Hey everyone Toontastic here, and I know it has been a while since we typed the last chapter, we had to do a lot of packing, moving and into a new house and now I finally found some time to finish this chapter and post. So I hope you all enjoy this chapter, cause it was hard and fun to create at the same time.

Chapter 4 - The Kraken.
Late at night with a full moon in the sky by a lake, Ben was in his blue swimming trunks and ran up to the lake.
Ben: "Cannonball!" He yelled as jumped into the lake before resurfacing and spitting the water out.
Ben: "And he scores: Yes, a perfect 10, yeah! *Imitates crowd cheering* and the crowd loves him!"
We then see Iris, Sonic, Gwen and Sparky on the boardwalk as Iris was sitting on it, smiling and shook her head as Sonic giggled while Gwen sighed.
Gwen: "A perfect dweeb is more like it." She said to Ben.
Iris: "Hey, let him have fun, it's not like he's making fun of you right now." She informed.
Sonic: "She's got you there." He said in a cocky tone.
Ben: "Yeah, come on guys, dive in!" He encouraged.
Iris: "Sorry Ben, maybe next time I'll do it, why don't you give it a try Sonic." She asked the hedgehog.
Sonic showed a nervous expression as he looked at the lake and a few steps back.
Gwen, Ben, and Iris looked towards Sonic and started to show concern expressions.
Gwen: "Uh, Sonic, are you okay?" She asked.
Iris: "Yeah, what's wrong?"
Ben then raised an eyebrow as he put two and two together.
Ben: "Sonic, are you afraid of the water?" She asked
Sonic: "What, *scoffs* no I'm afraid of the water, I can't swim, I will sink like a rock, trust me, I tried to swim a bunch of times but the same thing keeps happening." He explained.
Iris: "Oh, I see." She said
Gwen: "Oh, okay and besides, who knows what nasty slimy things are slithering around in there, I rest my case." Gwen then shone her flashlight on Ben.
Sonic: "Hey, that was totally uncalled for Gwen." He said as he crossed his arms.
Ben: "What's the point of camping by a lake if you're afraid to get wet?" He asked as he splashed his friends.
Gwen: "Ahh, knock it off, midget!" She complained before walking away.
Ben: "Hey, what's happe-" He shouted as he started flailing in the water before he fell below the water as if drowning.
Iris: "Very funny, Ben, I'm not falling for it." She said, not convinced in the least bit, seeing as she hangs out with her friend every day and is used to his jokes and pranks.
Sonic: "This is probably a prank, isn't it?" He said as he raised an eyebrow, since he's been watching the kids for ten years, so he knows when Ben is messing around.
Gwen then walked back, a bit concerned as the two saw bubbles rising up out of the water with a look of concern.
Gwen: "Ben?" She called his name.
Then, a giant monster covered in seaweed rose up from out of the water with a growl as the girls screamed and hugged each other in fear but Sparky and Sonic got in front of girls, ready to take on the monster. But then, Gwen dropped her flashlight, the light shone on the monster's face, revealing that of Four Arms.
Iris: "Not cool, Ben, I'm still getting used to the pranks you can pull now that you have that watch!" She shouted.
Sonic: "Same here." He agreed as he crossed his arms as he glared at Ben.
Four Arms: "You should've seen the looks on your faces, Ah, priceless." He said as he pulled off some of the seaweed.
Gwen: "You are so busted when I tell Grandpa!" She shouted as she ran to the Rust Bucket, leaving an annoyed Sonic and an upset Iris behind with Ben.
Sparky just smiled at the joke Ben played on them while he watched them talk to each other.
Iris: "Very funny Ben." She glared at him.
Ben: "I just can't believe you three fell for it, a monster, in a lake." He said laughing a little.
Sonic thought about it for a moment and then laughed at falling for a prank like that.
Iris: "Okay, I'll admit it was funny, How stupid are we?" She asked Ben.
Then, without warning, the twins looked to see a green-scaled monster with two tendrils coming from its mouth and a long neck rise up from out of the lake, causing the three to scream.
Four Arms: "Apparently, not that stupid, Iris!" He answered.
The monster grabbed Four Arms with its tentacle and tossed him a few miles out further into the lake. Before he could get a chance to resurface and fight back, he was grabbed again.
Sonic: "Hang on, Ben!" He shouted as he ran back to the RV and ran back to the boardwalk at full speed, jumped off the boardwalk and kicked the monster in the face but the hit didn't even make the monster flinch because of the monster's hard scale body. The monster then grabbed him as well and dragged him under the water along with Ben. Iris decided to go in the water after them and try to help them.
Iris: "Sparky, you stay right here in case Gwen comes back outside." She said as she took a running start before running and diving into the lake, and swimming after Sonic and Ben.
After a few moments Iris finally caught up to the monster and swam to Four Arms and Sonic who were trying really hard to break free from the monster's tentacles. She then noticed the boys were losing their breaths, so she knew she had to act fast but then it occurred to her that she is underwater and doesn't think she can concentrate enough heat under water.
Iris placed her left hand under her chin to think of a plan.
Iris: "Come on, think Iris, think." She thought.
But then she remembered what Zuko did in season 1 episode 19, when he sneaked into the northern water tribe.
And that gave her an idea. She swimmed as fast as she could to her friends, she grabbed the tentacle that's wrapped around Sonic, she grabbed onto the tentacle and pulled with zero percent of her actual strength, what she was really doing was trying to concentrate heat to the palm of his hands. But luckily for them she knew how hot her palm had to be to make the monster let go of Sonic.
Iris: "Okay, my mom said all I have to do to produce heat is to just concentrate on something hot or something that makes me mad…... .like." But then she remembered a few things from the series Avatar and that one scene from the movie BH6.
And in a split second she produces extremely hot heat at the palm of her hands, causing the monster to let go of Sonic due to the pain. Four Arms broke out of his tendril by struggling out and Four Arms and Iris who is holding Sonic in her arms, resurfaced and swam to the shore as fast they could. Once they reached the surface, Sonic spitted out water and gasped for air and quickly thanked Iris before getting out her arms as the three along with Sparky went running for the Rust Bucket and barging inside, waking up their drowsy cousin/friend and Max.
Four Arms: "We were just attacked by a giant lake monster!" He shouted.
Then Gwen unintentionally threw her pillow at Sonic, hitting him in the face.
