Episode 4

(Narration.)

"Pierce hates narration for no reason. Seeing as she also hates exposition, foreshadowing and recaps, she basically hates every way the game can use to give necessary evidence to the players. I have to conclude she would only be satisfied if the game threw us into a case with no clue as to why or how we got there. Although, seeing how many times I've had to spoon-feed information to her, she probably would sin that to. There is just way for the games to win here!" one sin added.

(Apollo compares the law to terrorism, foreshadowing the first case.)

"Two sins here. One, because Apollo does not compare the law to terrorism. He just says the fact somebody had the guts to activate a bomb in a courtroom filled with people shows just how terrible the state of the legal system is. And two, because, apart from the fact you hate foreshadowing for no reason, I'm not sure saying something that has already happened in-game and something the players are all aware of counts as foreshadowing." Two sins added.

[(Bomb in rocket detonates) Something tells me this wasn't part of the equipment check.]

"Really?! How did you manage to figure that out?! Your deductive skills would put Herlock Sholmes to shame! You are wasting your potential by writing here! Go and open a private office!" one sin added.

(Also, if the bomb went off where it did in the cutscene, it should have ignited the fuel in the rocket's fuel tank. If it didin't, why the fuck not? If it did, the space center should not be standing right now. It should be burnt to the ground. Even if the launch was a fake, you're telling me nobody put any fuel in this bitch?)

"No. Why would they? You just said the launch was a fake. The real rocket was swapped with the model from the space museum for the very purpose of averting sabotage. But they still feared the spy might plant a bomb in the real rocket. So…why would they put fuel in it? If they did, the bomb would indeed have destroyed the entire center. It seems you have forgotten the whole point of this switcheroo was to keep the damage as minimal as possible." One sin added.

(Suspenseful music is set to a person walking, carrying a person and then falling. What a waste of good music.)

"From the players' point of view, those two just walked outside of a rocket that exploded. Since one of the is limping, he might have been injured gravely by the explosion. And both of them as seen falling down and since they are wearing helmets, we can't tell if they just passed out or passed away. So, yes, the suspenseful music is warranted here." One sin added.

[(Showing us Clay stabbed.) How long is that knife? I'm no expert on spacesuits, but the knife would have to be pretty long-and the killer pretty powerful-to cut through the spacesuit and the body to deliver a stab deep enough to kill Clay Terran. It would also have to puncture deep enough to damage internal organs, seeing as it was never removed which rules out death by blood loss. And on top of that, they had to get it all done in one try, seeing as there is only one stab wound. This is incredibly difficult for a killer without experience or anatomical knowledge. All that in mind…why does Athena become a suspect again?]

"It's not that hard actually. Spacesuits are surprisingly fragile. They protect against cold, radiation and other space hazards, but are not very useful against conventional weapons like bullets and knives. He was also stabbed in the chest, which is a very weak spot on the human body since the heart and lungs are located there. And if the killer stabbed him once and kept pushing the knife further into the body, there is a good chance he would die very quickly. And also, Athena becomes a suspect because the lighter that was used by the killer had her fingerprints on it and that's all the proof the court would need." One sin added.

(Guy with supernatural eyesight can't see a girl knitting a scarf in front of him.)

"It's almost like he was distracted by his thoughts. His best friend was killed and his role model is being accused of the crime. He really has a lot on his mind right now." One sin added.

(I thought Phoenix Wright was Apollo's hero. So did this Starbuck guy get dual custody for the title, or did he replace after the events of turnabout trump? I can never be sure on this one.)

"It's almost like Phoenix and Starbuck work on compete different things. Phoenix is Apollo's hero in law, since he is the best lawyer and Apollo wanted to become a lawyer just like him. Starbuck on the other hand is an astronaut. Astronauts are usually deemed as national heroes since they are very brave and daring. And why can't Apollo have more than one role model? I want to be an actor, which is why I admire Jim Carrey who is one of the best comedians of all time. But when it comes to space, Neil Armstrong will always be my hero." One sin added.

(I get this guy is depressed, but there is no reason to sigh twice in a row. None!)

"Even if he is depressed? His dream of going to space has been crushed and he is being accused of his co-worker's murder. How much worse can things get for him?" one sin added.

