A large silver RV roared down the streets, dodging every stop and speed sign as it finally pulled into Daten City. Jack sighed as he was happy to see his kids again. Maddie sat in the passage seat, sighing to herself.
"I understand you wanted to see them again, Jack, but I told you we should call them first," Maddie said.
"Come on, Mads! We should surprise them! The kids will love that!" Jack said.
"Sweetie, I love you, but Danny and Jazz aren't children anymore. Not everyone would like a sudden surprise." Maddie told him.
Jack thought about it and saw her point. However, they were already in Daten City. Might as well keep it a surprise.
"I guess your right. And to make it more surprising, I'll follow the rules of the road here. They never think that's me!" Jack said.
Maddie nods. Between them, she was better at following the rules behind the wheel. She only breaks them when there's a ghost or her kids are in danger. Maddie then turns her thoughts to Danny's new girlfriend, Stocking. For a long time, she thought that Danny and Sam would be together. Danny and Stocking did look nice together and Stocking did treat Danny right. From the looks of it, they're both taking it slow.
"Maddie? Are you okay?" Jack asked, from the corner of his eyes.
"Just thinking about Danny's new girl. I'll admit she's very sweet for a goth and makes Danny happy, but..." Maddie said, going into her thoughts.
"Well, I like her too. And she's a ghost hunter to boot!" Jack said.
However, Maddie remembers one other thing about Stocking. She was an angel that was kicked out of heaven itself. However, it seems that Stocking was kind to her son, and Danny cared about her happiness. She hoped they weren't fooling around.
Jack then spots another car drive past them, not caring about the rules. However, Jack was able to spot one person he knew.
"Jazz?" He asked, shocked.
"What?" Maddie asked.
Jack didn't answer her. Forgetting the surprise, Jack floored it, following the car he saw. If they were out hunting ghosts, then he could finally have some bonding time with his kids again!
Later,
Jazz sighs as she tosses her Back Lace to Panty as Danny catches the coin that heads towards them. Panty and Stocking sigh both of them actually have plans today with Danny and Jazz. While they were still on the lookout for the rest of the sins, they did want to enjoy a few things with the Fenton Siblings.
"So? What did you two want to do?" Danny asked as Jazz hid behind a brush.
"We were hoping that you and your sister could go to the mall with us," Panty said.
"And make me carry everything because of my powers?" Danny asked, glaring at her.
"No, we don't plan on buying a lot of things this time. We heard about the sales going on and want to check it out. We also learned that they're selling a few space items you might like." Stocking said.
"Okay," Danny said, smiling.
"Jazz?" Panty asked.
"As long as you don't get me to dress like you, I'm in." She said, walking back up.
"FREEZE SPOOK!"
Danny and Jazz both blinked before seeing their father jump out of nowhere, ready to fight as their mother walked out.
"Jack, the ghost is already gone," Maddie said.
"What?" Jack said, looking around.
Sure enough, there was no sign of the ghost, just his kids and their friends.
"Oh, man. I was hoping to fight a ghost with my kids." Jack said, sadly.
"Mom? Dad? What are you two doing here?!" Danny asked, shocked.
"Um, surprise?" Jack said, sheepishly.
"Sorry to drop by, kids. But we wanted to visit you for some time." Maddie said, hoping they weren't mad.
Danny and Jazz shook their heads. It was just like their parents. They walked up and hugged them. Jack and Maddie were surprised but soon returned it.
"It's good to see you," Jazz said before nodding at Danny.
Danny wastes no time in phasing all the weapons they had off them before Jazz scoops them up. She ran back to the RV and tossed them inside before grabbing the keys Jack left and locked the RV. It happened so fast, their parents didn't notice until after Jazz pocketed the keys.
"What?" Jack asked, shocked.
"Mom, Dad, as long as you two are guests in this city, you're not allowed to hunt ghosts," Danny said as Jazz walked up.
"And until you leave, you will not hunt any ghosts as long as we're here." She added.
Jack and Maddie looked shocked before their kids hugged them again.
"That being said, it's good to see you." They said.
Jack and Maddie smiled and hugged them back. Panty and Stocking both walked up, a bit surprised to see Danny and Jazz react that way, but understood their reasons.
"So are you two up for a shopping trip?" Panty asked.
"Yeah." Danny and Jazz said.
"Shopping?" Jack asked.
Daten Mall,
Panty and Jazz were with Maddie, looking over their choice of clothes. Panty's clothes looked more like the model's clothes as Jazz got normal clothes. Maddie watched as the two girls seemed to get along and even argued over a shirt that Panty wanted Jazz to wear.
'They're having fun...' Maddie thought, feeling a bit sad.
"Just try it on! You don't have to buy it!" Panty said.
"Knowing you, you will buy and give it to me!" Jazz told her.
"I would." Panty smirks.
Jazz groans before turning to her mother.
"Mom? Are you okay?" Jazz asked, seeing her in thought.
"What? Oh! I'm fine. Just thinking." Maddie said, trying to play it off.
However, Jazz has grown since she left and knew her mother was not fine.
"Mom, life in Daten City is not the same as Amity Park. I know you're nowhere near fine." Jazz said.
Maddie sighed knowing her daughter was right.
"Well, unlike your father, I didn't think that you and Danny would take up ghost hunting, but I did wish for a day that I could spend with you again like when you were younger, and yet, I feel I'm not the same mother I use to be. I was able to reconnect with Danny for a short time, and you did that with your father too, but it seems that it just...disappeared." Maddie said.
Jazz sighed, understanding what she was saying. It was true that she and Danny reconnected with their parents for a short time, but it never seemed to last.
"Look, Mom, you know that Danny and I love you, but there are times we think that you don't love us." Jazz said, coming clean about something.
"What?" Maddie asked, hurt.
