong my dear?" Shaak Ti would say with a soft tone of concern. Anakin afraid to tell her as he knew he could never lie to her but would look up and say to Shaak Ti "It's the mission, something happened." She would put her hands on his shoulders while asking "What happened and are you okay?" Much like a mother concerned about her child. "It was a slave planet and I felt so much anger!" Anakin would cry out in tears while he continued "And I couldn't do anything about it!" Shaak Ti now pulling Anakin in as she held him to calm him down as she was fully aware of his slave past. As she was good friends with Qui Gon, although she wasn't his padawan he did teach her things when she was a padawan and Qui Gon a knight, that her actual master didn't and through that she would grow a closer relationship with him always questioning the council on not letting Qui Gon have a Council seat. In fact, the day Qui Gon brought Anakin to the jedi temple and denied Qui Gon the chance to train the chosen one. He would go and see Shaak Ti as he would ask her to please help with Anakin's training as if she could act more like his adopted mother towards Anakin. Shaak Ti would get shocked by the request, but Qui Gon would explain about Anakin's mother and how close their relationship was and that he needed one similar in the temple with Shaak Ti understanding and believing in Qui Gon. So, without other jedi knowing and always when they were alone, she would treat Anakin like her adoptive son. "Its okay my dear, I know your pain." Shaak Ti would then say as she held Anakin closer as she sensed no one was around as she gave off force ora like a mother love towards Anakin. As he felt her force ora Anakin mind would go to peaceful state as it reminded him of when his mother hugged him all those years ago. He would accidently stutter out "Thank you Mother… oh no sorry I mean thank you Master!" as he then gets out of Shaak Ti's embrace with embarrassment. Shaak Ti would smirk at the remark as it actually felt good to hear Anakin call her that, because she would actually love him like her son and knew Anakin saw his mother in her. But would say while giggling to lighting the mood "Its okay son." As she paused to see that Anakin was smiling from it, she would then continue with more concern "But is that everything that happened?" Anakin would then look down at the spot on his chest where the spark came from as he then looked back up at Shaak Ti trying to figure out how to explain it to her but just started letting everything out. Him seeing the Zygerrian whipping the woman, him choking the Zygerrian with the force then going blank as a spark of lightning admitted from his chest. Shaak Ti would get shocked by Anakin's story but saying while hugging Anakin once again "Don't worry we will figure this out." Anakin closing his eyes as he hugged her as well like a child to a parent while saying with a soft tone "Thank You Mom." With Shaak Ti smiling as she said in the same soft tone "Your welcome son." Before releasing him then continuing "Now go get some sleep you look tired we will talk more tomorrow" as she started waving off Anakin before continuing down the hallways the opposite way Anakin was going. Anakin then saying while continuing to his room. "Oh, okay talk to you tomorrow, Master."
Anakin would continue down the hallway until he finally got to his quarters. As he stood in front of his door, he thought about everything he was going to say to Barriss getting ready he would open his door and get shocked at what he saw. As Barriss was sitting down on Anakin's bed like she was waiting for him. She would then look up at Anakin has she then jumped out of her spot in excitement into Anakin's arms. "Anakin! Your back! How was your first mission?" Barriss would then say as she released Anakin from the hug. Anakin unable to figure out what's going on would say "Barriss what are you doing here?" Barriss would then get afraid at Anakin's response as she looked away from him but then saying, "Well I heard you were coming back today and thought I would wait in your room for you, but I am sorry if I made a mistake." Anakin would then grab Barriss's arms as he then said "Its okay Barriss. I didn't mean it to sound like that. Its just I have a lot on my mind." Barriss would then look back at Anakin as he continued "I was actually going to head to your quarters to see you right after I dropped off my stuff. You just surprised me Barriss that's all." Barriss now happier would then ask her question again "Oh Okay, that's a relief… But sorry to ask again but how was your first mission?" Anakin then looking away from Barriss as he put the things from his tunic and pouches on his nightstand before turning back to Barriss "Boring" he muttered out. Barriss getting stunned by the reply but then would see Anakin laughing at her response then laughing at it herself. Anakin would then continue after laughing a bit "It was a diplomatic mission so just a lot of meetings. But…" Anakin would then look down at the spot on his chest as Barriss noticed she would say "But what?" Anakin looking back up at Barriss would continue "But it was on a slave planet. I saw people being sold like an item in a shop. Slaves being whipped…" Anakin would then stop as he looked back down at where the spark came from. Barriss would then touch Anakin's chest where the spark came from and also touch the same spot on her chest as she then said, "I know I heard everything and somehow I felt your pain." She would then take her hands off and put them behind her back as she then looks somewhat confused by everything, but she would continue "I know what happened at the market, but I don't understand the…" But Barriss would stop as she didn't know how to explain the spark in her chest during the altercation. Anakin standing frozen as he was astonished by Barriss's responses to what he just told her. Anakin then wanting to tell her about what happen as he told her then about how the Zygerrian shot at him, but pointing at his chest where the spark of lightning admitted from his chest as Barriss would then become stunned at what was just told to her by Anakin. "Anakin I also felt a spark admitted from the same spot!" Barriss would say as she pointed at the spot on Anakin's chest but would continue saying "But I would pass out right after as I had no energy after that." Anakin would then sit down flustered as he was trying to take everything in but then say, "I lost my energy shortly after I got back to the ship, and it felt weird." Barriss would then sit beside Anakin on his bed while saying "Yes it was the same for me." And before they both knew it both were hold each others' hands while staring at each other.