Sonic: "Hey!" He said slightly annoyed.
Gwen: "Hello, current events, you already got me with that one." She said as she then pulled the covers over her head and tried to go back to sleep.
Four Arms: "But I'm not kidding this time, Sonic, and Iris were there with me, they'll testify to this!" He informed.
Sonic and Iris gave him a nod.
Iris: "It's true, I just dived into the lake to save Sonic, who by the way almost drowned. And now I'm soaking wet, because a giant lake monster was dragging them both deep into the water. " She stated.
Sonic: "They're telling the truth! And incase one of you forgotten, I can't swim to save my life and if you two still think were kidding around, then how do explain how were all soak and wet and how I'm trying my best not go back into that water to teach that monster a lesson for trying to drown me." He ranted.
Max: "Come on, kiddos, joke's over." He said, sleepily.
Four Arms: "But-" He stuttered.
Sonic: "We-" He stuttered.
Max: "Get some sleep, remember, we have an early day tomorrow for our fishing trip." He told them before falling back to sleep.
The watch timed out, leaving Ben back in his human form.
Sparky: "Iris, I know you're upset that no one is believing you guys, but I think getting some sleep just for the night would help you guys rest your nerves for a bit, don't you think?"
He walked towards Iris as he let out a whimper and licked her hand to try to cheer her up and it worked as she smiled at her dog and gently pet his head.
Iris let out an aggravated sigh and she decided to go ahead and get some sleep.
Iris: " *sigh* Come on, guys. We could use some rest after what just happened." She said, before yawning and stretching her arms up and going inside. Leaving a disappointed Ben and Sonic.
The next morning.
The gang were walking towards the dock with our trio trying their best to explain their encounter the previous night. Max was holding a fishing rod and a cooler for the fish they were to catch.
Ben: "No, really!" He exclaimed.
Sonic: "It was humongous with these Blue glowing eyes!" He implied.
Max: "I'm sure it was just some kind of big fish, that's all. He reassured.
Gwen: "Yeah, so will you two give the mega-fish story a rest, will you Captain Dweeb and blue ferret?" She agreed.
Sonic: "Hey." He said slightly insulted at being called a ferret.
Iris: "They're not lying, I was there too, and you know if I'm willing to vouch about what Ben's saying, it's probably true." She implied as she held onto the handle of the leash, that's on her dog's collar.
Gwen: "Wow, I would expect this kinda stuff from you sometimes, but I would especially expect this from Ben, or maybe from Sonic, But you are still playing along with this charade of theirs?" She asked as Iris folded her arms and huffed.
Ben then walked ahead and saw a bucket full of live worms squirming around. He then smirked devilishly, grabbed a handful, and showed them to Iris and Gwen, disgusting Gwen and Iris just stuck out her tongue in disgust.
Ben: "Breakfast?" He asked jokingly.
Iris: "Ugh, Ben!" She yelled.
Gwen: "What's with the bucket of slimy's?" She asked.
Max: "Bait." He explained.
Gwen: "Yeah, well, I think I'm going to pass on the fishing thing, I'll stay here and catch some sun instead." She stated.
Iris: "I think I'll keep her company, Sonic, why don't you g-" She stopped talking to Sonic and saw the hedgehog just staring at the lake.
Iris: "Sonic!" She called, which made him jump a little, snapping him out of his gaze.
Sonic: "Yeah, what is it?" He asked.
Iris: "I was just asking you if you wanted to go fishing with Ben and Max. But I don't know if you want to after what happened last night. She said with concern.
Sonic thought about it for a few moments, before making his decision. Sonic then smirked at Iris and gave her a nod.
Sonic: "Sure, I don't mind, this way me and Ben will have each other's back when that lake monster decides to show up again." He told Iris as he went to join Ben and Max.
Iris gave Sonic a nod in agreement before she started to walk away.
Max: "Okay, but you don't know what you're missing." He told Gwen.
Gwen: "I'm pretty sure we do." She said as the girls and Sparky walked away.
Max, Ben and Sonic turned to the boat behind them, where the captain was preparing to go out. He wore a beige long-sleeved shirt and a red and white cap.
Max: "Captain Shaw?" He addressed.
Shaw: "Who wants to know?" He asked.
Max: "I'm Max Tennyson, and this is my grandson and his friend." He introduced.
Ban and Sonic waved hello.
Max: "We charted your boat today for a fishing trip." He informed.
Shaw: "Well what are you waiting for, an engraved invitation, get aboard, I ain't got all day." He said as he turned to the controls.
Ben, Sonic, and Max climbed aboard as the boat left the dock and headed out on the lake.
As the boat continued on, Max turned to Shaw as he was driving the boat.
Max: "Anything interesting to catch there today?" He asked.
Shaw: "More than you can possibly imagine." He answered.
He then turned to Ben and Sonic, who was looking out over the boat and into the water.
Shaw: "Looks like the boys are using their breakfast as chum." He told Max.
Ben and Sonic had put on their life jackets for safety as they gazed out into the water.
Max: Ben, Sonic, are you two feeling okay?" He asked as the duo stood up.
Sonic: "Were okay Max." He replied.
Ben: "Yeah, we're just keeping an eye out for the lake monster." He told Max.
Sonic: "That thing's not taking us by surprise this time." He said as he crossed his arms and stared at the water.
Max raised an eyebrow at that.
Ben looked out and something unusual and gasped.
Ben: "There it is!" He shouted.
But as the boat passed it by, Ben realized that it was just a fallen tree branch with a discarded cooler stuck in it.
Ben: "Oh, my bad." He apologized.
Max: "Now, boys, this is a fishing trip, not a monster hunt." He addressed.
Shaw: "It's called the Kraken." He told Max.
Ben: "Whoa, you know about it?" He asked.
Shaw: "It's my business to know about it." He said as he showed a picture he took of the lake, The picture had a shadowy figure under the water, as if it was the monster that the three of them encountered before.
Shaw: "I've been on its tail for years, folks say my rudder's not right." He told them.
Max: "Why doesn't that surprise me?" He asked
Shaw: "Sightings go back hundreds of years on this very lake, some say it's a myth, not me, I can take you to a spot where I personally laid eyes upon the beast. That is, if you got the stomach for some real adventure." He offered.
Ben and Sonic beamed up to Max hopefully and Max sighed in defeat.
