Chapter 6: Beginning of the Journey
(Seven Years Later)
In the middle of the ocean a short fat boy with pink hair was looking on as his pirate crew, or rather the crew of pirates that enslaved him, was attacking an innocent ship filled with innocent people.
He clenched his fists at this, but said
"There's nothing I can do" before unclenching his fists and dropping his head in disappointment.
He could hear all the horrible things the pirates were telling all the innocent people that were in the ship.
"Give me all your money!"
"Move or die!"
"You're all now Alvida's bitches!"
These were just a few of the many harsh things the pirates were telling the innocent people who the boy knew, they were going to kill.
'If only I was stronger' the boy thought before clenching his fists again, this time till he broke skin.
As the battle was going on, the boy noticed one big barrel just floating around the water near his ship.
He grabbed the nearest rope, threw it at the barrel, and after successfully wrapping the rope around it, he began pulling it in.
After pulling the barrel up to the railing he tried picking it up, but realized that it was extremely heavy.
"Damn" the boy gasped out as he used all his strnegth to pick the barrel up and place it down on the ship.
After placing the barrel down on the ship, he brushed a bead of sweat to the side, laid it on its side, and began rolling it through the ship.
(Inside the Ship)
The young boy was in the kitchen of the ship and was just laying the barrel back up again when what sounded like footsteps came from behind him fast.
"Outta the way" some big fat guy said before pushing the boy to the side.
"Oww!" The boy groaned in pain from having been pushed so forcefully to the side.
"What's in here chore-boy?" The fat guy asked him.
"I don't know, I think it's booze."
"Ya hear that you two?" The fat guy said before two other pirates came in through the door of the kitchen.
"Yeah" one of the two chimed in.
"We got us a lot of beer to drink" the last one added.
"Wait, but that was for Lady Alvida, if she finds out she'll kill us all!" The boy freaked out.
The fat guy who pushed him to the side brought out a big knife, held it in front of the pink-haired boy, and said
"She'll never find out because you won't tell her, so there won't be any problems... right?"
"Uh... y-y-yeah" the boy stammered.
"Good" the fat guy said before getting ready to open the barrel. "You two ready for what feels like a whole tank's worth of booze?"
"Hell yeah!" The other two shouted.
The fat guy then brought his knife up and began bringing it down.
Mere seconds before it could touch the wood of the barrel though, two big fists came out from inside of the barrel, one landed on the fat guy's chin, and knocked the fat guy clean out.
"I... slept... so... great!" Came the voice of a teenage boy wearing a straw hat.
"What the hell?!" The two other pirates whispered in shock at seeing the unconscious body of their friend laying down on the ground.
The pink-haired boy just looked at the teenage boy in shock at how easily he dispatched the fat guy and then asked him
"Who are you?"
"Oh, I'm-" the boy began to say before two loud voices coming from behind interrupted him.
"You're dead kid!" The two remaining pirates in the ship shouted before running at the teenage boy with hammers.
"Oh no you don't" said two other voices from inside the barrel before two big hands came out and choked the life out of the other two pirates there.
"Wh-what the hell?!" The two pirates choked out loudly.
"You're not killing my little brother" said the voices from inside the barrel before tightening their hold on heir throats till eventually, the two pirates' faces turned blue and were dropped to the ground shortly afterwards.
Seconds after the unconscious bodies of the pirates were tossed to the ground, the young boy who was introducing himself heard one of the two voices inside the barrel say
"Luffy, could you get out already, it's really tight in here?"
"Sure thing Sabo" the boy, now revealed to be Luffy said before jumping out of the barrel.
Seconds after he jumped off the barrel, Ace and Sabo came out from inside the same barrel too.
"Damn, this barrel is so tight" Ace said before beginning to stretch.
"Well yeah, we're both 6 feet tall and 180 lbs, not to mention Luffy was also in there too" Sabo commented while stretching too.
"Who are you three?" The pink-haired boy asked.
"My name is Monkey D Luffy and I'm gonna become the King of the Pirates" Luffy announced.
"I'm his big brother, Portgas D Ace" Ace said.
"And I'm his other big brother, Sabo" Sabo added.
"We're the Hat Brothers" Luffy said.
(Age of Brothers-Luffy: 14, Ace and Sabo:17)
"The Hat Brothers, really Luffy, that's the best you got?" Ace asked mockingly.
"Well we're all wearing our own hats aren't we?" Luffy asked back.
"I guess" Ace said with a yawn while fixing his hat.
"Well we should split up and scavenge this ship for material" Sabo commented.
"Okay, I'll look for food in this kitchen" Luffy said in reply.
"I'm gonna look for some booze" Ace replied.
"I'll look for another boat" Sabo added.
After they discussed what they were gonna get, they split up in search for what they said they'd get.
(Other Ship)
"Get back!" One of the Alvida Pirates shouted before slashing some innocent man in the chest with their sword.
"Stay away!" Another shouted before firing three bullets and killing three women.
"Runnnn!" Every innocent person in the ship shouted as they all tried to evacuate the ship as fast as possible.
In this ship, as the Alvida Pirates were reeking havoc, a certain girl with orange hair was making her way through the ship.
'Shit, shit, shit' she inwardly repeated as she continued quietly making her way outta there, careful not to be spotted by any of the Alvida Pirates.
If one was to look closely, or look at all really, they'd see that the girl was holding a large duffel bag over her shoulder, and inside the duffel bag was of course lots and lots of gold and silver coins.
She was trying her hardest to make it outta there without being spotted by any of the pirates or innocent people, although she was certainly more worried about being spotted and attacked by the pirates than the innocent people since the civilians were all freaking out, not paying attention, and unarmed.
'Come on, come on, come on, think' she thought as she began looking around at the stampede of people and trying to think of a way to get out while also not notifying anyone that she was leaving, or that she was even there to begin with. As she was thinking about this though, she heard the sounds of water splashing and ran up to one of the edges of the ship to see numerous small boats being used by the innocent people to evacuate and escape the raid on the ship. 'I need a boat' she realized before heading to where the boats were located.
As the orange-haired girl was making her way to the mini boats in an attempt to flee the scene, a certain ugly, fat, and miserable woman was reeking havoc on the ship.
"Bow down to your new queen, or die!" She yelled before bringing out a huge club and using it to swat away and of course kill three of the innocent passengers on the ship.
"Run for your liv-!" Someone tried to shout before the woman whacked him with the club and killed him instantly.
"Shut up!" She shouted after killing the man and whacking his now dead corpse into the sea.
As this was happening a family which comprised of a mother, father, and son were currently trying to sneak their way past the fat woman.
"Come on, don't freak out you two, we're almost there" the father whispered to his wife and son.
They were just a couple feet away from exiting the ship via one of its boats, that was until the fat woman saw them and angrily asked them
"Where do you three think you're going!?"
