Serpent's Lair

Abel breathed out raggedly, his form aching, laying upon the cobblestones. His hands curled into fists, he lifted his head, his eyes meeting Cain's, his gaze sharp as a knife. Even in his monstrous form, his wings shorn and bloodstained, he could not move for another moment.

Cain knelt before him, reaching out his hand, and cupped Abel's face, a mocking soothing gesture. He smiled softly, a malicious glint in his eyes, and Abel grit his teeth.

"Don't you understand, dear brother? It's all for nothing." Cain spoke, his voice soft, barely above a whisper.

Abel swallowed down any harsh words to spit out. He had to hold on, he just had to.

Cain tilted his head, the smile still upon his features, and his eyes glowed blood-red. Abel froze, his body rigid and unmoving. His own eyes burned; he shut them tight, tight together, the pain stinging his sight, but his eyes reopened on their own. His mouth parted, again not of his own volition.

Abel couldn't move, couldn't speak, and he couldn't break free of Cain's grip on him, not even as he began to lean forward and press his lips on his own. It was a searing kiss, not gentle, nor was it what Abel had wanted; it was only what Cain wanted.

He tasted blood, Cain's blood coating his tongue, and he could not think anymore. His body felt lax, the burning in his eyes faded away, and his vision was then coated red.

Cain pulled away, standing back on his feet, his breath hitched, smiling.

Abel moved again, kneeling in front of his brother.

No.

No.

No.

He knelt and bowed down before his Master.