[(Though I was gonna soar like a comet, but I crashed like a meteorite) Space jokes.]

"Sinning the space jokes." One sin added.

(Whoa…why does Apollo already have an eyepatch? Was it a souvenir from the aquarium case? You know, the one he wasn't even a part of?)

"The answer to this is quite simple actually: in the Cosmic turnabout's investigation segment, the one we don't see, it's stated they managed to get a look on the murder weapon, the knife. Athena claimed she had never seen that before, but that was a lie since it was the same knife she used to stab the phantom seven years earlier. Apollo noticed she reacted nervously, so he began to suspect her. But he felt bad for thinking something like that about his friend and co-worker and so, he wore that eyepatch over his one eye so he wouldn't be able to perceive her nervous ticks. How obvious it is you are an amateur at this." One sin added.

(We're only ten minutes in and Blackquill already needs to pay for another pair of handcuffs.)

"Sinning Blackquill for being a badass." One sin added.

[(Blackquill offers to give the opening statement.) You mean the prosecutor is doing his job properly? What an unprecedented surprise! I guess he didn't like our comment last chapter about him getting lazy.]

"Blackquill couldn't care less what you said. He has a much stronger motive to act like this here. In the previous cases, he didn't give a shit about formalities because he was a few months away from death. But now he thinks he has the man he has been chasing for more than seven years. He thinks Starbucks planted the explosives, and by extension, that he is the phantom. His execution is two days and this is his last chance to catch the guy before he is executed, so he can die relieved. So he refuses to accept the possibility the guy innocent and he's going all out. That's also why he's doing all this by the book. TO ensure there will be no chance he will get off the hook." One sin added.

"Also, Pierce sins something she likes cliché." One sin added

[(Something is off with the two of you today.) Yeah, I think Apollo finally took Blackquill up on his offer to share a prison cell. I'd say it didn't go very well.]

"Oh! So that's why they are like this? But of course! I thought it was because Apollo lost his best friend and his role model is accused of his murder and because this is Blackquill's final chance to get the spy he has been chasing for years before checking out for good. I was stupid to think it would be so simple. Shows what I know." one sin added.

[(Athena: does he even have fifty years left?) One of the writers forgot to put this text in blue. Luckily, Apollo caught their mistake.]

"I'm actually pretty sure it was done on purpose. The only mistake they made was thinking everyone would get the obvious joke. If they knew about you, they would have made the games a lot less boring." One sin added.

(Wait, Fulbright comes after a whistle? Is he a detective, a spy or a dog? I can never be sure on this one.)

"He's a spy posing as a detective that acts like Blackquill's dog to earn his trust so that Blackquill won't suspect he's a spy and not a detective. So simple." One sin added.

(Why was the second floor bombed? Did the phantom leave one of his bombs there on accident?)

"No. he planted three of them, all on purpose. One inside the rocket, one on the boarding lounge, hidden inside a phony phanty doll and one on the second floor. Again: you take days to write each chapter. Take 10 seconds to look it up in the wiki." One sin added.

(That knife is not long enough to kill clay Terran. See earlier rant.)

"It would be enough. See my earlier rant. And even more so since the killer is the phantom, an international spy who definitely has expert knowledge of the weak spots of the human anatomy." One sin added.

[(Fulbright's testimony) This testimony gets a lot creepier when you realize Fulbright was the killer all along. Just a fun thing to think about in hindsight.]

"Yes, it is pretty interesting to think about in retrospect. So…sinning this." One sin added.

(Apollo is way too calm to be on the defense bench right now. I get he's grieving…)

"Pierce answers her own question cliché." One sin added.

[(When Blackquill responds to Apollo's inner thoughts.) Either Blackquill can read minds or Athena's using her assistant powers and broadcasting it to Blackquill via their psychic link.]

"Or everyone being able to read the main lawyer's mind is a thing that has been going on in every case since the first game and you are still terrible at getting running gags. And this makes even more sense for Blackquill since he's an expert on psychology." One sin added.

(Does Blackquill believe Starbuck could have carried Clay's body that amount of distance in a fire?)

