A Ranger Case

"Grrrah! You have interfered with my plans for the last time, White Ranger! The Cyber Network cries out for your demise!" A robotic voice said.

We see two silhouettes standing in a city street, one was robotic and the other was a white and gold covered warrior wielding a sword.

"The Cyber Network? No it's you who should be awaiting defeat….For it will be the last you will ever see!" The white clad warrior said and does some action poses then adds "This is the end, Evox!"

The two warriors clash the White Ranger using his sword while Evox his robotic claws, but then the ranger was disarmed.

"The Warriors weapons gleam and strike in the city streets!" The narration said "One has fallen…but who? Only the quiet city and network knows! Don't miss next week's exciting episode: 'The Psycho Messenger Returns!'"

October 14, 5:31 PM, J & Co. Law Offices

We come to the office where we find out the earlier scene was an episode on a TV show and Jaden was happily watching while while sweeping, J was sitting at her desk.

"Whoa that rocked!" Jaden said smiling and then started to recite the scene a "'This is the end, Evox!' He waves the broom around

"Whoa!" J said dodging a swing "Stop waving that broom around!"

"Oh, J! I didn't know you were here!" Jaden said smiling.

"Of course, I'm here!" J said annoyed "What was that weird show you were watching?"

"What?!" Jaden said in shock "J, you mean, you don't know the White Ranger?!" He then shows a poster of the White Ranger with a city in the background and explained "He's only the most popular TV hero for young people!"

"Young…? Like, how young?" J said through she remember a show she and Joey watched known as the Triple Toa Ranger Force and it seems this was similar. In fact the keyrings they add were for that show.

"Umm… 10 years old?" Jaden said thinking.

"Then what the heck are YOU doing getting all excited?!" J asked shocked.

"Hey! I'm only 17!" Jaden told her. He then grins saying "That's seven-'teen.' See? I'm a teen! Not like you, J."

"Hey! Don't talk to me like I'm your grandmother or something." J said glaring "I'm only 24 myself."

"Then watch it with me!" Jaden said with a smile "He's really cool! And… it's really popular! When they asked grade school kids what they wanted to be, 'White Ranger' was no. 1!"

"I really worry about kids these days." J said sighing. Sure she like pretending to be a Toa Ranger, mainly the Black-Silver ranger she didn't want to be one when she grew up.

"Grandma!" Jaden said chuckling and looks at the TV. "Well, the White Ranger's over. I guess it's time to close up the office."

"I guess…" J said and shakes her head "Through I wish we had some clients!"

We enter J's mental world as she writes down what she says as she explains "A month has passed since my trial. Terra's murder was the talk of the town for some time…But no one paid any attention to the J & Co. Law offices…How am I going to pay the rent this month?"

"It'll be okay." Jaden said smiling as we go back to reality "I'm sure some big client is just around the corner!"

"Hmph." J said to that as they move to close up.

October 16, 8:14 AM, Serial Designation J's Bedroom

J was asleep in her bed charging but then her phone rings reactivating her. She groans sitting up and answers the phone. She said "H-hello? This is J."

"J!" Jaden said on the other side worried.

"Jaden? What? It's still early…" J said checking her internal clock.

"I-it's the White Ranger!" Jaden said panicked "The White Ranger got arrested!"

"Huh? You mean the guy on that show?" J asked confused.

"Yes!" Jaden said. "They're saying that the White Ranger killed a villain!"

J looked deadpanned and tired confused "Um…Isn't that what he's supposed to do?"

"Yeah, on TV!" Jaden said in response.

"Yeah, on TV." J said with a nod.

"No! I mean, he actually did it! In real life!" Jaden told her. "He stabbed a villain with his Saba Sword!"

"I'll be honest, I have zero idea what you're talking about." J said with a sigh.

"Just come to the office, quick! Please, J!" Jaden told her and hangs up.

J sighs and gets out of bed and gets her usual outfit on and heads for the office.

October 16, 9:22 AM, J & Co. Law Offices

J walks into his offices and looks to see Jaden on the couch 'Jaden's here… watching television.' She goes to look and see it was on the news.

"Kent Brockman here for the morning news." The News reader said "Our top story, the actor Johnny Bravo was arrested yesterday. Bravo plays the lead role in the popular kid's show 'The White Ranger: Warrior of Network Kingdom.'"

"He was arrested on suspicion of murder." Kent continued to read the news "The victim was Malty S Melromarc, who plays the villain known as 'Evox.' Her body was found still inside the Evox costume. The 'Saba Sword' was also found stuck through the body. Police believe this was the murder weapon and are investigating further."

Jaden looks down sad as he watched the news. J seeing this said "This has to be a joke."

"No, no, no! It's nightmare!" Jaden said saddened "The White Ranger is over! The world is over!" Just then Jaden's phone rings and he answers "Yes… J & Co. Law Offices." He listens in then his eyes widen "What?! J! I-it's the White Ranger!"

"W-what?!" J said in shock.

"Yes… yes, of course! We'll be right there!" Jaden said talking to the one on the other end of the phone. He then ends the call and said determined "Let's go, J!"

