With a cacophony of loud screams, UA High School's Hero Course Class 1-A landed in a wild, disorganized pile, groaning at the impact and their friends' body parts digging into uncomfortable places.
"Whoever has their hand on my ass…" Katsuki Bakugou began, growling In barely controlled rage. "BETTER MOVE IT RIGHT THE FUCK NOW!" He screamed, explosions popping in his palms and incentivizing his peers to get up and away from him, rubbing the bumps and aches on their bodies.
"Deku, where are we?" Ochako Uraraka asked, standing next to her best friend, Izuku Midoriya.
"I'm not sure. It appears to be some sort of foyer, like at a Movie Theater. Perhaps this is from a Quirk of some kind? If so, when and how did it activate?" He held a hand up to his mouth, muttering into it as the other members of his class began to talk amongst themselves, anxious if this was another attack by the League of Villains.
"Everyone, quiet." The gruff voice of Shouta Aizawa came from above, where he had his capture scarf wrapped around a light fixture like a hammock. "Jirou, Shouji. What can you hear?"
The massive, multi-armed form of Mezou Shouji and the petite, purple haired Kyouka Jirou stepped away, their superb sensory Quirks getting to work.
"Nothing here, sir." Shouji reported via a mouth grown on the end of a new arm.
"Wait, I hear… singing?" Jirou said, confused. "That way, about 100 meters." The rocker pointed down a nearby hall, at the end of which sat a large steel door that looked like it belonged on an Aircraft Hangar, the metal carefully bent and etched to form hundreds of shapes, with the largest symbol being smack in the middle: A sky blue circle on the right, and a warm amber circle to the left, placed an equal distance from the center, while a large, fanged grin hung below.
"Be ready for anything. We're currently in unknown territory with a possibly dangerous villain. Creati," Aizawa turned to the raven-haired beauty, Momo Yaoyorozu. "Have flash grenades at the ready. Deku, Ground Zero, Shoto, you'll be going in as soon as I disable their Quirks. Understood?"
"Yes sir!" Momo, Midoriya, and Shoto Todoroki nodded, while Bakugou let out a grunt of understanding, a wild grin stretching across his face.
"Move out." Aizawa ordered, taking off down the hall, with his students right behind him.
As they approached, the music began to become heard by all, soon followed by the lyrics. "-ifth Fleet needs me to come tag in? I'd rather kick back, drink mead by the flagon."
Confused whispers began to bounce amongst the group. What was this Fifth Fleet, and who was singing?
"Deku, bring it down."
"Sir!" Midoriya leapt forward, green lightning crackling around him as he kicked at the door- a move which, on several occasions, had proven to be effective at removing most obstacles- only to bounce off as the steel bent inwards before springing back into shape, like a trampoline. "WHOOOOOAA!" He yelped, spinning through the air and landing on the ground in front of the group, groaning lightly.
The Quirk Users all froze- save for Uraraka who was helping Midoriya to his feet- only for nothing to change afterwards, while the song continued. "With fearsome fangs and claws, I'll tear you limb from limb! To fight free from my jaws, you must unleash your beast within!"
"What the hell is happening in there?" Denki Kaminari asked, electrical sparks flying from his fingertips nervously.
"You all stay back." Aizawa said, before reaching for the gap between the teeth on the door's grin and pulling, the metal sliding gently and almost silently away in response. He peeked his head through to see a large warehouse or hangar of some sort, with large lights overhead and several benches scattered along the perimeter, covered in plastic models, toys, and deadly weapons in equal measure, while a half-dismantled armored SUV sat on a lift in the corner, two machine guns held up by chains above the open hood.
And right across from the door, leaning over a desk and blocking its contents from sight, was a man in gray sweatpants and a black t-shirt, singing along with a portable speaker on the table next to him. "I built a bone hammer, you could say that I'm nailing it! Plus a drum made of lightning 'cause I wanted to play with it! Rip out a monster's collar bone and sharpen my blade with it-!"
He was cut off with a wheeze as everything from the neck down was completely wrapped in a wide strip of cloth, arms bound to his sides. "What the-?!" Suddenly, he was spun around, meeting the gaze of twenty-one individuals with expressions of nervousness, anger, and confusion., some having more emphasis on one of the emotions than others.
"Who are you? What is this place? Why did you take us?" Aizawa demanded, growling as he gripped the brown haired man by the collar, only to have a simple reply that answered nothing thrown back.
"Oh, fuckberries…" The young man muttered from behind an old fashioned black bandanna mask.
In an open, grassy plain, a large C impacts the ground, followed closely by an L, an A, before eventually spelling "CLASS 1-A." A small black and white Palico scampers in from the right and quickly hammers a sign into the ground, leaning on it and revealing the words "MONSTERS 101." His rest is interrupted, however, when he looks to the left side and quickly runs with a startled screech. The reason is quickly shown, as a Barroth charges in and bulldozes the entire set with its head, pushing it off screen.
"Answer. Now." Eraserhead's eyes turned bright red and his hair began to float, staring down the blue-and-amber eyed young man in front of him.
"Easy there, scruffy. Don't get your scarf in a knot." Was the reply, to 1-A's shock at his blatant sass.
