A/N: Please note that I have changed the time line a bit. UNSC Iroquois wasn't tagged by the covenant tracking device. This happens later on to the Pillar of Autumn during a test in another system to Reach. As such by the time the Pillar of Autumn has arrived back at Reach a small force of ships has been to refit to the standards of the Pillar of Autumn.

A few other changes include: that the entirety of Noble team survives. So, the remote detonator works of the Long Night of Solace and Kat's shields worked when the sniper tried to kill her but hit her Cybernetic shoulder. Red team is not sent back to reach as other Spartan III fireteams were being sent to the generators and other surrounding missions.

I do not own either Stargate SG 1 or Halo. Halo belongs to 343 industries and Microsoft and Stargate SG 1 belongs to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.

Prologue – the Ashes of Reach

(1230 hours/ 19th September 2552/ Heavy Cruiser UNSC Lyonesse/ Location Reach Station Gamma)

On the bridge of the newly refitted UNSC Lyonesse, Captain Jacob Keyes was en route to Reach Station Gamma to send Blue Team aboard to delete the Circumference's navigation data. His small support fleet was surrounding both the shipyard and the Elysium Class Cruiser.

His small task force was made up of. The refitted Halcyons: Pillar of Autumn and Red Wall, the Halberd destroyers: Herodotus and Iroquois, Paris Class frigates: Black Prince and Commonwealth, Charon Class frigates Forward unto Dawn, Providence and Chioglossa, and the Stalwart Class frigates: In Amber Clad and Tannenberg.

Just as the Lyonesse was about to dock with Gamma Station to allow Spartan Blue team to board, a radio transmission came in from Vice Admiral Stanforth. "Captain, where is Admiral Kovalic, I need to speak to him urgently." Stanforth said.

"I regret to inform you, Sir that Admiral Kovalic is currently in critical condition after being engaged by an enemy carrier Sir. It is questionable as to whether he will survive long enough to make it back to a hospital for necessary surgery. I am just about to send Spartan Red team down to the MAC generators to hold them until no longer practical."

"Thank you for the update, Keyes, I have an urgent mission for that fleet. An important package needs to get off of the planet but they can't get out of the atmosphere without being shot down. We currently do not have the fighters to spare in an attempt to cover their ascent into orbit I need you to land on the surface and extract them. Your ships have the upgrades necessary to allow you to complete the mission successfully. Keep Spartan Red team with you, I have dispatched Spartan III teams from Gamma Company to that location as well as Castle Base and the recovery of Vice Admiral Whitcomb." Stanforth ordered. "Also why are the Spartans on the Lyonesse and not the Autumn?"

"The Spartans are on the Lyonesse at my suggestion as the Halcyons have effectively become battlecruisers. With their history of being destroyed by ships that are faster and more heavily armed than themselves and being used in the wrong way, I suggested that they be moved to a more heavily armoured cruiser. I will ensure the Spartans remain on board and are used for another objective." Keyes answered. "We will do everything to get the package off Reach. However, if I have to go down there with my ships, I would like permission to extract as many UNSC personnel from the planet's surface as possible." Keyes continued resolutely.

"Very well, contact Colonel Holland to organise this evacuation. My fleet shall remain in orbit to buy your evacuation some time, You have about an hour maybe slightly more. Good luck Captain." Stanforth replied before the transmission was cut off.

"Cortana, do we have intel on who has the package and where they are? Also order Red team to stand down for the moment." Keyes asked the AI.

"Yes Captain, Spartan Noble team has the package as well as Dr Halsey on board a Pelican. They are in the Viery Territory roughly 6 Kilometres from the Aszod ship breakers yard." Cortana replied succinctly.

"Order the Cruisers to move to the shipyard to pick any UNSC survivors in the region, Once we have offloaded Blue team onto Gamma Station, we will move to join them. I want all Longsword and Nandao squadrons protecting all forces nearby as to ensure as many troops make it to us as possible. Have the Paris and Charon class frigates as an anti-fighter screen around the other two cruisers. The Stalwarts and Halberds are to act as our escorts." Keyes ordered.

"Orders relayed and fleet moving to the Aszod ship breakers yard. All fighters are beginning to attack enemy banshees Sir." Cortana reported.

"Order Red team to secure those shipyards before any of our ships arrive. Get me in contact with Colonel Holland." Keyes ordered.

A few seconds later Colonel Holland's voice was coming through the speakers. "Hello Captain Keyes, how can I be of assistance?" He asked.

"Colonel, could you put a message out to the forces around the Aszod shipbreakers yard so UNSC forces know that they have a rendezvous point for a possible extraction? We also need to pick up Noble team, Please inform their AI of the new plan." Keyes asked.

"Consider it done Captain." Holland said ending the transmission.

"Captain, Blue team have disembarked and we are undocking from the station." Cortana informed Keyes.

"Lieutenant Dominique, inform the Tannenberg that they are to remain on station here to extract Blue team. When we return, they are to transfer to the Lyonesse. Lovell, get us planet side."

(1500 hours/ September 19 2552/ UNSC Noble Team/ Location Viery Territory, Reach – 6 Kilometres away from Aszod.)

