Chapter 1: A sealing jewel mishap

"Naruto, don't you think that we should be doing this with clones? What would happen if it goes awry?" was Ino's worried question as she, Naruto, and Hinata were inside their home, or more specifically the seal testing room.

The room is where Naruto usually tries out new seals whether for the mundane, such as removing dust or graffiti, to the more combative seals, such as chakra disruption seals, genjutsu seals, or weight seals.

Naruto was standing over a large scroll that had a complex seal that he had to work out from getting a glimpse at it from his sensei, Jiraiya.

The old pervert had shown Naruto the seal for a brief instant during their trip to retrieve Tsunade. The issue was that when he was shown the seal, the old perv saw a woman walk by and went after her, with the damn piece of paper that had the seal on it. When the old perv got back, he had a black eye and the paper with the seal on it soaked in sake. Apparently, in his drunken stupor, he spilled a drink onto the woman and used the first thing he had in his pocket, which turned out to be the seal.

Naruto was not amused and he had pranked the old man for an entire week because of it. Using genjutsu tags that made every naked female look like a naked Gai was the biggest one. oh, he could still hear the screams of horror and laugh at the memory.

Naruto looked at Ino and shook his head "sorry, we aren't testing this out. Besides, I already got it sorta figured out. I just always end up looking at this every time I come in here. Anyway, you said you needed some storage scrolls for your joint mission with each other's team. Come on." he led them to a wall that had shelves of different-sized scrolls. "How much stuff do you have?"

Hinata twiddled her fingers in thought as she spoke "well….. It's a two-month-long mission so we need one that has room for our weapons, clothing, food rations, camping equipment, and possibly anything that we might run into on the road."

Naruto scratched his head as he thought about which scroll would work best. He made different sealing scrolls that held different amounts as each one requires a certain amount of chakra. The larger the load the more chakra needed. Sure, in the general aspect of it, you don't need a lot of chakra to begin with, but even the smallest amount can help.

Tenten can attest to that since she uses different scrolls for different-sized weapons.

Naruto pulled out one of the larger scrolls he made and placed it on the ground. "I should start charging for these since I pay for the paper and ink to make these." he pulled out a few smaller scrolls to sort out what goes in what before he suddenly felt slender arms wrap around his neck

Ino hugged Naruto from behind and leaned her head on his shoulder. "Aw~ you wouldn't do that to us, now would you Naruto?" she gently blew on his ear before placing a kiss on his cheek. She smiled deviously as she saw his blush reach his ears

"Wha…. well… I …. Um…..you…...uh."

Ino enjoyed watching her boyfriend become a stuttering mess from this little show of affection. He may be more powerful than any of the other rookies and, heck, even many of the jonin, and possibly the Hokage but she could still make him act this way with such a simple act.

Naruto's brain was stalling at the moment as this was an unexpected action from Ino. he would have continued until he heard his father speak

"Whipped heh heh heh."

Tha snapped Naruto out of his stuttering and he used the Kawarimi to switch places with someone

"Eep!"

Naruto was now standing where Hinata once was and looked to see the girl in his place. He cleared his throat as he asked "do you already have your supplies somewhere?"

The slightly blushing Hinata nodded "we gathered them and put them in the courtyard."

Naruto nodded as he quickly left to avoid another embarrassing moment with Ino

Ino smirked as she watched Naruto leave.

"Did you have to do that Ino?"

Ino turned her head to see Hinata pouting at her. She giggled at the sight as she tightened her hug on Hinata and leaned her head on her shoulder while looking at the entrance that Naruto used to leave the room. "You don't have to be so jealous Hinata. You know it's how I am around him."

"Liar."

Another giggle from the blonde before she kissed Hinata's cheek "hey, you better get as much affection from him since we will be gone for two months. I'm doing it, so why don't you?" she released Hinata before she went to follow Naruto.

Hinata pouted again before she ran after the two blondes

"No Akamaru! I am not going to store all your dog treats in one of these so you can snack on the latter!"

*arf*

"I'm not a dog, so you can't bribe me with some of them!"

*arf*

"Call me stingy all you want. It won't change the fact that you won't be taking your treats with you. If you really want them, ask Kiba to carry them for you."

Naruto, Hinata, and Ino walked back into the seals testing room with the blondes carrying several small scrolls in their arms while the blunette held onto one of his arms

As they made their way to the large scroll Naruto left by the wall, Ino looked at the large seal array they saw earlier. "Hey Naruto, what is the seal suppose to do anyway?"

They made it to the large scroll with Hinata pouting that she had to let go of him as they opened it to put the smaller scrolls on it. "It's a version of my dad's Hirashin."

Ino looked gobsmacked at what he had just said "wait! You're telling me that you recreated one of the most famous jutsu your dad ever made?!"