"Shit, you two run, I'll hold her off!" The father shouted before diving in to defend his family.
"Honey/Tou-Chan!" The mother and son shouted in alarm.
The man attempted to run at and strike the woman, but was quickly halted by a strike to the stomach from the woman's club which instantly incapacitated him.
"Oomph!" He wheezed in pain as he fell to his knees and clutched onto his stomach.
The fat woman relished in the sound the man's bones made when she shattered them with her club and watched as the man dropped to his knees, clutched his stomach, and started breathing heavily upon impact.
The man was weak, but she admired his spirit, so she asked him
"What's your name?"
The man didn't wanna answer, but realized that he still needed to buy as much time for his wife and son to get away as possible, so he answered.
"Yuto."
"Well, Yuto, you have spirit, I like that" the fat woman said. "How about you marry me and rule the seas alongside me? I could use a strong man like you."
"Go to hell you fat pig" Yuto said.
"Why you-?!" The woman said before cranking her club up again.
Yuto knew this was the end, so he looked at his family one last time, and mouthed out
"I love you" to the two of them.
As soon as those words left his mouth though, the fat lady brought her club down on the man's skull, causing blood to gash everywhere.
"Yuto/Tou-Chan!" Shouted the wife and son of Yuto as they saw the pirate pull her club up from the now bloody floor and put it over her shoulder.
"Quit your whining unless you two wanna die too" the pirate threatened.
The mother and son instantly shivered in fear and the son held onto his mom for dear life.
"Wh-who even are you?" The son hesitantly asked.
"My name is Alvida, the leader of the group of pirates that are raiding this pathetic excuse for a ship and we're not gonna stop till everyone is dead and all the loot in this ship is ours" the woman, now revealed to be Alvida explained.
"Please, let us go, we won't notify any of the marines or navy, please" the mother pleaded. "Or at least let my son go?"
Alvida just laughed evilly at the mother's request but after a while the laughter died down and she said
"As I said, we don't plan on stopping till we have everything we need and till everyone in this ship is dead, so you can just forget about mercy."
"W-w-why?" The mother stammered.
"Because it's fun that way" Alvida said before readying her club again.
"No!" Came an unexpected shout that caught the mother and Alvida off-guard. The shout came from the mother's son, who got up and shielded his mom from the club that Alvida was threatening to kill her with. "I won't let you hurt my mom!"
The two women were taken aback by this, but Alvida especially. Usually any grown man or woman would tremble in fear of her and would never even dare to defy her, the only exception was the father she just killed and now also the son of that father.
The boy in question just couldn't stand there and do nothing when his mom was in danger. His father gave up his own life to protect the two of them and it was for that reason that the boy had the courage to do the same, despite the fact that he was terrified beyond belief.
Alvida could see the fear in the boy, he was shivering consistently, sweating profusely, and had tears beginning to fall from his eyes.
This actually intrigued her, to see a boy that young put his own life on the line for his mother's sake really touched her, so much so that she put her club down, looked the kid in the eyes, and said
"I like your guts kid, what's your name?"
"H-H-Haru" the boy stammered in reply.
"I'll tell you what Haru, I'll let your mom go if you come with me, I could use a strong kid like you to steal and manipulate other people" Alvida proposed.
This is when the mother finally spoke up.
"No, not my son, leave him alone!" She yelled before running at and punching the woman in the face.
"Oomph!" Alvida breathed out as the punch made her take multiple steps back and actually hurt quite a bit. "You bitch" she muttered angrily before putting her club down and walking over to the mother in a serious manner.
The mother got ready and threw another punch, Alvida let it hit her, but this time, the punch didn't even affect her. She tried again and again, but after the third punch, Alvida just grabbed her by the wrist and kneed her in the stomach.
"Oomph" she wheezed out before falling to her knees and clutching her stomach in pain.
Alvida looked at the now downed form of the hurt mother and told her
"The only reason your punch hurt so much the first time was because you caught me off-guard, that's not happening again" she then turned to look at the boy, grabbed onto his mother's hair by her scalp, and told him "
"New deal kid, you join me and I don't kill your mom myself."
The mother through half-lidded eyes made one final plead to her son.
"Haru -gasp- please -gasp- don't do it" she said outta breath.
The boy however, didn't listen, as he was too worried for his mother's own safety to worry about his own.
So with his head hung low, he agreed.
"Okay."
"Alright" Alvida said before letting go of his mom. "Come with me" she added before turning her back and walking away.
The boy turned to look at his mom one last time, said
"I love you" with tears in his eyes, and then walked away.
"Haru, nooo!" The mother shouted in sorrow as her son continued walking further and further away from her.
(With Luffy)
Back on Alvida's ship, Luffy was currently looking through the kitchen to find any and all kinds of food for the trip.
He was currently looking through barrels and was having a hard time finding any meat.
'Damn, still no meat' Luffy thought in disappointment. 'Just mushrooms and vegetables.'
"Hey you?" Said a voice from behind Luffy.
"Hmm?" Luffy said in confusion before turning his head around and seeing the pink-haired boy from before.
"What are you doing?" The boy asked.
"Looking for meat, what are you doing?"
"I'm trying not to die here because if Alvida finds out that you and your brothers broke into here and I didn't even try to stop you she'd kill me!"
"You seem scared" Luffy pointed out. "Who are you and why are you here?"
"My name is Koby and I'm not here because I wanna be" he said. "I'm here because two years ago, when I was twelve those pirates led by some hideous woman known as Alvida abducted me from my hometown and forced me to work every single day with the only incentive being that they'll keep me alive!"
"Well then if you're so scared of her and don't wanna serve her anymore, why don't you just leave the ship Koby?"
"If I do that she'll kill me!" Koby shouted in panic. "Just thinking about that scares me! I mean I don't wanna die, I'm too young, there's so much I haven't done in my life, and if I lose everything just for fighting b-!" He couldn't finish that last part though because Luffy punched him on top of his head. "Oww, why'd you do that!?"
"Because I felt like it" Luffy replied.
"Oww" Coby complained as he continued rubbing the top of his head in pain. "You and your brothers need to get out of here quickly before Alvida finds out that you're all here!"
"No way, we need to restock, not only that though, we also need a boat since our last one sunk" Luffy replied.
"But she'll kill you three, you don't wanna die do you, well if you don't wanna die then leave immediately or else she'll kill you!"
"Trust me Koby, I don't plan on dying, not yet at least" Luffy told him. "This Alvida doesn't matter to me or my brothers, cuz if it comes down to it, we'll take her down together."
"R-r-really!?" Koby stammered.
"Yeah, that's what makes us brothers" Luffy replied with a smile. "No matter what problems may come our way, what obstacles stop us from doing what we want, or anything else, we'll take them all on together, and no matter what, we'll always come out on top."
"Brothers sound so cool" Koby replied.