Max: "I guess so." He accepted.
Ben: "All right!" He cheered.
Sonic: "Yes, looks like I can check fishing, fighting a monster off my bucket list." He cheered.
Meanwhile.
At the docks, Gwen was staring up at the sun while Iris was reading about the Teen Titans and the rise of aqualad. While Sparky curled up next to Iris, exhausted from playing around with Iris, she muttered to herself a song called That's all I need.
Iris: "I've always been good at running away, well I'm gonna run the show." She hummed before she looked over at her friend and looked to her dog who did a little gesture with his head informing her that now would be the best time to try and get her to believe what you, Ben and Sonic were trying to tell them.
She gave her dog a nod before petting him on the head and sighed heavily as put her book down before she walked over to her with a sigh.
Iris: "We weren't joking about the monster, you know." She told her.
Gwen: "Oh, really?" She asked as she sat up from her lying position on the docks.
Iris raised her eyebrow at Gwen.
Iris: "You know, before the start of the summer, I would've taken your side on some things. But after what's happened so far with me and Ben finding the watch and meeting Sonic, even if I didn't experience it for myself and Ben and Sonic were by themselves, I would've sided with them." She informed.
Gwen: "Why, you know as well as I do that it's crazy talk to think of a lake monster attack." She replied.
Iris: "Is it, is it really?" She asked as she crossed her arms.
Iris: "Come on Gwen, think about it, an alien watch from space dropped down right in front of me and Ben. And on top of that we have a 3 '3 foot tall blue hedgehog traveling with us so he can find his rings that are somewhere in the country so he can go to a mushroom planet. She said while showing two fingers.
Gwen scoffed in annoyance at the points Iris was making.
Iris: "Hey, I'm just saying, crazy and strange things have happened to us. We shouldn't take a giant monster attack out of the realm of possibilities." She implied
A bit later.
Shaw showed the boys the controls equipped on his boat to help him catch the Kraken.
Shaw: "Sonar, hi-def video setup, ultrasound, I got it all, and I will find it, mark my words. It can't hide forever." He declared.
Ben and Sonic stared at the equipment in awe before Max took the boys aside to have a word with them.
Max: "Boys, I don't want the two of you to put too much stock into what says, I don't think he has both oars in the water if you know what I mean." He told Ben and Sonic.
Sonic was slightly annoyed at this, but didn't show it.
Ben: "Why, just because he saw the Kraken too?" He asked with a bit of an upset tone as he and Sonic walked away from Max.
Later.
The boat had stopped, for in front of them were a few buoys floating in the water held together with a line that read 'Do Not Enter' forming a barrier over the further area of the lake.
Shaw: "Do Not Enter, what's going on?" He asked in shock.
Max: "Looks official, maybe we should turn back." He suggested.
Shaw: "Nonsense, this is my lake and I'll go wherever I-"
?: "Fishing boat, stop where you are." A male voice interrupted.
The boys looked over to see a big white and blue boat with a few men on it. The side of the boat had the initials F.O.F. Written on the side in blue bold letters. The men wore blue uniforms with black collars. The leader had brown hair and a goatee and he stepped up to the edge of the boat with a friendly smile.
?: "I'm Jonah Melville, the founder of Friends of Fish. We've closed this section of the lake for an environmental study, you'll have to turn your boat around." He explained.
Shaw: "Who's gonna make me fish-hugger?" He asked.
Max: "Well, since I charted the boat for the day, I believe I'm in charge, isn't that right, captain?" He asked.
Shaw sighed in disappointment, knowing that Max was right. He then walked off muttering to himself.
Sonic: "But what about the Kraken?" He asked.
Jonah laughed at that.
Jonah: "The Kraken, not that old fish story. Now look, I'm a marine biologist and anyone who tells you they've seen a monster in this lake is fishing without a hook." He informed them.
Then, Jonah and his crewmen walked away.
Ben then frowned and sighed.
Later.
The Friends of Fish boat was leading Shaw's boat back to the docks with a very disappointed Ben.
Then, suddenly, Shaw noticed that his sonar picked up a blip from under the lake.
Shaw: "The sonar, we've found something!" He announced.
A fin was scraping the surface of the lake, heading straight for the boat.
Ben: "Or something found us, look!" He shouted
The boys then looked out over the side of the boat to see the fin coming for them.
Shaw: "The Kraken!" He yelled.
The fin then went back under. An overhead shot saw that the Kraken was directly under Shaw's boat, but ignored it as it moved straight under them.
Shaw: "It's heading for the docks!" He exclaimed.
Ben, Max, and Sonic: "Iris and Gwen!" They shouted in unison, realizing the girls were in danger.
As the Kraken was heading for the docks, the girls were resting on the edge of the docks, kicking their feet while Sparky was sitting on ground away from the docks but keeping a close eye on the girls.
Gwen: "Aw, finally a little sun, and with Ben nowhere in sight, we can just lay back and relax." She told Iris, who gave Gwen a look that said 'Come on, cut him some slack'.
Iris: "Come on Gwen, you know he loves to have fun, that's why I hung out with him before I met you and before we met Sonic. Ben tends to annoy, mess with or prank me. But I always make sure to get him back with my own pranks." She said while smirking mischievously.
Gwen: "I know you two met back in preschool and since then you two practically hung out with each other, you two have a strong bond, you two almost act like your brother and sister." She stated.
Iris: "Well at least you had a bro-." That was when Gwen's eyes started to water from what Iris was about to say.
Iris: "Look, I'm sorry about what happened to the twins. If I lost Ben, I would be devastated.
Gwen then sighed as she looked out on the lake.
Gwen: "Well at least you have a friend, who's like a brother to you. But me, I'll never see my little brother and sister again." She said sadly.
Shaw then rang out his horn to warn the people on the dock.
Gwen: "How many times do you three think we're going to fall for this?" She asked, noticing the fin.
Iris: "Um, Gwen. That isn't Ben and Sonic." She said, getting a worried look in her eyes as the Kraken rose up in all of its glory and let out a loud shriek.
The girls then screamed as it smashed the docks, sending the civilians sprawling into the lake. They then resurfaced, the girls among them, their soaking wet hair drifting down in front of their faces.
Iris: "Well Gwen, a jerk would say 'I told you so'….I TOLD YOU WE WERE TELLING THE TRUTH!" She shouted.