Naruto nodded as he walked over to Ino and took the scrolls she had in her arms "yep." he then walked back to the larger scroll and put them with the others "though it's not the same as the one my dad used. And I'm working on this seal based on the quick glimpse I got from the pervy sage. I was able to get it to mostly work but it still has its drawbacks."

Hinata placed the last small scroll on the larger scroll's seal array as she asked "like what?"

Naruto stood up before he put his hands in a hand sign causing the smaller scrolls to vanish in a puff of smoke. Once they were gone, he rolled up the larger scroll before he pulled out a medium-size scroll and sealed the larger one in it. He handed it to Hinata as he smiled "let me show you."

The two females moved to a side of the room while Naruto moved to another wall and opened a door that held several different scrolls that had colored trimming. Naruto pulled out one of them and opened it on the other side of the room adjacent to the previous seal array.

Hinata saw that it was the exact same seal array as the other one.

Naruto moved to the first and placed a kunai on it "ok, I was able to get it to work but the issue is reappearing at the second array."

Ino crossed her arms as she tilted her head "like what? Missing pieces?"

Naruto shuddered as he remembered some early attempts "that was the first few attempts. Sometimes, only half the kunai would reappear. But now…." he stood up and did the ram seal as he activated the jutsu.

In a dull green flash, the kunai disappeared before reappearing at the second array

Hinata looked confused at this as she spoke "it looks like it worked."

Naruto chuckled "give it a second."

The three watched the kunai for a second before the females went wide-eyed as the paper the kunai was on, spontaneously burst into flames.

Naruto went through hand signs and let out a small burst of water to put the fire out. Once that was done he looked to the girls "that's what happens. Whatever I put ends up so heated that the paper bursts into flames." he moved over to the ashes as he sighed "I have an idea to fix it but it's gonna take a while."

The girls nodded as it was clear to see the issue with the jutsu was. The girls looked at the clock to see that they had about an hour till they were to meet with the rest of their teams. Ino spoke up for the two "we've got about an hour till we have to go, wanna hang out till then?"

Naruto smiled as he nodded. "Sure. you girls are gonna be gone for two months so let's do something fun for the hour you guys have left."

The girls nodded with Hinata latching onto Naruto's left arm and Ino giggling at the action.

Ino put the scroll in a pack she had on her back as the three began to walk towards the exit. "hey, Naruto, what would happen if there wasn't a second array?"

They paused in their walking as Naruto looked at the array to his right "when I tried it, the kunai just disappeared. I used clones and a few of them ended up at random spots. While the others…...just disappeared. I don't know if it is because the array is incomplete or the lack of a second marker but I need to make sure I get it right before I can use it like my dad."

Hinata looked up at Naruto as she asked "why don't you ask your father? Maybe he knows."

Naruto thought about it for a second before he got his answer

"I am a being of chakra and I don't use jutsu. Why the hell would I know anything about how his jutsu works when I never needed such a thing and when I don't have the best relationship with that Ningen."

Naruto sweatdropped as the statement of not really needing to use jutsu could also apply to him but he still used them. He looked to Hinata as he answered her "my dad and father never got along and Rama never cared about learning anything humans did with chakra."

They could see that since as a bijuu, he was powerful enough to not really need jutsu.

They were about to continue walking when Ino saw something. "uh….Naruto...is it supposed to do that?"

Naruto looked back to Ino to see her pointing at something. Following her finger, he saw she was pointing at the sealing array. The glowing sealing array. He went wide-eyed as the light got brighter "no! It's not!"

Before he could even do anything, the light became blinding and in a pink flash, the three disappeared

~meanwhile~

Kagome was aiming her bow at the crow demon that had just taken the Shikon jewel. She narrowed her eyes as she aimed the arrow that had one of the crow's feet tied to it. 'With The foot being drawn to the jewel, there is no doubt it will hit!' she let the arrow fly and watched as it soared right towards the crow.

Inuyasha watched in shock as the arrow flew right at its target "no way!"

The arrow struck true to the crow, causing its body to be destroyed while the jewel inside its body cracked.

More cracks appeared on the jewel until it could no longer hold together and shattered into thousands of pieces. The power within launched the shards to scatter across the land in a bright show of pink light

Kaede along with the other villagers looked up in shock seeing the light show

Kagome brought her hand up to shield her eyes from the light. Through squinted eyes she noticed something fall into the forest. 'What was that?'

Inuyasha had his eyes closed as he could no longer handle the light. Once the light died down he opened his eyes and glared at where the crow once was "Damn crow!" he looked towards Kagome before jumping over to her "hey, did you see if the jewel fell over there?"

Kagome looked to him before she meekly nodded "uh….yeah."

"Then let's go!"

Inuyasha and Kagome were now looking around the forest where they saw the jewel fall.

Inuyasha was looking around frantically as he was so close to getting what he desired most "are you sure it's around here?"

