What you recognize I don't own. After the battle with Ultima Clive wishes that he could have changed certain things, like Cid's death and other issues that popped up during the years that he had been called Cid. Jill and Joshua also wished that and so they along with Cid were sent to the past, Cid arrived a few days before Phoenix Gate happened, the others will happen after the events that changed everything, though for Clive it won't be too much after those events. Also if you've read previous stories you know I don't do accents, though sometimes I try, Gav's accent will happen at the start and if I feel I can't get it his speech will return to normal speech and you'll have to assume it's his accent coming into play. Also Stolas messages are italicized while Eikons talking to their Dominant's will be in asterisks, for Clive plain asterisks will denote Ifrit, this will denote Bahamut while this will denote Ramuh and as for Clive speaking back to them mentally this will be seen. Also there's also going to be a small epilogue after a certain event because due to the changes that will happen before the main game timeline happens there really isn't much to tell. Also I will not be following any of the timeline or some of the ages established by the official book that came out recently

Cid woke up to a feeling of being shaken and shoots up from his bed and then hears a very familiar voice

"Cid, are you okay?"

"Gav?"

"Yeah, you were screaming something aweful in your sleep so I've been trying to wake ya for a few minutes now"

Once Cid takes a moment to calm down from the shock of actually being alive and in the place they were located before they had established the Hideaway he asks a Very Important Question

"What...what day is it?"

When Cid hears the day he realized that he had only a brief time to try and prevent the events of Phoenix Gate from happening and so packed what he needed for a couple days journey and left Gav in charge of the group while he was out. Unfortunately he would arrive mere hours after the events of that night, and while Cid wished he could give the people dead a proper burial he knew that he had to hurry if he wanted to prevent Clive from being Branded, but he did stop long enough in front of who was obviously Clive's father and swore a blood oath

"I swear that Clive will never be Branded except over my dead body, and I also swear that you and your youngest will be avenged for what happened here last night, somehow, someway I will help Clive discover the full truth of yesterday, even if I don't know the whole truth myself we'll find out together and make the true perpetrators pay for this"

Once Cid uses a piece of cloth as a makeshift bandage he quickly sets off to track down and rescue Clive before they go past Rosaria's borders, which from what Clive told him took a few days due to the size of the group and his health in the aftermath of his (unknowingly at least) first time as Ifrit. It took him two days but eventually Cid manages to catch up to Clive and his captors and manages to free Clive before the border was crossed and Clive's life changed with a brand on his face

"Well, I managed to succeed in half my blood oath Clive, though I wish it hadn't had to happen at all, but still I have a long ways to go to complete it. I have a lot to apologize for when you wake up and you won't even understand why I'm apologizing since you don't even know me"

Cid looks around and realizes another thing

"I'm also going to have to figure out how to transport you until you wake up, which I hope will be soon but at the same time might not be"

Over the next several days Cid slowly but surely started making his way back to Gav and his few followers worrying about the length that Clive had been unconscious the longer the journey continued, but finally a day or two before he estimated he would be back at base Clive finally started showing signs of waking up and thus Cid found a place to wait out the rest of the time it took Clive for Clive to wake up which took a few hours and when Clive did wake up he had to hide his surprise

"Cid?"

"Well now, you seem to know my name for someone who's been unconscious ever since I rescued you, you're welcome by the way considering the fact that there's a chance you would have been Branded and put to work in the Imperial army"

"I...I have a story to tell you, but I doubt you would believe me"

"Tell me your story and let me decide if I believe you or not"

And so Clive told Cid about how he'd met Cid in a future that now wouldn't happen since he wouldn't be serving in the Imperial army for thirteen years. Told of everything that they had done together up to Cid's death and also told him that there was more to the story beyond what he would tell Cid, but that he would wait until Cid could absorb the information he had already been told and decide if he believed Clive or not

"I see...then we remember the same future that now will never be"

"How?"

"That I don't know, I tried to stop Phoenix Gate but failed, sorry Clive"

"Don't be"

"But your brother...your oath..."

"That's what you missed, shortly after your death, just as I was losing consciousness I saw Joshua, alive, I didn't see him again properly for five more years after that brief vision but I had proof of that night. I...took up your name after your death"

"I see, well now we have some decisions to make, are you going to tell Rosaria that you're alive after all or not? I recently heard your death being declared"

"Only a select few will learn the truth, Lady Hanna, my uncle and if possible I want to rescue Jill before she awakens as Shiva's dominant and gets captured"

"Then let's get to work, what about your brother though?"

"He's safe, and being thought dead will keep the people safe"

"Any other allies you want to know you're alive?"