Gwen: "Hey, Ben's always done those kinds of pranks in the past. How was I supposed to know that this was the one time he wasn't joking." She said with a shrug.
Iris: "Gee, I don't know, maybe the fact that me and a blue hedgehog named Sonic were willing to vouch for him, would've been a good sign." She said with a glare.
Shaw: "I told you, it's real, the Kraken lives!" He exclaimed.
Max: "Sail now, gloat later." He told Shaw.
He then leaned down to Ben and Sonic and put a hand on their shoulders.
Max: "Someone's got to rescue those people." He told the boys.
Ben: "I'm way ahead of you." He said, leaping into the lake and dialing his watch, showing the fish icon.
Ben: "Ripjaws to the rescue." He then took a deep breath and ducked under the water, before slamming the Omnitrix. But who came out was not who he expected.
XLR8: "Hey, I said Ripjaws, not XLR8, stupid watch!" He said in aggravation.
Sonic: "I better go." He said, getting into running position to follow after XLR8.
But from worrying about Gwen and Iris getting attacked by the Kraken made some old memories resurfaced and his body started glowing with lightning dancing around his body. Sonic opened his eyes and ran off the boat and into the lake, he then realized that he was about to run into the water so in response he closed his eyes and braced himself for impact. But after a moment he realized he was still running, and he didn't fall into the water, then noticed there's lightning dancing around his body and looked to feet to see that he's running on the water and was catching up to XLR8. Whose kicking his legs rapidly, eventually rising up and was running so fast that he was actually able to run on the water. Sonic let out a laugh in excitement at this new ability and ran to catch up with his friend. Sonic had caught up to XLR8 who closed his visor, They then looked over to see the civilians swimming away from the Kraken.
XLR8: "Ready, Sonic?" He asked.
Sonic: "Let's do this!" He answered.
Sonic ran up to the Kraken as a smirk grew on his face, at the chance of getting payback of the monster from trying to drown him last night, He ran as fast as he could and kicked the monster in its abdomen, stunning it for a bit while XLR8 Picked up the girls and ran them over to the shore, safe.
XLR8: "You two okay?" He asked.
The girls coughed up some lake water and sighed in relief.
Gwen: "I think so." She answered.
Iris: "Thanks for the save." She thanked.
XLR8 closed his visor before he turned around and zoomed out splashing Gwen with mud, while Iris placed a hand over her mouth so Gwen wouldn't hear her laughing at her.
Gwen: "Hey, you did that on purpose!" She yelled.
Iris: "Maybe he did, m-mayb-be he d-didn't." She said, trying not to laugh.
Gwen let out a groan at Iris for laughing at her.
Iris put her hands out in front of her in defense.
Iris: "Hey, no offense but you kinda deserved that for not believing us when we told you the truth." She told her.
Gwen just pouted and huffed.
Soon enough, the Kraken resurfaced from the water and started to pick people up to eat them. Fortunately, Sonic and XLR8 zoomed by as they picked up one person at a time, but XLR8 was staring at Sonic in surprise, because he saw two of him picking up the rest of the people, and brought them over to the shore where they would be safe.
Sonic: "Sorry guppy, but these people are not on the menu!" He shouted as the Kraken swiped its claw at him, which he dodged.
Sonic: "Ha, too slow." He smugly.
Jonah: "Get us out of here!" He ordered his crewmate back on the F.O.F. boat, who fired up the engines and engaged the gears, causing the boat to start to go away.
Unfortunately, The Kraken took notice of this, tossed the boat it was terrorizing aside, and swam after it.
XLR8 noticed the shadow going after the boat and called out to his friend.
XLR8: "Sonic, we've got a jaws reenactment going on!" He yelled.
Sonic: "Let's go!" He yelled back.
The duo then ran after the boat as fast as they could, soon enough, the Kraken popped out of the lake and roared. The captain tried to turn the boat around, but not fast enough as the Kraken knocked it aside with its tentacle. Just as it was about to destroy it again, XLR8 and Sonic zoomed in and created a water tornado, which knocked the Kraken back into the water before the duo back-flipped and front-flipped onto the boat.
But then, the Kraken popped up on the other side of the boat and shredded apart a cannery box, which Jonah ran towards in order to protect it.
Jonah: "Oh no you don't." He said as he and the box were dragged by the Kraken.
XLR8 ran forward, grabbed the tentacle and ran in reverse, pulling the Kraken back, which caused the monster to let go of the box and get freed from XLR8's grip. It tried to grab the box again, but Sonic ran underneath it and punched it rapidly in the jaws, which made the Kraken retreat back in the water.
Jonah: "Thanks for the hands…and the feet." He said as he shook Sonic's hand.
Sonic: "No problem, so mind telling us what was important in that crate that you risked your life for it?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.
Jonah: "Uh… our lunch." He answered.
XLR8: "You're telling us that you risked your heads for a few sandwiches?" He asked.
Then, without warning, the Kraken's tentacle popped out of the lake and grabbed the crate, dragging it into the lake. That was when the watch started to beep.
XLR8: "Uh, gotta run!" He said as he ran away and Sonic followed soon after. They were zooming towards Shaw's boat with Sonic right behind XLR8.
XLR8: "Almost there, I think I'm going to-" Then, the watch timed out and Ben landed on top of Sonic and the two came splashing down into the water.
Ben: "-make it." He said as Sonic wrapped his arms Ben's so he wouldn't sink.
They then looked up and they were at Shaw's boat as Max looked out.
Max: "Men overboard, turn the boat round!" He told Shaw.
Shaw: "Next time I see ya in my sights, ya won't be so lucky." He said as he turned the boat around and tossed a net that the boys climbed but then time froze as Sonic ran back onto the ship and put his disguise back on, and went back to where he was on the net before time went back to normal and the duo were back on the boat.
That night, a lot of campers were leaving the lake due to the incident that happened. Ben, Sonic, Iris, Gwen, Sparky and Max were by a campfire drying off as Ben and Sonic had a couple of towels around them.
Ben: "See, we told you!" He yelled.
Sonic: "That was the creature that tried to munch on us last night!" He told the group.
Iris: "I would've thought they were crazy too, but I was with them." She said calmly.
Ben: "Captain Shaw and us were right." He told Max.
Max: "Just because he was right about the Kraken doesn't mean I was wrong about him. I want you two to stay away from that guy, he's trouble" He advised.
