Three kids sit on a bench in a park. They had been playing together all day, as this would be the last day they would see each other for a while. One of them was a boy no older than five with white hair and red eyes.

The other two were dark-skinned twins who looked a little older and whose faces were blurry. These three had been friends since they were born, as their parents were friends themselves. However, the father of the twins got a new job somewhere far away from Orario. This would be the last time they played together.

"Will I ever see you two again" Bell asked? He was sad his friends were leaving as he held his tears back, or was at least trying to.

The two girls were the same. All three of them were sad, but they tried not to show it to the other.

"Maybe one day," the older of the two twins responded.

The younger one sniffled. "I'm gonna miss you so much."

The three sat in silence for a minute before an idea came to Bell's head. "Then how about one day, when we're older, we all meet back here? Let's promise each other."

Before the twins could respond, a beeping was heard. Bell opened his eyes and hit the off button on his alarm clock. He yawned and stretched as he got out of bed and went to his bathroom. He looked at himself in the mirror, and we could see a much older Bell.

He was taller and leaner but with muscle, as his father put him through kickboxing when he was six. He stopped doing kickboxing right before he entered high school but still kept in shape, as a healthy body is a healthy mind.

He looked at his phone and saw a text from his friend Bete.

Bete: so you consider my offer about joining our soccer league?

Bell chucked and rolled his eyes. Bete had been trying to convince him for ages.

Bell: you're still on that?

Bell waited for a second for a reply.

Bete: I'll keep asking till you say yes, so better say yes already

Bell laughed as he responded.

Bell: fine, I'll think about it, but I'll talk to you later. I'm about to hop in the shower

Bete: Alright later man, see you at school, and tell Welf to record the video of when you guys shoot that model rocket in the air. That shit sounds cool

Bell: I will. Hopefully, the rocket doesn't explode

Bete: be kinda cool if it did

Bell: true

With the final message sent, Bell put his phone down and hopped in the shower. As he was showering, his mind wandered back to that dream. Why did those two feel familiar? He couldn't remember their names or faces. But why was that?

He felt as if he knew them, but he couldn't remember them, and this wasn't the first time he had this dream either. But Bell decided to push it to the back of his mind. If he couldn't remember, there was no use in trying to rack his brain to do so. If the time came and he did good for him. But he wouldn't really be bothered if it didn't come back to him.

Right?

Getting out of the shower and drying off, Bell got dressed and brushed his teeth. Since his school didn't require a uniform and it was the beginning of spring, he decided to wear a white T-shirt with red shorts and grey running shoes.

Once he finished getting dressed, he grabbed his phone and went downstairs, seeing his dad sitting at the table while his mom made breakfast. Hearing their son come down, the two said good morning to him.

"Morning, sweetie. Breakfast will be ready soon, so take a seat," his mother greeted. Bell's mother was a short beautiful woman with white hair like his and blue eyes. She was dressed in nurse scrubs as she worked as a nurse at the Dian Chect hospital. It was named after the god who came to Orario and opened that hospital up, offering affordable care to those who needed it. His mother was very good friends with the head doctor Airmid Tenassare.

"Morning Bell. Once breakfast is over, I'll take you to school," his father greeted. Bell's father was a tall man with blonde hair and red eyes. He had a handsome face with a small scar on his cheek where a bullet had grazed him. His dad was a police officer with the rank of lieutenant. Currently, he was studying for his captain's exam as he was one of the few allowed to take it this year.

Bell took a seat and sat down across from his dad. "Bete asked me if I was gonna join his soccer league again."

His dad looked up from his book a chuckled. "He's still trying to get you to join. When's he gonna take no for an answer?

Bell laughed. "That's the thing. He said he'd keep asking me until I said yes.

Bell's mom set down a plate of pancakes in front of Bell as his dad got up to get his plate. "Bete seems like a nice boy. Why don't you at least give one a game chance."

Bell started to cut up his pancake. "Alright, I'll think about it, Mom."

After that small talk, the family ate and finished their breakfast before it was time for Bell and his Dad to leave.

Bell's mom kissed him on the cheek before he left. "Don't be at Welf's too long tonight, we're having some company over for dinner, and your father and I want you here."

Bell put his shoes on and grabbed his backpack. "Alright, Mom, I'll try and be home by six."

Meteria then went over and kissed her husband as Bell rolled his eyes and looked away. After that was done, his father Seth ruffled Bell's hair before the two walked out the door. His mother wouldn't have to be at work til later.

As the father and son duo walked out of their house into the neighborhood they lived in, they saw their neighbor Peter Parker leaving for work as well. Peter Parker was a very rich man who owned Parker Industries, one of the biggest tech companies in the world. Yet he didn't let the money go to his head and decided to live in the nice quaint neighborhood Bell and his family live in.

"Morning Peter" his dad waved.

"Morning, Mr. Parker," Bell fretted.

Peter turned his head and looked at the two. "Morning Seth, Morning Bell. You on your way to school."

Bell nodded his head. "Yes, sir"

Peter smiled. "Good, stay in school as that can open a whole lot of possibilities for you. I mean, I stayed in school, and look at where I am now."