Both would continue to look at each other as Anakin then says, "After I passed out though I had a weird dream, and you were in it Barriss." Barriss would get shocked at that Anakin had a dream about her as she also did as she said, "Same with me Anakin!" Anakin releasing Barriss's hand as he leaned back at her response to what he just said as he then asked, "Was it dark and you were standing on some kind of liquid floor that led to ring doorways?" Barriss would also lean back has she was also now shocked ever more at what Anakin just asked but then she would say, "Yes and the rings shows us visions of different things?" Anakin eyes widen at the realization that Barriss had that same dream as him, "So did you have the same dream as me?" Anakin would then say as he looks down and felt the area where the arm grabbed him. Barriss would go and reach out touch the hand were Anakin was touching the spot and then would say, "Yes and I remember what happened." Anakin then would look back up into Barriss's eyes while saying in the sad tone, "That hand and voice… I felt scared and if it wasn't for you I would of…" Anakin would stop as he then looked back down as he was trying to figure out how to say but then get interrupted by Barriss saying "Don't worry I felt the same Anakin. It's alright." While she took her other hand a put it on Anakin's cheek while continuing "And you mustn't worry about this. We will figure this out together." Anakin using his other hand to put it on Barriss's hand that was on Anakin's cheek while saying "Yes And thank you Barriss… For being you." Barriss would then say, "Your Welcome and thank you for being you Anakin." As she started tearing up, Anakin would notice and then take his hand off Barriss hand that was on his cheek and put it on Barriss's cheek as she was crying, he would then wipe the tears coming from her eyes. Both would then just stare into each others' eyes as they would stare in affliction for each other. They would both then go closer to kiss each other as they continued looking at each other slowly as they didn't even realize what they were doing only that they wanted to do it. But right before they're lips touch before would realize what they were about to do and both back away and put they're arms back to their sides, looking away as they looked embarrassed with both saying while they were doing it "Sorry!" As they both sat there in silents, Anakin would break it by asking Bariss "Have you heard about Tan?" Barriss then broke out of her thoughts would say stunned "No… Why?" Anakin looking back at Barriss saying to her "Oh… Well apparently, him and his master have been reported missing." Barriss would say "Oh no!" as she remembered the last time, she saw Tan.
It was right before Tan went on his mission. Barriss would be sitting on her bed in her room as she was waiting for Anakin to finish his meditation training with Shaak Ti. She would then hear a knock on her door as she gets excited thinking Anakin was finished but opening her door, she would see Tan standing on the other side. "Oh. Wait why are you here?" Barriss would say as she looked at Tan in confusion. Tan would turn at Barriss as he was looking down the hallway when she answered the door but then asking, "OH Barriss can I step in please I need something to ask you?" Barriss would then step aside as she said begrudgingly not wanting to talk to him, "I guess so…" Tan would walk in while saying "Thank you" as he walked to the back of the room he would continue "Barriss you look beautiful today." Barriss would look confused and some what disgusted as he always treated Barriss like he hated her as she then said "What!?" Tan would walk closer to Barriss while saying, "Sorry about what I have done. For, it was because I love you that's why I did it." As he then finally got right in front of Barriss. Barriss then looking away as she didn't feel the same way for him then saying "Tan, oh… I don't feel the same. Jedi aren't supposed to love anyways." Tan would look down at the ground in embarrassment but then look back up as he then said, "But I do love you I want you to be mine." Barriss would move out of Tan's way while saying "Well I don't like you and especially how you treated me do you really think I would fall for someone like you!" Tan would be some what angered by Barriss's response then would say "I did it because I was afraid of my feelings." Barriss turning her back to Tan as she just wanted him to leave by saying "Even if you didn't do those things to me. I couldn't ever forgive you for what you have done to Anakin!" Tan would then grab Barriss's arm while saying "That's why isn't it? The Stupid Chosen One! I will show you that I am the better one." As his grip tightened on Barriss's arm. She would cringe in pain as she then grabbed Tan's arm with her free hand trying to pull it off while saying, "Let go of me Tan!" As she struggled Tan would throw her arm down as he then burst out of Barriss's room angerly stating "I will show you all that I am better than him. I will show you I am the Great One!" With Barriss rubbing her arm as Tan left the room.
Barriss would come out of her memory with Anakin asking, "Barriss! Are you ok?" as Anakin was staring at her the whole time, Barriss shaking her head as she replied "Oh Yes, I was just remembering something… But don't worry I am okay." Anakin looking at her Barriss a little harder as he then asked, "Are you sure?" Barriss would then get up from the bed to make it to the door as she didn't want to tell Anakin about what happened between her and Tan. She would then say as Anakin got up as well "I am sure just tired I should leave now before it gets too late." Anakin would nod as he didn't want to persist and say "Oh Okay. Well see you tomorrow and call me through the commlink if you need to talk." As he pulled out the commlink from his pouch with Barriss looking back smiling saying, "Yes see you tomorrow and I definitely will be calling you need your lullaby." With both smiling and giggling while Barriss was leaving the room. With Anakin then frowning as the door shut, he would then walk back over to his bed as he laid down on it. He started thinking about everything as it finally got to what the chancellor said about Padme. He would then get frustrated as he couldn't remember what she looked like anymore but would put it out of his mind as he was just waiting for Barriss to call. But then would get startled by a strong feeling of the force as a voice said, "They together will bring balance to the force the chosen one and the balancer only together they will bring balance to the force." As the voice then disappeared along with the feeling in the force. But Anakin would call out in confusion "Master Qui Gon?"
There is going to be a time jump in the next Chapter. Just letting you all know but you will see by how much next Monday. But leave a review and please let me know if there are any artist here that can draw a few pictures.
