A Scary Movie
Chapter 1: The Beginning
Hillwood
2028
It was a nice Summer's day in the town known as Hillwood. The sun is out and people were out enjoying their day.
Including a certain special family who lives in this town. In a nice, two story house in the nicer side of town, said family included three children who were eager to go out and play, enjoying their summer vacation.
They are 12 year old Andy Shortman, 8 year old Megan Shortman and the youngest, Henry Shortman, the baby of the family. They are the children of Arnold and Helga Shortman and much like their parents at their age, they wanted to have fun during their vacation.
These young children have grown considerably as Andy was taller due to becoming a pre-teen and his voice started to deepen a while back but he is still the same energetic, nice kid he has always been. He also no longer wears his simple red and white shirt and now wears a simple red plaid shirt and jeans.
Megan, however, is still one of the shorter kids in her class but she is also one of the smartest, being behind only her friend Kiki Johanssen in grades. She still has her wild blonde hair but it's longer now and still held in a ponytail with her favorite pink bow. She now wore a white cardigan with a pink shirt underneath, a plaid pink skirt and matching white boots.
Little Henry is now a four eyes old tot and his blonde hair is longer now and he now wore green overalls with a white shirt underneath and black sneakers. He is still cute too.
Anyway, these kids were currently playing some baseball outside.
"Hey batta-batta! Hey batta-batta!..."Megan called when her brother was at bat.
"Cut that out, Megan..."Andy said in annoyance while he was at bat.
"Try to hit this one, Big Brother..."Henry said as he threw the ball.
Andy managed to hit it but was light as to avoid breaking any windows...again and because he wanted to go easy on his little brother.
Anyway, he hit the ball while Megan and Henry tried to get the ball while Andy ran across the "bases".
"I win!..."Andy said while Megan pouted.
"No fair, you had the advantage..."Megan complained, due to her hatred of losing.
"You mean experience..."Andy said and he ignored her when she stuck her tongue out at him.
Andy then turned to Henry and picked him up.
"Nice hit, Little Bro. You're getting better..."He said.
"You mean it?..."Henry asked in excitement.
"Yeah, you're getting better. I'm sure that you'll be at my levelw hen you and your friends are old enough to play baseball against other teams..."He said.
"Hey you two, come on. Aren't we playing or knitting?..."Megan said impatiently.
Andy and Henry both rolled their eyes at her impatience and went back to playing...or they would have, had their mother not called for them.
"Kids, lunch time!..."Their mother's voice called them and the kids stopped what they were doing.
"Alright, I'm starved..."Andy said as he put the ball down.
"Me too..."Megan said as she put her mitt down.
"But I wanna turn at bat too..."Henry said as he didn't get to do that yet.
"Later, athletes gotta eat..."Andy shouted as he ran towards the house and his siblings followed.
"Hey! Wait up!..."Megan yelled as she ran inside, wanting to make sure he doesn't hog all the good stuff.
"Wait for me!..."Henry shouted as he followed his big brother and sister.
The Shortman siblings soon tried to get into the house but since they all tried to get into the door at the same time, they all get stuck in the door with each other.
"Hey! Watch it..."Andy shouted as he tried to move out but his siblings struggled.
"Me first!..."Megan demanded.
"Why should you get to go in first?..."Henry asked, growing impatient.
"Because I'm a young, blossoming lady, that's why..."Megan said in an uppity tone, making her brothers eye roll.
"You're no lady..."Andy said in annoyance as he tried to move.
"Yeah, you're nothing but a girl and a sister..."Henry said, making Megan mad.
"Oh, I'll show you what a girl can do..."Megan said as she struggled.
"Time out, let's at least get out of this first..."Andy said as he finally managed to dislodge himself from the door.
The siblings were now inside the house and all sent each other looks.
"You guys are going down..."Megan said as she rolled up her sleeves.
"We'll see about that, Pest..."Andy said as he charged at them.
Soon, the younger Shortman siblings were cornered and Andy began tickling his sister all over.
"Stop!...NO! Andy!..."Megan said in between her laughter as her brother kept at it.
"Get her, Andy..."Henry said as he watched the "fight".
Soon, Megan managed to pull away and began tickling him back but it was cut short.
"Kids, what's going on in here?..."Their father's voice was heard as he walked in.
Andy and Megan stopped their rough-housing and adopted innocent looks.
