Chapter 6 – Mytilene (Wednesday)

They spent the day relaxing on the beach and planning their activities for the days Santana would be singing. They didn't want her to be too tired to sing but they wanted to do some sight-seeing.

"We can do the churches tomorrow morning and afternoon. Maybe the archaeological museums on Friday and the castle on Saturday. Just take it easy. We can do some shopping on Sunday before we head for Molyvos."

"Sounds good to me, Britt. Anything special in Molyvos?"

"I really want to feed the wild horses. Maybe actually go on a horseback ride?" She said hopefully.

Santana sighed. "But … Britt …" she whined. "They're really big and their teeth could cut me in half."

Brittany laughed. "They're gentle animals, San. I think if you gave it a chance you'd actually enjoy it."

Santana looked at Brittany's hopeful face and relented; she had known the minute Brittany mentioned it she would. "Alright, Britt. We'll look into going horseback riding."

Brittany grinned and leaned over and kissed Santana. "Thank you, San."

Santana just shook her head and smiled. She would really do anything for this girl.

"Maybe we can take a day and just drive around? I mean, you can get from one end of Lesbos to the other in ten hours. So we could just explore to see what's out there that the guide books and google don't tell us about."

"That sounds like a good idea. Then we can plan little day trips to the places we find interesting. And," Santana added, "it's not like we HAVE to leave next Sunday. We can extend our stay if we want to do more. It may not be a 'girl-on-girl paradise' but it is pretty close to general paradise."

Brittany laughed. "Oh, I wanna see if we can find Sappho's house or something like that. I mean, there has to be something dedicated to her, right?"

"I would think so. We can ask around."

They lounged around for the morning, went in for lunch and a nap, had dinner and decided to walk the beach at sunset.

They were walking hand-in-hand, shoes in their free hands, while they strolled along the wet sand letting the warm water lap at their feet. After walking for a bit, they stopped and cuddled in to each other to watch the sunset. The beautiful pinks and purples and oranges giving way to the darker purples, blues, and grays of twilight.

Santana turned in Brittany's arms and looked up at her beautiful dancer. Her emotions began to overwhelm her and tears slipped free and started sliding down her face.

Brittany brought a hand up and cupped Santana's cheek, thumbing away the tears.

"What's wrong, sweetheart?"

Santana shook her head. She couldn't explain that nothing was wrong she was just overwhelmed.

"I just love you so much. I'm scared I'm going to screw up again. I'm so happy we're here together. It's just … so many emotions and I guess I'm just a little overwhelmed with everything I'm feeling."

Brittany smiled softly. "First … I love you too. More than I'll probably ever be able to express. Second, you're not going to screw up; the only way you can screw up is by cheating on me." Brittany quirked at brow at Santana. "That in your plans?"

Santana smiled and shook her head. "Never."

"Then we're good. I love you. I'm not going to let you go easily and I'm not going to let you break up with me again. I'm willing to fight and work to keep us together."

"Me too, Britt." Santana's voice was quiet.

Brittany leaned down and let her lips slide gently over Santana's, smiling into the kiss as Santana responded. Brittany tilted her head and deepened the kiss, pulling Santana closer. She pulled away and smiled as Santana whimpered. She placed an arm around Santana's shoulders and started walking back down the beach the way they came.

"Let's go back to the room, order some champagne and a light dinner, then call it an early night."

Santana nodded. "That sounds good. Maybe cuddles and a movie?"

"Whatever you want, San."