"Yeah, especially older brothers" Luffy replied. "No matter how much they'd always beat me up or talk trash to me, they really do care and will stop anything they're doing to help me if I need them."
"Hey Luffy."
"Hmm?"
"Can you tell me about you and your brothers?" Koby asked.
"Sure" Luffy replied. 'Where do I start?' He inwardly asked himself while rubbing his chin for a few seconds. 'That's it' he thought after recalling a feint memory. "There was this one time me and my brothers pulled a big prank on this rich guy by charging everything we bought in a grocery store to his credit card."
"What?" Koby asked in disbelief.
"Yeah and trust me, when I say we overcharged it, I mean it. We bought stacks and stacks of meat, instant ramen, and shark meat."
"Why?"
"Because he laughed at us for being poor" Luffy answered. "Or more specifically, he laughed at me for being poor."
"Why you specifically?"
"Well Sabo didn't like seeing that man laugh at me for being so poor. Hell the man straight up laughed and pointed at me for not only being poor, but for wearing messy, ripped up, and wrinkly clothes. Me personally, I didn't care but Sabo didn't like that one bit."
"Sabo?"
"Yeah, he's the more caring and compassionate brother of mine, Ace is more of the hardcore jerk brother of mine" Luffy explained. "Anyways though, Sabo took his wallet when he wasn't looking, and after he did, we just swiped his credit card to buy absolutely anything and everything we wanted."
"Seriously?"
"Yeah, not only did we each buy stacks and stacks of our favorite food, but we also went to the nearest bar and bought all the alcoholic beverages in it." As soon as Luffy said this, he saw the look of confusion on Koby's face and knew exactly what Koby was about to ask him so before he asked it, he answered it. "He thought we were adults because of a disguise we were wearing which made us look like an adult in height, that's how we managed to purchase everything."
"Oh okay, but what was the disguise?"
"We each sat on each other's shoulders to make ourselves look really tall and wore a big coat in order to hide that we were really just towering on top of one another."
"How many times did that fail?"
"Never."
That shocked Koby, to hear that little kids came up with an idea that not even grownups were ever able to find out was very shocking to hear. However, Koby had another question that he wanted the answer to.
"When did you guys give the man his wallet back?" Coby asked.
Luffy just smiled and then said
"We never did."
Now Coby's eyes widened.
"What was the credit limit of that card?" He queried
"Five hundred thousand berries" Luffy answered.
"Are you three insane?!"
"Yeah, one hundred percent."
"Why do you say it with so much pride?"
"Well for one it was funny, two he had it coming, and three we were able to buy anything we wanted. We just had an all you can eat buffet in the forrest and then had a competition to see who can chug the most sake out of us all."
"How old were you again?" Koby asked.
"Seven" Luffy replied.
"How old were your brothers?"
"Ten."
"You were 7-10 years old and had a drinking contest?"
"Yep."
"How big were the cups you were using?"
"Oh we didn't use cups, we drank them right out of the bottle."
"How big were the bottles?"
"About two feet from cap to bottom and eight inches from side to side."
"Who won and how many did you all drink?"
"I drank around twenty-five before passing out drunk. Ace drank fifty before he passed out drunk. Lastly, Sabo drank seventy-five before he passed out drunk."
"How do you know if you passed out drunk?"
"We recorded it with a camera that we bought using that man's credit card."
"How long was the footage?" Koby asked.
"Actually, I can show you" Luffy said before walking up to the barrel he and his brothers came out from, reaching into it, and then bringing out a camera.
"Isn't it wet?"
"Surprisingly no" Luffy responded. "Anyways, wanna see?"
"Sure" Koby said before walking up to Luffy.
Luffy turned the camera on and went through a long library of footage before eventually stopping on the video he wanted and pressing play.
(The Video)
"Alright, is it on?" Luffy asked while covering the camera's view with his face.
"Is the camera light red?" Sabo asked.
"Yeah" Luffy answered.
"Then it's on" Ace replied.
"Okay" Luffy said before walking away from the camera's view.
When Luffy's full body left the view of the camera, a really long table filled to the last inch with sake bottles was revealed. Behind the table was both Ace and Sabo who were waiting on their little brother to get behind the table with them.
"Come on get over here already" Ace complained.
"I'm coming, I'm coming" Luffy replied with a little annoyance as he made his way to his brothers' side.
Once he got there the brothers just looked at each other and after exchanging grins, Sabo said
"Ready.."
"Set.." Ace added.
"Go!" Luffy shouted before all three brothers began chugging bottle after bottle of sake.
(Video Paused)
"Alright hold on, I'm gonna speed this part up to 4x speed."
"It's that long?" Koby asked.
"Yep" Luffy replied before doing as he said.
(Video Unpaused)
It started off close with each brother chugging down one full bottle in about five seconds.
However, once it reached the ten minute mark, it started slowing gradually, with each brother chugging down one bottle every thirty seconds and also wonder around the place while still in full-view of the camera.
They were doing some pretty basic things that all people that get drunk do, they started falling to the floor repeatedly after just a single step, started jumping up and down for no reason, laughing for no reason, and for some odd reason, began fighting the air around them as if they were in a real fight with someone.
You could literally see Luffy use his gum gum powers to punch whatever he thought was close to him, even though there was literally nothing there.
You could also see Ace climbing the table and proceeding to try to climb the air over and over again, thinking he was actually climbing some big mountain or something, with one hand to put at that.
Sabo was just randomly breakdancing on the ground. He was doing the top rock, six-step, airflare, and the down rock, all in the order listed.
What made this even worse is that they were doing all this, with one of the many bottles still in their hands.
Not just that, but as they were doing what they were doing, they were drinking more and more of their sake.
After every punch that Luffy threw, he would take a sip of his sake, punch again, then rise and repeat.
As Ace was tossing himself up -the mountain- with one hand, he used his other hand to take a sip from the bottle.
Sabo was just chugging the bottle he held while breakdancing, he did not give the slightest shit about the fact that he risked choking for obvious reasons.
It wasn't just what they were doing though, had Luffy not been slowing down the video he would've heard himself and his brothers say some very strange things that most anyone would not say if they were sober.
As Luffy was punching the air he was saying
"Ji-Chan can't tell me what to do, I'm seven years old, I'm a grown ass man!" With a hiccup at the end.
As Ace finally reached the top of the -mountain- he was climbing, he looked into the sky with his arms raised up high in victory, and loudly claimed.
"I'm king of the mountain motherfuckers! Not only am I king of the mountain though, but I'm also the Prince of the Pirates, I'm royalty bitches!"
While both his brothers were doing what they were doing, Sabo was doing something else. Once he was done breakdancing, he got up, and pointed at some random -girl- which was actually just a tree, and said
"Oh yeah, you know you liked that" before moonwalking away from there, and while moonwalking he still pointed at the tree and said "Nobody can do it like me."
This was just some of what the brothers were saying and doing though, they continued doing and saying very weird and mysterious things as the video went on.