Seth chuckled. "I remember you missing a lot of it."

Peter looked at Seth with a smirk. "And I still had higher grades than you. Say you need help studying for your captain's exam," Peter joked.

"Ha ha, very funny, Peter, well I'll see you later. Gotta get the little one to school and then off to work," Seth waved. Peter waved back and also said goodbye as Bell and his dad hopped in his police car.

"I still find it weird how you went to school with Mr. Parker," Bell commented.

His dad put his seatbelt on and turned the engine on. "Yeah, Peter and I go way back. One of the nicest and smartest people I've ever known. He did get bullied a lot when we were kids, but I helped him out whenever I could"

"Is that your inner sense of justice coming out" Bell teased.

His father gave him a side-eye as he was driving. "Don't make me put you in a room with Alise again."

Bell felt a shiver go down his spine. "I rescind my comment, but how is she doing, by the way."

His father smiled. "She's doing good. She just made sergeant at such a young age, too," his father said, sounding proud of his subordinate.

His father stopped the car at a red light. "She has been asking about you, though."

Bel turned his head to his dad. "Oh? How so"

His father gave him a knowing smirk. "She asked if you were 18 yet."

Bell groaned and rolled his eyes. "Isn't this a form of grooming? Aren't you a cop whose supposed not to let that happen"

His father let out a hearty laugh as the light turned green. "It's not grooming Bell, she isn't actively pursuing you while you're underage, and Alise is like the daughter I never had, so once your 18, I'll send her your way, and about half the girls in the police department. Such a charmer you are."

Bell let out another groan. "Great, so I have three more years of peace then. You sound like Grandpa."

Bell's father pulled the car over as they had arrived at Orario High. "I just want you to find a nice girl, that's all, and your grandpa's right. A harem is a man's romance."

Bell's pointed at his dad. "But you only have one wife."

Seth patted Bell's head. "That's because your mother is enough for me not to want another woman, now get to school. Love you, Bell."

"Love you too, Dad," Bell said as he exited his dad's police cruiser. As his dad drove off, he walked into the school seeing the students hanging out by lockers or elsewhere in the hallway.

As he was walking, he passed by a crowd of girls. However, some of these girls weren't human, as in this world, there are multiple other races, like a fantasy world of some kind, and there was also magic but not everyone had it, and those who did were rare. There were also gods who came down to help spread their knowledge and make life better for those in the lower world. However, their powers are sealed to like life more exciting for them.

So the girls that Bell passed are two elves named Lefiya and Alicia. A cat girl named Aki and a human named Ais. The four look at Bell as he walked past. Lefiya looked at him in disgust while Alicia and Aki looked him up and down and found him pretty cute. Ais looked at him with cold indifference as she had rejected Bell the week before.

Bell had a crush on Ais when he first saw her at the beginning of the school year, and with help from his friends Bete and Welf, he worked up the courage to ask her out, only to be harshly rejected. Was he a little hurt? Yes. But he wasn't going to be hung up over it and just moved on. Bell learned to move on from things fast in life.

"Is that the sophomore that asked you out, Ais? He doesn't look half bad," Aki said, her tail wagging in intrigue.

"Eh, he's not too bad looking for a human. I'll give him that" Alicia shrugged her shoulders.

Lefiya looked to the side and stuck her nose up in the air. "He got ahead of himself for even asking out Ais, what idiots would put those ideas in his head."

Ais looked at Bell's back as he walked away, not even sparing her a glance. "Why didn't he talk to me? Why didn't he ask me out again like the other boys." she thought.

Before any of the girls could say anything else, Bell turned his head to the side and smiled. Aki had a predatory in her eyes seeing the smile.

"Yo, what up, Welf," Bell said as he fist-bumped his friend.

"Nothing much was just finishing the final things for the rocket," Welf replied.

The two began walking to their class. "We ready to shoot it off this afternoon," Bell asked.

Welf nodded his head. "Yup, but I have a favor to ask"

Bell quirked an eyebrow. "Let me guess, you stayed up late perfecting the rocket and forgot to do the homework."

Welf let out an embarrassed chuckle. "Uh yeah"

Bell rolled his eyes. "Fine, I'll let you copy mine."

Welf wrapped his arm around Bell. "Thanks, man. I knew I could count on you."

Welf then let go and asked a question. "So, when are you joining Bete's soccer league."

Bell just chuckled. "Why is everyone trying to make me play."

The four girls watched as the two boys went upstairs and out of their view.

Aki turned back around and looked at Ais, confused. "He's cute, smart, athletic, and nice. Why'd you reject him."

Alicia gave her a confused look too. "Yeah, and Bete Logia himself asked him to join his soccer league. He doesn't just ask anyone to join."

Lefiya didn't say anything as she was trying to figure out what these two saw in Bell. Ais, however, was confused. Why didn't Bell come up and talk to her? Why didn't he ask her out again like all the other boys did? Before her questions could be answered, the bell rang, signaling that everyone had to get to class.

Bell's first class was science. He and Welf took their seats with their friend Lili who was a prum. Which meant she was really short compared to the two boys.

