Author's Note: I wanted to write a thing where Max punches Billy, okay? Set in S2E2: Trick or Treat, Freak. It is the scene where Max and Billy are driving home and Billy nearly hits the trio on their bikes.

He Didn't See It Coming
"...You…"
Max knew she made a mistake the second the word breathed out of her mouth.
She already became an expert at disassociating through Billy's bouts of rage. It was deserved this time for antagonizing him, as indirect and minute as the conversation was. Everything set him off. Maybe she should've just skated home, at least she wouldn't be here with him.
The car sped up and she came back to her senses when she saw the stalkers riding just ahead. She quickly glanced at Billy, but there was no indication of him slowing down at all.
He wouldn't.
"Billy slow down," she shouted over the blaring music.
His response was horrifying. Her eyes widened then as they rapidly approached the trio.
"This isn't funny! Slow down!"
That wicked smirk and glint in his eye told her everything.
"Billy, stop being a jerk!"
Max felt her fist connecting with Billy's face before lunging for the wheel. The camaro swerved violently into the other lane, catching the dirt and leaves from the ditch and causing them to fishtail around.
At least Billy had the sense to hit the brakes.
Max didn't hesitate to get out of the car the second it stopped. Her jacket and bag flung over her shoulder and skateboard hitting the pavement faster than Billy could react.
"What the hell, you bitch!" Billy shrieked, holding his bleeding nose.
"I'll skate home!" she yelled back, flipping him off.
Knowing she would hear it later, right now she didn't care. He wouldn't get off easy after she'd tell her side, either. He deserved it.
Max noticed the three had stopped and watched the incident unfold.
"Hey, you alright?" one of them asked.
"I'm fine, but we should get off the road," she said, hearing the roar of the engine and screeching tires behind them. "Like, now."
"We know a shortcut," the one with curly hair said.
Max kicked her skateboard up and tucked it under her arm, looking at the camaro now properly back on the road. She felt that bout of panic that he'd follow them as the engine growled, accelerating rapidly and eating up the small distance between them. She quickly trudged down the bank and into the woods, tailing the three walking their bikes through a narrow deer path.
She physically jumped when the camaro screamed behind her. Letting out a breath, she pushed a branch out of the way as her nerves started to numb.
They better not get her lost.
