Chapter 1 My name is...

"Masashi! are you paying attention?" My eyes dart away from the window and the tree outside to the middle-aged woman i believed to have called my name. "Yes mam I quickly say without thinking."

I tune out whatever else she says to me, instead opting to look around. "Where am I? It appears to be some classroom in some sort of eastern style building." Looking around i could see that the other participants in said room were children around the ages of 6-12, odd seeing as my current age is older than that. "WAIT JUST A MINUTE! This isn't my body" I jumped up and exclaimed. it took a few seconds for me to realize everyone was staring directly at me, for I hadn't meant to say that out loud. "Listen Masashi if you can't pay attention to my class then go sit in detention by yourself, now young man." Perfect I could use a moment to gather my senses and recuperate.

What had happened to me? One moment I had been driving back to my home after work and I end up here in a different country! I had to be somewhere in Asia given the peoples appearance and stature.

Teleportation aside what was really odd was my body difference and what that teacher called me. "Masashi I think it was." wait a minute. I run to the nearest bathroom as quickly as my feet can carry me. And to my horror was not the face I expected rather it was the face of a child with slightly tanned skin, hazel eyes and most oddly, I had sharp teeth akin to a shark. "Well this is certainly an odd predicament I have found myself in." Going back to the classroom I was contemplating further on my situation when the oddest sight hit my eyes, for a man was running on the ceiling. I Shit you not a man was running on the goddamn ceiling! Looking further at his person I saw a red flak jacket and the thing that had had me finally figuring out just exactly where I was. A headband with a piece of metal adorning the front with the image of two rocks carved out of it. "Holy shit I'm in the Naruto verse!"

Somewhere in Konoha...

Jiraiya blurred across the rooftops of his home, using chakra to speed his legs up using muscle enhancement. Finally reaching the Hokage Tower bursting through the window much to the poor anbu's suprise. "Hokage sama I have urgent news!" Spinning around in his chair, the titled "God Of Shinobi" looked at Jiraiya with a stern expression. "What is it my student that causes you to barge through my window at this time of day?" Jiraiya noticed that the old man's awareness had not dulled at all despite his age, as he had kept his hand near his desk where a set of kunai lay as a deterrent to anyone foolish enough to try anything. "The great toads prophecy has changed Hokage sama." A lone eyebrow just slightly furrowed to show that the old mans interest had been peaked. "there has been born today one in the world who would alter the fate of everything my lord."

Hiruzen pov

Once again Jiraiya had come to his tower yelling about his damn prophecy's. Really he had no respect for the old man and his heart rate. Tensions were extremely high in the shinobi world with the third war raging on. regardless he would do whatever needed to protect his village. And if the prophecy said this person was a danger to his village... Well, Hiruzen had many possible avenues to go to.

"Send out your spies Jiraiya to every corner of the world, scour for your child of prophecy."

"Yes Hokage sama." The man repeated and quickly jumped back out through the window.

Hiruzen really was getting too old for this. Well at least he had suitable replacements in place for if he died or stepped down. "Yes very suitable replacements." As the two men he could see taking up his mantle one day entered his office. "Tobi-sensei, Hashi-sensei the future of the village is in great hands."

The following day. outside the Village Hidden in the Rocks

I had followed the rest of the class back to the orphanage where the child who used to control this body used to live. I had tuned out everything else that had happened the rest of the evening, some children had demanded I play with them at some point and there had been some sort of dinner at one point, but I didn't care, I needed to think and figure out what to do next.

Thinking of my situation I needed to asses what I knew of the timeline and then figure out what point i was in the timeline. I would need to get access to a journal, which I didn't see anywhere in my room. "Well time to test out my sneaking skills." I waited for the headmistress to check that all the kids were sleeping.

around a half-hour later the check went through and I began my mission. Checking the door I slowly turned the handle and... With a Click it opened. and I began my mission.

The next afternoon after school

Passing my my self-assigned mission the day before with flying colors I had procured myself a journal. But what I was really happy at was the fact I had stumbled upon the key to figuring out just where I was in the world's timeline. A FREAKING BINGO BOOK! I had to be sure that the headmistress didn't catch me with this in my hands, the poor lady's heart would implode; as the Shinobi's life was the last thing she wanted for any of her children. But back to the matter at hand. I opened the red book containing the names, faces, and any details known about the scumbags, thieves, assassins, and mercenary's we know as Shinobi. Analyzing the pages I found names I expected to starting with Iwagakure. Ohnoki and the Jinchuriki, were really the only notable people as the country was extremely lacking in quality ninja. Next up Kumogakure. 3rd raikage was there, but he was noted as recently deceased. A was there, as was killer B the rapping menace. Kirigakure had their swordsmen. and Sunagakure had the kage and Sasori. "So most likely I'm in between the start and end of the 3rd great war, if my knowledge of the verse remains consistent." "Only one way to find out," as I open the Bingo Book to the page of the village that produces monsters at a rate unheard of. Konohagakure. Hiruzen Sarutobi The "God of shinobi." "Even if that title belonged to Hashirama or Madara

he still gets credit for being one of the strongest alive, and he is just slightly past his prime. Still a monster in every sense". Next the 3 sages. I saw two disgusting yellow slit eyes staring at me. "I'm going to make sure you die one day Orochimaru.

