Zoe checked herself in the mirror. She had her blonde and pink highlighted hair in a French braid down her left shoulder today. She was wearing long pants and a tee shirt that exposed her right shoulder. The shirt also showed off her midriff and had a Kitty Section logo proudly displayed on her chest. Marinette was in her hotel's bathroom, getting ready. They were matching outfits again, though Marinette was exposing her left shoulder and draping her braid over her right. She couldn't help but sigh in delight at her designer girlfriend's desire to make them match. She loved that girl.

Marinette came out and Zoe couldn't deny this look suited her partner. Especially that French braid.

"Well, are you ready to go?" Marinette asked as Zoe stepped forward and caught her lips in her own. Zoe felt her girlfriend wrap her arms around her waist as she kissed her back. After several long moments, they ended their kiss but still remained embracing each other. "Do you want to stay in, instead? I don't mind, my love, but not sure our friends will forgive us."

Zoe nodded into her shoulder. "I do want to go, you just looked so good and I guess I'm not used to you being all mine yet. I just felt compelled to kiss you."

One of Marinette's hands came up to pet her hair. "You never have to explain yourself to me, Zo. You can kiss me whenever you like, as long as it's not a bad moment of course."

Zoe smiled and stepped away. "Come on. I think I want to take my girl out dancing today."

Marinette took her hand and squeezed it gently. "I would love to dance with you."

The two partners arrived right as the Liberty started to fill up with guests. The band all waved at them but they were far too busy to come over to talk. Kagami walked up to them, in her usual uniform.

"Interesting choice of outfits, Marinette. I will have to get your help dressing for the next event. I wish to look like a punk as well."

Zoe giggled and wrapped her arms around one of Marinette's. "We're pseudo punk at best, but I'm sure Marinette can do hot punk girl for you, if you want."

Marinette nodded. "I bet Adrien would trip over his tongue." The three girls laughed. A voice called out to them.

"Marinette, can you come here for a second? Rose's mask is too tight and we are afraid we will break it."

"Sorry girls, duty calls." Marinette said as she pressed a kiss to Zoe's cheek and hugged Kagami. She rushed off after Ivan.

Zoe watched her go with pride and just a little bit of loneliness. Kagami spoke up. "She still staying far too busy?"

Zoe shook her head. "I think I'm a bad influence. She is actually going to bed on time, to sleep beside me. I'm sure in a week or two though; I'm going to have to drag her to bed each night to make sure she doesn't do an all nighter."

Kagami smiled softly. "Yes, or perhaps she will continue to pick her partner first. You are good for Marinette, which I appreciate. She is like a sister to me, so please treat her right."

Zoe placed a hand on her heart. "I swear to you, I only have the best intentions with Marinette. She is the love of my life, and I hope to be with her for the rest of it."

Kagami nodded. "Very well. I will wait for my invite to the wedding someday, then. You know, we both got really lucky." She pointed to where Marinette was fixing Rose's mask. Adrien was next to her and doing something with his hands that made her partner laugh. "Can you see it too?"

"That they were clearly made for each other, and we got lucky Marinette likes girls? Yes, I see it too." Zoe says sadly. "She loves him, just not romantically. But if anything happened to him, I don't know if she would ever be happy again."

Kagami sighed. "He cried for two weeks when he learned Marinette didn't like men. He mourned any future they could have had together. I did not blame him. I waited patiently to see what it would mean for us. Well, I am not going to question the universe. We both have loving partners that are basically each other's sibling."

Zoe smiled. "Thank you for this talk, Kagami. It helped, it really did. I trust Mari, and I know Adrien is a good and loyal man. But they share a bond I can only guess at, and I didn't want to bring it up with her just yet."

Kagami patted her shoulder as Marinette started to return. "You'll understand soon. She's been planning to talk to you about it, since before you got together. I'm sure it will be soon."

"For Marinette, I'll wait the rest of my life if I have to." At that moment, the music started playing. "It was nice talking to you, Kagami. If you will excuse me, I'm gonna drag my girlfriend onto the dance floor."

"Marinette, dancing? I'll secure a perimeter to keep everyone else safe." Kagami joked. The very idea this serious warrior was able to joke so freely stumped Zoe.

She rushed up to Marinette, dragged her giggling partner onto the dance floor, and held her close as the music rose in volume. She would not ponder things that could have been, but embrace the lucky relationship she had in the now.

"I love you, Zo." The voice drifted to her over the music.

"I love you too, Mari." Things like that would help a lot as well. They danced the night away as Kitty Section played their latest songs. All was right in Paris.
