It was just ordinary day at the Lord House. The kids were doing their usual things, and unfortunately, Lynn decided to try and have some fun with Lincoln and Lucy, pushing them to fight her after the two of them tried to get her to step off from their own space.
"Ah!" Lincoln exclaimed, taking a hit at the shoulder. Lucy being right behind him as Lynn in front of them both in a fighting stance.
"Come on, Stinkoln." Said a determined Lynn as she threw another punch, forcing Lincoln to make a sloppy block. "You started this! And I'm gonna finish it!"
Lincoln dodged another hit as he said "All we wanted was for you to back off!"
"I should know by now Linc, then I never back down!" As she sent a blow to Lincoln's chest, which surprisingly didn't move him as she thought it would. Little did she know that she was hurting herself more than she was Lincoln, as every strike she landed on him made her hands ache more and more.
"Something wicked this way comes, Lynn." Lucy said. "If you don't cease abusing our brother, you may begin to reap what you have sown."
"Save the poetry crap for your weird club, Lucy. I'm putting Lincoln back in his place!" The sports loud wouldn't let up, and it wasn't sitting well with her brother as something else was building up inside of him.
"Just knock it off, Lynn!" He said, but she wouldn't listen. She intended to knock him off his feet with a push kick. But suddenly, Lynn was caught off guard with Lincoln grabbed her leg in a tight, crushing grip, if her bone cracking was any indication.
"Ow! Wha-?"
"I said KNOCK IT OFF!" And then, so suddenly, Lincoln had then gained the immense strength to throw Lynn across the hall. She skidded against the floor before head nearly slammed into the door, and she just enough time to see that Lincoln's eyes were starting to glow red. No one was ready for what came next, as then red hot lasers came blasting out of Lincoln's eyes. Lynn barely had time to dodge as the lasers had managed to get her ponytail…and the floor..and the bathroom…and now the house was nearly split down the middle.
When the lasers dissipated, Lincoln himself was in shock of what he had just done as the rest of his family came over to see the destruction he managed to bring.
Only Lana was able to say what everyone was thinking: "What just happened…?"
Later on, after what the family just saw, Lincoln found himself in Lisa's room, who's putting him through and examination. She did X-ray scans, blood tests and DNA recordings. Not that she was frantic, but whatever it was that she found made her believe that it was a cry out for more research. After what felt like hours, the results she had gotten were shocking.
Lori then spoke out "So, what is up? What did you find wrong with Lincoln."
"I have seen, analyzed and experimented with every sort of recorded form of DNA known to man." She says while wiping her glasses before showing her family the results of the DNA test results. "But this…this is completely unknown, even to me."
"What do you mean by that?" Luna asked.
"I'm not even sure how it's possible, but it seems that our dear male siblings has traces of DNA that are…not entirely human."
This was a big shock to the Louds, especially Lincoln.
"I'm not sure what it is, but the cells in Lincoln's systems seem a hundred times stronger than ordinary." Lisa explained. "Absorbing certain types of radiation seems to even increase upon his own natural abilities."
Lincoln was beginning to ask "Lisa, what are talking abo-"
And that is when the gifted one of the family did something drastic and smashed a hammer over the back of Lincoln's head. Everyone was surprised by her doing that, but what was event more surprising that the hammer bounced off the boy's head.
"As suspected, it appears that Lincoln can no longer be so easily harmed, as his body has more durable bones, muscles and even skin." Lisa continued. "But that's not even the strangest thing I found. Traces of DNA show that Lincoln is not connected to our family."
"WHAT?!" Exclaimed the rest of the Louds, as another bomb had just been dropped. This left the parents horrified, as this was something they were hoping would come to question. The patriarch of the Louds quickly rushed to their room while the rest of the Loud sisters were starting to freak out.
"So, is Lincoln a monster?" Lola asked.
"He definitely is, since he nearly cut my head off!" Lynn said angrily.
"Maybe he's an alien." Lana said before pointing accusingly towards her brother "Were you sent here from space, Lincoln? Do you have a space ship!?"
"Well, he has been proven to be out of this world before!" Luan joked, while everyone groaned.
"Luan, that was weak." Lucy said.
More questions began to be asked by the younger sisters, and Lincoln couldn't handle them all. But that is when Rita decided to pull her son away.
"Alright, knock it off!" She said. "This is personal situation. We can take care of this."
"Uh, mom? How can you handle our brother not being human?" Leni asked.
"Your brother is more human than you think and you know it." Rita said. "Now if you'll excuse us, we have something to talk about with Lincoln."
And that is Rita took Lincoln to her room, leaving the rest of the girl bewildered.
