I don't own Disney's The Owl House. I do, however own the Main OC. Hope you all enjoy my story on this lovely show.

Chapter Three

After having going through the door of the old decrepit house, Danielle felt some weird substance encase her. Struggling against whatever the weird substance was, Danielle tumbles out of the door, not knowing it had set off a spark within her. Shaking the feeling off, Danielle stares around and notices she's in a tent instead of the old decrepit house.

"Gosh, it felt like wading through molasses going through the door. Where am I?" said Danielle, before looking down and seeing a weird toy cling to her before kicking it away with a squeak in her voice. "Eep. The supernatural is creepy."

"Finally, you're back," said a Middle-aged Lady, outside the tent and gaining Danielle's attention.

"Hmm…" said Danielle, walking over and holding back the flap to the tent. "Where in blazes am I?"

"Now let's see what we've got here," said the Middle-aged Lady, screwing the little owl on the end of a staff.

"The owl…" thought Danielle, staring as the little owl went wooden. "Wasn't real? It's magical wood?!"

"Garbage. Garbage. Garbage," said the Middle-aged Lady, ruffling through the bag and tossing stuff aside before settling on an item. "Now, this... This will make me rich."

"It will not," thought Danielle, groaning while seeing the Middle-aged Lady wearing joke glasses with the eyes popping out before seeing her necklace in the Middle-aged Lady's hand. "My necklace."

"And this... Oh, this will sell nicely once melted," said the Middle-aged Lady, holding Danielle's necklace over a lit candle, only for it to sparkle instead of burn, confusing her. "What the…"

"Noooooo!" shouted Danielle, jumping out of the tent and grabbing her necklace before looking at the Middle-aged Lady. "Please don't burn my necklace, it's the only thing left I have of my mom."

"Alright alright, I won't," said the Middle-aged Lady, calming Danielle down. "Don't want to lose a customer here."

"Customer?" said Danielle, putting her necklace back on while looking at the Middle-aged Lady. "What do you sell?"

"Can I offer you a human foot filled with holes?" asked the Middle-aged Lady, holding up a single green croc.

"It's a shoe and one of the worse designs out there," replied Danielle, before thinking. "Wait… did she just call it a human foot?"

"Okay then," said the Middle-aged Lady, grabbing a stick of deodorant. "A bar of green human candy?"

"Not candy, it's men's deodorant," said Danielle, grabbing the men's deodorant. "Correction: antiperspirant, helps deal with body odor."

"Yoink," said a Centaur, grabbing the antiperspirant and dropping some money on the table. "Thank you."

"Well, that worked…" said the Middle-aged Lady, before grabbing a portable television set. "Oh, oh! How about this black shadow box that reflects only sadness?"

"Not a shadow box," replied Danielle, making the Middle-aged Lady groan. "It's a portable television, a telecommunication medium for transmitting moving images and sound."

"You're killing me here kid," said the Middle-aged Lady, rubbing the bridge of her nose.

"Looks like an older model," said Danielle, turning the television upside down and seeing a battery compartment before grabbing two batteries nearby. "There we go."

After placing the batteries, Danielle had turned on the television. An old jazzercise program appeared on screen. Various demons hear the program and walk over with money in their hands. Danielle backs up in slight fear, seeing so many demons before her. Various bids were being placed for the television.

"Oh my gosh," thought Danielle, slightly scared. "What scary place did I come to?"

"Can I eat the tiny person inside?" asked one of the Demons, staring at the man on the television.

"Uh…" replied Danielle, not knowing how to respond back.

"What did you say your name was?" asked the Middle-aged Lady, staring at Danielle with a grin.

"I never mentioned it," said Danielle, staring at the Middle-aged Lady and curling her hands together. "I'm Danielle Hopkins, nice to mee'cha."

"Well, Danielle, that was pretty clever...," said the Middle-aged Lady, grabbing money. "For a human."

"That's weird for another human to say," said Danielle, quirking her eyebrow while staring at the Middle-aged Lady.

"Oh, dear child, I'm not like you," said the Middle-aged Lady, taking off her bandana and climbing onto the table. "I'm Eda the Owl Lady, the most powerful witch on the Boiling Isles!"