Anyways though, the brothers continued drinking and when it reached the twenty minute mark, each brother started getting slower and were now chugging one bottle down every minute.
Lastly, when they reached the thirty minute mark, it took each brother two minutes to chug down a full bottle.
Eventually, after one whole hour passed, Luffy passed out due to intoxication.
Sure enough, half an hour later, Ace too passed out drunk.
Then after speeding through the two hour mark, Sabo finally fell to the ground in front of the camera.
In the end, extra large bottles of sake were littered all over the table, ground, and Luffy specifically was buried in a bunch of them, as one could see by the way everything but his head was covered by the many bottles of sake on his body.
(End of Video)
"Wow" was Koby's only response.
"That's not all either, we used to get in fights with grown ass men all the time back home" Luffy said before putting the camera down on a nearby table.
"Why?"
"Bored."
"Really?"
"Yeah, the people back at home used to call the three of us monsters because of how often we'd get into fights with grownups and beat them."
"You three beat grownups as kids?"
"Yep."
"How were you three always so strong?"
"Because of our Ji-Chan" Luffy said with a shiver at the end. "He would purposely put the three of us through hell ever since we were little in order to make us strong, and it worked."
"What did he put you guys through?"
Luffy just shivered but then said
"That's a story for another time."
"Okay" Koby replied.
Luffy smiled after Koby said this and then said
"It's funny because at first my brothers didn't wanna accept me. They tried casting me out and were straight up gonna just let die to some rogue pirates that attacked our village a while ago, but after some time passed they accepted me and we became brothers."
'Became brothers?' Koby wondered. "Are you three related by blood?"
"Nope" Luffy replied.
"Then how did you become brothers?" Koby queried.
"Simple, we shared a cup of sake together when we were little, so even in death, our bond will never break."
"Oh" Koby replied in understanding. 'Maybe I could do that too with a close friend of mine in the future.'
"Hey Koby" Luffy said.
"Huh?"
"Isn't there something you wanna do with your life?"
"Well... of course" Koby replied. "But I don't think I can do it."
"Why?" Luffy questioned.
"Because I'm weak."
"Well, what is it?" Luffy asked.
"Actually, it's kinda stupid" Koby said before getting punched on the top of the head by Luffy again. "Oww, what was that for?"
"For saying your dream is stupid" Luffy replied. "Now what is it you wanna do in the future?"
Koby actually found confidence in what Luffy said and spoke up.
"You see, ever since I was younger I always wanted to be a marine, to help people that are too weak to help themselves."
"Then do it, nothing is stoping you except for yourself" Luffy reasoned.
"What about Alvi-?" Koby began to freak out before Luffy punched the top of his head again. "Oww!"
"Alvida is just an obstacle, everyone goes through them in life. If it really comes down to it, swim all the way to mainland."
"You right" Koby said with confidence. "That's exactly what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna become a marine and when I do I'm gonna catch Alvida myself!"
"There you go, that's the spirit!" Luffy shouted in reply
"But what if I die before I'm able to accomplish my dream?" Koby began to freak out again.
"If you die, you die" Luffy responded.
This scared the hell outta Koby and made him begin to have second thoughts about going against Alvida, but then Luffy explained further what he meant.
"If you have a dream that you want more than anything else in life, just saying you tried is enough. My dream is to be king of the pirates and if I die chasing after my dreams then so be it, at least I'll die knowing that I at least tried and didn't let any obstacle that got in my way stop me from doing it."
"Wow, a dream so desired that you're willing to die for it?" Koby questioned.
"Yeah" Luffy replied. "So go for it, the only one standing in your way from doing what you want is yourself, and even if you die in the process, at least you'll die with no regrets, knowing that you at least tried to accomplish what you wanted."
It felt crazy for some reason to Koby, but what Luffy was saying actually made perfect sense.
'It must be my fear of Alvida that's making me think this way" he thought before clenching his fists. 'But no more! I'm done with this crew, I'm done with Alvida, I'm done with being Alvida's slave, and I'm done with being a coward!' Koby inwardly declared with confidence. After thinking this, he looked Luffy eye to eye and asked him "Help me."
Luffy just smiled and said
"I thought you'd never ask."
(With Ace)
Ace was currently just sneaking around the ship looking for booze.
'Come on, I know it's gotta be around here somewhere' Ace thought while sneaking through the perimeter. 'Where are they hiding all their booze?'
He couldn't find any where he was looking so he looked in another area, then another, then found some crates and decided to check those out instead.
'Okay, one of these crates has to have at least one bottle' he thought while looking through them.
Right as he was thinking this though, he heard the voice of two men behind him.
"Hey pipsqueak, what do you think you're doing here?" One of the voices asked.
"Yeah, this place is for the higher ups of Alvida's crew only" another said.
"Plus, I don't ever recall seeing you around the ship" the final one finished.
"That's because I'm not" Ace replied without turning around and still looking through the crates for booze. "I've got my own pirate crew, it comprises of me and my brothers, and I'm just here because I wanna take all the booze you got."
"Dumbass, you really think you can just admit you're another pirate" one claimed.
"Try to steal from us?" Another added.
"And get away with it?" The final one ended.
"Yeah, pretty much" Ace said without taking his attention away from the crates.
"That's it" one of the men said before bringing out a giant mallet and attempting to hit Ace with it.
Ace caught the mallet by the metal and crushed it with just one of his bare hands.
As soon as he did this, the pirates all froze in fear and after they did, Ace told them
"Get lost before I kick all your asses out of your own ship" without turning his attention away from the crates.
The pirates who threatened him did what they were told to do and left without a second though, leaving Ace all alone to look through the room for any sort of booze they could have.
'Jeez, you'd think for scumbag pirates like these they'd have tons and tons of booze yet I haven't found a single bottle.' Ace thought as he checked the second to final crate. When he got done checking that crate he turned his attention to the final crate in the storage room and said 'Last shot' before opening it and looking inside to see that it was indeed filled to the brim with bottles of alcohol. 'Finally' he said before putting the top back on, picking it, and then walking off with it in his hands. 'Sabo and Luffy are gonna like this' he thought as he began walking to the door of the room.
Right as he reached his hand out for the doorknob though, he heard the sound of another doorknob turn, and turned his head to see five more men enter the room.
Right as Ace was about to leave, he thought
'Maybe they know where I can find some more booze' and then hid somewhere to see if they did.
He hid behind some nearby crates, away from eyesight and it allowed for him to hear and see the men that came into the room.
"Man that was fun" one of the men said.
"Yeah, you see the way I killed that guy in front of his wife?"
"Forget that, you see the way I sliced that kid's throat in front of his parents?"
"Nah, how about me, are you forgetting about me stomping that rich guy's face in with my boot in front of all those people?"
"Come on, what about me, I'm the one who robbed an entire family of everything they had with the deal of letting them live, just to kill them anyways?"
