Day 8: "Give me that, before anything happens."
Coming back from the bathroom, Andy was greeted with the most amazing of sights: Nicole, her husband, their two boys and all the Raydors kids were bunched together on the floor, in front of the sofa, watching "The Grinch ''. The only lights in the living room came from the Christmas tree and the kitchen. He looked at them a moment, his heart swelling with joy. Jason, the timid one, was in Nicole's arms, his head resting against her shoulder. Jacob, for his part, was completely sitting on Emily, both absorbed in the movie, their joined hands crossed over his belly. He found it funny to see that both women were at one extremity of this lovely brochette.
He chuckled as all of them gasped at a nasty move from the Green Vilain. He was glad Sharon brought all the thrown pillows from her bed and put all the blankets they had on the floor. Their combined family looked pretty cozy. He silently grabbed his cellphone from his backpocked, opened the camera, made sure to turn off the flash but to turn on "live" and took a photo. Doing so, he saw a reflection in the bay window. "Oh no, she didn't" He muttered and marched towards the kitchen.
"Babe…" He called softly, mindful not to surprise her. "Give me that, before anything happens." He said, pointing to the spoon still in her hands.
She turned around slowly, hands on the hips, chin held high in defiance. "Do you mean that I can't cook?!" she asked, all Darth Raydor.
It runs a chill through his back. He shrugged his shoulders to dissipate it. They were at home, damn it, she said everything would be up for discussion there. He took a step towards her, straightening his back. "That's exactly what I'm saying, woman." Towering above her, he enunciated clearly each word, a grin tugging at his lips from seeing her raising an amused brow at him. "Now, gimme the damn spoon, please."
A chorus of : "Mom, you're cursed, give it to him!" "You burn everything, let the man cook!" "Sharon, we want to eat tonight!" came from the living-room.
Sharon pursed her lips, both amused and pissed, a pink flush on her cheeks. "I'm not cursed! And I don't burn everything! I just don't have any luck in the kitchen these days…" She said out loud for all to hear.
Voices rose again from the other room. "These weeks, you mean." "Make it the last years." "At least, you make delicious cookies." and then came many voices as one: "Sucker!"
The two adults in the kitchen laughed. Andy moved closer to her, turned her towards the pot of boiling homemade vegan sauce he'll use to do his lasagnas. Before going to the restroom, he had taken the veggies out of the stove. He just needed to put the pasta in the dish and put it all together. Easy peasy. He started kissing Sharon's neck, little butterfly kisses first before right behind her ear. He sucked the tender skin in. He felt her throat vibrate as she was about to moan and spun her around, catching her lips before any sound could come out.
They lost themselves in the kiss, like they often did these days. It felt so good to love and be loved. Finally, when they all but lost hope for that, they were finally happy and carefree. Sharon wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him closer to her while raising on her tiptoes, mindful of the strain on his neck. He started gently, nipping, sucking her lower lips before he traced her mouth with his tongue. When she granted him access, he felt her humming against him. He smiled before her tongue came to meet his. She was intoxicating, her warmth, the mild bitterness of the tea she just drank and that flavor that was just hers. He caressed her neck before borrowing his hands in her long hair, scratching gently her scalp doing so.
Her next moan made him grab her by the hips and lift her up on the countertop. "Thank god for leggings" he thought to himself as he situated himself between her opened legs, caressing her beautiful thighs through the soft cotton. He wanted to kiss her neck, again, but knew she would be too loud and attract the kids' attention. He settled for kneading her breasts through her woolen dress, swallowing her moans and whimpers in their kisses. He was starting to draw patterns on her collarbone, their tongues still caressing each other, when he heard noises near them.
"Oh my god, mom!" Said both Rusty and Ricky at once, their faces bright red.
He looked at his two girls and met both their amused gaze. "No wonder she burns everything…" Joked Emily before spinning on herself and retracting to the living-room.
Seeing that Nicole stayed looking at them, he raised his brow: "What? What!" He asked, not amused to see his daughter stay, given how flustered Sharon was from being caught.
"You didn't smell the burnt?" She asked, pointing her chin toward the stove.
"No, I was too busy." He laughed. "She cursed me."