"I will stop you here. Pierce asks a series of logical questions here. And they all check out. Logically, it would seem pretty hard for Starbuck to have done all this. But…Blackquill is all but thinking logically now. He has one last chance to put the phantom away or he will die having failed in his mission and leaving the dark age of the law to reign for a long time. He is drowning in dense fog right now and is incapable of distinguishing the truth from the lies. I can see how you got confused. There are a lot of robots in these two cases, but Blackquill is not one of them. He's a human being." One sin added.

[(Blackquill gives Athena five seconds to regroup with Apollo.) Blackquill attended the Manfred von Karma school of running your own trials.]

"Pierce makes a reference to a different game that isn't a sin of this one cliché." One sin added.

(Apollo steals my argument from a few lines above. Everyone is a mind reader in this game.)

"Correction: in this series! And yes, they are. Glad you finally noticed. Don't get why you still sin, but you are getting better." One sin added.

(Wait…they actually did recover the bomb inside phony phanty? Why would the phantom put a bomb in a stuffed animal? Was the bomb detonated on the second floor inside a bum rap rhiny? Why was this ever a thing?)

"Because the bomb was plated on the boarding lounge. Unlike the one inside the rocket, this one would be easy to stumble upon if anyone walked in there. And if they found it, they might try to disarm it. If it was inside a stuffed animal, however, they would leave it there since they would think somebody forgot it there and would come back for it. So…that's why. You are underestimating the ability of an international spy to think ahead." One sin added.

[(Blackquill cuts off Apollo's objection.) Okay, now how did he figure out that one?]

"Okay…I was wrong, she still doesn't get it. She still doesn't get that's the joke. What a shame…" one sin added.

[(It's like Blackquill's controlling the entire game.) No, Simon Keyes is the one who masterminded the game. I know both characters were named Simon, but try not to confuse the two.]

"Pierce makes a reference to a different game that isn't a sin of this one cliché." One sin added.

[(When Blackquill calls Starbuck the arc villain.) Wow. He really thought Starbuck was the phantom. That would have been kinda cool, now that I think about it. Sin for it not happening.]

"So…it would have been cool if the guy we spent two days proving the innocence of was actually guilty? After we had established beyond any doubt he couldn't possibly have commited the crime? Which means we would have to act like the entire fourth case never happened? Pierce would suck at mystery writing." One sin added.

(Starbuck gives testimony.) Where did the clipboard come from?]

"Hyperspace." One sin added.

(Starbuck puts the helmet on.) We interrupt your regularly scheduled murder mystery to bring you…Buzz lightyear.]

"Pierce makes a pop culture reference that isn't a sin of this one cliché." One sin added.

[(Apollo calls Starbuck an octopus.) Octopus character did not make…]

"Skip!" one sin added.

(Why does the court have a cherry picker? And why does the bailiff know how to use it?)

"When you are a bailiff in this universe, you need to be prepared for anything!" one sin added.

[(Blackquill proves Starbuck was on meds.) Aren't there laws against going into space while drugged? There should be.]

"Maybe. But there aren't in the real life either. So you better respect that. The law is the law and you are not going to change it." One sin added.

[(Blackquill's "stabbed in a weak spot" explanation.) Cop out explanation is a cop out. That knife is too short to do the needed damage.]

"Even though the game just told you it did? A…are you seriously being told how Clay was killed, a perfectly valid explanation by the way since most of the vital organs are at the chest and spacesuits are basically useless against knives, and still don't accept it? The fuck?! And since you already sinned this, this counts as a double sin!" two sins added.

[(When Blackquill delivers the oxygen tank data by airsword.) Wait, is that how airsword works? Paper is folded to withstand the air pressure then thrown to make a slicing sound? That's...not possible.]

"Thank you for telling us about reality. Would you mind telling us about the game too? Because the game shows it is possible." One sin added.

[(When Starbuck gets fired up.) This countdown is cool and all, but now I'm worried the bomb's gonna go off. The next case chronologically is turnabout countdown after all.]

"I believe that's what the writers were going for. Since you didn't know when or how exactly the bomb went off, you would be constantly worried about it. It's called dramatic tension." One sin added.

[(Prosecutor Blackquill…you can't hurt me with a broken sword.) Whoa. Apollo just went Blkacquill on Blackquill. And now I can't stop thinking about Quillcest. Thanks, Apollo.]