Ben: "You're just being stubborn, Grandpa." He told Max.
Gwen: "Yeah, don't you just hate people like that?" She said ironically.
Max: "We'll leave this one to the experts, Ben, like those Fish of friends guys." He informed.
Sonic: "Experts, who better to snag a lake monster than the guy with the monster buster on his wrist and not to mention, a hedgehog who can run incredibly fast." He told Max.
Max: "I'm afraid this is just gonna have to be, the one that got away, Sonic." He implied.
Iris: "Ben, Sonic, I think he may be right about this, if something happened to you guys, I would never forgive myself." She said putting a hand on Ben and Sonic.
Ben: "Um, Iris, in case you haven't noticed me and Sonic are not helpless, plus we wouldn't be handling that Kraken by ourselves either." He informed her as Sonic gave Iris a nod in agreement.
Iris: "True, but still, I am not a hundred percent sure if we should try dealing with a giant sea monster." She said not entirely sure about the situation.
Ben: "Almost forgot something, hey sonic, how were you in two places at once like that?" He asked.
Sonic gave Ben a smirk at that question. He then started to move extremely fast from where he was sitting to standing beside Iris until it looked like he was in two places at once, the gang started in complete surprise.
Sonic: "It's an after image, but like to call it a speed mirage, I had some time on my hands so I decided to try and do what the reverse flash can do." He said with a smirk as he canceled the mirage.
Ben & Iris: "Cool." They said in amazement at seeing something from TV actually happen in front of them.
Captain Shaw walked by and growled to himself.
Shaw: "Low-down, no-good fish-kissers." He growled.
Ben: "Captain Shaw, what is it?" He asked.
Shaw: "The nerve of those enviro-punks, they shut down the entire lake, nobody tells me where to sail! And nobody's going to keep me away from reeling in the catch of the century! Nobody." He said as he walked away.
Later.
Captain Shaw went out on the boat sailing despite the shutting down the lake, but failed to notice Ben and Sonic who sneaked up on the boat, but the duo failed to notice Iris also sneaking up on the boat.
Inside the Rust Bucket, Gwen was in her PJs as was Max as she was knocking on the bathroom door, which Ben was supposedly in.
Gwen: "Come on, Ben, did you fall in there or something?" She shouted.
Max then opened the door, revealing the empty bathroom, Gwen gasped and saw that Iris was not in her bed and Sonic was gone, too.
On the lake, Shaw's boat came out from the docks when he heard rumbling by the crates. He looked and saw one of them shaking.
Shaw: "Hey, no stowaways on my boat, even if you're a filthy rat." He uncovered the crate to see Ben hiding.
Ben: "Um, first mate Tennyson reporting for duty, sir." He said nervously when they heard rumbling and a sneeze, coming from one of the other crates.
Shaw: "Looks like you're not the only one who snuck onto my boat." He said as he uncovered the two crates and saw Iris, and Sonic who had on his disguise before they snuck on the boat.
Ben and Sonic: "Iris?" They said surprised to see her on the boat.
Iris: "Guy's?" She said as she saw them.
Ben: "Guess all three of us had the same idea, huh?" He asked.
Shaw: "She's probably been scared deep by our fishy friends, only one way to fish her out, live bait." He suggested as he put on his green swimsuit and a snorkel.
Ben: "Maybe we should go with you, you know, just in case." he as Iris looked to Sonic looked a little nervous about going underwater.
Shaw: "No need, I've got all the help I need right here." He said as he grabbed a harpoon.
Shaw: "Wish me luck." He said as he dived into the lake.
Iris: "We have to do something." She told Ben and Sonic.
Ben: "Yeah" He said in agreement.
Sonic looked around and saw some diving suits by the crates.
Sonic: "Why don't you guys go in the water after Captain Shaw in case he might need help." He said as he pointed at the diving suits.
Iris and Ben looked at each other knowing Sonic was trying to avoid going into water, so they gave each other a nod in agreement knowing exactly what to tell him, to ease his worries.
Iris: "Sonic, we know you don't want to go back in the water, but you don't have to worry about that, we'll have your back the entire time, right Ben?" She asked.
Ben: "Yeah, we're in this together blue buddy." He reassured Sonic.
This was enough to calm the hedgehog down a little.
Sonic: "Thanks guys, I needed that." He said as he smiled towards his friends.
Under the lake.
Shaw was swimming through the lake to search for his prey, scaring off a school of fish, breathing heavily. He was then shocked by what he thought was the kraken's tentacle but it was actually an eel.
He then went into a crate below the ocean, which could only be the Kraken's nest and saw a giant ball with veins popping out of it. He analyzed it in thought before three shadowy figures appeared in the clearing and he fired his harpoon at them before they dodged, revealing themselves to be the trio from earlier and Ben and Iris, were currently holding Sonic's hands. As Shaw let out an annoyed sigh.
Shaw: "Kids these days, this is why I left my wife. He said to himself.
He gestured them down to the nest before going up for some air. But then, as he went up to his boat, he saw a black boat near his before he was grabbed and thrown violently onto the boat's floor to see a group of men in diving suits.
The leader: "Don't you know night-diving is dangerous, old timer, unless of course, you went with a friend." The leader asked.
Shaw: "I work alone, I ain't got no friends." He said sternly.
The leader: "And with a sparkling personality like your's?" The leader said as the trio rose from the water with a gasp to see the divers.
Shaw: "I ain't got anything worth stealing, either." He informed the leader.
The leader: "Ah, but you have us all wrong, what we want is information like what you saw down there." He asked.
Shaw: "Nothing, same as always." He lied.
The leader then punched Shaw unconscious before he removed his mask revealing himself to be Jonah, much to the trio's shock. In fact, Iris had to cover Sonic's mouth just to muffle his exclamation as she shushed him.
Ben: "We can't give ourselves away." He reminded him before Sonic nodded.
Ben looks at his Omnitrix with a glare.
Jonah: "Take rehab here with us, find out what he knows here back at the cannery, we'll come back here later with a mini-sub for the rest of the eggs. He commanded his assistants as he then tossed a tracking device to the bottom of the lake down to the nest.
Jonah: "In the meantime, I think this boat just got lost at sea." He then threw a bomb onto the boat, destroying it instantly in a ball of fire before the boat sped away.
