Chapter 1: Blind Love
After Noah Puckerman underwent amputation surgery on both legs at the knee, his life took a significant turn. During this challenging period, he found solace and comfort in the company of his young niece, Tracy Anderson. Despite the physical limitations he faced, Noah made it a priority to spend as much time as possible with Tracy, disregarding the presence of his friends.
Noah's bond with Tracy was unbreakable, and he cherished every moment they shared. Whether Noah was at home or in a hospital room, he focused solely on his niece. Their joy and laughter provided a much-needed respite from what Noah was going through. Tracy's innocence and positive energy were a constant source of inspiration for him.
While Noah's friends expressed concern and offered their support, he seemed to be in a world of his own whenever Tracy was around. He didn't intentionally ignore his friends; his attention and affection were just all about his niece. Their connection transcended physical limitations and became a profound bond founded on love and understanding.
Noah's dedication to Tracy was evident in how he adapted his lifestyle to accommodate her presence. He created a safe and inclusive environment where they could engage in various activities together. Whether he played board games, read stories, or shared quiet moments, Noah made every effort to make Tracy feel loved and cherished.
Despite his challenges, Noah found comfort in the simplicity and purity of his relationship with Tracy. Through their interactions, he discovered a renewed sense of purpose and an unwavering determination to overcome his obstacles. His friends, though occasionally left on the sidelines, understood the significance of Tracy's presence in Noah's life and respected the bond they shared.
Soon, every time Quinn took Noah to Kurt's, Tracy had Noah follow her to her room and glare at the others, who seemed to ignore Noah. Noah had never noticed and didn't care. Then, on Tracy's third birthday, she had had enough and demanded that Noah's friends stop ignoring him. She thought it was very mean that grownups would ignore a friend and sad that Noah only wanted to be around a toddler. Noah had his legs cut off. He wasn't dead and needed them.
Then Noah wheels to Artie and says, "I knew the others would ignore me, but I thought you or Tina would have my back. What the hell gives, man? I have been depressed for months, and none of you have checked on me once. Tracy is the only one who has made me feel better in the last six months since I came home. What the hell is wrong with all of you? Why would you shut me out like that? I can see you rallying around Quinn, but you ignore me. Why?"
Rachel tries to speak when Tracy says, "Bullshit, you have to, Mommy. Quinnie only comes to change his diapers after I scream at her to change them. Did you know Nono has nightmares or that I sing to him to get him to calm down?"
Noah picks Tracy up as she continues, "I bet Uncle Finn wouldn't have ignored Nono and would be as mad as I am! Now, stop ignoring Nono!"
They soon head back to Tracy's room. Quinn follows them and says, "Tracy, I'm sorry. I thought Nono didn't want to be around me. I didn't mean to ignore him." She then sat in Tracy's timeout chair and broke down, crying.
Noah tries to comfort her, but she pushes him away. Then Tracy climbs onto her lap, and they fall on the floor before they burst out laughing.
As she got up, Quinn told Tracy, "I hear you want me and Nono to move in here." Before Tracy's father, Kurt started to panic and tell the others Tracy never said that.
Then Noah wheeled himself out of the room and yelled, "You were taking care of your dad when you were a teenager, and you can't take care of your brother's best friend!"
He shouts at Rachel, "You were Finn's girlfriend! Your daughter is the only one I wanted to be around because she is the only person who didn't treat me like I was a leper! I am still here, and you all have acted like you don't give two shits about me! Quinn is my girlfriend! She has been dealing with my night sweats and nightmares! Tracy is three and helped Quinn deal with my depression and anger for months!" He soon returns to Tract's room with the gift he bought for Tracy and helps her open it.
Noah bought her an Elsa costume and a plush Hulk doll with a Mohawk. Tracy's other gifts were clothing her parents would have bought her.
Noah was madder about her clothes and said, "I get Tracy what she asked for, and you guys get her clothes! If I got clothes for my third birthday! I would be throwing a fit or cutting them up. What kid would want clothes?"
Kurt glares at Noah and says, "She needed new clothes for preschool, and we couldn't afford them anymore! Taking care of a toddler is expensive, Puck!"
Noah scoffs and says, "Your dad could afford to buy anything you wanted while my mom worked double shifts to afford to put me and Sarah through college! Don't give me that crap, Kurt! You are an actor on Broadway. You can't afford clothes?"
He looks at Quinn as he says, "Maybe Quinn and I should move in. With my benefits, maybe Tracy can have what she wants."
Kurt glares at Noah and says, "We barely get along, and now you want to move in, Puck. Why would you want to live here with me?"
Quinn elbows Blaine as she tells Kurt, "You and Finn barely got along when you tried to steal him from me. Plus, if it wasn't for Puck, you might never have met Blaine in the first place." Kurt soon gives in, but he isn't happy about it.
The day Quinn and Noah move in, Noah proposes to Quinn at a party at Kurt's. Quinn, of course, says yes before everybody makes Mr. P jokes, which annoys Kurt more than Quinn.
Soon, Quinn would wake up and find Noah in Tracy's room almost every night. So, she bought a walkie-talkie for Tracie and said, "Only use this when you can't text me or if your parents can't hear you. He calms down quicker if I sing to him, and I know he is bigger than you, but holding him helps, too."
Tracy rolls her eyes and says, "You and I know that I have helped Nono since he came home. Plus, that's why he comes to my room. The nightmares he can wake up from scare him more than the ones he needs help with, and he is too chicken to tell you If you ask me. Nono should stay in my room every night so he doesn't wake you."
Tracy sighs and continues, "I know Aunt Beth is your daughter. She looks like you. Papa Blaine and Mommy Rachel have been helping me yell at Nana Shelby for Nono. Do you think it's why he wants to be near me more?" Quinn nods but says nothing.
Chapter 2 will be up soon.
