Nutty and Charming
He was kissing her.
Sirius Black was kissing her.
Marlene could hardly believe it, but why did it have to happen this way?
The cool breeze from the open window blew through her hair, causing her to shutter and Sirius to pull her closer.
"You okay?" He murmured against her temple, his fingers trailing through her curls.
Marlene nodded, hiding her face against his shoulder, the thoughts of what if coming back to her. What if he didn't actually want her? What if he was planning on turning and dumping her two weeks from then? What if it was all a joke, a game to him? She was just another girl? Marlene took a shaky breath, trying to keep up the facade of being as he asked, okay.
But no, stupid Sirius and his stupid self, pulling back and giving her that stupid charming smile of his stupid self. "What is it?" He asked, his stupid curiosity peaked.
How had he found her again? Crying. Did that mean he cared? He had chased her to the seventh floor, cornering her in a classroom and demanded what was wrong. No one else had noticed her diminished appetite throughout the day after the morning mail, at least to her knowledge. But, then he ran after her with the speed and determination of a dog. Now that she thought about it, Sirius smelled like a dog— sourt of. "You're playing with me," she finally said, stepping back and shrugging his arm off her shoulders.
Hurt briefly flashed across Sirius' face. "No, I really do like you," he muttered rubbing the back of his neck nervously.
Marlene scoffed, "really? I have watched you for three years . . . . three! And you never even looked my way. And-and when I would do small things-things for you? You were just proud for being Sirius, never thanking me."
Sirius stepped back, holding his hands up in surrender. "I know," he said, "and I'm sorry. Marlene, I was a fool."
"Boys usually are."
He smiled, a genuine smile.
Marlene stepped towards him, and bringing her hand back, she slapped him in the face, not very hard, though.
Sirius grinned at her stupidly.
"Are you" she was cut off by him grabbing her around the waist and pulling her flush against him, his lips crashing down on hers hungrily.
When they pulled apart, Marlene was gasping for air, not used to the tension in the air, how desire ate at her insides. And, she knew he knew it.
Sirius smirked down at her, his hand cupping her cheek, pressing warm against her jaw. "For someone inexperienced, you are wonderful," he leaned in, capturing her lips with his again, moving slow before picking up speed.
Marlene moaned against his mouth, giving Sirius the opportunity to immediately dart his tongue inside. She groaned again, snaking her fingers through his hair and tugging him closer to her body.
Eventually, Sense of responsibility over the situation caught up with her and she broke away much to Sirius' disappointment. "We need to stop before this goes too far," she gasped, licking at her swollen lips.
Sirius whined, much like a puppy would when told no. His hands gripped hers as he leaned back in, "I want this, Marlene, and I want to be there for you."
Marlene almost started crying again, but went to wipe the tears away, but Sirius stopped her. "That means letting you cry and comfort you. That's what you women like, right?" He pulled her back into his arms and held her close.
She nodded.
"Let me prove myself to you," said Sirius, letting a lock of Marlene's hair twist around his fingers before allowing it to spring free, where it tumbled down her back.
Marlene inhaled his scent, the smell of rain, pine needles, a nutty smell, and the undertones of dog. It was Sirius, the dog, the nutty scent, the mischievous grin, and the notorious charismatic personality. "Okay. But Lilly will kill you if you hurt me," she beamed up at him, her eyes twinkling.
Sirius thought she was beautiful with the way her curls framed her face and her smile lit up her whole face, reaching her eyes. "I feel like you'll beat her to it," he mumbled, not looking forward to being cursed to oblivion.
Marlene stood on her tiptoes, pressing a soft kiss to his cheek, "You're most certainly right, Mr. Black."
Sirius sighed, touching her face with the tips of his fingers, tracing the soft skin of her cheek.
"You're very hand-zee," she commented offhandedly as his finger trailed down her jaw.
Stepping away, Sirius shoved his hands in the pockets of his jacket and shrugged, "I can't help it."
Marlene rolled her eyes with a huff, crossing her arms. "Bed, Black, now," she said brushing past him. As she reached the door she turned back, "I don't want to walk to the common room alone," she stared down at the ground, biting her bottom lip.
Dramatically, Sirius flung his arms down by his sides and spun around, swaying on the spot. "It would be my honor, Milady," he came forward, flinging the door open and taking her hand in his, holding it up before bowing and placing a kiss on the backs of her fingers.
Marlene stamped down on a blush as she followed after him giggling uncontrollably.
Sirius had kissed her and this happened.
