Chapter 8: Hakuna Matata

Peter dragged his feet across the scorching sand in the hot desert as the sun beat down on him. He didn't know where he was going, but he can't go back to Country Town ever again after the tragedy of his dad's fate. He couldn't go even farther, his vision was starting to get blurry, and started to faint in the sun.

Hoping that he could just die right there. So he could join with his father. Vultures were circling around the fainted micronations as they swooped down and surrounding the unmoving boy, ready to prepare their meal, when suddenly.

"CHARGE!" Two balkan nations rush towards the wake of vultures, swatting them away. When the vulture flew away, they laughed.

"Get out of here! Shoo! Pleacă!" The blond, vampiric, nation with his Romanian accent yelled as he kicked the vulture out of here. The two balkan nations laughed as they flew away.

The strawberry blond one is Vladimir (Romania), the vampire nation who obsesses with black magic, romances, fortune-telling, and the king of storytellers, and Boris' best friend. While the dark brown haired one is Boris (Bulgaria), who is shy, love of yogurts, stick-lover, and known to be the Magical Yogurt Fairy, and Vladimir's best friend.

"It gets them every time!" the blond man with the hat said as he dusting himself off. "We should do this again this often."

Boris then noticed the figure that the vultures were gonna eat. He knelt down and was surprised at his mere sight. "Uh-oh, Hey, Vladimir, you better come look at this. I think this one is still alive!" he said with a thick Bulgarian accent.

Vladimir walked over and knelt next to his friend. "Okay, what do we got here?" He looked at the sailor micronation. "It's a kid, that poor kid must be dehydrated"

"Can we take him with us?" the Bulgarian man asked

"What? ești nebun, Boris?! We can't just keep some random kids in here. And besides, I already have Moldova to take care of." said Vladimir, (Unfortunately, Moldova isn't gonna have a human name, sorry folks.)

"But he's such a cute little boy, and he's all alone" Boris protested

"What if he becomes a leader? WHAT IF HE KILL US!" Vladimir yelled and argued

"Uspokoĭ se, Vlad. What if he's on our side?" he asked. Vladimir was skeptical at first.

"Are you sure?"

"Positively. That why we can have our own bodyguard to protect us with the dangerous nations" Boris explained

Vladimir was still concerned about their safety, but then again, he didn't want to let the poor sailor kid rot in the heat. So he has no choice but to accept Boris' words. "Alright then, besides what could go wrong with this one. Let's get out of the heatwave, we're starting to get fried here."

Boris shook his head with agreement (if you are confused, let me help you out. When Bulgarian people shake their heads left and right, that means "yes", when nodding up and down, that means "no") as they picked up the boy, and it's quite heavy for their weight. They walked for a while until they saw a patch of grass with a large pool with it, that was shaded by the large tree. Boris laid the sailor boy down carefully and held his head with his lap as they gave him some water. Then the boy eyes started to fluttered open to look at the worried balkans

"Are you okay, kid?" Vladimir asked

"I guess so" said Peter with an scratchy voice, sitting up on his own

"You nearly died" said Boris

Vladimir nodded, "I saved you…" Boris gives him a cold hare stare at him, coughing. "..I mean, we saved you. We found you lying around on the ground with vultures.

"Thanks for your help" said Peter as he got up and walked away. Curiosity hits the Balkans duo

"Hey, where are you going? Vladimir asked

"Nowhere" Peter answered, sadly walking away from the Balkans. The two balkans look at each other with worried looks on their faces.

"Geez, he look blue" said Vladimir

"Really? I only see blue and white on his clothes" Boris replied

"No, no, no. I mean he's depressed" said Vladimir

"Aww, that poor kid" said Boris

The two balkan caught up after the melancholy micronation.

"What's buggin you, kid?" Boris questioned

"Where are you from?" Vladimir asked

"Who cares, I can't go back" Peter said and started to walk away, but Vladimir stopped him, "So, you're an outcast, that's great, so are we!" he said smiling. Boris sidles up next to Vladimir

"What did you do, kid?" Boris asked

"Something terrible," Peter said looking down at the ground "But I don't wanna talk about it"

Vladimir nodded, "That's fine, we don't wanna hear about it"

Boris nudged Vladimir "Come on, Vlad." Then he turned to Peter, "Is there anything we could do?"

Peter shook his head, "Not unless you can change the past"

Boris smiled, "You know, kid. In a time like this, my best friend Vladimir here says: "You've gotta put your behind in your past." (Sorry, I just have to do this, because it's funny).

Peter looked confused and Vladimir just facepalmed. "I told you to let off the vodka." He then knelt down and put his hand on Peter's shoulder. "What my friend was trying to say was: "You've gotta put your past behind you". Vladimir corrected "Look, kid. Bad things happen, and you can't do anything about it, right?

"Right,"

"WRONG!" Vladimir said suddenly, pointing between the boy's eyes, "When the world turns its back on you, you turn your back on the world!

