Hi Guys,

RT (me) is back with a new FF. This is a complete AU but might use some scenes or dialogues from the original. Thank you for all the love you gave to "It has always been you. "I promise I will finish that too… I just had this idea and I wanted to write this before I forget. I hope you will love this as well. This is inspired by many FF I read on this platform, but the story is all mine. Nevertheless, I would like to thank all the writers who unknowingly inspired this story.

Without further ado, let's dive into the universe of Calzona. I don't have to, but still, I am telling you that Calzona will always be the endgame in my story.

Disclaimer: Like always, none but a few characters are mines. All the characters belong to Shonda Rimes; I borrow them from the stories.

General POV

It was late Friday evening of December, and the weather was unforgiving. The cold could seep through the layers and layers of cloth you are wearing, topped it with the rain and it was the recipe of disaster. The hospital's ER is usually busy this time of year. Accidents due to sliding of cars, bike slips, and broken hips are season special. The rush hour is mainly in the morning or the evening when it's office traffic time. Seattle grace was one of the best hospitals on the west coast and ranked No 1 in the PED and cardiothoracic departments. Still, they were severely lacking in the trauma for the last three years until three months before, when their new Trauma Specialist, Dr Theodora Altman, a.k.a teddy, joined the Seattle team. She was in the military before joining the Seattle Grace Hospital and since then it has done wonders in that department as well, so much so that now Seattle grace was the go-to hospital for all trauma cases.

Dr Callie Torres was a fourth-year resident, and today, her shift was in ER, and she was sitting on the chair waiting for any trauma to come. It was a quiet day, but none of the interns, residents or doctors dared to utter the word ''quiet''. Callie was looking at something on her phone when Dr April Kepner, a third-year resident, came to the ER.

"Wow! It's quiet here," she said the cursed words, and the reaction was immediate

"KEPNER!" Callie, Meredith, and Christina exclaimed at once, "Seriously!"

"What!?" April asked, confused. "What did I do?"

"You said the cursed word," Christina said

"What cursed word?" April asked, still confused

"You never say 'Q word' in the ER," Callie said from the left corner

"Oh, common guys, it's just a superstition," April said dismissively

"Kepner, don't come crying when this superstition becomes real," Teddy chimed in

"Nothing is going to happen… it's a peaceful evening," April said chirpily

"Oh common! now you just downright jinxed it," Cristina said, irritated. "Stretch your legs, guys, it's gonna be a looonnnggg night," Christina said, shaking her head

"You guys are being ridiculous," April said, flailing her arms dismissively "nothing is gonna happen"

As if right on the cue phone started to ring. Callie went to pick up the phone, shooting daggers with her eyes towards April. "Seattle grace hospital," Callie said, picking up the phone "mmhmm… mmhmm…. Alright…"

"MULTIPLE TRAUMA COMING IN, ONE GSW, SEVERED FINGERS, AND MUCH MORE… ETA 6 MINUTES… GET READY, PEOPLE," Callie shouted in the ER for everybody to hear.

"Happy?" Christina spat towards April while running towards the ER gate, on which April scoffed.

In less than 6 minutes, three buses came blaring in the Trauma Bay.

"Male identifies as special Agent Keith Anderson of FBI, 25 years old, GSW to the left thigh, BP 140/90, heart rate stable, conscious" a paramedic from the first bus shouted out the vitals.

"Meredith, take this one, and page Dr Hunt" Teddy instructed

"Female identifies as SAA Joe Wilson of FBI, 29 years old, heart rate stable, possible concussion, unconscious, a laceration on the forehead, few broken ribs, BP 130/85.

"Kepner, you are on this," Teddy said

Callie and Christina waited for the third bus to open the back door.

"Male, 29, Identifies as SAA Alex Karev of FBI, 3rd-degree burns on the shoulder, and neck, three severed fingers, condition unstable, possible brain injury, coded once in transit, BP 150/100.

Teddy, along with Callie and Christina, were immediately on this case, accessing the extent of injuries.

"What about the fingers? Are they viable for reattaching?" Teddy asked the paramedic.

"It was a mess down there. We couldn't find anything… there are still team out there; maybe they will find them," Paramedic replied, and Teddy nodded.