Ace heard everything and to say he was pissed would be an understatement.
To hear of pirates so pridefully talk about doing something so cruel and ruthless like what they were saying made him angry, but he kept quiet.
'Once they show me where their booze is, I'll kill them.'
As soon as Ace thought this, he saw the men all look to see if anyone was around and when they were sure there wasn't anyone nearby, they crouched down, tore a floorboard off, and revealed bottles upon bottles of beer underneath.
'Bingo' Ace thought with a grin.
"Oh, we are gonna drink like kings today" one of the men said.
"Actually" Ace said from behind them all before standing up and revealing himself to them. "All that beer is mine."
The men all laughed at Ace but then said
"Yeah right punk, you really think you can do shit to us, there's five of us and one of you?"
"Let me make a deal with you, give me all your booze, and I won't hurt you" Ace persuaded with no means of actually following through even if they did agree.
"Alright I've had enough of this shrimp" one of the men said before running at Ace and throwing a punch at him.
Ace caught the punch with one hand and proceeded to squeeze that hand as hard as possible, slowly and painfully destroying every single bone in that guy's hand in the process.
"AH, ah, ahh!" The man groaned in pain at hearing and feeling every small and big bone in his hand begin to tear apart into dust, as well as seeing his hand begin to bleed uncontrollably.
The sight scared the living shit out of every other pirate there, so much so that they did as Ace said and gave him all the booze they had.
"Here, take it, just don't hurt us" they all said in unison.
Upon seeing all the booze, Ace let go of the man's hand and let him drop to the floor.
"Ahh, ahh, ahhhhhhh!" The man cried out as he dropped and rolled around on the floor while holding onto his shattered hand with his other.
"Is this all you have?" Ace said upon seeing only twenty bottles of alcohol.
The way the men began sweating profusely answered the question for him.
"Get me every last bottle you hid, and if I feel like you're holding back even the slightest, you'll all end up like him" he said the last part while pointing at the man still crying and holding onto his hand on the ground.
The pirates instantly started tearing every floorboard they knew had booze on it and then gave it all to Ace.
Once they stopped, Ace looked at the now eight hundred bottles of booze on the ground, plus the twenty from before, and then asked them
"Is this all you have?"
They nodded profusely.
"So you'll leave us alone now right?" One of the pirates asked.
Ace then started laughing uncontrollably before saying
"Of course not, what the hell did you think?"
"But you-" one of them began to mutter before Ace interrupted them.
"And if I do so remember, you were the one who promised to let a family live if they gave you all their money and killed them anyways, didn't you?" Ace asked back in anger.
The men all gulped and tried running but Ace caught them all easily, dropped them to the floor, grabbed some nearby rope, tied them up, and began dragging them all away.
"I'm gonna have the time of my life torturing you assholes for the next hour and a half or so" he said as he dragged them all to the nearest closet.
"Nooooooo!" The men all shouted.
(With Sabo)
Sabo was currently in the emergency exit part of the ship, looking for boats to use.
'Where the hell can those boats be?' Sabo thought while looking for them. 'One would suffice, but three would be beneficial.'
Right as he thought this, he laid back against the wall of the ship and began to think
'Where else besides the emergency exit place could she be hiding the-' and then it hit him. "Selfish son of a bitch" he said in reply to his realization before walking off to where he now knew for a fact the emergency boats were at.
He walked out of the emergency exit place and began heading somewhere else.
He was on the deck, saw the bunch of pirates swarming and attacking a nearby ship filled with innocent civilians and while he did wanna do something about it, he needed the boats first.
'I'm sorry, but just hold on for now, once I get the boats, I'll help you all' he thought while looking at the ship being attacked before turning his head and walking away.
He went to the most obvious place that a self-centered jackass like Alvida would be hiding really important things like backup boats, her room.
He opened the door, stepped inside, turned around, and closed the door as quietly and as slowly as possible to avoid any unneeded altercations that would get in his way of finding the boats he needed.
The second the door closed and he turned around, he couldn't belive what he saw.
"Oh and would you look at that" he said upon seeing three boats in perfect condition just littered all over Alvida's room. 'What a waste.' He then began walking up to them and said "Well they're not gonna go to waste with us."
Right as he was about to pick one up though, he heard footsteps progressively getting closer and closer to the room.
'Oh shit' he thought before looking for the closest place to hide in.
He quickly found and hid in the nearest closet and once he did, Alvida entered her room with a little boy.
'Is that her son?' He asked himself.
"Now that you're a part of my pirate crew there's somethings I'm gonna have to fill you in on" she said to the little boy.
'I guess not' Sabo thought with a shoulder shrug.
The little boy however, was crying, already missing his mom and dad.
"Hey, listen up" she said while snapping her fingers. "I could still go over to the other ship and kill your mom if you don't listen."
"No, not my mom!" He shouted in reply.
"Then listen" Alvida demanded.
'How cruel' Sabo thought as he listened in from the closet.
"First rule, you obey everything I say" Alvida began to say. "Second rule, I'm never wrong. Third rule, no matter what, your loyalty will always reside with me. Fourth rule, whenever I ask you who the most beautiful woman in the sea is, you will always say me. Fifth rule, any jewels or fruits you find you bring to me first before anyone else. Sixth rule, if you see anyone in this ship who doesn't work for me, you kill them. Final rule, you will do chores like cleaning up the ship bathrooms and more while you're here. You understand?"
"Y-y-yes" the boy stammered.
"Good" Alvida said before sitting down on her bed. "Now go get me a glass of booze."
"H-h-hai, Alvida-Sama" the boy said with a bow before heading to the door to go do as he was told.
'How cruel' Sabo thought as he watched everything unfold from inside the closet.
Right as the boy reached the door though, it bursted open and almost hit him.
"Whoah" the boy said in surprise at the sudden burst of the door opening.
Just then, another pirate came through the door, looked at Alvida, and told her
"Captain, someone broke into our ship and is stealing all our booze!"
"Is Pirate Hunter Zoro?" Alvida asked.
"I don't think so, it looked like a kid with an orange cowboy hat."
"Where is he?!" She loudly asked in anger. "I wanna kill him myself!"
"Come with me and I'll bring you to him" the pirate said.
Alvida looked at the little boy and told him
"I'll be back, and when I am, get ready to really pledge your allegiance kid."
The kid just dropped his head and started crying.
Alvida on the other hand followed the pirate to her desired foe.
Once the two were completely away from view, the little boy dropped to his knees and started crying his heart out.
As soon as this happened, Sabo exited the closet.
'Thank Kami, I thought she'd never leave' he thought in relief while stretching since the closet was tight. 'Jeez you'd think a whale that fat would have a bigger closet.'
After Sabo thought this though, he saw the little boy on the ground crying into his hands.
He couldn't explain why, but it was as if his big brother instincts kicked in and he ended up walking up to the boy and asking him
"Are you okay?"