"Just playing, Dad..."Andy said, since it was sorta true.
"Yeah, just playing..."Megan said in an innocent tone.
"I see...well, come on, it's lunch time..."Arnold said as he picked Henry up.
"Hey, Daddy..."Henry said as he smiled innocently.
"Hey Little Guy, having fun with your brother and sister?..."He asked.
"Yup..."Henry said, smiling.
Soon, the family went to go have lunch together in the dining room, where the mother was waiting for them.
Later
The Shortman family were now gathered together, eating sandwiches for lunch and talking.
"Mom, can I have seconds?..."Andy said after eating his first sandwich.
"Sure, you worked up quite an appetite..."Helga said as she handed him another one.
"Sports does that..."Arnold said as he ate his own share.
After that was done, the oldest kid soon turned to his parents since he and his sister wanted to ask a question.
"So, Mom. Dad. Can we watch a movie tonight?..."Andy asked.
"Depends, what movie?..."Helga asked as she and Arnold cleared the table.
"It's a simple, fun movie for kids my age..."Andy said with an innocent look.
"About Family and traveling..."Megan added, making it sound wholesome but Helga raised a brow at that.
She knew her kids and she also knew that there has to be more than this.
"Uh-huh?..."Helga said as she knew better. "This movie wouldn't happen to be the new Evil Twin Movie: Twins on a Trip of Terror..."Helga said and her kids had sheepish looks on their faces.
"Uh...Maybe..."She said.
"Megan, are you sure? I heard that new one is more intense than the other Evil Twin Movies, including the original trilogy..."Arnold said as he recalled the films from his youth.
"Dad, come on. Evil Twins are classics..."Andy said.
"And all my friends have already seen it. I can't be the only kid in my class not to see it..."Megan said dramatically.
"Plus, it's still has a PG rating..."Andy pointed out.
Their parents thought about it and Helga sighed. Usually, she is pretty overprotective of her kids and pays extra close attention to what they watch, but the Evil Twin movies are PG rated and she can't exactly deny them the right to watch it since she had seen the original films at their age...plus, her kids are tough and don't get frightened so fast by these sort of things.
She sent a look to her husband, who nodded and she sighed.
"All right, you guys can watch the movie but no fighting or yelling at each other like the last time..."Helga said.
Andy and Megan smiled.
"Thanks, Mom..."Andy and Megan said as they both kissed her on the cheek.
Helga smiled while Henry smiled wider.
"Yeah, thanks Mommy. This is gonna be a cool movie..."Henry said but his parents shook their heads.
"I don't think so, Henry. You're not watching that movie..."Helga said.
"What? Why not?..."Henry asked in a whiny way.
"Henry, your 4 years old and this is a PG horror movie. You are too young to see Evil Twin movies..."Helga said protectively.
"No, I'm not. I'm a big boy...I can watch it..."Henry said but Helga shook her head.
"I said no..."She said sternly.
"Why?..."Henry whined and his mother sighed.
"Henry, scary movies don't agree with you..."Helga pointed out. "Remember the time you saw Killer Vegetables from Space III, you were so scared, you avoided onions for a month..."Helga reminded.
She wondered how such a lousy movie from her youth managed to get two sequels but Henry saw it while at a friends house and didn't enjoy it, but for different reasons.
"That's the past...I was 3 back then...I'm four now and I can handle it!..."The little boy insisted. "Please! Daddy?..."Henry then turned to his father, who shook his head.
"Sorry Henry but your mother is right. It's too scary and you are too young..."Arnold said in a serious voice.
Henry looked upset at this and pouted more.
"What's the big deal?..."Megan said.
"Yeah, I've already seen that movie over at Kiara's house and you can clearly tell that the brains are oatmeal..."Andy said but their parents opinion remained unchanged.
"Please, Mommy?..."Henry asked again, giving his mother puppy dog eyes.
However, Helga did not fall for it.
"Henry, if that didn't work with your brother or sister at that age, it's not gonna work for you. I said no..."Helga said, being firm.
Henry heard this and pouted more. His older siblings felt a little sorry for him.
"Sorry, little bro..."Andy said as he knew from experience that his mom isn't gonna change her mind.
"Yeah, sorry..."Megan said before she left to go get ready for the movie.
Andy also left, leaving the little boy alone to sulk.
"No fair..."He muttered as he barely touched the rest of his lunch.