Lucy had managed to slip away while the rest of her sister were pondering what to think about their apparently inhuman brother. While in the vents, she looked to where her parent's room was at. There, they were showing Lincoln documents that shattered everything he thought he knew about himself and his family.
"…I'm adopted?" Lincoln said with a shocked expression.
"I'm afraid so, son." Lynn Sr. admitted. "Taking you in was a big favor we had to do for an old friend of ours back in New York."
(Yes. Metropolis is located in New York.)
"It was when you so young, barely remembering anything, when Lois Lane, your birth mother, was going through some tough times. She couldn't take of you, and asked us to do it in her stead. But we never regretted having you as part of our family." Rita tried to reassure Lincoln. "We loved you very much, even if we couldn't always be there for you."
All this was just rattling questions in Lincoln's head. Even if he was adopted, this doesn't explain what happened earlier today.
"And what does this have to do with me shooting out of my eyes? Or me apparently being stronger than steel."
"Well…Lois was always crazy about researching the hero known as Superman." Lynn Sr. explained. "He protects Metropolis, and while we heard that Lois was happily married to her co-reporter, Clark Kent, it's, uh…"
He didn't want to explain it because it may have been inappropriate to talk about. Unfortunately, Lincoln got the gist of it. So not only was he adopted, but he may have been the illegitimate son of a Superhero as well. Lucy listened on all of this, showing what little emotion she could, feeling sorry for her brother. Adopted or not, she cared about him deeply. There was no way to get his mind off of this as he looked through more of the documents. And that is when he uncovered something else; apparently, he wasn't the only one adopted in the family.
"…Lucy too?" And that made the goth even more shocked.
"We took you both in. She was just a baby." Rita explained.
"But does that mean she's also…?"
Lynn Sr answered. "We don't know for certain."
That is when Lucy made herself scarce, quickly heading to her room and looking into the mirror. She lifted her eyes to get a better view, but quickly put her bangs back when they glowed red as well. This changes everything….
Some time had past in the Loud House, which was considerably quiet now. And at least the house had settled after taking a hit from laser burn. Although, the rest of the siblings were a little on edge, if Lynn sleeping with a bat, and Lana sleeping with a hammer was any indication that they were now afraid of their brother.
Lucy honestly couldn't believe the nerve of their siblings. No longer trusting of their brother, even after everything he's done for them. The last thing she wanted was for Lincoln to feel like a pariah in their own home. She wondered if there was any way to make this right. But thoughts were interrupted when she heard the sounds of shuffling going on, which is weird because it felt like it was happening a few rooms away.
Little did she realize that her senses were also being heightened as she exited her room and headed to her brother's. Before she could knock or open the door, her perspective seemed to change as she now seemed to looking through the door. She could see that Lincoln was packing a backpack full of clothings, and she had a pretty good idea what this indicated as she opened the door.
"Lincoln?" She said, surprising her brother, who kept himself from yelping.
"Lucy…what are you doing up?" He asked, trying to play it cool.
"…Are you leaving?" Lucy had decided to ask, making her brother sigh.
"I'm sorry, Lucy. But with everything's that happened, I don't want anyone here to feel uncomfortable or threatened around me."
Lucy then replied "That's not it though, is it? You want to find our true parents."
"You…! You found out?" Lincoln asked.
"I was there when you discovered the truth. You and I share blood, and do not belong here, where we are treated as outsiders."
Lincoln was getting the gist of what Lucy was trying to say.
"Wait, no. No, no, no. You can't come with me, Lucy. I can't garauntee your protection, since I'll be heading a long away from here."
"Lincoln. I'm also starting to uncover abilities of my own. You and I share the same father."
"You mean…?" Lincoln stopped himself before thing about this. "…It's not gonna be easy."
"It never is." Lucy said.
A little while later, the two had been packed up, wearing warm clothes for the journey. The left a note explaining where they're going, thinking it was for the best. How they were going to make the journey was not going to be easy though, since not only it was a long way from Michigan to Metropolis, but they didn't have any real means of transportation.
But that when Lincoln wanted to try something out. If he was the son of Superman, then he must a superpower that everyone wanted. Flight.
"Are you ready, Lucy?" Lincoln asked, as Lucy was on his back.
"Ready." She answered.
"Then let's go!" And that is when Lincoln broke into a run and then jumped, hoping to start flying in the air…only to wind up falling flat on his face.
"Maybe we should take the bus." Lincoln said in a muffled voice.
"That sounds like a better idea." Lucy agreed.
It would be a long time before they make it to the city of Metropolis, and to finally meet their birth parents with their own eyes…