"Callie, bag him… left pupil is blown… page shepherd and Sloan," Teddy shouted the instruction to the residents. "Prep the OR," she told the nurse.

The hell broke loose in the ER; Kepner was stitching up the wound and taking her patient for CT. Meredith was already taking her GSW patient to OR with Dr Hunt for bullet removal. Whereas Sloan, shepherd, and Teddy were arguing on what to treat first. As per Shepherd, the ICP must be taken care of first to avoid further brain damage. Teddy was concerned about his hand, which would lead to massive blood loss and could end Agent's career if not treated at the right time. Sloan was arguing over the burn, which looked like from some sort of chemical, and was concerned that the chemical might be toxic and could eventually cause multiple organ failures.

Callie and Christina were standing a little further away, waiting for their attending to decide so that they get to scrub in. After what felt like an eternity, they all concluded that Neuro and Trauma would work parallelly while the Plastics would monitor his toxicity and, if required, would jump in else would take care of the burns later. As of now, he would only clean the burn, ridding them of cloth residue and debris to prevent infection. The plan was set, and they moved the patient to the OR.

Callie was about to follow when she heard a frantic voice from behind. "I HAVE THE FINGERS," a female exclaimed

Callie turned to see the source of the voice and saw the head of blonde hairs covered with soot from behind. She looked at Christina and said "go ahead scrub in I'll be right there" and went towards the blond "excuse me! are these the fingers of Agent Karev?" Callie asked the blond

"Yes," The blond said, turning towards Callie. The blond's face was covered in soot and dust. Blood seeping through the open wound on her forehead; she had a busted lip. She favoured her right leg and was holding her left hand closer to her body. She stumbled a little when she tried to move forward a little. Callie immediately caught the blond and balanced her weight on herself. "Easy there, you are not looking good yourself; how come the paramedic missed you," Callie asked the other women.

Ignoring or missing Callie's question completely she went on "I found them, but I didn't have anything to put them in, so I bought an ice cream tub from the gas station," The blond explained; Callie's eyes widened on hearing the words fingers in the ice cream tub.

"Oh no no, it's in a clean Ziplock on the ice cream, they were out of Ice" Blond explained frantically, on which Callie smiled a little "seriously, you can eat the ice cream, it's clean… or you know, maybe not… it's all finger-y."

Callie was enjoying the other women's rambling; she found it interesting and cute. But now the adrenal was wearing off the blond, and she started to feel the effects of it. She took a few unstable steps forward and stumbled into Callie's arm.

"Woah, Woah Woah! easy there, tiger… I got you" Callie said, holding the Blonde safely in her arms "let's get a look at you."

"NO, I am fine," the blond said, "the fingers," She breathed out, panting

"That will be taken care of," Callie said. "Reed, get this to OR 2. Tell Dr yang it for the agent Karev… hopefully, she will be able to save the hand."

"Thank you," The blond exasperated.

"you're welcome," Callie said with a smile "come sit here," she said taking The Blonde to the nearest bed and the drew the curtains.

The Blonde first tried to object, but her body was now feeling the effects of the blast and was now getting tired, so she sat down on the bed without any further protest and found the uncomfortable hospital beds oddly comforting. Callie moved close to Blond and took her face in her hands taking a good look at the wound on her head.

"Hmm," Callie hummed in concentration which made the blonde look into Callie's eyes.

This was the first time since her arrival the blond has looked towards the Doctor and her first thought was "stunning". The woman in front of her had black shiny long hair, her eyes were big and beautifully carved, and the pupil was dark brown almost chocolate brown. Her lips were full and perfectly formed. Her neck was long like a swan and her chest-

"Agent? Are to listening to me" The blonde's reverie was broken when the subject that cause this reverie waved her hands in front of her.

"Huh sorry, what did you say" The blonde stuttered.

"Are you feeling, okay?" Callie asked confused by the sudden faze out of blonde as she took blonde's drooling over her as the sign of possible brain injury. So naturally, she frantically starts to assess her head.

"I… I am fine" the blonde said holding Callie by her wrist "I was just thinking about something" She lied "Don't worry about that… Dr… umm" and then she looked at Callie's lab coat "Dr Calliope Torres" She enunciated "Wow that's a Beautiful Name" She concluded emphasizing on beautiful and giving her best-dimpled smile.