"A witch?" said Danielle, before thinking. "Dad can't find out about this place. I'll lose him here even more than before."

"I am a respected, feared…" said Eda, emphasizing herself.

"Busted!" said a Guard, busting the television.

"Run! It's a guard!" said the crowd of Demons, running away from the stand screaming.

"Eda the Owl Lady, you are wanted for misuse of magic and demonic misdemeanors," said the Guard, holding up a wanted poster.

"Criminal?" said Danielle, staring at the Guard than Eda.

"You are hereby ordered to come with me to the Conformatorium," said the Guard, grabbing Eda's arms.

"Would you guys quit following me around?" said Eda, freeing her arm. "I haven't done squat."

"If she hasn't done squat than she shouldn't be arrested," said Danielle, getting her hair ruffled by Eda.

"See," said Eda, staring at the Guard.

"You're coming too, for fraternizing with a criminal," said the Guard, grabbing Danielle by her hood before being kicked in the stomach. "Oomph!"

"One: I was not fraternizing. I was just talking with her," said Danielle, hands on her hips. "Two: I didn't know she was a criminal and she doesn't really look like one to me yet."

"Hey," said Eda, eyeing Danielle.

"And three: Don't grab me like that," said Danielle, crossing her arms over her chest. "I don't like it."

"Not bad kid. Here, let me get my stuff," said Eda, magically wrapping everything on the stand into a tablecloth. "Whoops. Can't forget this."

"A key?" said Danielle, seeing Eda take a key out of her hair before pressing it, summoning the door which folded up into a briefcase.

"Follow me, human," said Eda, running away while using her staff to carry the bundle of stuff.

"Wait up. I don't exactly know where I am," said Danielle, running alongside Eda. "Plus, I don't want to be put in prison before I even…"

"Ha! I won't let 'em hurt you," said Eda, before staring at Danielle. "A human like you is much more valuable to me alive than dead."

"Wait, what?" said Danielle, staring at Eda.

"Whoo-hoo!" shouted Eda, linking arms with Danielle before pulling her in while jumping on her staff and flying away.

"Oh my goodness!" screamed Danielle, clinging to the staff before looking back at the Guard. "Try to catch us now, sucka!"

"You won't get away with this, Owl Lady!" shouted the Guard, before looking at his hands. "Yeah, all right. You did. You got away with it. She got away with it, everybody! Typical."

"Hahaha, funny," said Eda, ruffling Danielle's hair. "You're one interesting human."

"Thanks, I guess," said Danielle, before looking at the land below and getting excited. "Oh my gosh, I'm flying… I'm flying! I never felt so free! Whoa!"

"Easy there," said Eda, preventing Danielle from falling off her staff.

"Demons everywhere… you're a witch," said Danielle, staring back at Eda. "What is this wonderous yet creepy place?"

"This is the Boiling Isles," replied Eda, gesturing to the land around them. "Every myth you humans have is caused by a little of our world leaking into yours."

"I wonder how accurate some of our myths, legends and lore are," said Danielle, pondering on the thought before a large griffin flew by spewing spiders. "I could have gone without knowing that about griffins."

"Yep. Griffins, vampires, giraffes..." said Eda, listing a few of the myths.

"Giraffes…" said Danielle, looking at Eda. "Really?"

"Oh, yeah. We banished those guys," said Eda, landing the staff and hopping off. "Bunch of freaks."

"Um, Miss Eda…" said Danielle, cringing while seeing one of Eda's hands still attached to the staff. "I think you left something behind."

"Oops," said Eda, grabbing her hand and screwing it back on. "That happens sometimes."

"Look I'm glad you helped me back there but I should really get back to my world," said Danielle, gripping the strap of her messenger bag. "Can you send me back home?"

"Only if you help me first," said Eda, chuckling while magically lifting the bundle. "Ah, now, come along, human."

"I wonder…" thought Danielle, following after Eda. "Could mom be here? Dad did start researching demons and witches after mom left. There's got to be a connection."

"You're awfully quiet," said Eda, looking back at Danielle.

"Just thinking is all," said Danielle, before seeing a three-story house in front of her. "Those guards won't find us here, will they?"

"Nope," replied Eda, looking at Danielle. "My house has a state-of-the-art defense system."

