Elt was cornered. Lescatie had been invaded by some of the most aggressive Mamono known to man. An Ushi-Oni had him backed against a wall. He shivered, thinking that he was done for. The Ushi-Oni licked her lips and reached an arm out to grab Elt, fully intending to subject him to unspeakable horrors. Elt closed his eyes, bracing himself for the worst. However, a strange mechanical buzzing sound filled the air, accompanied by a surprised yell from the Ushi-Oni. Elt cautiously opened his eyes and discovered that the Ushi-Oni's arm had been completely severed. He turned his gaze to his savior, and his eyes fell upon a peculiar man. The man stood before him, holding a bizarre-looking device in his hands, and he himself had a rather unconventional appearance. Unshaven, wearing a white t-shirt with the right sleeve ripped off to reveal a tattoo on his right arm, jeans, and red sneakers. A smirk adorned his face.

"C'MON LADIES, LET'S GET SERIOUS!" he yelled.

Sam had finally achieved his goal. After a long and arduous battle with Mordekai the summoner and Mental's horde of minions, he stood outside the gate of the Church of the Holy Blood. As the gate swung open, Sam confidently stepped into the church. Directly in front of him lay the Holy Grail, the object he sought. A smirk played on his lips. With the Holy Grail in his possession, he only needed to accomplish one more task. He made his way to the confessional booths and dialed a number. After what seemed like an eternity, the call was answered.

"Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned," said Sam.

"I'm not your father!" came the voice of Mental.

"Oh yeah, that's the other movie. Anyway, I do have a few things I'd like to confess."

"Go on," Mental replied.

"I've been bad. I've followed the path leading to your being, but I must admit I almost strayed away. Along my journey, I encountered great temptations. It seems there have been a few unfortunate casualties in the past few days, and I'm really sorry about those. Not! I might have dropped a few bombs here and there, but fortunately, some of your employees caught them. Apparently, I also mildly murdered many of your staff, which indeed might be the case, and I'm almost sorry about that, so I hope that counts. Oh yeah, I might've used some colorful language from time to time, but who gives a crap! Finally, I'm heading straight towards you, and nothing, but nothing, can drag me away from your path. So please have faith in this one thing."

Sam brought the receiver closer to his mouth.

"I'm coming to get YOU!"

With that, Sam hung up the phone and proceeded to the backup starship left behind by the Sirians. As the ship began its countdown, Sam reclined in the pilot seat and let out a sigh of relief. Now that he had left the atmosphere, he could finally relax a little. He had come so far to reach this point—from Egypt to the Aztecs, Babylon, and finally, Eastern Europe. It had taken him a while, but he had made it. Now, all he had to do was contemplate the countless ways to eliminate Mental. Lost in thought, he failed to notice a strange glow emanating from his body.

"What the!?" he exclaimed. A bright light filled the cockpit, and suddenly, Sam found himself transported out of the ship and into a pure white void.

"Am I dead?" Sam asked himself, surveying the vast emptiness.

"No, my child, far from it," came a voice. Sam turned to see a silhouette of a woman covered in a radiant golden light.

"Are you the one they call Sam Stone?" she asked.

"That depends, do I owe you money?" Sam retorted. The woman let out a small laugh before saying, "No, you do not."

"Then yeah, Sam I am. Who the hell are you, and more importantly, what am I doing here?" he inquired.

"I am called The Chief God, and I summoned you here because I need your help," the Chief God explained. "I need a hero to slay the current Demon Lord."

"You want me to kill demons? Sorry, that ain't my line of work. That's more of Daniel's thing," Sam replied.

"Please, Sam. I've witnessed the things you've done, the things you're capable of. You are a man who can defy the odds no matter what. I implore you, save my world, and I will aid you in saving yours."

Sam scratched his chin, deep in thought. The idea of being offered help did sound appealing, and she was a goddess seeking to assist her people. Would he be making the right choice by turning her down?

"Alright, fine, I'll help," Sam said. Though he couldn't see her face, he could sense her smile.

"Thank you, Sam. I truly appreciate this. Before I send you to my world, I must warn you: the monsters that roam my realm are far different from the monsters of old. If one approaches you, kill it without hesitation."

Sam took a deep breath, and as his vision faded to black, the last thought that crossed his mind was, "What the hell have I gotten myself into?" before succumbing to unconsciousness.
