Jean Baptiste was the only chid anf a wealthy Haitian couple. For most of his life, he lived a luxurious and spoiled life. One would have a life like that if their families were direct supporters of Haiti's most oppressive regimes, the Duvalier dynasty. For many Haitians who lived in poverty, they would classify these children's and families as the lucky ones. However, Jean-Baptiste will soon learn that life and luck have many twists and turns as the Duvalier dynasty crumbles. All of its allies and supporters will struggle and will realize the struggle many Haitians, who were not as fortunate as them, have realized.