"For a long time, you and Dad were all about ghosts. When I was born, you guys took care of me and placed any ghost ideas on the side. It happened again with Danny. But as we grew older, you two started to focus more on ghosts than us. I know you try to look out for us, but with how much you keep your attention on Ghosts than us, we started to think that you two love ghosts more. And when I learned Danny had ghost powers, I thought you might have loved him more if he came clean at some point. I thought you might love me more if I was a ghost too. And I don't mean by killing myself. I might have done the same as Danny and given myself Ghost Powers too." Jazz said.
Even Panty was surprised to hear that.
"Jazz, why?" Maddie asked.
"I only didn't do that because I learned that Danny was lucky to survive. I did learn if I had done it, I had a much higher chance of dying instead of getting powers." Jazz told her.
"That's a bumper. It would be great to have another Phantom. Might even help when that guy tried to blackmail us." Panty said.
"Blackmail!?" Maddie shouted, shocked.
Jazz glares at Panty before sighing. She was not looking forward to this.
Meanwhile,
Danny looked over the many space items that were on sale. Stocking giggles as her boyfriend looked excited. However, Jack was with them and was trying his best to be happy for Danny.
"Mr. Fenton?" Stocking asked.
"I'm fine," Jack said, but Stocking didn't believe him.
"No, you're not. There is no ghost sale happening, and you're only pretending to like this for him." Stocking said, hitting the nail on the head.
Jack flinched and looked away. He knew his kids had their own dreams, but he really wanted them to be ghost hunters like himself.
"Mr. Fenton, not everyone shares the same thing as you do. Yes, both of your kids hunt ghosts with us, but it's because they want to help. Danny never fought to destroy ghosts because they're evil. There was one time he was held prisoner and a ghost freed him. It told Danny that not all ghosts are evil. Danny had many allies in the Ghost Zone that he helped because they weren't evil. Like it or not, you're wrong about Ghosts." Stocking said, making him look away.
"But what about the Ghosts here?" Jack asked.
"That's because they're from Hell itself. They are far more dangerous than the ones from the Ghost Zone. We destroy them because they are too dangerous to be left alone. We once had to stop a ghost that wanted to kill off children because he wanted to wipe out all humans." Stocking said, surprising him.
Stocking sighs, remembering how angry both she and Panty were when they first heard about that ghost. There was no fooling around, there was no argument, there was no joking about the ghost. They hunted the ghost down and killed him. They even pay respects to the kids that it did kill, one of them was Steve's brother.
It still made her upset whenever she thought about that ghost. In fact, both she and Panty threw the coin away, not wanting to use it after the horrible crime it did.
"Danny wasn't sure about it at first, but once he saw how different hell ghosts were, he understood why we destroyed Ghosts. However, we'll never force him to become something he's not." Stocking said.
She still remembers Danny telling her and Panty about his biggest fear. And she could see the fear in his eyes whenever he talked about HIM. And since HE was able to lay the world to waste, Stocking was sure that HE killed both her and Panty in that timeline. Stocking and Panty both promise Danny they will help him not become that ghost.
"So, um, how is Danny treating you?" Jack asked, unsure.
Stocking looks at him before she smiles.
"He's treats me well. He's very kind and very cute. I don't get how he would treated like some kind of whimp. Who cares that he doesn't have muscles? Danny is the nicest boy I met. He might be my second boyfriend, but he's the best one I had." Stoking said, thinking over the months they've been together.
"Your second boyfriend?" Jack asked.
"Yes, I used to date a ghost named Patrick. While he was rude to everyone, and me, I still love him because I care about the person. He even went so far as to ask me to marry him." Stocking said.
"YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO GET MARRIED?!" Jack shouted, causing many people to look at him.
"It was right then that he went to heaven before I could answer. So, no, I'm not married. It wasn't until I met Danny that I fell in love again. Danny was so sweet and kind and he understood that I was different and didn't care. With each passing day, I find myself loving him more and more." Stocking said, sighing.
"And yes, I do want to move on to the next step of our relationship, but Danny wants be to comfortable first." She told him.
Jack was surprised but at the same glad. He was glad that Danny was smart enough not to do that. And while Stocking wanted to, it was clear she wasn't trying to force him.
"Yeah, Stocking, I'm back!" Danny said, and the two shared a kiss.
"Get what you need?" She asked, seeing him smile.
"You bet! I even got you something." Danny said, reaching into the bag.
Danny pulled out a locket that was shaped like a star. He opened it to show pictures of the two together. The left side had the picture of their first date. The right side had them during their first stargazing, where they had their first kiss.
"You liar! You told me that you didn't take any pictures!" Stocking laughs.
Danny smirks as they share another kiss. Jack sighed, seeing how happy Danny was with her. He had to remember that his kids were growing up and moving on. He needs to be happy and accept it.
And stopping here. So, I brought in Jack and Maddie for the third visit and that leaves Panty's and Stocking's uncle for the next chapter. I'm a bit surprised no one tried to guess who he was. And since Panty and Stocking are angels, their uncle is an angel himself.
So, Jack and Maddie got to spend time with their kids and the girls they were with. The one thing I remember when explaining why Jazz didn't try to get ghost powers was something Butch Hartman said himself. He said that Danny was lucky to get ghost powers. Had anyone else tried, they were most likely to get killed. So that's Jazz's reason for not having powers.
Stocking told Jack a bit about her past and her last boyfriend. I do recall watching that episode, but it was a long time ago. However, since Danny is already aware of him and Stocking is happy with Danny, Jack decides to let his son be happy.
By the way, I have noticed that I haven't used the fusions as much as I thought I would. The last time I did was back when Scanty and Kneesocks took Steve to hell. I'm going to try and give them their own chapters in the future.