Naruto being the saint he is forgave you for the disgusting shit you did, but I'll make sure you pay you freak." Next on the list was Tsunade Senju. "Ah, now I understand why jiraiya chased after her all these years." A true beauty in every sense with the strongest punch in the series (arguably) and the medical knowledge to save and take lives with stunning efficiency.

Now onto the sensei of the child of prophecy and the perviest man in the world. Jiraiya of the Sannin. Honestly outside of Guy and Lee, Jiraiya was the character I respected most for their work ethic.

He turned himself from a nobody into a beast that I hope I never have to fight. Scrolling through some more I found suprisingly, that Sakumo hatake was still alive along with Itachi at five years old being there! all I saw was red hair and red chains and I knew who that was. I scrolled for quite a while which was a testament to how ridiculous that village was, till I found Him. The only man with a run on sight and pray he didn't find you description in the whole book. "MINATO NAMIKAZE," the Yellow Flash and killer of a thousand ninja in 10 minutes. "Note to myself, make friends with his son as soon as possible if he survives." Closing the book and putting it back into my backpack I headed back to the orphanage.

One week later

"Why is this chakra crap so damn difficult!" As I tried and failed to reach into my power source for the 12th time in the past hour. It should have been easy, the book I Found in the nearby library said to meditate and reach inside yourself till you grab something. Unfortunately the process hadn't worked so far and I'd made minimal progress. "I'm missing something I just don't know what it is." I decided to take a break and run it back one more time, trying to remember anything that could help me. "I wonder if how big your chakra pool is has anything to do with how easy it is to access it for the first time?"

"Well no shit dumbass. it be like trying to find a needle in a haystack, but the haystack is your spiritual energy and I don't even know what that is to begin with...

Wait, could it really be that easy? If spiritual energy is comprised of one's self, and physical energy is that of how physically strong you are. Then all I need to figure out what kind of energy do I output? after all Naruto could sense peoples mood through their chakra, even if it was with the help of Kurama and Sage Mode."

Trying once again I reached into my spirit as best I could and searched for anything at all. "My chakra will resemble my person." What does my soul look like? all the sudden it hit me. "I don't care about this world. After all It's not mine I don't belong here." Then I felt it. "Is this what my Chakra feels like?" It felt cold, uncaring, almost metallic? reaching further I grabbed it and pulled it up as best I could outwards. Whoosh! A gray metallic fire looking energy swirled around me for a few seconds. "I can get more than this I'm sure of it" Reaching back into my chakra I pulled as hard as I physically could. Fooooooom! A rush of energy and I blacked out.

A few miles away from there

"Target has been spotted sir. Permission to engage?"

"Negative, wait for confirmation that the explosives have been set."

"But sir he's right there-"

"I said negative."

There was a few seconds before the response came on the chakra radio. "Understood sir."

Toshi laid back from his position overlooking the Bandit Camp. "These genin really are so damn impatient. Just wait until these poor kids start to actually encounter Shinobi that are actively trying to kill them on the battlefield."

Toshi, a chuunin in his early thirties, had been extremely lucky to not have been drafted into the frontlines. Instead he was a village guard who would teach genin on the occasion. He had been contracted by his village to take out a bandit camp that had been terrorizing local towns. "To think I had dreams once of being the Tsuchikage!" Toshi let a light chuckle escape from his lips. "I'm perfectly fine being average if that keeps me away from the frontlines." When Minato Namikaze slaughtered thousands of his stone brethren, All he felt was relief. relief that it wasn't him. Yes toshi Fugato a spineless coward in every sense but he didn't care. After all his personal catchphrase was "better them than me."

Finally the devices bagan to ring in his ear signaling the that the explosives had been set.

"Let the slaughter commence." "All teams move out now terminate with extreme prejudice"

Though the comms he heard a resounding "YES SIR." and all hell broke loose.

