Author's Note/Update:
Honestly, I used to see Author notes on some of the stories I would read before I started writing and I never thought I'd be making one of these on my own stories. For a long time, I've debated whether or not to even provide my readers with any insight regarding the story and any progress I've made since the last update nearly three years ago. I'm not exactly sure if any of my readers on here keep up with my tumblr blog but I regularly post updates regarding all of my stories there and I've received numerous questions about I Like the Thrill for a while.
I know this might be very saddening to read but I've decided to not to continue writing this fanfic. I've really been trying to come back to it and I haven't been able to. There's quite a few reasons why that is but for the most part it simply comes down to me feeling as though I've written myself into a hole that I can't find a way out of. Frankly, I feel really, really sorry about having to do this but I honestly feel as if the narrative won't progress any further if I don't make what I feel are necessary changes. I created this story in 2018 and years later, I'm in a completely different headspace. Back then, I didn't feel like I was writing for myself and I wound up stifling myself creatively as a result and it took a while for me to come to terms with it.
As a writer, I'm constantly working to find ways to improve my work and as I re-read through it I'm constantly seeing new ways that the story can be enhanced. This story counts as my very first piece of fanfiction that I ever got the courage to write and for that it will forever hold a special place in my heart therefore it can't just be abandoned.
Once again, I have every intention of continuing to write and eventually finishing this story. Please note that this is not the end of the story as a whole but merely a discontinuation to this particular version. In fact, I am currently working on producing a newer, revamped version of the story with fresh concepts, better storytelling and engaging ideas that actually showcase the high expectations I had for the I Like the Thrill from the beginning. As of now, I don't have an exact timeframe of when the rewritten version will debut but I really want it released by or right after the New Year. The first chapter is basically already mapped out, it just needs to be written in full.
Lastly, before anyone asks, I absolutely will not delete this version from any of the sites I posted it on. (FF and AO3) Instead, I plan to leave it up for those who truly love the story and want to continuously read it to their heart's content. Thank you all for being patient and understanding. I hope I exceed everyone's expectations when the new variation comes out. Till next time!