The boy looked at Sabo, fell back, started backing away with an arm stretched out and begged him
"Please don't kill me!"
"Relax kid, I'm not gonna hurt you, I just wanna know if you're okay" Sabo replied. "Although that is pretty stupid of me to ask since I saw everything that went down already."
"You saw it all?"
"Yeah, but don't worry I'm not gonna hurt you."
"You promise?"
"I promise."
"Then why are you here?"
"Me and my brothers' boat broke down in the middle of the sea, so we each crammed inside of a single barrel till one of Alvida's goons picked it up and opened it."
"You have brothers?"
"Yeah."
"What are their names?"
"Ace and Luffy, actually the kid who they were talking about that is stealing their booze, that's my older brother, Ace" Sabo told the boy.
"Aren't you worried?" The boy asked.
"Nope" Sabo replied. "Ace is way too strong to lose to an ugly fat old lady like that. So anyways, how about you, do you have any siblings and what's your name?"
"No" the boy responded. "I'm an only child and my name is Haru."
"Well Haru, where are your pare-" he cut himself off after remembering what Alvida said. "Oh, I'm so sorry for bringing it up."
"It's okay."
There was no reason to ask the boy what happened since he could clearly tell from the conversation that Alvida was holding the kid's mom hostage. So instead he asked him
"Wanna come with me?"
"No!" The boy shouted in fear. "I can't leave, if I do, Alvida will kill my mom!"
Sabo could see the fear in the little boy's eyes and voice, so he put a hand on his left shoulder, smiled at him, and then assured him
"Hey, look at me, I won't let anything bad happen to you or your mom. Me, my brothers, and if I know my little brother Luffy enough, a short fat kid with pink hair won't let that happen."
Haru shed a tear of joy and hugged Sabo.
"Thank you" he said.
Sabo hugged the boy back and said
"Alright, now let's go get you to your mom."
(The Other Ship)
In the other ship, the orange-haired girl was currently in the backup boat room of the ship, trying to hijack a small boat.
As she was doing this, despite the fact that she was in a room with thick wooden walls, she heard the sound of a wailing mother.
It made her flinch because it made her remember someone she knew of so long ago.
"Bellemere?" She muttered.
She then turned to the door of the room since it was where she heard the sound coming from the most, and after realizing that it was far away, she tried to turn back to the boat she was trying to steal and ignore the sounds, but she couldn't.
Even though it was complete mayhem in the ship, she just couldn't turn away from the sounds of a wailing mother.
So as much as she didn't want to, she thought
'Damn it!' Before she began making her way to the door and opening it. 'I just can't' she thought as she began making her way to the source of the sounds.
Of course, since all hell was loose on the ship she was currently in, she saw many pirates slashing down innocent people but paid it no mind and continued following the cries of what she could only identify as the cries of a mother in grief.
"Hey" one specific pirate said as he appeared right in front of her with his sword drawn. "Where do you think you're going sugar?" He added before raising his sword and bringing it down.
The girl managed to evade the slice and after some quick thinking and some quick looking around, she spotted a nearby window frame just laying on the floor, grabbed it, and smashed it over the guy's head, knocking him out instantly.
As soon as his lifeless body hit the floor, the girl continued making her way to the sounds of the wailing mother.
'Come on, come on, I can hear myself getting closer' she thought as she continued making her way. 'Don't die just yet, I'm almost there.'
Sure enough, right as she thought this, another obstacle came her way, this time though, it was in the form of an audible gunshot.
"Boom!"
"Whoah!" She shouted in alarm.
She heard the sound of the bullet being fired and could hear it getting closer to her, she tried ducking but she wasn't fast enough and the bullet hit her in the right shoulder.
"Gah, son of a bitch!" She yelled in anger while clutching her right shoulder.
"Well, then don't get in my wa-!" Someone shouted as they got closer to her before cutting themself off. "Wait a minute, you're not in my crew."
"Damn right I'm not in your crew and you wanna know why?!" The girl loudly asked.
The pirate stupidly asked
"No why?"
So she replied with
"Because pirates are nothing but good for nothing crooks who always resort to violence and I'll never join any of their pathetic crews!"
"Is that so?"
"Yeah, I'll die before I ever join one!"
"Well today's your lucky day then" the pirate said before putting his gun away and bringing out a mace. "Cuz you're gonna die!" He yelled out before running at the girl. "Ahahahah!"
'Damn, if I don't do something quick, I'm done for' the girl thought before looking around for anything else to throw at the incoming pirate.
She saw nothing nearby, no knife, no gun, not even another window frame, so she closed her eyes tightly and said
'I guess this is it' before she once again, heard the wails of the same mother, this time however, she said something.
"Someone, please, save my son!"
It was as if this activated something inside the girl that she didn't even know she had in her.
It all happened so fast that she didn't even know how she did it, or what she did for that matter, but she let go of her right shoulder, got back up, waited for the pirate to get within two feet in front of her, and when he did, she dodged his downward slash, got behind him, put him in a rear-naked choke, and kept applying pressure till finally, his eyes rolled all the way back, his sword fell from his hands, and his heart stopped.
Once she felt his heart stop beating, she let him go, allowing him to drop down to the floor, motionless.
She had successfully choked him to death.
"I... killed him" she trailed off with a shaky voice, trembling in fear that she had actually killed someone. "I... don't even know what happened or how it happened..." She tried shaking it off and justifying though. "He's a pirate, all pirates deserve death" she told herself before turning her back, still twitching in fear of what she did. "Good riddance" she finished before continuing to make her way to the source of the wailing.
No more obstacles were in her way this time, and because of this she was able to make her way to where she was headed to peacefully, despite the fact that pirates were still raiding the ship she was in.
After some more running, she finally made it to the source of the sound, and when she finally got there, she saw a woman on her knees crying to the world.
"Please Kami, save my son!" The woman cried out to the gods as tens and tens of pirates were still storming the ship and killing anyone they saw in it.
'She's gonna get herself killed' the orange-haired girl thought before sure enough, a pirate with his sword drawn ran at the woman, fully intent on killing her.
As much as the orange-haired girl wanted to ignore this and stay out of it, she just couldn't.
She picked up a nearby rock and threw it as hard as she could at that pirate.
Shockingly, it landed right between the eyes and had so much force in it that it caused the pirate to stumble back over and over again till finally, he fell off the boat and into the sea.
Nobody could see this since the man was underwater, but if they were fish or under the water with him, they would've seen the pirate get sucked into one of the propellers of the boat, instantly tearing him to shreds.
After this though, the orange-haired girl walked up to the woman and told her
"Get out of the ship, you're going to die!"
"I want my baby!" The lady cried out.
"Baby?" The girl said in confusion.
"My son, the captain of the pirates who are attacking this ship took my son and killed my husband!"
The girl gasped.
