I then fixed the issue by reprimanding Eris pretty harshly and I don't think she has tried doing that again.
Gameshark flinches. "Sorry, I'll raise her better this time." Ah, I see that I offended his daddy pride.
I give him a smile. "It's fine Gameshark, I'm sure you and your wife tried their best... Eris is just a more troublesome kid than normal." Also most of her personality problems were caused by her grandpa, kind of like you!

While we talk Echidna starts taking off Reinhard's 'medicine', she comes closer to us and hands a vial to Gameshark.
She has a neutral face, as she always does when she interacts with him. "Here, drink this and go back to your room, slowly circulate mana through your body, then go to sleep."
He takes the medicine and bows. "Thank you Lady Echidna." She just curtly nods.
Their relationship is pretty cold, and it's through no fault of Gameshark... Echidna seemingly just doesn't care enough to put effort in faking that she likes him.
I remember the first time they met, Echidna looked at him and said. 'So it's that huh? A pathetic slave of the stars.' Definitely not a good way to start a friendship.
But thankfully Gameshark didn't take offense, and he's confident enough to drink whatever Echidna tells him to drink.
He downs the liquid and almost gags. "Ugh... I'll go to my room now, please call me if you need help Subaru." I nod and he leaves.
When he does Echidna giggles. "I made this one even worse than the last." Stop bullying him!
I sigh. "Geez, why do you even dislike Gameshark?" I thought Echidna could never dislike anyone... Except for Mili and Satella of course.
Echidna shakes her head. "I don't dislike him at all, and if I did have emotions I imagine I would actually pity him." Then why do you bully him!?
My white haired neet smirks. "Besides the best medicine is always bitter." So even a witch knows this particular piece of wisdom huh?
I shrug. "As long as the medicine works, I guess it's fine." I still can barely believe Echidna managed to create something like that in the first place...
She smiles. "It will work... And if the 1% chance of him dying comes to pass, he can just resurrect." There is such a chance!?
I sigh again. "I... Whatever, I guess it is messing with his gate." Normally Reinhard's gate couldn't channel mana.
Basically Gameshark could not reinforce himself with his own mana, he had to draw strength from the planet's own resources, he also couldn't use magic.
It's because his gate has been messed up from birth... When Gameshark decided to start training I tried having Minerva fix that, but she couldn't, because it didn't count as an injury apparently.
But Echidna came to my rescue, she quickly came up with a fix, and now Gameshark's gate was slowly being repaired... Though Echidna said it was more like the gate was being constructed in the first place.
His gate was still pretty young, but he could now use magic, there's no doubt in my mind that he will become crazy strong with it soon.
Echidna smiles. "Well now it's time for your treatment my beloved." She looks at Beako. "Get ready Beatrice."
Beako nods and walks towards a bed. "Betty has done this a few times now, she won't fail, I suppose."
Right my own treatment, it's something I asked Echidna if she could do, and she said yes, apparently she had done this to herself when she was first alive.
Echidna hands me a vial. "Here, it's appa flavored." Why is this one not bitter!? You really are bullying Gameshark!
I shake my head. "Why did you add flavor to this one?" I still drink it of course, immediately I can feel my gate screaming.
Echidna has a grin. "Because if I didn't, you would probably say 'ew' and then you would stop the treatment." What am I!? Five years old!?
I pout and walk towards the bed. "I wouldn't, but okay, whatever you say Dona." I'm not five! I'm not!
I lay down, feeling a bit dizy, Beako puts her hands and starts circulating her mana in my gate.
It's a process we have done many times now. "Betty will keep working on yang, I suppose." That's the plan.
What I am doing is simple, I'm artificially altering my gate, so that I'm compatible with all affinities.
It's something I thought we would need to do to Gameshark as well, but he just got a bunch of blessings, so he now has an affinity towards all elements.
It's worth noting that since we are doing this artificially, my gate will not be a match for someone who is born with every single one of them.