"Pierce sins this awesome scene, which shows Apollo being more badass than fuckin' Blackquill…for the sake of making a cringey sexual joke. This one line says everything you need to know about her." One sin added.

"Also, she does remove a sin for this…and immediately adds it back for the sake of her cringey joke. Removing a sin and then re-adding it is tge same as just sinning it. Sure, the sin counter remains the same, but…not the sin counter in our hearts…" one sin added.

"Also, Pierce yells at the screen cliché." One sin added.

(Tonate appears.) Wait…Tonate saved everyone's life? Damn! If it hadn't been for him murdering Arme, he would have been this game's main hero.]

"Okay…and? What the hell is your point? You just said what is happening on the game, but didn't give any reasons why that is a sin. Tonate was not a good guy, but he wasn't pure evil like the phantom." One sin added.

(Switching to Phoenix's POV) More narration.]

"Pierce hates narration for no reason cliché." One sin added.

(Wait, is he talking to us? If so, that breaks the fourth wall.)

"Now you noticed? Who did you think everyone narrating in every game so far was talking to? You are more unobservant than I gave you credit for. The narration is meant exclusively for giving information to the players. In other words, this is what it's always supposed to be like. This is a game. Some things are meant for the benefit of the players." One sin added.

(I've said it once and I'll say it again: This game is a dick to Apollo. First we see him get injured in a bombing , then we see him assaulted in court, then a police officer gets thrown on top of him, then his best friend dies-in game order, not chronologically-and top of all this, he can't ask for time off. He has to take a leave of absence, goddammit it!)

"You know, for someone who complained a lot in the last game for Apollo not having any character or playing any part in the final outcome, you sure don't seem happy to see him get a few personal stakes in these cases. And how many times do I have to say Apollo didn't take time off?! He left to keep investigating the case on his own. This seems odd to his friends and kinda makes him feel like a dick towards them. Okay, he was justified, but he didn't really bother to explain all that to them. You add three sins for this, so...guess how many you are getting. Exactly." three sin added.

(Athena and Phoenix decide to take over the case.) Wait, don't you need a petition to…ah, fuck it. I give up.]

"You should give up. You suck at this. In the first case, Athena made a petition to take over the case…by saying that to a random bailiff. And I don't think the judge or the prosecutor were even told about it in the few seconds it took for Athena to get in. How is that any different from what Phoenix does here?" one sin added.

[(You're Apollo's mentor, aren't you?) In Starbuck's head, Kristoph Gavin and Phoenix Wright are the same person. I can see where the lines got blurry, but Phoenix swore off that shit. Sin for doing my job for me!]

"Kristoph ceased to be Apollo's mentor since the day h egot arrested. Phoenix has been Apollo's new mentor for more than a year now. And I don't think Starbuck ever heard anything about Kristoph." One sin added.

(Starbuck thinks he knows Athena.) Foreshadowing.]

"Here we go again. Pierce hates foreshadowing for no reason. And she still hasn't clearly drawn a line between good and sloppy foreshadowing. In this very episode, she removed a sin for Tonate's case being called a coffin, since Arme's body was actually hidden in there. She called it really good foreshadowing. So...what makes that instance good and this one bad? I have no idea and I don't think Pierce does either. My bet is she just flips a coin." one sin added.

(Quit counting down, Starbuck! The last time you did that, a bomb went off!)

"Pierce yells at the screen cliché." One sin added.

(They head over to the space center.) I looked up a picture of NASA headquarters and wow. Federal funding for architectural design will seriously improve over the next eleven years.)

"Two sins: one: why are you bringing up NASA? This is not USA! There are other nations capable of achieving space travel! That sounds extremely elitist." one sin added.

"And two: what even is this sin? You just made a comment about what you see on screen and, for whatever reason, treated it like a sin." One sin added.

[(Are you by chance…the space police?) Game about the space police is not on Capcom's agenda. This is the writer's subtle way of pushing for it.]

"Sinning this line." Three sins added.

(Oh, I get it! You just wander around and tell people what to do in a self-important manner.) Athena describes all my previous bosses in one sentence.]

"Yes, all bosses are like that. What's that sin for? That the game is realistic or that life is unfair? Because if it's the first, it's bullshit and if it's the second…get used to it!" one sin added.