"Just leave me alone and let me die in peace, I don't wanna live without my son or husband" the woman said before dropping her face into the floor of the ship and crying into it.
The orange-haired girl couldn't just do nothing anymore. After hearing about the woman's family and what happened, she knew she couldn't just leave well enough alone.
So she asked the woman
"What's your name?"
The woman didn't even pick her head up and just cried out
"Akane" with her face still on the floor, muffling the sounds.
"Okay, Akane, I'm Nami and I'll help you get your son back."
The woman instantly picker her head back up, wiped the tears off her face, and said
"Really?"
"Yes" the girl replied.
"Thank you" she said.
"Don't thank me yet, come on, let's go, we gotta get to that ship before anything else happens."
"Right" Akane replied before the two headed out to the other ship.
(With Alvida)
As Alvida was making her way to wherever it was that her henchman was leading her, something else caught her attention, and that something else was the sound of a door being kicked off its hinges.
"What the hell?!" She yelled before turning her head to the source and seeing Luffy exiting the kitchen.
"Alvida-Sama, the kid is this way" the pirate said.
"Screw that, kill that kid, he broke my goddamn door" she ordered.
"Yes" the pirate said before rushing at Luffy.
Luffy easily dispatched him with a single punch to the jaw which knocked him clean out.
After that pirate was dealt with, Luffy turned his head and said
"Come on Koby, keep up."
"I'm sorry, you're just really fast" Koby said before ending up right beside Luffy and being death stared by Alvida. "Uh oh."
Alvida smiled evilly at Koby and then sarcastically asked him
"Koby, what are you doing with that kid?"
"I-I uh" he stammered in nervousness.
Luffy just gave him a look and sure enough, that look gave Coby the strength to look Alvida dead in the eyes and say
"He's my friend and he's going to help me kick your ass and get me out of this ship so I can join the navy and be a marine, so that later on in my life I can kick your ass all alone and arrest you myself!"
This shocked Alvida and made her drop her jaw all the way down to the floor in a comical way.
Ten seconds after dropping her jaw, she brought it back up, gnashed her teeth, clenched her club as hard as possible, said
"Why you little brat" brought her club all the way up and said "Fine, traitors must die!"
'I did it, I said it, I said it, I have no regrets, no regrets!' Coby inwardly repeated while holding both sides of his face in terror.
He closed his eyes when he saw the club come down but was shocked when after five seconds he felt nothing, so he opened his eyes and saw that Luffy shielded him from the club by letting it hit his body instead.
"You said it Koby" Luffy claimed with a smile while the club was still pressed against his body. "Now let's kick this whale's ass together" he said while staring at Alvida with a determined grin.
"Yeah!" Koby shouted in reply with his fist raised.
It was at that moment that Luffy's body bounced and caused Alvida to take approximately twenty steps back.
Once she found her footing, she looked at Koby and Luffy and angrily shouted
"Oh is that right, you're gonna kick my ass?!"
"Yeah!" Both Luffy and Koby shouted back.
"From the way you look kid I take it you're not Pirate Hunter Roronoa Zoro?"
'Zoro?' Luffy thought.
"Then bring it on, I'll kick both your asses together!" Alvida said before raising her club and running at the two.
Koby and Luffy ran at her together.
From the way they were running at each other, you'd think that a big battle between two equal sides was about to go down, however that wasn't the case at all and fight didn't last any longer than one single minute.
The reason why is because Luffy dove behind Alvida and began wrapping his body around her arms, legs, and chest, like a snake wrapping its body around its prey, and forcing her to drop her club.
"What the?!" Alvida and Koby shouted in shock.
"Oh yeah, I never told either of you, I ate the gum gum Devil fruit and now I'm a rubber man."
"Rubber man?" They both said dumbly.
"Yeah" Luffy said with a chuckle before turning serious. Get her Koby!"
Koby, who had initially stopped running due to seeing Luffy wrap around Alvida like some snake would, shook it off after hearing Luffy say this and ran at Alvida again.
Then, focusing all the anger, hatred, and vengeance he had towards the ugly woman, Koby performed a feat that seemed impossible for someone his size.
He punched Alvida in the chin so hard that he literally sent her flying across the sea.
"Ahhhhhhhhhh!" She shouted as she was sent flying.
Thankfully, Luffy let her go inches before Koby's fist made contact, so he was perfectly fine and just watched as she soared through the sky.
Once she was gone from view, three things happened.
The first thing that happened was Koby dropping down to one knee and screaming out
"Owwwww!" While holding and rubbing his now extremely sore, broken, and bruised up left hand. "Oww, owww, owwwwww!"
As soon as this happened Luffy asked Koby
"Are you okay?"
To which he just whimpered out
"No."
The second thing that happened was a door being kicked off its hinges and Ace shouting
"I got the booze!" While carrying three crates of alcohol which were stacked on top of each other in one hand and three other crates filled with bottles of booze in the other hand.
Lastly, the final thing that happened was Alvida's room's door being kicked off it hinges and Sabo shouting
"This kid need help!" While holding three boats in one hand, each one stacked on top of the other.
It was at that moment that all three brothers saw each other and said
"Oh well would you look at that" before regrouping.
Once they were all together again, they each spoke.
"I got the booze" Ace said while holding the six crates up.
"I got the boats" Sabo said while holding all three boats.
"Sorry guys, I don't have any food" Luffy said while rubbing underneath his nose.
"Of course you don't" Ace said sarcastically with an eye roll.
"That's fine" Sabo replied with a smile. "We have enough booze to last us more than a couple days and we each have our own boats."
"Who are they?" The little boy who was holding Sabo's hand asked Sabo.
"Oh, they're my brothers" Sabo told him.
"Oh" the boy said before looking around and noticing Alvida was nowhere to be seen. "Where's Alvida?"
"Oh her?" Luffy questioned before putting a hand on Koby's left shoulder. "Koby punched her halfway through the sea."
"He did?!" The kid shouted in confusion.
"Yeah" Koby said while rubbing the back of his head in embarrassment with his good hand.
The boy then ran to Koby and hugged his leg tightly.
"Thank you, thank you so much!"
'He must be another victim' Koby thought bringing his good hand down and using it to rub the top of the boy's head. "It's okay kid, it's okay."
After he said this, Sabo turned around to see the ruckus being caused on the other ship.
"Before we head out, I think you guys know what has to be done."
"Yup" Ace and Luffy replied.
"Can I help?" Koby asked.
"You sure, you only have one good hand left?" Luffy replied.
"One hand is all I need" Koby said with conviction.
"Okay" the brothers said in unison.
Sabo then turned to Haru, got down on his knees, and told him
"Haru, you stay here and wait for us to come back."
"But what if I get hungry or thirsty?" He asked.
"Drink some booze" Sabo answered.
"But-" the kid began to say
"It's all we have" Sabo interrupted.
"Okay, but what if I see my mom?" Haru replied.