"Hoot-hoot! Password, please!" said the Owl Face on the Front Door, before Eda poked his eyes. "Aah!"

"We got no time for this, Hooty," said Eda, staring at Hooty. "Let us in."

"All right, all right! Geez! You never want to have any fun! Ow! Hoot!" said Hooty, opening his beak wide, covering the whole front door.

"Fair warning: you try and eat me," said Danielle, walking into the house. "And I will find a way that will leave you having the worst case of constipation and heartburn for the remainder of your life."

"Yes ma'am," said Hooty, scared for his life.

"You must be a riot at parties," said Eda, looking at Danielle before snapping her fingers. "Welcome to… the Owl House."

"Love the cozy feel of the place," said Danielle, staring around the living room while Eda magicked certain things to life. "Love the ceiling art."

"Where I hide away from the pressures of modern life. Also the cops. Mm, also ex-boyfriends," said Eda, chuckling.

"You have a really beautiful house," said Danielle, looking at Eda. "Do you live here all by yourself?"

"Actually, I have a roommate," replied Eda, hearing thudding footsteps that was shaking the house slightly.

"Is this your current boyfriend?" asked Danielle, dodging a little debris.

"No," replied Eda, disgusted by the notion.

"Who dares intrude upon I," said the Person, their voice deep before changing to normal, rounding the corner after a fresh shower and squeaking a rubber ducky. "The King of Demons?"

"Aaaw, Titan baby… King!"

"Aaaw, Titan baby," squealed Danielle, picking the little demon up and cuddling him. "You are the cutest thing I've seen here so far."

"What? I am not a Titan! I am the King of Demons!" shouted King, pushing Danielle's head away. "Eda, who is this monster?"

"King likes cheesy foods."

"Watch it! I am no monster," said Danielle, glaring at King before taking a bag of snacks out of her messenger bag. "Here, some cheese curls."

"Oooo," said King, grabbing the bag of cheese curls. "I accept your offering."

"The voice in my head is a lot louder than earlier," thought Danielle, shifting King better in her arms. "But it still seems far away. How does it know what I see before me?"

"You wrangled King in pretty easily," said Eda, staring at Danielle while King munches away on the cheese curls. "This is Danielle, the human. She's here to help us with our little... situation."

"Oh! Hooray!" said King, popping another cheese curl in his mouth. "Mmm, cheesy goodness."

"What's interesting is that you know about Titans," said Eda, eyeing Danielle. "And I don't remember any mention of Titans in the Human Realm."

"A tiny voice in the back of my head mentioned it just now," said Danielle, looking at Eda. "You think I'm crazy, don'cha?"

"Nope," replied Eda, staring at Danielle. "Maybe coming through the portal door did a little something to you."

"Well anyway, what is this situation you're talking about?" asked Danielle, staring at Eda. "How will I be able to help?"

"Let me explain," said Eda, drawing a spell circle that effectively turns into a storybook. "King was once a mighty king of demons, until his Crown of Power was stolen, and he became... this."

"Not true, just a story that Eda made up that King started to believe in."

"Are-are you sure?" asked Danielle, staring at Eda. "Something is telling me that's not quite right."

"Oh, I am the King of Demons," said King, staring up at Danielle. "Eda told me so years ago."

"This human child…" thought Eda, before going back to telling the story. "The crown is being held by the evil Warden Wrath and locked away behind a magical force field that only a human can break through."

"There's the kick," said Danielle, realizing where her part in the situation was.

"A human like you. If you help us retrieve his crown, we'll send you back to your realm. So whaddya say? Plus," said Eda, picking King up by his face and shaking him gently. "Who could say no to this cute face?"

"No! Please don't encourage her!" said King, before Danielle brought out another bag of cheese curls. "Never mind. She can help!"

"I mean, we're kinda your only way home," said Eda, dropping King as he grabs the bag of cheese curls.

"If this will get me back to my world," said Danielle, taking a deep breath. "Then so be it. I'll help."

"Yes!" said Eda, picking Danielle up and tossing her over her shoulder. "Now, we've got no time to lose."

"Hey, I got feet, you know," said Danielle, struggling in Eda's grasp as she walks to the front door. "Put me down."