(Some people thinks they are at the center of everyone's world. Cosmos takes it up a notch by declaring a himself the center of the cosmos. Technically, that's his abdomen.)

"Pierce makes a joke and sins the game for it. That's well on it's way of becoming a cliché in itself. And my much better suggestion of making a separate joke counter is, once again, ignored." One sin added.

(Wait, so the hope probe arrived the day before the rocket launch, but Clay was holding the asteroid samples with him when he left the rocket. Why?)

"Clay, and presumably Cosmos as well, knew that the spy's target is the moon rock. They don't know why, but they figured that out when he sabotaged the hope probe all those years ago. Now that it's back, they are afraid he will try to destroy it again, especially since they know he will strike. So Clay took it with him to ensure its safekeeping through the chaos in the space station. To protect it from bombs, fires and the like. And he almost succeeded." One sin added.

(Whoa, Fulbright's way too cooperative to be a detective/murderer on a crime scene. That's how you know he's not a real detective.)

"Which makes it a clever way of hinting at his true identity without outright saying it. Just keep this in mind for later when Pierce tries to claim that plot twist comes out of nowhere." One sin added.

[(Definitely not the Fulbright I know.) Have Phoenix and Fulbright ever met? I know about the aquarium case, but without it, this line makes no sense. It's like Capcom is trying to subtly force player into spending more money.]

"Welcome to capitalism. You think these games are cheap to make? Gotta earn those paychecks." One sin added.

(There are police officers assigned to murder investigations only to provide shoulder and neck rubs. I'm not going to question why they exist, but why was this not available during the AAIs?)

"Did it really need to? We already know there are many officers who do nothing useful! Do we need to be shown?" one sin added.

(Phoenix admits he can be out-muscled by a short 18-year old girl with no reservations whatsoever. Where's your pride, man?)

"Phoenix has no need for foolish male pride. He knows when to admit defeat. And that sounds really sexist." One sin added.

(Athena talks about the mirror.) Um…Athena? You're not even wearing makeup. The mirror must be for everyone who isn't a hot videogame character and doesn't have perfect skin or battle-resistant make-up.]

"Whatever the hell that was! Really, I have no idea what she is trying to say here." One sin added.

"Also, Pierce yells at the screen cliché."

(How did the bullet hole not affect the hologram?)

"Because the hologram is not a part of the wall. Holograms are images being made completely out of light and shadow and projected as if they are real. A bullet will just go though that. And the hole behind it will not be visible, since holograms still looks like a real tangible item." One sin added.

[(Meeting PONCO.) I get the robot is female, but…did they have to give it breasts?]

"Why not? Don't robots have the right to gender selection? If a robot is made female, why not show it? That's sexist!" one sin added.

(At the space museum.) In eleven years, robot will replace tour guides. I guess the first case of SOJ didn't get the memo.]

"Are we still talking about the faraway, isolated theocratic nation here?" one sin added.

(Poor PONCO, what a Dickensian life we're all forced to live.) I refuse to believe Phoenix Wright has read Charles Dickens. If anything, Edgeworth read it to him.]

"And I refuse to believe you have played the games, because you wouldn't make so many mistakes in that case. If anything, your friends explained them to you. But you don't see me complaining." One sin added.

(Fulbright collected Athena's fingerprints.) Foreshadowing.]

"Pierce hates foreshadowing for no reason cliché." One sin added.

(How does the phantom being scared about Blackquill cracking down on him only warrant two psyche-locks?)

"You think there should be more? It's not exactly a great secret." One sin added.

(Phoenix proves Fulbright knew about the bombing beforehand.) How does that break his psyche-locks? Why would the phantom actively try to hide he knew about the bomb threats?]

"Because the entire police force was told to keep it under wraps to keep the people there from panicking. If Fulbright talked, he would compromise his mission and arise suspicion." One sin added.

[(Fulbright wonder why Blackquill stands in court.) You've had eight months to wonder about this. Why is this only occurring to you now?]

"He specifically states he has been thinking about it for a long time. He just now found the chance to have a man-to-man talk with Phoenix and get his opinion on it. You wouldn't happen to be manipulating a scene again, would you?" One sin added.

[(The hunt for the phantom of seven years past continues still.) That was a really bad thing to say to the phantom.]