"Oh my God! ...she has dimples" was the first thought that came to her mind "Dimples and those blue eyes, god she is gorgeous… even with soot-covered face her features are sharp… what! she said something to… oh yeah she called me by my name…did she call me Calliope…why does it be sound so good… it's a horrible name…" Callie monologed internally

"Stop rambling you idiot and say something to her else she will think that YOU are getting a stroke" Another voice inside her head chastised.

"Umm… mmm. Ahem… Yeah… I thought you got some concussion or something" Callie said gathering herself up "and… I go by Callie" on which the Blonde just smiled.

"Okay… so Dr Callie… am I going to survive" The blonde joked with a wink.

A wink was enough to through Callie off her game. She blinked multiple times before she replied with a stutter "umm… No… I mean yeah… I… ahem" Callie cleared her throat and took a deep breath to gather herself up and when she spoke next, she spoke with confidence "I don't think there is a concussion, but you have a nasty sprain in your ankle which will keep you off your feel for at least 2 weeks, which means no running, jumping, and walking only by using the cane. In addition to that, you have a definite shoulder dislocation, which I will set now but your hand will be in a sling for 2-3 weeks, your head wound is superficial but would require some stitches" She turned to the intern next to her and said "after I fix her up to take her for head CT and Xray… to make sure there isn't any further damage"

"Argh…" The blonde growl "how about a week of off duty? can you tape it up of something like that" Blonde said pouting

"Excuse me?" Callie said with wide eyes in amusement "are you negotiating with me?" God, she is cute when she pouts!

"Yes, because 3 weeks off duty is not gonna happen," Blonde said firmly. Her eyes are going to be the death of me.

"I tell you what, you take complete rest for 2 weeks, come back for your check-up and if I see that you have improved, I'll know you have behaved and have to follow the instruction properly…so I might give you…" took some time to think about the bribe she could offer

"Ice cream,?" the blonde said with a beaming smile, her white teeth shining brightly against her soot cover face.

Callie laughed loudly "I was thinking in the line of "less week off duty" but…Alright, I'll get you an Ice cream too"

"Yeyi! Okay, it's a date then" The blonde said with a flirty smirk which made Callie's heart flutter.

"Not a date, agent, it's a reward for being a very good patient," Callie said chuckling on which the blonde pouted. "Stop pouting and pick your poison before a set your shoulder"

"Oh no," The Blonde said shaking her vigorously "no pain killers… it makes me loopy," the blonde said waving her good hand all-around "just set the shoulder and I 'll be on my way"

"Are you sure? It's gonna be painful" Callie asked

"Yeah, I am sure, I have had the worst" The Blonde replied

"Okay, then I'll bring the sling" Callie replied and went to the supply closet to bring the sling with a smile on her face. Cute and badass, I am so screwed.

Callie came back with a sling and saw The Blonde sitting on the bed with her legs swinging to and fro, the whole scene for Callie was too cute. How can someone be in the FBI and still so adorable?

"So, Ms No-pain-killers, are you ready," Callie said

"Mmhmm," The Blonde said and braced herself for the upcoming pain.

"Aright, on the count of three," Callie said holding The Blonde hand in the right position "one… two…" and with a loud crack she popped her shoulder in place

"Owww. Mother fuck—that hurts" The Blonde cried out in pain, "You said on three," she said with watering eyes.

"Hurts less if you are not expecting."

"Sure, it doesn't." The Blonde managed to mumble, her eyes a little watery.

Callie chuckled at the blonde's antics and put the blonde's hand in the sling and ankle in a soft cast "Keep it in the sling, no sudden movement, keep your fingers moving to avoid stiffness, keep your leg elevated most of the time no putting weight on it for at least 4 days aaanndd-" she said the last part with emphasis "2 Week no work… I mean it"

The Blonde rolls her eyes "Fine!" she said with a tight smile.

"Now look at the nasty laceration you have on your pretty head," Callie said before she could stop herself. what is going on with you?

The blonde didn't say anything just smiled her flirty smile and enjoyed the closeness of the doctor.

Callie numbed the area with numbing cream and stitched up the wound. After putting the bandage on she looked into the blonde's eyes and realized they were very close, so close that they can feel the warmth radiating from each other bodies. Their eyes locked in intensely and for a few seconds, they were alone in this word until they were brought back by the crashing tray nearby.