Even as weak as Toshi was mere bandits were like ants to him. He jumped over the wall and ran to the nearest cover easily evading the bandits eyes. "And 3...2...1" Booom! From near one of the walls on the other side of the bandit camp an explosion went off sending a few bandits flying, their body's being torn apart by the force of the explosion. With the bandits hurrying to mobilize and arm themselves Toshi and his team went to work. Drawing his tanto Toshi charged his way through the camp heading straight to the head bandit's tent. "Any second now." Suddenly much to the bandits horror, four walls of stone rose from the ground, ceiling the bandits into three kill-boxes. "Poor bastards," Toshi thought to himself As he knew his genin had quickly scaled the walls and started to rain a hail of kunai and shuriken onto the bandits.

The Head-bandit emerging from his tent with a face mixed with fear and anger and confusion, drew his sword and spotted Toshi who was quickly moving towards him. "You'll pay for this shinobi!" He yelled as he swung his sword down at Toshi who quickly rotated right, dodging the swing and in return swung his tanto at the man"s neck easily decapitating him.

"The battle" if you could call it that, had been over before it began. Shinobi being practically superhumans, had no business fighting bandits. "Hell these genin could have easily slaughtered the whole camp by themselves." Toshi thought to himself. Nevertheless It was time to clean his blade and collect his damn pay.

Toshi, accessing his radio called out to his genin to finish up and head back the village. "Misa, Toru, Hamura, Hurry up retrieving your weapons, we can clean them later."

There was no time for the reality of the children's first kills to hit them. He didn't need these children getting PTSD before they stepped foot on a real battlefield. That wouldn't do anyone but the enemy good.

A few minutes later

As the team made it's way back to the village the genin were not their usual selves each one remaining very quiet. "No doubt they're running through the usual thoughts which come after the first kill. Oh God I just ended their lives, could I have done it without the death? Am I a monster?" After a while Toshi decided to do his best to comfort the children. "Listen you three, I'll only say this once. There was no other way around it, those men were scumbags who pillaged innocent towns and killed anyone in their way."

"But sensei we-"

"No." Came a quick rebuttal. Finally After a long, awkward silence Toshi let out a long sigh. "You looked into his eyes didn't you Toru." Toshi already knew the answer.

"Hai sensei."

The poor kid had committed one of the grave errors of the shinobi guide to stay sane.

1. Never relish the kill unless they have done something to earn it.

2. Keep your emotions away from the mission.

3. Always have something to keep you grounded, whether it be a pet, friend, family or lover.

4. Never. Ever. Under an circumstance look at an enemy's eyes as you kill them.

"I'll buy you kids some mochi when we get back okay?" At that the children perked up slightly almost forgetting for a few seconds the massacre that they had just committed, when suddenly he sensed something in the distance. Quickly putting up a fist to tell his squad to stop, Toshi quickly got to the top of a nearby rock formation to look for this unidentified chakra flare. "Could it be an enemy attack?" Even with Iwa being as weak as they currently were it would still be foolish to sneak this close to the village. Unless Konoha was ballsy enough to throw half their elite shinobi at them, but he doubted that. No, the chakra was more akin to a genin or chuunin. Scanning once again he waited for a few seconds. Then he felt it once again, even stronger this time. And in the direction of...

"Shit, the orphanage!" Toshi sped away towards one of the only places he actually cared about. As he had grown up there after his parents had been killed in the second ninja war. The old headmistress was the closest thing he had to a mother; And he liked messing with the children by running on the walls or ceiling. He had just been there the week prior. "Please Kami, God, ancestors whatever being is up there keep them safe."

As he got closer to the orphanage a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach began to grow. Flying through the small town at speeds the average chuunin would envy, He came upon the the only place that had any sort of sentimental value to him. Upon reaching his destination his stomach dropped. "How did this happen. Who would do this?" Inspecting more he found no sign of an enemy attack or terrorism, "so who?" A few minutes later his genin caught up to him looking rather gassed, however all of them understanding the situation stayed quiet.

After a few minutes of searching through the rubble Toshi sensed a very dim chakra signal. "Over here you three and help me move this rubble out out of the way!" Toshi ordered.

Rushing over and removing wood and brick for what felt like an eternity, Toshi was able to remove a small child from the rubble.

"Back away while I check his vitals." thoroughly Inspecting the boy, He was not in the best shape. The boy was dangerously low on chakra, had 2nd and 3rd degree burns all across his back and probably a few broken bones. Overall it was a miracle he was still alive because the boy couldn't be any older than 6. Toshi needed to get this kid to the hospital. Fast.

"We're leaving to the village now." He could see the genin were in agreement. "Just hold on kid. Hold on." right before the team embarked Misa reached down and picked up something off the ground. "Misa! Get your ass over here we're leaving now."

"Yes sensei!" and they sped off towards the village, hopefully fast enough to save this kid's life.