"Perhaps in time I'll inform Sir Wade, whom I reunited with five years after your death, same with my uncle actually, but for now it's best he thinks me dead as well, he would follow us before we're truly prepared"

"I see, now then, shall we confuse the enemy and have two Cid's working together?"

"No, instead...I'll take another name, it's not a name I particularly liked since it was given to me when I didn't give my own but it will do all the same and perhaps I won't hate it as much since I chose the name this time"

"Oh?"

"From the fall of Phoenix Gate almost until the day I met you I went by the name of Wyvern, in the field I would prefer you use that name, but in the Hideaway you can use my real name all you want, everyone can and they can know the truth regarding the fact that I'm the presumed dead Clive Rosfield"

"Then let's go with your plan and hopefully we can start changing things sooner than last time"

"Agreed"

And so they let Hanna and Clive's uncle know about Clive's survival (with Hanna giving Clive his father's clothes at a time when they were too big for him still, but he promised to wear something similar until he could wear his father's clothes) and managing to rescue Jill before she was taken to the Iron Blood stronghold. The next three years establishing the Hideaway to the point where it originally was before the fall of the place wasn't easy for Clive due to the memories he had but he managed, he'd also told his uncle the full truth of the matter during that time period though it was done carefully and over several visits. And then three years after saving Jill, and about a year and a half after she had awoken as Shiva, on her fifteenth birthday the group celebrated as usual and then after she blew out the candles on the cake they managed to make she suddenly grabbed her head in pain

"Jill, are you alright?"

"I'm fine Clive...but I think the three of us need to talk in private later"

"Right"

And so once in private Jill, Clive and Cid discussed the two very different memories Jill had of the past three years

"Life is certainly better this time around, and at least there are those that know the truth but still...to have to hide isn't easy, and seriously did you have to decide to choose a different name Clive?"

"Yes, Cid thought having two Cid's would be best for confusion reasons, but I decided to have my own name to make them fear, it's not a name I was originally happy with but...it is revenge in a way that's for sure"

"Yes I suppose it is, but don't you want to find Joshua? I mean...we know that he's alive after all and we already know about Ultima so wouldn't it be better to team up sooner to defeat him? maybe prevent some of what happened in the future that we remember"

"No, Joshua is safer where he is, in time we might reunite but for now we must remain separate and him believing I am dead most likely"

"I know you're right in a way it's just...I miss him and just want the three of us together again, like we used to be"

"I know Jill, I know, but Ultima would notice our gathering and would try and strike most likely, and then there's the Mothercrystals issue that we have yet to deal with because they do still need to be dealt with somehow"

"Right...wait will Joshua remember on his fifteenth birthday like I did? I mean...if he does that means that for one he'll remember the future that hopefully won't come to pass which means he'll know that you're alive and for another he might seek you out Clive"

"No, if he remembers the future he'll remember Ultima as well, he'll stay away to keep me from harm and will probably reunite with me at the same time he originally did, and I mean the proper reunion, not the brief moment I saw him right after Cid's death"

"I see, and we still have ten more years before we were originally bound together as a group"

"Yeah"

"We'll figure it out in time Clive, I promise, for now though let's get back to the celebration since I think the rest of the crew decided to continue without us, after all while we have had birthdays in the years since we started this, fifteen is a big day for people in Rosaria from what I remember, and the people of the Hideaway consider you Rosarian's still"

"Right, let's get back then, before they start looking for us"

Eventually everyone at the Hideaway went to sleep and the next day truly allowed Clive, Cid and Jill the chance to talk about the future that only they remembered and the differences between the two now that things had changed

"Clive...I'm wondering if now's the time to seek out Sir Wade, after all your uncle already knows the truth about your survival and if the Guardians are started sooner they might be more effective this time around and your uncle at less risk of helping them"

"Perhaps, though you and I both know we don't see him again for another...fifteen years from now and in the original timeline I hadn't seen you for thirteen and my uncle for eighteen"

"True...and then there's the fact that neither of us know of his current whereabouts, he never did tell us what he did and where he lived until the day we reunited, except to tell us they'd only been at that particular location for about a year or so"

"Gav?"

"Yeah...Gav, he could certainly find Sir Wade for us this time around, but only once we're sure it's the right thing to do, and we can certainly warn your uncle about him coming to Isolde at some point in the meantime"

"True, and Cid that blood oath you made to my father can be resumed, even though we know the truth of the matter it's still not finished"

"True"

And so Gav is told about how he was to search for either just Sir Wade or the Guardians of the Flame