"Blackquill doesn't know he is the phantom. So this is actually tragically ironic in retrospect. And yes, I am aware you would still sin irony, but that doesn't make it any better." One sin added.

(Also, foreshadowing.)

"Also, Pierce hates foreshadowing for no reason cliché." One sin added.

(I feel bad for prosecutor Blackquill, but I'm gonna be rooting for your team this time.) Try saying that next case, Phantom. It doesn't end well for you.]

"Pierce yells at the screen cliché." One sin added.

(Cosmos allows Aura to come to work in that outfit. And I'm okay with that. And I'm not okay with that.)

"Sinning Aura's outfit. I don't think Cosmos would mind." One sin added.

(Robot abuse.)

"Pierce point things out on the screen cliché." one sin added.

(What did she take out of his head? I need answers to solve this case goddammit it!)

"Really? You think that affects the case in any way? Are you padding the sin count, sis? I think you are padding the sin count." One sin added.

(Robot abuse, hawks…Blackquill family life must be interesting.) Phoenix Wright would be awesome at cinemasins.]

"Why? He didn't say anything that seems wrong. He is right, the Blackquill family would be interesting to live with. But how is that a sin of the case again?" one sin added.

[(Now, do you have any other questions? Oh wait, of course you do. You're a lawyer.) Aura Blackquill would also be great at cinemasins.]

"She just stated a fact everyone knows and is not anything wrong with the game. Oh, wait…that is exactly what you do, isn't it?" one sin added.

(How does Aura know exactly at what time the murder occurred? There's no clock in this picture. Did she really go "I just witnessed a murder! Let me take one hand off this really unstable ladder and check my watch? Because that makes no sense.)

"Are you sure about that? One would expect that if you witness a murder, you will want to keep the time it occurred at in mind in case you get questioned by the police. Aura is being a responsible citizen." One sin added.

[(Aura zaps Clonco.) Whoa. What is that laser gun and where can I get one?]

"Guys, sound the alarm! Pierce wants to get her hands on a laser gun! Call the FBI The CIA and Interpol!" one sin added.

[(Clonco goes crazy.) This seems funny now, but then you remember Aura would have to get funding from the federal government to do this. And people wonder why there is a national deficit.]

"Pierce sins something she unironically agrees with. You do know things like this happen in real life, don't you?" one sin added.

(Person who found the body vs person who witnessed the moment of the murder. Who makes more sense as a star witness? I know they have to save Aura for the finale, but this is still bullshit. I get the feeling Blackquill just didn't want to deal with his sister during court.)

"Very possibly so. And Cosmos still has to testify. And his testimony turns out to be crucial in solving the crime, so…" one sin added.

(That old man is a big liar and a huge braggart.) Isn't Cosmos her boss? How does Aura get away with this?]

"Because Cosmos isn't there to hear her. Are you telling you've never had a boss you had to be obedient towards, but continually reviled behind their back? You must have had." one sin added.

[(Phoenix getting rid of excess evidence, claiming he doesn't want to be a hoarder.) Um…Phoenix? I've seen your office. You are definitely a hoarder.]

"Except all that "Junk" is his daughter's equipment for magic tricks, so he doesn't keep it, at least not willingly." One sin added.

"And don't think I forgot about you yelling at the screen." One sin added.

(Athena wants to eat Eldoon's noodles.) No, Athena! You only eat Eldoon's noodles after the case is won. If you do it before, you get accused of murder. Don't say we didn't warn you.]

"And on what are you basing that assumption? No, really, this isn't even a thing in the series. It never happens before or after Athena." One sin added.

"And don't think I forgot about you yelling at the screen." One sin added.

(Apollo say his wounds are fine) Apollo heals as quickly as Phoenix. Must be the office.]

"Or the fact this is a videogame and not everything has to be realistic. Usually people hate it when developers take the Christopher Nolan way of trying to apply realism to fictional universes. You are the exception, apparently." One sin added.

(Mummy man.)

"Sinning this joke. Must be the jealousy because you can't make good jokes unless there is sexual innuendo in them." One sin added.

(If speech pattern are anything to go by, Apollo visited Kristoph before returning to the office.)