"Soon, Mr. Ducky, we shall drink the fear of those who mocked us," said King, picking up his rubber ducky, earning a giggle from Danielle as he follows them out the front door.

"Do you even know where they took King's crown?" asked Danielle, staring at Eda.

"Somewhere super fun," replied Eda, situating Danielle and King on her staff before flying off.

Flying towards their destination, day has turned to night. Gray clouds covered the sky. Thunder boomed and lightning clapped as they neared their destination. Flying on down, Danielle hops off as King climbs onto her shoulder. Eda stares up at the large building before them as she dismounts her staff. Hiding behind a nearby wall, Danielle peeks around the corner, staring at the building with unease.

"Okay," said Danielle, shuddering as she looks away. "This place spells creepy."

"The Conformatorium, a place for those considered unsuitable for society," said Eda, looking up at the building.

"Already hate it," said Danielle, before grabbing a wanted poster of Eda off the wall. "These guys are really gunning for you. "

"Yep," said Eda, winking at Danielle. "But we were never caught because we're too slippery."

"Try to catch me when I'm covered in grease. I'm a squirmy little fella. Aah!" said King, before falling off of Danielle's head. "You and I will sneak up to the top of the tower, where they're holding my crown."

"And I'm gonna make sure the warden's distracted," said Eda, gesturing to herself.

"What spell do you have planned to get me and King up there?" asked Danielle, staring at Eda.

"This," replied Eda, tapping the butt of her staff to the ground and creating a round glowing platform. "Hang on tight."

"Whoa," said Danielle, the platform rising with her and King. "King, get in my hood and hold on tight."

"What for?" asked King, staring at Danielle.

"Trust me," said Danielle, feeling King settled in her hood while waiting for the right moment when the platform lined up with the window and jumping through, then landing in a crouching position.

"Wow, not bad," said King, jumping out of Danielle's hood. "Let's go."

"King, wait up," said Danielle, pulling up her hood revealing wolf ears attached before following after King as he walks down the corridor near some cells.

"Hey, wolf lady," said a Female Inmate, gaining Danielle's attention. "How'd you get out of your cell?"

"Not a wolf," replied Danielle, lowering her hood. "See. Nor am I a criminal."

"Not yet, you're not," said King, staring up at Danielle.

"Not a criminal," said Danielle, glaring at King. "And never will be."

"Neither are we. The stupid warden likes to lock people up who don't fit in. Like, I write fanfics of food falling in love," said the Female Inmate, pulling out a book of said fanfiction. "I like food, I like love... Just let me write about it."

"That's… uh…" said Danielle, looking at the illustrations. "Unique."

"I'm here because I like eating my own eyes," said a Male Inmate, eating one of his eyes before it popped back up into its socket.

"I didn't just see that," said Danielle, looking away while covering her eyes.

"We are agents of fwee expwession!" said a Smaller Female Inmate, being a little loud. "They will never siwence us!"

"Yeah, she's really big into conspiracy theories," said the Female Inmate, pointing at the Smaller Female Inmate.

"The world is a simulation!" said the Smaller Female Inmate, gripping the bars of her cell. "We are but playthings for a higher being!"

"Collector… he needs to be saved…he doesn't deserve being sealed away..."

"These aren't crimes. Writing fanfiction is normal, conspiracy theories will always be around, and-and…" said Danielle, looking at the Male Inmate. "I really don't know how to help your cause."

"It's okay," said the Male Inmate, sighing.

"There's nothing wrong with being a little weird," said Danielle, before taking out Eda's wanted poster from her pocket and sighing. "Like my dad."

"It's Warden Wrath!" said the Female Inmate, everyone hearing thudding footsteps coming their way. "Hide!"

"Don't have to tell me twice," said Danielle, running into a cell with King and pulling the bars down before huddling in the corner with King.

"I can hear you," said Warden Wrath, opening a nearby door and stomping towards the cells.

"Aw shit," thought Danielle, seeing Warden Wrath in plain view in front of her. "He won't be easy to take down."

"Just what are you fools whispering about?" asked Warden Wrath, looking down and picking up Eda's wanted poster. "Ah. The Owl Lady."