Aizawa's glare intensified, squeezing the capture weapon tighter around him, to no visual effect. Rather, he seemed simply uncomfortable, shifting slightly before relaxing.
"Hey, what time is it?" The young-man asked, looking up towards the ceiling.
"What are y-" Aizawa attempted to interrogate him, only to be cut off by a voice that seemed to originate from everywhere at once.
"It is currently 3 PM, DD."
"3 P-?!" "Chief" began, eyes wide in shock. "FUCK I'M SO SO SORRY!" Surprisingly, he turned towards 1-A and their teacher, head flopping around as if he was having a fit. "I totally lost track of time! That's on me! I was supposed to meet you at the lobby!"
Now the Quirk users were both shocked and confused.
"You." Aizawa shook the scarf, jostling "DD" out of his apologies. "Explain. Where are we, how did we get here, and who ARE you?" He growled out.
"Right! Right, ok! Again, my bad! But to answer your questions…" He began, before somehow his hands appeared at the top of the impromptu cocoon, gripping the edges of the capture weapon.
Aizawa tensed, ready to fight, but stopped and stared, dumbfounded, as the young man pulled the cloth down like a blanket, revealing not the comfortable clothes from when he was caught, but instead a rather formal suit, with dark gray slacks, a light gray dress shirt with the sleeves folded back halfway up his forearms, and a black suit vest, covering the bottom of a dark blue tie.
"I go by Demo." He introduced himself with a flourish, pulling a fedora with a pair of dual colored feathers- the same blue and orange of his eyes, stuck into the band- out of nowhere like a magic trick.. "And I'm what's known as a Simulator."
"Simulator?" Yaoyorozu muttered, sharing a confused look with Todoroki, who shrugged back.
"As for where we are and how you got here," Demo continued, placing the hat on his head as he stood up straight. "Well, this is basically my own little corner of all of Existence. I brought you here to simulate something." He shrugged, smiling like that explained everything.
"Now, we're on a bit of a time crunch, so please keep all arms and legs inside the vehicle at all times, and hold all questions till the end of the tour!"
"Wait, what-?" Before Aizawa could continue, the ground opened up below all of them, throwing them into pitch blackness, before they landed in what looked like a small open train that belonged in a Zoo.
Demo quickly dropped down into the front of the car, knocking on the engine. "Let's mosey." He grinned, as steam began to puff up and out.
"Now, I've gathered you all here today for two simple reasons. The first is so I can say "I've gathered you all here today." Always wanted to say that." He smiled, which grew upon hearing small snickers scattered throughout the train. "The second is because, well… I'm gonna be messing around with your world's settings a bit."
"Explain." Aizawa demanded, hands tight around the scarf, eyes glaring red.
"Ok, so, lemme lay down some exposition for ya. Like I said, I'm a Simulator-"
"A Simulator of what?" Izuku asked, unable to contain his curiosity.
"Excellent question! Us Simulators, as the name implies, simulate alternate realities! See, way back when, before the Big Bang, there was nothing." He pulled a blank classroom whiteboard down from out of thin air. "No light, no heat, no time. Pure emptiness. Except, for what we've taken to call The Entity." A single black dot appeared in the middle. "Basically, a living black hole that held within it all the matter and energy that makes up the Multiverse. Anyway, after a few seconds- or eons. Like I said, time wasn't around yet- it decided it was sick of the emptiness, and BLEW ITSELF UP!" The entire board blacked out, like someone had thrown a bucket of black paint on it. "Hence the Big Bang.
"Now, it could only make the one Universe, but there were so many variables, so many decisions, that the universe would never get to see pan out. So, using the infinite energy it had, it made us." Several stick figures in a rainbow of colors popped into being, surrounding a bright white star. "We were tasked to go out into this new Universe, and watch it, and let our curiosity grow. Then, after we'd seen however much we wanted, we'd make a smaller sub-universe branching off the main one." The figures turned into stars of their own, connected to the large white star by strings. "Then more Simulators would see those, and branch from there." Even more stars in even more colors appeared, connected to the first group. "So on and so forth." The scene shrunk down to make room for more and more stars, branching off until a massive web stretched across the board, with lines slowly branching out from the furthest reaches to make their own stars.
The train pulled into what looked like a subway station, with a large set of stairs that they were quickly led up, before encountering another large set of doors, this time wooden, but with the same wide, sharp-toothed grin and mismatching blue and orange eyes.
"Hold it!" Aizawa growled, glaring at Demo head on, who in turn raised a questioning eyebrow. "You still haven't said why we're here."
"Isn't it obvious?" He chuckled, adjusting his tie and hat as he walked past the Underground Hero. Demo placed his hand on the doors, right at the seam where they connected, and light rushed up and down, outlining the doors and drawing new symbols all across the oak wood.
"I'm gonna be showing you another world!" He said, as two orbs dropped from the ceiling and began to slide down the grooves of the door like a massive pachinko machine, one bright green, red, and gold labeled BNHA, and the other red-brown and bronze, labeled MH. The two orbs rolled their way down to the center where the double doors met, before fusing into one glowing white sphere, leaving the eyes to flash and open the door with a low creak.
The Simulator turned and faced his astonished guests with a wide grin, one corner tugged up to make it cocky, outlined by a bright light coming from the room behind him. "Let's get to it, shall we?"