Kagome was a few steps behind him as she was also looking on the ground to see if she could find the jewel. "Yeah. I saw it fall around here. Do you think that..."

"Shh!"

Kagome became offended at the fact that she was being silenced in such a way "well excuse me for….."

Inuyasha turned to her as he harshly whispered "be quiet!"

Kagome shrunk in on herself as she asked in a whisper "what is it?"

Inuyasha turned away from her as he glared into the forest "something's here." he didn't know what it was but his instincts were telling him he was in trouble. He kept looking around but couldn't see anything.

Kagome saw the hesitation and slight fear Inuyasha had on his face and this did not help her nerves. She looked around to see if she could spot what was making him so nervous but all she saw were the leaves of the trees and the bushes around them.

After a second of not seeing anything and sweating a bit, Inuyahs sniffed the air for a bit "I smell a fox!"

"And I smell a mutt."

Inuyasha and Kagome looked around as the unfamiliar voice sounded as if it was all around them

Inuyasha flexed his claws as he shouted out into the forest "Show yourself!" he waited for only a second until he felt something metallic and sharp pressed on the side of his neck. He gulped as he did not even notice anyone get close to them

"You shouldn't act so high and mighty if you get caught so easily."

Inuyasha turned his gaze to his left to see spiky blonde hair and narrowed blue eyes with slitted pupils

Kagome turned to see someone holding Inuyahsh at knifepoint "Inuyasha!" she took a single step before she felt something sharp pressed against her neck.

"I wouldn't move if I were you."

Kagome turned her head to see a girl with long blonde hair holding the knife while another girl with short blue hair in some sort of stance and with what looked like popping veins around her eyes. Eyes that to her looked like she was blind.

Inuyasha grit his teeth as he flexed his hand, ready to strike the blonde down. But the knife at his neck pressed harder and caused him to bleed a little

"Ah ah. Don't even think about it. I could kill you in an instant if you make a wrong move."

Inuyasha hated the fact that in a sense, the guy was right. Sure something like this shouldn't be a problem if it was just a lowly human but his gut told him not to move. He then heard the blonde speak again

"Now I have a question for you."

Inuyasha glared at the blonde as he spat out "yeah? And what's that?"

The blonde narrowed his eyes and asked "who are you, and where are we?

End of chapter

The relation between the three shinobi and Kagome and Inuyasha won't be negative. They are just handling the odd situation they are in.

Naruto, Ino, and Hinata are 13 in this. I boosted up their age to have them close to the age group as the rest. Though I could come up with some weird crap saying that the jewel aged them up higher. Food for thought

Ok as some of you who have read my other "Fox in the leaf" side story, I have altered the way they ended up in a new world since I got a bunch of complaints about how it was stupid of Naruto to do something despite how kids tend to do dumb things at times. It uses a similar build-up but Naruto is not the cause of it. It was a mixture of his seal and the power of the jewel. In case it wasn't made clear, the pink flash is to show that it is linked to the Shikon jewel. This will help clear up some things later on such

I was planning on having this chapter go into Yura of the hair but I felt like I could just have that for the next chapter

Ok before I continue to talk about this story, this crossover was the next on the poll list after fairy tail. The one after this one was "my daily life with monster girls" and after that was "Ranma ½." (justice league was potentially pushed out). For the monster girl one, I had a thought about when they enter that world, something might happen to Ino and Hinata to change them into monster girls. Is it a dumb idea? yes. Does it really matter? not really. The anime is a comedy more than anything and it's fanfic. We writers can do anything with it.

Ok for those who have NOT read my story "Fox in the leaf", to clarify Naruto, Ino and Hinata are in a relationship and are FAR more powerful than their canon counterparts. Also, Naruto has a big secret….to those who haven't read it. A part of me wants to tell but another part wants me to keep it a secret till he uses it. I'll hold off on it till the big reveal

Now as with many of my other fics, I don't really know how things will go in it so even I don't know what will happen further on. I do think of key points that can be used but I also do accept suggestions as sometimes I might use them or they could give me an idea on what to do later on. So I don't mind those.

(sorry, there is a mini-rant up ahead. So sorry and know that it isn't directed towards anyone specific. So sorry again)

If you are going to flame it or complain about something or even nitpick I must bring up my thoughts on it. Unless you have a story of your own that is extremely popular and/or plan on making a career in writing, I will NOT listen to your flames. Criticism I can take, complaints just waste time. So please if you are just going to say, "it's trash" "it's garbage" or "you suck and should die" then show me that you have a story more popular than MY most popular story cause unless you show me that, than sorry, I won't listen to you.

Sorry about that, but I have seen many readers say such things and don't even realize that comments like that can kill a story and in some cases kill the writer. I don't tolerate such things since we writers of fics are doing this for FUN. we don't get paid (unless they ask for money to continue the story), we do this on our time and we do it for others to enjoy. If you don't like it, then why are you here?