"Ahem…" Callie said breaking their staring battle and clearing her throat "let me just check your airway and then you are all set…I'll prepare the discharge papers, rest here for another hour or so and then you can go home," Callie said finishing the chart

"yeah…Ummm thanks," the blonde said sitting up" Ah, Dr Torres… any news on my agents?" The Blonde asked after getting her lungs checked with a stethoscope and getting all clear.

Callie looked around and called and intern "Check ORs and get the update, come back here and update agent-" She stopped and looked towards the blond for name

"Robbins… SSA Robbins" The blond replied

"Yeah, update SSA Robbins here… alright… now run," Callie said firmly

"You are allowed to torture your intern like that …all the time?" the blonde asked teasingly.

"Yup… part of the Job description," Callie said winking

The intern came back and informed both women that surgery is almost complete, and all the agents are out of danger; they were able to save Agent Karev's hand, he is under observation now but is expected to make full recovery.

The Blonde took a deep breath and thanked the intern giving her, her best smile, which caused the intern to blush and bump into the medical cart.

Seeing the scene unfolding in front of her Callie just rolled her eyes and while shaking her head she said "someone will take you for the scan and after that, you take a rest for a few hours, if the pain increases, just press this button and someone will attend to you."

"And what Button Do I need to press if I want you to attend to me" Blond flirted

Callie blushed a little, but she composed herself and replied "I am a surgeon, I don't do Outpatients"

"Oh," the blonde said tilting her head a little and with a smirk "So you mean I will really have to fuck up my shoulder to get your attention?"

"Mmhmm," Callie said, "or you know you can ask any nurse sweetly to page Dr Torres" She added shyly.

"And they will listen to me?" the blonde asks

"Well, if you popped those dimples, I don't think they will be able to resist you" Callie replied flirting back. shit did I say that loud? Seriously! What is wrong with me

Blonde laughed loudly "But I think I might be losing my power otherwise a certain beautiful Doctor would have already given her number"

"Well, if you were not busy making my intern blush, you might have asked that certain doctor, and she might have given you her number" Callie chimed back

"Really! You know that certain someone?" the Blonde Asked

"mmhmm" Callie replied blushing hard "I know her very well."

"So, you think she likes me?"

"mmm… maybe" Callie replied shyly

"Ok then maybe I will ask for her number," The Blonde said maintaining her smirk

They both stood there for a while looking into each other eyes, no one saying anything as if scared to break the spell. They were brought out of their daze but the sound of emergency patients. Callie ran to attend to the patient and the Blonde lied down on the bed, exhaustion of the day finally caught up to her. After the scans, she fell into a slight nap.

After around an hour or so, she was woken up by Callie who was standing with all other attendings to inform her that agents, Karev, Anderson, and Wilson are out of surgery. Karev in is ICU for a few days as a precaution and is expected to make full recovery and Wilson and Anderson have been transferred to rooms. All of them are still under anaesthesia, so Callie suggested coming the next day if she wants to meet them. The blonde got up from the bed immediately and thanked all the doctors including Callie. Once Callie gave her the discharge papers, she went out of the ER to update head office about the agent recovery. After a while, she came back and looked for the Brunette Doctor. After looking around she found her at the nurse's station writing something on the chart.

She walked towards her and as she reached near her, she fished out her business card from her pocket and slide it on the desk in front of Callie, while her front is almost touching Callie's back. As Callie's felt the warm breath on the back of her neck, she stiffens a little but didn't turn around. The blonde leaned close to Callie's right ear and whispered "I guess the ball is in your court, Dr Torres" sending a shiver down Callie's spine. She smiled as she saw goosebumps forming on Callie's hand, but Callie still didn't look towards the blond as she was too busy enjoying the sensation that the closeness of the blonde body was causing. The blonde touched her arm a little from Callie's little finger and caress lightly up to her elbow and before moving back she whispered again "I'll wait for your message" and with that, the Blonde walked away.

Callie quickly looked towards the blonde but all she saw was her back. She took some deep breaths to calm her fast-beating heart and chuckled lightly. She could still feel the tenderness of the blonde breath on her ear and the softness of her fingers on her hand. She looked and the business card in her hand.