"Crude," thought Danielle, watching Warden Wrath crumble the wanted poster. "How could I drop the poster? I wanted to keep it."

"I'll get my hands on her soon enough," said Warden Wrath, morphing his hand into a hammer and slamming it into the cell door.

"Fight against the oppwessor! We will wesist! We will conquer! We will never be afwaid of you, you old cweep!" shouted the Smaller Female Inmate, staring as Warden Wrath opens her cell. "Hooway! I'm fwee!"

"This plan has gotten dangerous," thought Danielle, scared as Warden Wrath grabs the Smaller Female Inmate and squeezes her. "Lord, if you can hear me, help."

"Let this be a lesson to all of you," said Warden Wrath, pointing at the inmates. "There's no place in society for you if you can't fit in."

"He's dangerous," said Danielle, opening the cell after Warden Wrath left. "What corrupt system allows this? Allows people like you to be arrested for just being themselves."

"Emperor Belos," replied the Female Inmate, staring at Danielle. "This is his law, saying it's the will of the Titan."

"It is not! He's a tyrant! And Papa Titan hates him!"

"Let me get you out of here," said Danielle, trying to lift the lever to no avail. "What… how? I've lifted heavy things before."

"Just get out of here while you still can, kid," said the Female Inmate, walking further into her cell. "Enjoy freedom for us."

"But…" said Danielle, before thinking. "If dad were to come here and start spewing stuff here and there, he'd be in the same situation as these people. How do I help these people?"

"Danielle," said King, poking Danielle's cheek. "You okay?"

"No King," replied Danielle, staring at the ground. "I'm not."

Walking away from the cells, Danielle and King walk down a few corridors in the prison. Deeply sighing, Danielle wonders where Eda is. King clings to Danielle's jacket as they keep walking down a corridor. Just then, Eda flies by and spots Danielle and King.

"Hey, I just checked," said Eda, hopping off her staff. "The warden is distracted, tormenting some tiny creature. He won't be coming around here anytime soon."

"Yeah, I kinda already know. I was there when he took her away," said Danielle, staring at Eda then seeing a towering door in front of them. "Think King's crown is in there? Cause I really want to leave this place.'

"My crown! It's close! I can sense its power!" said King, fiddling with the doorknob that was as big as he was.

"Aw, he gets so cute when he's thirsty for power," said Eda, staring at King.

"This isn't right. Those inmates just want to be themselves," said Danielle, holding her arms close to her. "What's wrong with being a little weird? It's a part of life."

"Come on, before he hurts himself," said Eda, seeing King get the door open as the doorknob rolls their way.

"Okay," said Danielle, following after Eda while thinking. "I should really go home and apologize to dad. Explain to him what's been on my mind for these last few years."

"Ow!" shouted King, being zapped by a barrier around the contraband.

"Here," said Danielle, picking King up and rubbing his head. "That better?"

"Yes," replied King, leaning into the touch.

"We have a human, remember?" said Eda, staring at King.

"Oh, yeah," said King, looking up at Danielle then the barrier.

"Alright then," said Danielle, putting King down and standing before the barrier.

Looking at the barrier, Danielle slowly passes through. Staring up at the towering pile of contraband, Danielle sees a crown at the top of the pile. Taking her time climbing, Danielle reaches the top and grabs the crown, seeing that it was a Burger Queen crown from her world. Sighing at the sight, Danielle slides down the towering pile, taking some stuff down with her and through the barrier. Wiping off her jacket, Danielle shows Eda and King the acquired crown.

"My crown!" said King, jumping in place while Danielle places it on his head. "Yes. Yes! I can feel my powers returning!"

"I feel like I've been duped," thought Danielle, standing up.

"You, there. Nightmare critter," said King, pointing at a stuffed rabbit toy and picking it up. "I shall call you Francois, and you shall be a minion in my army of darkness. Ha-ha!"

"That's not his real crown, is it?" asked Danielle, staring at Eda.

"Uh, no," said Eda, only for Danielle to stare at her sadly. "Oh, look at us, Danielle. King and I don't have much in this world. We only have each other. So if that dumb crown is important to him, it's important to me. And besides, us weirdos have to stick together, you know?"

"I'm not that much of a weirdo," said Danielle, tapping her foot on the ground before smiling. "But… I really like what you said right there."