"Or his former mentor's mannerisms and tactics have rubbed of on him even after all this time. And since Phoenix will support Athena, Apollo would probably prefer to channel Kristoph's spirit for preparing to accuse her." One sin added.

(Phoenix wonders if he could be a good role model for Apollo.) Have you played the previous game? The answer to your question is no.]

"Well, Phoenix has changed a lot. He got rid of his bitterness and sardonic way of communication. I think he and Apollo have potential for establishing a great mentor-mentee relationship and have already come a long way." One sin added.

"And don't think I forgot about you yelling at the screen." One sin added.

(And then Mr Tonate self-destructed.) Ted Tonate is not undergoing eye surgery as we speak. He got his eyes turned into goggles for the police's benefit. They least they can do is pay repairs.]

"You do know he has actual eyes under the goggles, right? I know they seem really small, but that choice was made plainly for laughs. Again, not everything is to be taken at face value." One sin added.

[(Blackquill motions to the judge.) wow. Blackquill has psychic connections with everyone in this case. And if they develop according to my theory…]

"They don't." one sin added.

(Apollo was not just about to cross-examine detective Arme. She was dead before the trial started. Get it right, Phoenix.)

"He means that they had just asked to cross-examine Arme. Yes, she was dead, but they didn't know that. They wouldn't have been able to question her but they were preparing to." One sin added.

[(To make such reckless statement takes a bold man…or a stupid one.) Um, Blackquill? You were there when he cross examined the orca, right? How does shit like this still surprise you?]

"Not that you don't have a point…but you are still talking to the characters on the screen as if they can hear you." One sin added.

(Blackquill calls Phoenix old.) He's six years older than you. And you look forty.)

"Again! Stop talking to the screen, they can't hear you! Why does this keep happening?!"two sins added.

(Phoenix!)

"Oh, My God! She's doing it again! She is very close to breaking her personal recorded for how many times she does this in every chapter." three sins added.

(Cosmos takes the stand.) Who names their kid Yuri? Was he the beaker baby of two lesbians? Or did his parents name him after a famous Soviet during the height of the Cold war? Both scenarios are equally unfortunate for a young child]

"Yuri can be both a by and a girl's name in Japanese, meaning Lili. Androgynous names don't exist, that's sexist!" one sin added.

(Discussing the lunar professor inmate) Who was that supposed to be? And what does Phoenix think we did to the moon? I need answers to solve this case, goddammit it!)

"Not these answers!" one sin added.

[(Judge thinks Cosmos is a ghost.) Yuri Cosmos the ghost did not make it into the final version of the game. They could have had a ghost trick crossover and everything, but noooooooooo.]

"….I see there is a reason Pierce is not a game designer." One sin added.

(He can even pass through walls.) Semi-accurate foreshadowing. He actually passed through a door.]

"Pierce hates foreshadowing for no reason." One sin added.

(Your head must have some other use than housing that bird's nest.) despite this comment, neither Taka, Rifle nor sniper ever rest in Phoenix's hair.)

"And Phoenix couldn't be happier for that. Do you have any idea how long that hair takes to get it right?" One sin added.

[(Blackquill breaks his cuffs…again.) How many new handcuffs does he need to pay for now? H breaks one every trial day minus the finale, so...eight pairs. Blackquill is being charged several hundred dollars for this single stand. Behold: the price of badassery.]

"Worth it!" one sin added.

(No way is Cosmos only 62.)

"But the game says he is. I will side with the game over you any day." One sin added.

(Phoenix accuses Cosmos.) We interrupt your regularly scheduled murder mystery to bring you…Star wars?]

"Pierce make a pop culture reference that isn't a sin of the game cliché." One sin added.

(Why does Cosmos angry face look like Bowser?)

"Maybe to make him look scarier. Maybe one of the designers is a Mario fan. Or maybe, just hear me out, it was random." One sin added.

(Athena has been oddly quiet this trial. Is she afraid Cosmos might recognize her?)

"Pierce answers her own question cliché." One sin added.

[(Blackquill got Cosmos' medal analyzed while he was spinning.) Cool but…how?]

"Underestimating the power of Blackquill." One sin added.

(Also, you know what would be really helpful here? Aura's testimony. They've made Klavier put his older sibling on the stand. Why can't Blackquill do it?)