Peter frowned with his arm crossed "Well, that's not what I thought"

Vladimir smiled, 'Well, then maybe you need a new lesson. Repeat after me: Hakuna Matata"

"What" Alfred asked confused

"Hakuna Matata," Boris repeated "It means no worries". Vladimir then start singing

"Hakuna Matata, what a wonderful phrase"

"Hakuna Matata, Ain't no passing crave"

"It's means no worries, for the rest of your days"

The two balkans sing togethers

"It's our problem-free, philosophy, Hakuna Matata"

"Hakuna Matata?" Peter asked

Boris nodded "Da, it's our motto" Boris replied back to Peter

"What's a motto?" Peter asked

"Nothing, what's a motto with you!" Vladimir joked and both him and Boris laughed.

"You know, kid. These two words will solve all of your problems." said Boris

Vladimir nodded "Yeah, take us for example," The two stood up as they beams"Why… when we were apart of Axis"

"When we were apart of AXIS!" he sang like an professional opera singer

Vladimir clapped "Very nice"

"Blagodarya" Boris replied

"We used to be apart of the Axis Power alliance, we are battling against the Allies Powers reign."

"We were very close, but then we both were banished"

"Because we made the Axis lose in WWII, majorly. And oh, the shame"

"We was ashamed"

"Thought of changing our name"

"What is our name?!"

"And we got downhearted"

"How do we feel"

"Then I kick Ludwig in the…"

"Boris, Not in front of the kids" Vladimir said, cutting him off by covering Boris' mouth

Boris' eyes widened "Oh, Sorry" he said leaving Peter looking confused.

"Hakuna Matata! What a wonderful phrase! Hakuna Matata! Ain't no passing crave!"

Then Peter joined in sing

"It's mean no worries, for the rest of your days (Vladimir: Yeah, sing it kid)

"It's our problem-free.."

"Philosophy!"

"Hakuna Matata!"

Vladimir and Boris brought Peter to a small hill and showed him to the massive but beautiful Balkans cities called "Balkan Town", "Welcome to our humble home!" Vladimir said

Peter's eyes widened at the sight, "You live here?" He asked in amazement

"We live wherever we want" Vladimir said

"Da, Home is where the balkans roam" explained Boris

Peter's heart grew and he's no longer sad as he felt hope and happiness for the first time, "It's Beautiful"

He followed Boris and Vladimir through the town of Balkan Town. Then Boris' stomach starts to rumble, meaning that he's hungry. "Man, I'm starving"

"Great, I hope they got crumpets in this place" said Peter while Vladimir stopped at his place, looking confused

"Crumpets?" Vladimir asked "I don't think we have crumpets"

"Fish and Chips?"

"Nope"

"Swedish Meatballs?"

"Nu." He then leaned down to Peter "Listen, kid. If you wanna live with us, you'll have to eat like us." He then looks at the food place near the Balkan duo and Peter. "Hey, this is a good place to get some food. The waiters give them some variety of Balkans food that's only they can enjoy, except for Peter who isn't fond of this type of food.

Peter looked confused at this food "What's this?"

"Ajvar, what does it look like?" Vladimir asked

"Ewwww, no thank you" Peter rejected

Vladimir just finished his Ajvar "Mmmm, taste delicious" he then looked at Peter "Come on, kid. I know you don't like them, but atleast give them a try"

"They may not be your favorite's, but you could atleast try a little." said Boris. Peter then grabbed one of the cevapi

"Oh well, Hakuna Matata" He then eats the cevapi slowly, before swallowing it whole with his eyes closed. He then started to smile slowly. "Hey, it's not bad"

Boris and Vladimir nodded, while Vladimir say "That's it"

As they strided across the town of Balkan Town, Peter started to grow up to an adolescent teen, then became a full-grown adult. He still has the same dirty blonde hair, his brother's eyebrow (ala Arthur Kirkland) and his blue eyes. Although he now wears a similar sailor suit just like his youth years. After all the Balkan Duo treat him, he soon forgets about his father's tragic death and wants to enjoy his life. Boris and Vladimir were treating him, just like what they did to Moldova (still no human name)

"Hakuna Matata, Hakuna Matata, Hakuna Matata, Hakuna…"

Adult Peter now stepped in

"It's means no worries, for the rest of your days"

"It's our problem-free philosophy"

The trio singing "Hakuna Matata" in the background, when Vladimir now dons an black swimming trunks, taking the first dive into Skakavitsa Falls, then Boris dive seconds (dons an green and white swimming trunks), then Peter (who's now dons his red and black swimming trunks) takes the finally splash, and it's a big one. Sending Vladimir and Boris to the surfaces, drying themselves off, having fun. Then Peter walked out of the water, drying himself off with a towel, before walked away singing with the Balkan Duo, meanings that's he has no worries for the rest of his lives

A/N: Tbh, this is the hardest chapter to write, mainly because of this song. But what do you think? Also I added Romania and Bulgaria as the role of Timon and Pumbaa because I thought it'll fit their roles, plus their both outcasts and their best friends in Hetalia

Translation Words:
- Pleacă means Leaves in Romanian
- Eşti nebun?! means "Are you crazy?!" in Romanian
- успокой се (Uspokoĭ se) means "calm down" in Bulgarian