The trio ducked under water and swam for their lives, avoiding the debris and the Omnitrix activated.
Sonic: "You thinking what I'm thinking?" He asked.
Ben, Iris and Sonic: "It's hero time!" They said together.
Ben transforms in a flash of green light.
On the F.O.F boat.
The two looked at a shape forming in the sky.
"Is that a bird?" one of them asked.
"Nah, it looks like a plane." The other said before Stinkfly, Sonic and Iris showed up in the sky, glaring.
Jonah: "It's a bug, some kind of rat and a girl, Man the harpoons." He shouted.
Sonic: "Hey, I'm not a rat, I'm a hedgehog!" He said feeling a bit insulted.
Stinkfly: "Just give it up." He warned.
Iris: "You're all totally busted." She informed them.
The sailors hooked up two harpoon guns and started firing at Stinkfly before he shot them with slime. Jonah angrily flipped a few switches, dropping charged barrels into the water.
Iris: "Oh boy." She said before Jonah blew the barrels up.
He was able to fly through a few before one blew up a tree, surprising them and sending them sprawling into the lake in a haze. Sonic was about to drown, until Iris wrapped her arm around his waist.
Stinkfly tried to fly again, but found himself unable to.
Stinkfly: "Oh man, my wings are too wet for takeoff!" He shouted.
Sonic: "Oh no, that is not good." He confirmed.
The boat then went around with an angry look in Jonah's eyes as he looked at them like a deer in the headlights.
Jonah: "Let's squish them once and for all!" He declared.
They then swam away from it before reaching a log and climbing on top of it before Stinkfly started flapping its wings in a hurry.
Stinkfly: "Come on, come on, dry off!" He begged as they fired harpoon at them as Iris closed her eyes as she bawled her hands into a fist and they started to glow purple.
Stinkfly then spotted a tree branch above them and got an idea as he fired a stream of goo from his mouth, sticking to the branch as Iris stopped what she was doing and looked to Stinkfly.
Sonic: "Well, that's one way to get us out of this predicament." He told Stinkfly.
Stinkfly then grabbed his friends and swung away from the log as the boat ran over the log, almost killing the three of them as they landed on a tree branch, leaving Jonah and his men confused as they used their flashlights to try to spot them, but they covered behind the tree as he shown on their area.
Jonah then spotted a fin ducking under the water.
Jonah: "It's getting too crowded in here, dump the trash overboard." He ordered.
Stinkfly shook the last of the water from their wings as they tossed an unconscious Shaw into the lake. But before he could sink too deep, Stinkfly grabbed him and pulled him out of the water. The trio then looked around for Jonah's boat, but it was nowhere in sight, and flew back to the campsite as fast as possible, struggling a little bit because of how many people he's carrying.
Stinkfly: "Almost there." He said as he saw the Rust Bucket in the distance.
Unfortunately, the watch's symbol began to beep.
Iris: "Ah, come on, not now!" She yelled in annoyance.
Gwen had her binoculars out, trying to spot them as Max came out of the RV with Sparky.
Max: "Any sign of Ben, Sonic, Iris or Shaw?" He asked.
Gwen: "No, not yet." She answered.
Then, they heard the beeping which could only mean one thing as a red flash of light came from the sky and the trio and Shaw fell right out of the sky. Luckily, they were saved by the awning on the Rust Bucket, which broke their fall.
Ben: "Ugh, I hate it when that happens." He stated.
Iris & Sonic: "Tell me about it." They said in unison.
In the RV.
Iris: "-And the Kraken's nest was full of eggs!" She exclaimed as the three told them the story of what they encountered in the lake.
Sonic: "No wonder she's been attacking everything!" He stated.
Ben: "Jonah must be stealing her eggs!" He said in realization.
Gwen: "And I think I know who Jonah is." She stated as she showed them a webpage on her laptop.
Gwen: "I did a little checking on Friends of Fish and found out it's not listed on any environment website, but I did find this: Jonah Melville isn't a friend to any kind of wildlife, he travels around the world poaching rare animals and crates them up and sells them to private collectors." She informed them.
Iris: "Crates them up…" She thought.
Ben: "Oh man, I bet that crate the Kraken took off their boat had an egg in it!" He realized.
Max: "Looks like we were all a little too hard-headed." He stated.
Iris: "We've got to stop them!" She declared.
Sonic: "They said something about going out to a cannery." He reported.
Shaw: "All this talk doesn't change a thing, mommy or not, that beast is mine." He then walked out the doorway and montioned the team to follow.
Shaw: "Let's go, I've got a spare boat down at the docks." He told them.
The gang then smiled at each other mischievously and then ran out.
At the boat.
Gwen had dialed 9-1-1 on her cellphone.
Iris kneeled down to her dog and patted his head.
Iris: "Sorry boy, but we can't take you with us this time, you're gonna have to wait here until we come back, alright." She told her dog.
Sparky: "Don't worry Iris I understand, and besides there's no room for me on that little boat anyway, now hurry and go save those eggs." He told her telepathically as he gave her a nod in understanding.
Gwen: "It'll take a while for the police to get here." She said as Shaw untied the boat from the dock.
But when he did, they sped off without him as he held up his lantern.
Shaw: "What are you doing, get back here!" He yelled.
Iris: "Sorry, captain." She yelled back.
Shaw: "You don't know what you're doing, a monster's a monster and I know a monster when I see one!" He shouted.
He then spotted a rowboat next to the dock.
At the cannery.
A crane hooked up to Jonah's underwater mecha-suit as he was holding one of the eggs and it lifted him up to the dock as one of his men pushed a can with the other egg. He handed it to his worker and he struggled to carry it from its weight.
Jonah: "Careful or you'll be cleaning up the world's most expensive omelet." He warned as his worker put it into the can with the other egg."
Jonah: "After we sell these babies to the highest bidder, we'll be kicking back on a beach in the Bahamas." He announced.
Under the dock, the boat sped up to the ladder as Max, Gwen, and Iris started to climb it.
Sonic: "See if you can find the eggs." He told them.
Gwen: "What about you two?" She asked.
Ben: "We're gonna kick some Friends of Fish tail!" He said with a smirk.
As he dialed in the aquatic form, Sonic put on his diving gear before Ben slammed down on the core when he found the right alien for the job, when the green light faded, in Ben's place stood an alien that appeared the share a number of traits with Earth's aquatic life, such as alligators, eels, anglerfish, and sharks. He had a phosphorescent light on his head and the Omnitrix symbol was on his left torso. This alien was known as Ripjaws.