"So, are you two firing off that rocket today," she asked.

Bell reached into his backpack and got his homework passing it to Welf for him to copy. "Yeah, here's, hoping it doesn't blow up mid-air."

Welf started writing the answers down. "Would be cool if it does."

Lili gave Welf a confused look. "But wouldn't that make a really loud noise and trash all of your hard work"

Bell nodded his head. "Yes, but shit blowing up would be really cool."

Welf nodded his head in agreement.

Lili rolled her eyes. "You boys are so childish."

Bell gave her a smug look. "So you're telling me you wouldn't think something blowing up would be cool."

Lili pouted as she looked away. "Shut up"

Bell laughed as he knew he had got her. Before any more conversations could continue, the teacher started class.

"Alright, class, today we'll be learning about dental samples and how they can help in forensic evidence, take out your notebooks and get ready to write this down," Riveria, the high elf, said.

Rumors were she used to be a princess who fled her home, not wanting to deal with the politics there, and became a teacher to help nurture and grow the next generation. She cared deeply about her students but wouldn't show it to them. She was a strict but fair teacher, and her students loved her.

Welf and Bell were walking home from school. It was only a 15-minute walk to and from school from where they lived, but Bell wouldn't turn down a ride from his dad from time to time. The two had their regular schedule for school. Science with Riveria, History with Finn, P.E. with Gareth, and Math with Mary Jane. Or as Bell knew her as MJ or Peters's wife.

Tomorrow the two would have a different schedule with different classes as they were on a rotating schedule. Once the two reached Welf's house, they noticed his parents weren't home which was the usual. They weren't really around much as they had to work a lot and didn't really spend much time with Welf. If Welf's situation ever bothered him, he never said anything, but Meteria would always make some food for Bell to take over there whenever he spent the night.

Welf rubbed his hands together as Bell was setting up the rocket. "Man, I am so excited for this," Welf giddily said.

Bell finished setting the rocket up and took a few steps back. "Oh, Bete wants you to take a video of this," Bell mentioned as he went over to the launch controls.

Welf took out his phone and started to record the rocket. He looked at Bell, who gave him the thumbs up and signaled he was about to launch it.

Once Welf saw this, he focused the camera back on the rocket as Bell launched it into the air. The two boys watched as it shot up into the air.

"Oh look, it didn't explo-

BOOM

Before Welf could finish his sentence, the rocket exploded mid-air, causing a tiny explosion to be seen. The two boys ducked as debris came raining down, laughing the entire time. Once it was safe to peak up, they saw the burned remains of the rocket in Welf's backyard.

Bell pointed at the debris. "Hey, Welf, I think it blew up."

Welf kept laughing as he stopped recording. "I fucking see that, man. That was loud."

Bell laughed. "Hopefully, no one calls the cops about that"

The two then cleaned up the debris, and once they were finished, Bell had to go home for dinner. However, the two boys agreed that another rocket would be made and launched.

Bell didn't live too far from Welf, only a 10-minute walk at most. But as he was walking, his phone started ringing. He looked at it and saw Bete was calling him. He let out a chuckle and answered it.

"What's up, man" Bell answered.

"Yo, Welf just sent me the video. I didn't actually think you'd make the rocket blow up."

"It's not like I did it on purpose."

Bell could hear Bete laughing on his side on the line. "That's true, but I'm also calling you about the soccer thing, and before you say no, I have a proposal for you."

This piqued Bell's interest, so he decided to hear Bete out. Bell could see his home in the distance and put his hand on the doorknob to open it.

"Alright, tell me your genius proposal." Bell asked as he took his shoes off and put his backpack next to it. His mom heard him come in and went to greet him but saw he was on the phone. She signaled the two guests that were around the corner to wait.

"20 whole dollars to play two games. If you don't want to play after that, that's fine," Bete offered.

Bell chuckled as he looked up and saw his mom. He smiled at her and signaled one minute. "Alright, deal, but I would've done it for free. I was actually going to text you today that I'd try a few games out."

Bell heard Bete laugh. "If only I waited a few more hours, alright, smart boy, I'll still give ya the 20 dollars. First game's next week on Saturday at 10 AM. I'll have my dad set some gear aside for you to use."

"Alright, see you at school, tomorrow, man."

"Later"

Bell then hung up the phone and put it in his pocket, and smiled at his mom. "Well, looks like Bete was able to convince me to play a couple of games."

His mother gave him a gentle smile. "That's good, Bell, but I have some people who want to see you."

Bell tilted his head in confusion before a look of remembrance appeared on his face. "Oh, is it the company you're having over"

His mother nodded and then signaled the two to come forward. Bell heard fast footsteps as if someone was running and was tackled to the ground by two people.

When he was able to get a look at their faces, he remembered who they were. The faces of his childhood friends were no longer blurry.

And I'm gone end it here. I bet you know who the childhood friends are, and next chapter will be dinner and a certain encounter with a spider.

Also, this story will be updated a little slower than my other story, as my focus is on that story right now.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this prologue of Bell having a normal life, and oh my god, I actually gave him parents for once.