Travelling by Pelican while attempting to shake some banshees, Noble team was having a tough time. Jorge was sat on the rear ramp of the pelican firing his modified M247H machine gun at the banshees with Jun doing the same with his SRS 99 Anti-Matériel rifle. Dr Halsey, Kat and Noble Six were in the loading bay of the pelican while Carter and Emile were attempting to fly the pelican while not being shot down.

"Commander, where the hell are we going?" Emile shouted down the mic in his helmet.

"Away from the Banshees." Was Carter's only reply.

Suddenly all the radios crackled to life with the sound of Colonel Holland's voice. "This is Colonel Urban Holland to all UNSC force in the Viery territory. Make your way to the Aszod shipyards, there is a small task force will to take as many of you as they can carry off world. You have one hour to arrive before they are forced to leave without you."

A few seconds later, the banshees behind the pelican exploded as a flight of longswords began to cover the dropship.

"This is Warwolf one to Noble one, do you read over?" the radio crackled.

"This is Noble one to Warwolf one, receiving you loud and Clear." Carter replied.

"Noble One, message from Captain Keyes, get your ass over to the UNSC Lyonesse to deliver the package. Warwolves four and five will escort you." Warwolf one relayed.

"Warwolf One, Noble team owes you one. Thank you."

This resulted in Emile and Halsey letting out an audible sigh of relief. Jorge and Jun then slumped down onto the floor of the dropship having been relieved of banshee duty. Carter thanked whatever God was out there, for a safe haven, in his head. Kat privately thought that now she would be able to have her arm repaired. Six just began to slowly unwind from multiple days of constant combat.

With that three of the longswords pulled out and went off to assist other units.

(Half a mile from Aszod ship yards)

The same message from Colonel Holland reached the remnants of the 14th Armoured regiment's 2nd battalion with their escort of the 3rd recon regiment as well as all the injured troops from the 5th, 19th and 22nd infantry regiments who were the survivors of the nearby UNSC Counter attack.

For some time, they had been driving slowly and without lights to avoid being attacked by covenant troops. After the message came through and confirmed sightings of UNSC fighters overhead, they switched on their lights and drove at best possible speed to the extraction point.

The CO of one of the scorpions was a Lieutenant David Holland. Hearing that his father was alive was a relief, but also hearing that he had secured off world transport was an even greater relief.

When the remnants of the five units reached the extraction point, they were amazed to see three UNSC cruisers, two destroyers and five frigates all ready to take on evacuating troops. Not five minutes later Noble team arrived at the extraction point after having to dodge a scarab and more banshees. Half an hour later the remnants of the counter attack had been fully embarked onto the cruisers and frigates with Noble team going to the location where the Spartan IIs were based aboard the Lyonesse. They had to wait another fifteen minutes as more troops arrived and were loaded on before the one-hour time window closed.

The 14th Armoured Regt 2nd Btn was loaded onto the Autumn as well as any other straggling armour. The 3rd Recon Regt was loaded onto the Red Wall. The troops of the 5th, 19 and 22nd as well as other stragglers were loaded onto the frigates Black Prince and Commonwealth. One of the other straggling units was the 8th ODST Company which was loaded onto the Lyonesse. Another was the 38th Engineer battalion which was distributed across the cruisers to help with repairs. During the loading process, the crews of each of the cruisers were attempting to affect minor repairs across the ship with the help of the engineers from the stragglers.

Just as the 1-hour window was about to close and Vinh 030 was about to jump out of the Onager, a covenant cruiser approached the shipyard. The few MAC rounds from the Iroquois, Herodotus and Dawn as well as the Archer missiles from In Amber Clad and Providence had no effect. The Covenant cruiser came towards the Cruisers before Vinh fired an Onager MAC round right into the powering up plasma lance which caused an explosion setting of a series of secondaries destroying the cruiser.

Vinh along with Joshua 029 and Isaac 039 ran down from the MAC turret to the landing pad where one of the last Pelicans to leave was. This Pelican had Fred 104, Kelly 087, Malcolm 059, Anton 044, Grace 093 and William 043 aboard ready to return to the Lyonesse. Once everyone was aboard, the pelican took the Spartans back to the Lyonesse.

Once the last of the Spartans had returned to the Lyonesse, Keyes ordered "Cortana get us off Reach now. Signal the fleet to follow".

"Yes Captain." Cortana replied as the cruisers began to launch from the ship yard and the frigates and destroyers began to break for orbit alongside the cruisers.

A/N: This is a reupload with the necessary changes to the story where the A/N chapter and the reader who made me aware of the problem have corresponded about what needs to change and what I can do to change it. in the A/N if I made it sound like the other ships don't have similar upgrades as the autumn, please be aware that they indeed do have similar Upgrades. These primarily include: the experimental high thrust model fusion drive system, Rapid cycling MAC coils and new capacitors, Expanded drop bay, expanded hanger(cruisers), Tier III data core (Cruisers) and updated point defence software. Halcyons have the reformulated Titanium A armour plating and Omega pattern bridge. These upgrades were taken directly from the newest Halo Encyclopedia.