But before they could do anything, the Kraken burst up from the ground and wrecked the dock, knocking them out of the boat.
Jonah: "The bigger the Kraken, the bigger the pay day!" He said with a smile.
He ran for his mecha-suit while his men opened fire on her with their guns, which did nothing to pierce her thick hide. One of them, giving up, ran inside of the cannery to be safe. The Kraken then knocked the other one into the lake.
The Kraken then went down to get her eggs, but Jonah used the crane to use the suit to swipe them before she could get them. He fired blue bullets at her, which were actually doing some damage as she began to fall into the lake.
But then, Ripjaws along with Sonic holding on to his hand came swimming up and leaped out of the water and onto Jonah's suit.
Sonic: "You want to mess with a monster?" He asked.
Ripjaws: "Try us on for size!" He growled in a gravelly voice.
Sonic jumped off the mecha-suit and landed on the docks to wait for the right moment to take the eggs. But then he realized something.
Sonic: "how am I supposed to get both of the eggs to nest if I can't swim?" He thought.
But then, he noticed a few crates behind him and decided to check and see if there's anything useful in there. He quickly vibrated through the crates and came out with some kind of pack, he looked on the side of the pack and found words on it.
Sonic: "Underwater jetpack, awesome, I can use this to swim underwater." He said happily.
He then heard the container hit the dock and looked to see the eggs rolled away onto a loose board. Just a shake would cause them to fall into the lake.
Inside of the cannery.
Iris, Gwen, and Max sneaked quietly and peeked around the corner at Jonah's henchmen, who were grabbing weapons. Max then did a game of charades to signify where he was going to go and for the girls to keep watch.
Meanwhile, the man that was knocked over by the edge by the Kraken surfaced and took a deep breath. He then went and climbed the ladder back to the cannery, he then got behind Iris, Gwen and Max and pointed his gun at them.
Max: "Okay, buddy. We can do this the easy way or the hard way." He said as he pounded his fist into his open hand.
The henchman smiled and backed them up.
While Iris was backing up behind Gwen, she bawled her right hand into a fist as her left hand rolled up her sleeve.
Iris: "The hard way it is." She thought to herself.
But then she stopped herself and rolled down her sleeve. Sure she could've easily taken care of the henchmen, but she wasn't a hundred percent sure about revealing who she truly is to the others yet. But this little motion didn't go unnoticed by Gwen. But then suddenly, the Kraken tail burst through the cannery and Iris, Gwen and Max were surprised, as were the henchmen.
Max: "Go high." He said as he, Iris and Gwen grabbed onto three of the latches for shipping the cans and swung forward as the floor underneath them was knocked out, sending the first henchmen back into the lake.
As they reached the other side, the other henchmen came out with the weapon out of his hands and the girls kicked him unconscious.
Gwen: "Is this the easy way or the hard way." She asked Max who just shrugged with a chuckle.
Iris: "Eh, I would call this the medium way, now come on let's go help Ben and Sonic." She said as she ran towards the exit, followed by Max and Gwen.
Back with Ripjaws and Sonic, while Ripjaws was still fighting Jonah with the Kraken, Sonic quickly strapped the underwater jetpack to his back and quickly ran for the eggs that were shaking on the board due to all of the fighting.
But then Sonic stopped in his tracks when the Kraken grabbed them with his tail, saving them.
Jonah: "My eggs!" He shouted as he tried to go for them again, but the duo grabbed onto his suit's legs.
Ripjaws: "They aren't your eggs!" He shouted.
The pair then tackled him away and they each grabbed an egg and dove into the lake.
Jonah scowled and released the crane's grip on his suit as he followed them and they were both followed by the Kraken. He then caught the two of them and started brawling with them as they grunted from the quick punches from the heavy metal suit.
Jonah: "Rescuing babies, very heroic, but not very smart." He smirked.
He then grabbed the eggs and controlled his suit to go back up with them.
Ripjaws and Sonic then rubbed their heads as they growled, Ripjaws swam back up after him as Sonic looked to the side of his jetpack and found a green button, out of curiosity he pressed the button and he went soaring right beside Ripjaws in a few moments.
Sonic: "Rush him?" He asked.
Ripjaws: "You know it, bud." He smirked as the two swam as fast as they could.
Once they reached him and grabbed onto his suit and started their brawl back up as they eventually got the eggs out of his grip and Ripjaws caught them in jaws as Sonic swam right towards him and delivered a swift kick into the glass window of the suit as it started to crack.
Sonic: "Don't! Miss! With! Babies!" He grunted, delivering a kick with every word as the suit started to fill up with water.
But that was when the kraken came swimming up and used her tentacles to slam into both of them, causing Ripjaws to lose his grip on the eggs as they went flying out of his jaw. The Kraken then caught them in her tentacle as the duo recovered on the lake floor and gazed at Jonah going after her, despite the flooding in his mech suit. The two nodded at each other and went swimming after him. Jonah then let loose a sonic pulse from his suit's claws, causing the Kraken to screech in pain as she dropped the eggs. Jonah then gripped them again and tried to swim away before the duo tackled him into what remained of Shaw's boat.
Sonic saw the anchor loose before he jumped onto Jonah's suit's claw but he let out an electric shock which stunned him as he fell down and tried to swim away.
Ripjaws then saw the anchor next to a dazed Sonic before he grabbed it, swung it around like a mace and threw it, managing to grip the suit, preventing it from getting any further as the Kraken swam in and chomped down on the chain of the anchor as the two of them were flung away, while the three of them got into a tussle with the eggs, Sonic then suddenly swam in and grabbed the eggs in his arms and then went swimming for the Kraken's nest as the three of them went swimming after Sonic.
As the Kraken reached him, Sonic then placed the eggs down in the nest as the Kraken cradled them lovingly as Jonah came swimming up to them with a furious shout. But the Kraken then gripped the suit in her tentacles and ripped it to shreds, forcing Jonah out of the suit.
Jonah then, in a last-ditch effort, pulled a knife from his pants leg, only to break against the Kraken's hide.
