Marionette
Tokyo Revengers fanfic
AN:
So, I may have made one more chapter... this might just end up as a series of random chapters or stories put together. A story without a story...
Chapter 2:
The Devil's Trio was said to be an unpredictable bunch of kids.
Chisato had snorted when she heard Draken re-telling them what he heard about herself, Kazutora, and Baji. Sure, they tended to go a bit wild in their antics and paybacks. Like torching a man's car cause he pissed the boys off, she'd provided the gasoline and lighter. The other time, they'd seen her painting a series of choice words on someone's house, not really wanting to know how she'd discovered the secret the inhabitant inside the house hid.
And she always managed to talk her way out of trouble.
She could feel a pair of eyes piercing her back as she walked on a thin stone path between the beach and the street. Her hands were stretched out as though she was a kid pretending to be an airplane, not even watching as she walked on the treacherous path. Her companion walked a few paces ahead, not even waiting for her.
"You're an ass, you know," she called out to him.
He stopped and turned, his orchid eyes were narrowed into a glare. "I didn't ask you to be here."
"Yet, you called me, still."
"Not to invite you out here with me."
She sighed, giving the beach blond idiot a look before she took a small step back, and then she jumped off of the edge she'd been on. Izana watched her land with a small tumble and curse, she scratched her hands. He shook his head, unwilling to even check up on the annoying girl.
"Yeah, you're an ass," she said, clapping her hands and walked over to Izana, who was still glaring at her.
"And you're a bitch," he snapped back. He imagined Kakucho getting mad for addressing someone like Matsuno Chisato like that. After all, Izana wasn't in Yokohama. He'd come to Shibuya for a reason and needed her knowledge about a few certain things. Or about a certain someone.
She gave him an unimpressed look, "I can turn around and leave you here, stranded and not guiding you back to where you left your bike."
"That would be pointless because I remember the path back."
"But do you know your way around the gang territory here?" He thought her smirk reminded him of a Cheshire's grin. "Or the way not to piss off the people you're planning to meet?"
"I've managed without you -"
"Then, I'll bid you farewell and hopefully we won't run into each other again," she cut him off with her green eyes suddenly narrowed at him. "I've got better things to do than waste my time on you."
His orchid eyes stared at her, unimpressed. Unmoved. "Remind me, again, why am I putting up with you?"
"I did warn you," Chisato chuckled, without a real emotion. "You've got yourself to blame for your curiosity with me."
He turned around, his Hanafuda earrings jingled as he did so. Her eyes gazed at the accessories, rather liking the designs on them.
They both knew she spoke the truth, it had been Izana who approached her, wanting to know more about the girl said to be Mikey's woman. She had quickly cleared the rumour mill with him, saying she was only interested in her brother, almost proudly proclaiming herself as a brother-complex idiot.
Kurokawa Izana would rather die than admit that this girl, Matsuno Chisato, took him by surprise. And shock at her open admittance of liking her brother a bit too much. But the more time he spent with her, Chisato found ways to place herself into his life, he quickly discovered her claimed brother complex was a carefully constructed lie.
The girl known as Matsuno Chisato was a brilliant liar, twisting and turning people around with her clever mind. Like a person who was in charge of playing with the marionettes in a theatre. Every step, every word was calculated. He had caught glimpses of the real Matsuno Chisato now and then, but it passed too fast to be certain of what he'd seen.
He wanted to steal her from Mikey if she let him.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah."
Suddenly, he noticed her stop and point at a certain distance. "That's where you'll find what you're looking for."
"...You're not coming?"
She shook her head, "I might end up killing him if I do."
He blinked, then nodded.
There really had been no need for her to come along with him, it was rather pointless since she knew who he was searching for. So why did she?
"...You know you remind me of him," she suddenly called out to him, her blonde hair moving with the wind. Her silver earring glinted under the sunlight.
"Who?"
She crossed her arms, positioning her fingers inside the sleeves of her outfit, "I don't understand why you hate him so much when you're both so damn similar."
They stared at each other, more like he glared and she blinked. As if she was trying to read him. Of course, Mikey. She just had to bring him up. Like she always did whenever they were alone.
"Don't mention him if you want to see your brother again," was his reply to her, every single time. A threat they both knew he wouldn't be able to fully carry out.
Not because he's soft, but because if they fought…they'd both go down.
She would make sure of it.
Chisato flipped him off and turned around, waving him with the middle finger still up. Fuck you, Izana.