"Go? Go where?" J asked confused.

"They have the White Ranger down in detention!" Jaden explained.

"So what?!" J said still confused.

"So, I've decided this will be our first case!" Jaden told her. He then began pushing her to the exit.

"Hey! Okay, okay!" J said sighing and leaves to the Detention centre.

October 16, Detention Center, Visitor's Room

J and Jaden sit in the room waiting for the client and soon the man was brought in, a buff looking intimidating looking man with a yellow pomperdor, black shirt, shoes and shades and blue pants, he looked quite scary for a guy playing a hero.

Jaden looks at him wide eyed and J concerned said "What's wrong, Jaden? It's him! In the flesh!"

"Umm… Is that guy really him?" Jaden asked concerned.

"What do you mean 'that guy'? Of course, it's him!" J said confused "Johnny Bravo, our client! That's him."

"Uh, maybe I shouldn't be saying this…But he definitely did it. Murder. At least once. Maybe twice." Jaden said with a nod.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa! What are you saying?!" J said in shock.

"Umm…" Johnny said awkwardly.

"Y-yes?!" Jaden said nervous.

"Is something wrong…?" Johnny asked them.

"N-no! No!" Jaden said nervous still.

'This is getting off to a great start.' J thinks eye rolling.

"I know, I know. You're disappointed, aren't you?" Johnny said sadly.

"D-disappointed?! Oh, no. Oh no." Jaden said still nervous.

"No, it's okay. This is the real me." Johnny said getting upset "When I got the part of the White Ranger, with that helmet…I decided I would never show my face in public until the job was over. It's the kids, you know. I didn't want to wreck their dreams."

"Oh…" Jaden said to that.

"I guess, unlike what my mama said, it didn't matter." Johnny said to that. "So much for dreams. I wonder that they think of the White Ranger now." He sniffs getting a white hanky out and cries.

"J!" Jaden said looking down sad and guilty.

"What?" J asked him.

"He's a good guy! I mean, he's good!" Jaden said to her.

"Yeah." J said in agreement

"He didn't do it!" Jaden said smiling.

J remains silent and decided to ask Johnny some questions asking, "Maybe you could start by telling us what happened."

"Y-yes. Of course." Johnny said nodding. "It seems like it was only yesterday. Actually, it was only yesterday. The cast had come down to Vox Studios for a run-through. We went through a few action sequences at 10:00 that morning."

"There was a rehearsal scheduled for 5:00 in the afternoon." Johnny continues. "But when 5:00 came around, and the staff gathered at the studio…Evox was found lying in a crumpled heap near the set."

We then see Johnny's flashback where we see Evox costume with a read haired woman lying on the groun a hole in her chest.

"They took off his mask…And discovered that it was Malty S Melromarc… dead!" Johnny continued to recount the events She had been expertly skewered with the Saba Sword."

"The 'Saba Sword'…?" J asked confused.

"Yes, it's a white sword with a tiger head hilt that I… that the White Ranger uses as a weapon." Johnny explained.

"Speaking of, maybe you could explain to me just what 'the White Ranger' is." J asked him.

"J! How could you say such a thing?" Jaden said in shock then looks to Johnny "I-I'm sorry, sir, I apologise for my partner! She's new to this, and a bit OUT OF TOUCH with the world."

"Hey! Who's 'new to this'?!" J said annoyed.

"No, it's alright, really." Johnny said rubbing his head and looks to J "The White Ranger is the lead character in a popular kid's show. He defends the streets of Network Kingdom…Fighting battle after battle against the evil robot overlord Evox and it's minions. Of course, he never really fully defeats Evox." He then looks embarrassed "Although…I guess he did defeat them or rather her this time…" He then cries again.

"I-I see." J said at that and thinks 'Network Kingdom….? Who comes up with these names?!' She then asks "Now, where were you on the day of the murder?"

"Well, that morning my mama dropped me off at the studios at 9:00." Johnny explained we see a flashback of him and Melty practicing while an old man in a security uniform watches, Johnny had fallen braking his practise sword "We worked through some action scenes until noon. Rehearsal was to begin at 5:00, but I was a little tired."

We then come to a dressing room as Johnny continues to explain "So, after lunch, I took a nap in my dressing room. When I woke up, it was after 5:00! I was late for the rehearsal!" We then see the scene of Malty's body being found "I hurried to the studio… and found everyone looking shocked. They arrested me on the spot, and brought me here."

'So, he was sleeping the entire afternoon of the murder?' J thinks shocked 'Some action hero!'

"What will the kids think? What will my mama think?" Johnny said sniffing upset.

"I think I should probably check out the scene of the murder…" J said thinking.

"Right… Vox Studios. I'll draw you a map." Johnny said with a nod.

"Wow! J! Let's go!" Jaden said excited

'I'm willing to bet 10 credits he asks for autographs.' J thinks smiling

Once they got the map J gets up and leaves with Jaden to Vox Studios.

Well this proves to be an intersting case but J is up for it to get to the truth of this TV studio murder.

Also yes I changed who Will Powers is portrayed for, I think it fits better.