"Aw, come on. I bet there's a little weirdo somewhere within you," said Eda, poking Danielle's chest. "Well, we owe you one. Now, let's get out of here before the warden finds us and loses his head."

"Too late," said Warden Wrath, appearing behind Eda and cutting her head off.

"Eda!" shouted Danielle, catching Eda's severed head, tears forming in the corners of her eyes. "I'm so sorry. I should have seen this coming."

"Ow!" shouted Eda, making Danielle scream. "Oh, I hate it when that happens."

"What the… How the… Feeling faint, no false alarm," said Danielle, recovering herself. "Eda, are you okay?"

"Yeah," replied Eda, staring at Danielle. "This just happens when you get older."

"No, no it doesn't. What magic is at play keeping you alive?" asked Danielle, looking at the severed neck area before turning green. "Uh, I shouldn't have looked."

"Finally," said Warden Wrath, transforming his hand back to normal and taking the crown off of King's head. "I have you cornered, Eda the Owl Lady."

"Weh?" said King, jumping to get his crown out of Warden's Wrath hand.

"My guards could never get you, but I knew if I took your pet's toy, you'd come running," said Warden Wrath, crumbling the crown.

"No! My power!" said King, backing up and slumping to the floor.

"King," said Danielle, concerned for King before seeing a crown in amongst the pile.

"What do you want with me? I've never actually broken any of your stupid laws..." said Eda, glaring at Warden Wrath. "In front of you."

"I want you..." said Warden Wrath, pulling out a bouquet of flowers. "To go out with me."

"Wha...?" said Eda, confused.

"Huh…?" said Danielle, staring at Warden Wrath.

"Go, boss!" said a Guard, cheering on Warden Wrath.

"You've always eluded our capture. You've always been the one who got away," said Warden Wrath, staring at Eda. "I found that alluring."

"You have a weird way of going about asking for a date," said Danielle, staring at Warden Wrath.

"You stay out of this!" shouted Warden Wrath, tossing the bouquet and shifting his hands into tentacles, grabbing Danielle.

"Let me go ya big brute," said Danielle, struggling against the writhing tentacles as a Guard picks up a struggling King.

"So how about it, Owl Lady?" said Warden Wrath, pulling Eda's head up by the hair. "The most powerful witch of the Boiling Isles and the feared Warden Wrath. We'd be the strongest power couple ever. I mean, it's-it's not like you can say no right now."

"Eda, don't! A guy like this…" said Danielle, only for a tentacle to wrap around her mouth.

"I said, stay out of this!" said Warden Wrath, only for Danielle to bite the tentacle. "Ow!"

"Aw gross," said Danielle, spitting. "When was the last time you washed your hands?"

"All right, Warden. You win. I'd just like to say something first. Come closer. No. Just come a little bit closer. Just... Yeah, that's good," said Eda, before blowing a raspberry in Warden Wrath's face.

"Yes," said Danielle, feeling Warden Wrath drop her and seeing Eda's staff and grabbing it and the nearby crown she'd seen. "Alright then, time for a little karma."

"Impudent wench!" said Warden Wrath, glaring at Eda. "Don't you know how many germs are in your mouth? Blegh!"

"Get over it. You had your guards stalk me, and then you cut off my head," said Eda, staring at Warden Wrath. "I am not going out with you."

"If you don't accept, then I have no choice but to des…" said Warden Wrath, only to be slammed on the head by Eda's staff courtesy of Danielle. "Oh!"

"Take a hint already, she doesn't like you," said Danielle, staring down at Warden Wrath before rubbing the top of the little owl's head. "Sorry about that buddy. That must not have felt good."

"Nice!" said Eda, chuckling before two guards approach from behind.

"Not so fast," said Danielle, striking the butt of the staff into one Guard then kicking the other Guard.

"Alright!" shouted King, before being scooped up by Danielle.

"Time to bounce," said Danielle, grabbing Eda's head and mounting the staff, the wings spreading wide. "Wait… how do I get this thing to work?"

"Gun it, magic stick!" said Eda, getting her staff to fly them out of the room.

"Eep!" said Danielle, gripping the staff tight.