The Kraken then screeched as it attempted to eat him, only for the duo to block her way with their arms spread out, telling her to spare him. The Kraken reluctantly agreed as she went back to her eggs as Jonah shrugged at the two of them, they both gave him a knuckle sandwich, knocking him out.
On the surface.
Ripjaws then hung Jonah on a loose wooden plank as they then glared at his unconscious body.
Ripjaws: "Hang here for a while until the police find a nice dry cell for you." He said as they saw the red and blue lights of the police boat as they then swam away from sight under the water.
Max, Gwen, Iris and Sparky then saw the police picking Jonah up.
Max: "Good riddance to bad rubbish." He scoffed.
Shaw: "Got one, one of the eggs must've hatched, imagine this mounted on my wall." He said as he came up in his rowboat with Ripjaws in his fishing net.
That's when the Omnitrix decided to time out, turning Ben back to human.
Iris: "I don't think your catch of the day is exactly as advertised." She chuckled as Sparky and Gwen smirked at the sight.
Shaw raised his eyebrow as he lifted his lantern, revealing Ben tangled up in the net as he smiled innocently, water dripping from his hair and clothes.
Shaw: "But I could've sworn." He said as he removed his hat and shook his head.
Under the lake, the Kraken cradled her eggs lovingly, thanking the heroes for saving them.
A while later.
Ben, Gwen, Iris, Sonic and Sparky decided to stay up for a little while before heading to bed, it did take for Sonic to show up after everything with Shaw and the poachers had been wrapped up, Sonic showed up a while after looking for his rings. But he didn't find them here which made sense, but Sonic told them, he just wanted to make sure. After a while Ben, Gwen and Sparky decided to head to bed. But Sonic grabbed Iris by arm and whispered for her to meet him at the boardwalk while everyones asleep, she gave him nod and went inside the RV while Sonic went to the Boardwalk to relax while he waited for Iris.
A while later.
Sonic then sneezed because he caught a little cold from being in the water.
Sonic: "Sonic, you gotta stay away from the water…" He groaned to himself, while sniffing, and smirking.
He then stood up and continued to stare at the lake reminiscing about the recent adventure he had today and the heroic deed he did, reuniting a mother with her babies. Until he heard someone walking up behind him snapping him out of his thoughts, he turned around and saw Iris, who was smiling at him.
Iris: "You wanted to talk to me about something?" She asked.
Sonic crossed his arms and smiled at her.
Sonic: "Is everyone asleep?" He asked.
Iris gave him a nod in confirmation.
Sonic: "Okay good, now I can talk to you without worry." He told her.
Iris raised an eyebrow at that.
Iris: "Without worry, what would he be worried about?" She crossed her arms waiting to hear what Sonic wanted to tell her.
Sonic: "I know who you are." He told her.
Iris: "Of course you know who I am you been watching us for a lo-"
Sonic: "I mean I know you're an elemental, an alien like me. But unlike me, you actually look like a human instead of an animal, like I do." He clarified to her.
Iris stared at him in shock, but she wasn't entirely surprised that he knows she's an alien, she's more surprised that he knows what species she is.
Iris: "How long have you known about that?" She asked calmly.
Sonic pondered on that question for a few minutes, but then remembered exactly when he found out.
Sonic: "Back when your Mom and Dad took you deep in the forest to teach you how to control your fire abilities." He said as he snapped his fingers distinctly remembering.
Iris looked at him in a mixture of surprise and shock. But then Sonic can tell that she was about to freak out and decided now would be the best time to reassure her.
Sonic: "Don't worry Iris, I've been keeping it a secret for a long time, I'm gonna tell the others." He reassured her. And it seemed like it made her calm down.
Iris: "You promise?" She asked.
Sonic: "I promise, after all we aliens have to stick together right?" He asked as he offered his hand towards Iris.
Iris let out a little giggle as shook Sonic's hand and gave him a nod.
Iris: "True." She said in agreement.
Sonic: "There's something I've been meaning to ask you too, do you ever plan on telling the others that you and Sparky are aliens, especially Ben." He asked.
Iris slowly rubbed her arm at that question as she bit her lip nervously.
After a few moments Iris let out a frustrated goan.
Iris: "I don't know Sonic, I mean based on what I've read, watched and heard about, I'm afraid that they might hate me or they don't want to be around me anymore, because of what I can do." She said not entirely sure about what to do as she was on the verge of tears just thinking about it
Iris felt a hand on her back and looked to her right to see Sonic smiling at her.
Sonic: "Come on Iris, Ben and Gwen are your best friends. Plus, I'm pretty sure Ben and I wouldn't mind having another hero in our little group and I'm pretty sure Ben can use another partner to help us take down the bad guys." He said optimistically.
Iris smiled at that, she can just see it now, fighting enemies and alien threats along with the two of them. But she's just not sure when would be the right time for her and Sparky to reveal themselves to the others.
Iris: "Sonic, I'm just not sure when would be the right time to tell them, cause I'm just waiting for the right moment to tell them, that's all." She told him.
Sonic: "Okay so when do you think you should tell them?" He asked.
Iris thought about it for a moment and knew exactly when would be the right time to tell them.
Iris: "I'll tell them when you and Ben start to look like you could use some back up." She informed him.
Sonic gave her a nod and gave her a thumbs up.
Sonic: "Okay, until then your secret is safe with me Iris." He said as he smiled at her.
Sonic let out a yawn as he felt the lack of sleep getting to him as he stretched out his arms.
Sonic: "Man, we must've been up for a while, better head to bed while we still can." He said as he made his way to the RV.
Iris soon let out a yawn as she followed Sonic back to the Rust Bucket, Not without having one last thought.
Iris: "I just hope they won't think any less of me when I tell them who I really am." She thought worriedly.
Once Iris and Sonic made it inside, Sonic grabbed a blanket, took off his shoes, laid down on the passenger's seat and went straight to sleep. Iris wasted no time putting on her night clothes, climbing onto the top bunk bed and going to sleep.
But little do they know, that a certain redhead wasn't completely asleep and she was eavesdropping on their conversation the whole time. For right now, she's contemplating on what she heard the two of them talking about.
Gwen: "Iris and Sparky, are aliens?" She quietly whispered to herself.
Uh oh, Gwen knows about Iris's true identity, makes you wonder what will happen next doesn't it. Well that's where we're gonna leave things for right now, cause We're gonna be working on Ultrazone and then I'll be working the other stories we haven't been paying attention to.