"He doesn't want to. And Cosmos is still not finished here." One sin added.

(Director Cosmos, prepare to hand the secrets of your heart over to me.) That…is also a fanfiction…]

"Skip!" one sin added.

(Back to the Matrix it is.) Obvious Matrix references.]

"And why is that a sin?" one sin added.

(What sort of grandfather lets his grandkids watch a murder trial? And how old are they anyway?)

"Probably old enough to be in a murder trial. And they don't have to be that old. Something else you've apparently not realized is that the trials in this universe are more like debate contests. And that back-and-forth arguing will be very exciting for children." One sin added.

[(Cosmos is afraid of the launch pad 1 door.) Dude, it's okay to have a phobia of doors. I'm sure there is a support group for this somewhere in the world.]

"Pierce just shit on people with Entamaphobia. Yes, that's a thing." One sin added.

(For a guy who spends every night in a jail ell, he sure knows how to get around. Teach me your ways, dude.)

"You want to be prepared for when the FBI comes to pick you up?" one sin added

"Also, talking to the screen cliché." One sin added.

(This "swap the space museum for the launch pad" theory is cool and all, but…are you telling me nobody noticed the explosions were coming from the opposite sides of the space center?)

"I don't think people would have the time or mind to notice where exactly the explosion came from when they are running for their lives. And by the time the police get the center under control, the rockets have been swapped again. It's very likely nobody remembered the details that well." One sin added.

[(The number 2 instead of number 1 contradiction.) Phoenix steals his arguments from turnabout samurai. It is his third case since regaining his badge, after all.]

"Pierce makes a reference to a different game that isn't a sin of this one cliché." One sin added.

(Cosmo's breakdown.) Whoever drew this was a serious Mario fan. He even has stars flying off him, goddammit it! Collect those things, people! Before they fall off the screen!]

"it's okay for games to make culture references. Yeah, it's cool. What's not cool is you taking those references and turning them against the game that made them by presenting them as sins. Why would you do that?" one sin added.

"Also, sinning this breakdown." Three sins added.

[(When Cosmos lives a silhouette on the door.) Cosmos is secretly a toon in disguise. Calling the theory now.]

"Pierce makes a pop culture reference…" one sin added.

"Also, she is still sinning this transformation." Three sins added.

(How did they fix the door so quickly?)

"Pierce fails at game logic again." One sin added.

(Now, now. You know violence isn't the answer, prosecutor Blackquill.) The phantom says this after murdering an innocent astronaut, blowing up a space center and a courtroom and, on top of that, electrocuting Blackquill several times without his consent. He does all this because he left evidence behind after brutally murdering an unarmed woman in front of her preteen daughter. Hypocrite much?)

"Are you seriously sinning an international, sociopathic, murderous spy with connections to almost every criminal organization on the world for being a hypocrite? That's, like, the smallest of his crimes." One sin added.

(I'm a little confused about the phantom's motives here. If he let prosecutor Blackquill put Starbuck-whom Blackquill believes to be the phantom-in prison or just strike him down, he'd get away with everything. What does he gain by coming back and accusing Athena, other than giving the weapon the heroes needed to defeat them? It can't be revenge: he doesn't have emotions, remember?)

"Actually, the report says he is almost without emotions. The optimate word being almost. He still feels a bit anger and fear. He wants to get back at Athena for stabbing him and forcing him to now jump through all those hoops to dispose of the rock with his blood on it. And by providing the evidence that proves Starbuck innocent, he manages to gain Phoenix's trust, thereby ensuring that no matter what course of action Phoenix follows to save Athena, he will not suspect him. And it almost works. So the phantom killed almost all the birds with one stone with just this one move." One sin added.

(I just realized: there is a closed window from where the confetti is falling. How does that even happen?)

"Suspension of disbelief if still unknown to the cinemasins office." One sin added.

(Blackquill objects to adjourning court.) Blackquill attended the Quercus Alba school of not letting the game end. Doing this, in part, is what caused the entire fifth case to happen.]

"Yes. And that's the reason the game has such a great finale case. What, you though the game would end with all those questions unanswered and the killer never caught? Some things need to be done for the plot to reach a natural conclusion. I feel I have already said this, but: Pierce would suck at mystery writing." One sin added.