"Owl Lady, I won't let you get away again!" said Warden Wrath, getting up and transforming his arms into tentacles before giving chase.

"Here King," said Danielle, giving King Eda's head. "Reattach Eda's head."

"On it," said King, reattaching Eda's head roughly.

"Ow!" said Eda, before glaring at King. "Gentle next time."

"Sorry," said King, before staring behind Eda for Warden Wrath.

"Hey, I know this corridor," said Danielle, recognizing the area. "Eda, lend me a hand!"

"What for?" asked Eda, staring at Eda.

"We're busting some inmates out," replied Danielle, seeing the inmates cells from before.

"Alright then," said Eda, cupping Danielle's hand before flipping the levers to the inmate cells.

"Go go!" shouted Danielle, staring back at the inmates. "Warden Wrath is not that far behind us."

"She just…" said the Female Inmate, staring at Danielle.

"She did," said the Shorter Female Inmate, running out of her cell.

"Let's go," said the Male Inmate, gesturing to a nearby door.

Busting through an outer door, high in the center of the Conformatorium, Danielle lets out a yell as they plummet towards to ground level. Warden Wrath exits not long later, front flipping off the pillar then striking Eda's staff. Eda, Danielle, and King are launched off and hit the ground.

"That could have gone better," said Danielle, pulling herself up. "Ow."

"Ow, my bones!" said King, laying flat on his stomach.

"Danielle…" said Eda, taking the key out of her hair and handing it to Danielle. "Go back to the human world."

"Huh… but…" said Danielle, seeing Eda run towards Warden Wrath. "What about you two?"

"If you think this guy is bad, you shoulda seen her last boyfriend!" said King, getting up and running to join Eda.

"Not my boyfriend," said Eda, grabbing King and jumping back towards Danielle.

"But…" said Danielle, staring at Eda. "I can still help."

"No, you can't," said Eda, putting Danielle on the staff and slapping the bottom. "Go! Go!"

"Wait! No!" said Danielle, as the staff flies high. "Eda! King!"

Warden Wrath takes off his mask and starts spewing fire. Eda expertly draws two spell circles, one that catches the fire and one that launches it right back. Wrath slams into the wall of the Conformatorium. Warden Wrath stands up not much later, brandishing his blade-hands and rushes towards Eda. Staring around, Danielle spots the three inmates from earlier peeking out from a hole in the wall. Flying down, Danielle confronts the inmates.

"Why aren't you running?" asked Danielle, staring at the three inmates. "Here's your freedom."

"The warden'll catch us," said the Male Inmate, looking to the side. "He always does."

"We belong here," said the Female Inmate, staring at Danielle.

"No, you don't," said Danielle, staring at the inmates.

"Self-doubt is a pwison you can never escape fwom," said the Smaller Female Inmate, looking at the ground.

"Repeat what I'm about to say."

"So, you have a different way of doing things, a different way of seeing things," said Danielle, stepping forward as the voice tells her the words. "That might make you weird, but it also makes you awesome. Don't you see?"

"Why are you helping us?" asked the Female Inmate, staring at Danielle.

"Because you remind me of my dad!" said Danielle, before looking sad. "I may have said something hurtful to him when I ran away. But I actually love my dad the way he is."

"Kid," said the Female Inmate, stepping forward.

"I shouldn't have said those words to him," said Danielle, wiping away a tear. "But enough about that. Let's all be weirdoes and stick together. Nobody should be punished for who they are."

Mounting Eda's staff, Danielle gears the inmates towards the battlefield. Eda had just recently been thrown to the ground and King tossed into her arms. Brandishing his axe-arms, Warden Wrath looms over a glaring Eda and King.

"No more running away, Owl Lady. Today I capture you once and for all!" said Warden Wrath, raising his axe-arms before being slammed to the slam by the inmates. "What the!"

"Danielle?" said Eda, seeing Danielle land near her and King.

"Want to make a bang?" asked Danielle, taking a firecracker out of her messenger bag. "I was saving this to celebrate the end of the school year with my dad but I think I found a better use right now."

"I think I'm going to like this," said Eda, a glint in her eyes.

"Oooo!" said King, staring at the firecracker.