"Then go to her."
"How will you know that I went with her and that another pirate didn't kidnap me?"
"Shatter a bottle of booze and leave it in front of the crates" Sabo answered.
"Okay" Haru said back.
"You got all that?" Sabo asked.
"Yeah" the boy answered.
"Okay" Sabo said before getting back up to his feet and looking at the other ship. "Then let's go" Sabo said before he, Luffy, Ace, and Koby all went to the other ship.
(One Minute Later)
"Grrr" growled the empty stomach of the little boy that the brothers and Koby saved. "Oh, not now, all we have to eat and drink is alcohol." "Grrr" "Fine, just one won't hurt.
With that being said, he opened the nearest crate and grabbed a bottle of alcohol. As soon as he picked it up, he twisted the cap till it popped off and was about to take a sip when he heard
"Haru!"
He recognized the voice instantly and turned his head towards it.
He saw his mom, right there.
Tears began welling in his eyes, he dropped the bottle of alcohol, and before he could realize it, he was crying uncontrollably.
"Mom!!" He shouted before getting up and running towards her.
His mom ran towards him too with her arms open.
"My son!!" She shouted as they both ran at each other.
"Mommy!!" Haru shouted before jumping into his mom's open arms.
They both began crying into each other's shoulders uncontrollably.
"I was so scared, I thought I'd never see you again!" Haru cried out.
"It's okay, we're together again and that's all that matters" Akane replied with a shaky voice while rubbing the back of her son's head.
Nami, who was watching the whole thing unfold, smiled.
'The warmth of a mother truly can't be rivaled' she thought before noticing Akane start to turn her head towards her.
"Thank you so much Na-" Akane began to say before noticing the Nami was gone. "Nami?"
"Who's Nami?"
"She's the girl that helped me find you."
"Thank you Nami!" The little boy shouted to make sure she could hear him.
"Yeah, thank you Nami!" Akane shouted with her son.
Nami was actually hiding behind a wall, away from view of the two and heard them thank her.
It made her smile again, since she was able to help a family, but she let out a deep breath and began making her way back to the other ship to find a boat and flee the scene.
Back to Akane and Jimmy though, they were still hugging and talking about how scared they were. That was until they heard the sounds of necks cracking and turned around to see Luffy, Sabo, Ace, and Koby walking away from the now burning ship that was now free of evil pirates, as one could tell by the amount of blood in their hands.
Haru smiled at the sight of them
Of course, since Akane didn't know them, she thought they were enemy pirates and immediately started protecting her son.
"Stay back from my son you demons, back I tell you!" She yelled while kicking her feet. "I won't let you monsters separate me from my son again!"
"No mom, it's okay, they saved me from Alvida" Haru told her.
"Really?" Akane asked her son.
"Yeah" he told her.
Looking back at the boys, Akane realized that they were each carrying multiple bodies of people from the other ship.
The boys noticed this and told her
"These were all the survivors we could find."
Looking closely, Akane could see the body of her husband laying on top of Koby's shoulders.
"Yuto!"
"Oh, do you know him?" Koby asked.
"That's my husband!" She shouted. "Is he still alive!?"
"Yeah, I found him lying on the floor and he still had a heartbeat so I picked him up" Koby told her. "He has a fractured skull but should still be fine if you get him medical attention."
"I'm so sorry" Akane said with a bow.
"It's okay Ms" Koby said.
"Yeah, you didn't know any better, and it sure doesn't help with how bloody we are" Sabo added.
"Thank you for saving my son and husband" she said while still bowing her head.
"It's okay Ms" Ace said with a smile.
"Yeah, just make sure to-" Luffy began to say before cannonballs cut him off.
"Whoah!" They all said in shock before turning around and seeing four to five navy ships all positioned for battle.
"This is the navy, whatever pirates are attacking that ship surrender now!" Some voice from the ships announced.
While this was shocking in and of itself, what shocked Koby the most was the fact that the cannonball the navy fired produced so much power that it caused enough water to fall into the other ship and extinguish the flames.
The boys all looked at each other and after exchanging nods, the brothers picked up every single person they saved from the other ship and placed them back on it, it was so fast that if you literally just blinked you missed it.
"Get back on the other ship" Koby told the mother and son."The navy won't attack you there and you can also get medical help from a professional there."
"Okay" the mother said before picking her child up, saying "Thank you" one more time, and then running to the other ship.
The four boys watched her run and made sure she got on the other ship safely and when she did, Luffy turned to Koby and asked him
"Don't you think you should go with them Koby?"
"Hell no, if the marines see me now they'll think I'm a pirate too" Koby said. "So can I go with you guys?"
"Sure" they all replied before an incoming cannonball actually landed on Alvida's ship.
"Let's go" Luffy said while gesturing his hand to Sabo, Ace and Coby.
"Right" they all replied before picking up their belongings and making their way to their boats.
(With Nami)
Nami was currently in the emergency boat room of the other ship, looking for another boat.
'Come on, why are there so few bo... nevermind' she thought as she continued looking through the room for another boat to use for her escape.
After just a couple more seconds she finally found one, it was just laying against the dark corner of the room.
'Wow, it's really dusty' she thought while looking at it.
She wasn't lying, the boat was not only dusty, but it also had spiders and cockroaches crawling all over it.
If it was any other situation she would've kept looking, but since she knew that the navy was here, she realized
'It's better than nothing' before picking it up, exiting the room, and making her getaway.
(Back With The Brothers)
As Luffy, Ace, and Sabo were each swimming away in their boats, Luffy asked Koby a question.
"Who is this Zoro that the fat lady was talking about?" Luffy asked Koby.
"Why do you wanna know?"
"I thought if he was strong I'd ask him to join my crew."
"Well the last I heard of him he was captured by some marines."
"Oh, so he's a weakling, never mind" Luffy said.
"No way!" Koby shouted. "He's far from it! He's the most feared pirate hunter in the East Blue! Pirates are so scared of him that they compare him to demons!"
"Okay, that's more like it" Luffy said in reply. "Where is he being kept at?"
"I believe he's being kept in some military base on Shell Island" Koby said.
"Okay, do you know where that's at?" Luffy asked.
"Yeah" Koby replied.
Luffy then turned to look at his brothers and asked them
"Hey you guys, is it cool if we set sail to Shell Island, there's a guy I wanna recruit!?"
"Yeah sure I don't care" Ace replied.
"Sure" Sabo said with a giggle at the end.
"Alright, then Shell Island here we come!" Luffy announced with a smile.

If it wasn't obvious enough, there is going to be lots and lots of OCs in this story for many reasons.
For those of you that don't know, OC stands for original character which is pretty much a character that doesn't exist in the canon series that is represented, but is in the fanfic or whatever else just for fun.
Also in case you were wondering, Ace's favorite food isn't listed on any forum I found, so I just looked up Roger's favorite food and made it that instead.