"And that's our cue," said Danielle, seeing the inmates pin Warden Wrath. "Let's kick this into his stinkin' mouth."

"You!" shouted Warden Wrath, glaring at Danielle. "Who do you think you are?"

"Not someone you need to know," said Danielle, her and Eda kicking the firecracker into Warden Wrath's flaming mouth. "Get away! He's about to blow!"

The inmates back away from Warden Wrath. The firecracker goes off, sending fireworks everywhere. The inmates are cheering as Warden Wrath runs back to the inside of the Conformatorium. Danielle sighs as Eda carrying King, puts a hand on her shoulder.

"That was actually one of her better breakups," said King, staring at Danielle.

"Can't breakup if they never dated," said Danielle, scratching underneath King's chin.

"Agreed," said Eda, staring at Danielle. "Anyway, let's bounce before any more monsters fall in love with me."

"Yeah, you can do better than him," said Danielle, mounting the staff with Eda and King before flying away.

"Raine."

"Doesn't look like it's gonna rain," said Danielle, looking at the sky.

"Oh gosh," thought Eda, staring at Danielle. "Did that voice in her head mention Raine?"

Coming in view of the Owl House, Eda lands as Danielle hops off with King in her arms. Opening the front door and entering the living room, Eda leans her staff against the couch as she looks at Danielle.

"Well, a deal's a deal. Let's get you home," said Eda, snapping her fingers.

"Before I go…" said Danielle, seeing the door that brought her here open before grabbing something out of her bag. "It may not be the one you originally had but what is a king without his crown."

"This shall suffice," said King, putting on the crown before pointing at a nearby plant. "You there, plant! You are now under my command."

"You know, I actually had fun today even if I was scared," said Danielle, staring at the door that would take her home. "I want to stay here."

"What about your dad?" asked Eda, staring at Danielle as she turned around. "I overhead you talking with those inmates and wanting to apologize for something."

"I ran away from home hoping I could find my mom," said Danielle, staring at Eda. "Dad started getting into witches and demons when she left and I feel there is a connection somewhere now that I know this realm exists."

"I'm listening," said Eda, crossing her arms over her chest.

"I-I-I feel like she may have found her way here or someone from here took her," said Danielle, looking at Eda with a determined look. "I want to find her and bring her back home so we can be a family again."

"Kid…" said Eda, staring at Danielle concerned. "I don't know…"

"I may not want to be a witch but I would love to learn magic and utilize different spells if it means I have to safe my mom," said Danielle, staring at Eda.

"All right, that's crazy," said Eda, looking at Danielle. "Humans can't do magic… well, at least real magic."

"Maybe that's because we haven't tried," said Danielle, looking at Eda. "I'll do anything you want within reason. Nothing sexual."

"Let her stay!" said King, pulling on Eda's dress before whispering. "She can make us snacks."

"Well, I could use a hand keeping this goofball out of the cupboards," said Eda, smiling while picking King up. "All right. I'll teach you. But you have to work for me before you learn any spells. Deal?"

"Deal," said Danielle, pulling Eda and King into a hug.

"Gah! What's going on?" asked Eda, before Danielle let her go. "Alright, follow me."

After giving a brief tour of the Owl House, Eda guided Danielle to a storage room before heading to bed on the third floor. Opening the door, Danielle drops her bags and unfurls a futon out of the second bag including a pillow and a blanket. Changing into a set of pajamas, Danielle lays on the futon, gently rubbing her necklace as she takes out a photo frame depicting her dad, mom and herself from six years ago. Hearing King clear his throat, Danielle looks his way.

"Your mattress looks fluffy," said King, holding Francois in his paws.

"Come on," said Danielle, patting her futon while watching King curl up at the foot of the futon with his toy. "Good night, sweet dreams King."

"Good night," said King, drifting off to sleep.

"Don't worry mom," thought Danielle, staring up at the ceiling while holding her necklace. "I will find you and we'll be a family again, I promise."

Note: Danielle's pajamas are the same as Luz's in this episode except for the shorts being blue with the rest yellow and she is barefooted plus her shirt is white.

Note: Danielle's futon is basically a pink version from my first story A Light to Guide while the pillow and blanket are purple

Note: the crown Danielle found in the pile is basically the Azura one Luz had
