Greetings to all! It has been a long time but at least you all know that this story has not been forgotten at all. But I come bearing good news. I have gotten myself a job! SO so happy I am! I am now working at the vet office as a receptionist. Please forgive me for my delay in updating this story that I have started. So without further ado I shall now start the continuing of my story! Which btw I hold no rights to any of the characters besides the ones I have made up in my mind.
Normal Pov:
The next morning Kagome awoken by the sweet melody of the birds. Sitting up, she rubs the sleep in her eyes away as she looks around. It takes her a few moments to take everything in once more and to realize that all the events that had happen yesterday were not a dream nor something her mind had imagined. It was all real, as hard as it is to believe….
She looked down at the bedding she was on and felt about it. Never before was she able to sleep on something so soft… closest thing she could compare it to was a straw pill, but even then it wasn't the same. To top it off the more she felt about the pillows the more she came to realize that they were stuffed with feathers… no wonder she has slept so well. Deciding it was time to get up and dressed she crawls out and does so.
Clothed and fully she ventures out into her new home. She steps out into the hallway looking this way and that before she scurries into the main area ready to see the village. As she goes to open the doors a voice stops her. " I thought you were never going to wake up!" Jolting from shock she turns around to see Kei behind her.
He Looked a few years older than her… maybe about 8 or 9 but she is unsure… He was a handsome boy.. a lot like his father thou he had his mothers eyes, both mismatched greens and yellow. Grinning the boy made his way over to her. Looking closer she noticed his sharp fangs in his smile. " Come on don't just stand there lets head out. Everyone else is already up and awake I can show you around even more today and show you all my favorite spots!" He says with excitement as he tail wags behind him.
Kagome smiles brightly and nods. " Alright! Lead the way."
Venturing out she follows behind Kei closely so she doesn't get lost. Kei leads her to what looks to be a cooking area. There are a few women around laughing as they chop veggies and mix spices up for meals and soups. Kei looks towards Kagome and puts his finger towards his mouth as a sign to not make a noise before he sneaks under the table while none of the women were watching. Being mindful not to get caught her waits for one of them to set down a plate of sweet rolls before he attempts to snatch one of them.
Kagome watched, covering her mouth with her hands to hold in her giggles. He reached up and felt about the table trying to get a feel for it. Right as his hands managed to touch the sweet delight he was yanked up by his arm and held in the air. Giving out a yelp as he came face to face with Aadrita the clan cook. Kei grins sheepishly. " Good afternoon Ms. Aadrita how is your day going?" Kei asks only to receive a glare from said person. " Don't try to charm your way out of this you little sneak! You may be able to use your sweet words on everyone else here but not me! " The older woman lets go of Kei and he drops down on his feet and straightens up. " But Ms. Aadrita I only wanted to get one for my little sister, after all your sweet rolls are the best there ever was it is only right that she should be able to savor it." Ms. Aadrita continues to glare at him. " You truly are a silver tongue demon, just like your father." The older woman turns to Kagome who had stopped giggling as she watched the scene unfold between the two in worry. Raising an eyebrow at the timid thing she waves her over. Kagome cautiously walks over to her ready to bolt if need be. Standing in front of the woman she now knows as Ms. Aadrita she fiddles with her fingers and shifts her feet about.
The older woman eyes the little girl before reaching over and getting a sweet roll and handing it out for her to take. Kagome looks at the roll and then at the woman to see if it is a trick. " Come on then child take the sweet roll, I don't have all day" Not wanting to make her irritated more than she sounds, Kagome quickly does as she is asked. She holds it in her hands before the woman gives her a look and she takes a bite.
Instantly her taste buds explode from the flavor, it was so soft. And the sweetness itself makes her mouth beg for more. Unknowingly Kagome lets out a moan, and the older lady laughs causing her to open her eyes…. Though she doesn't remember closing them at all.
" Glad to know I have not lost my touch when it comes to sweets! " Blushing Kagome bows her head "Thank you Ms. Aadrita the sweet roll is the best thing I have ever tasted in my life" The woman smiles down at Kagome. " You may call me Nana little one, I've tried getting this one to do the same but he seems to enjoy riling me up instead." She says while sending a glare towards Kei who had his cheeks stuffed with a sweet roll to the point of looking like a chipmunk. Raising her spoon that seemed to appear out of no where she swats his hand that was reaching for another roll. " AACK!" Snatching his abused hand away and holding it to his chest as he tried to rub away the pain.
" Nana why would you be so mean to me.." he asks giving his best puppy eyes only to get wacked on the head. " OUCH! Hey!" " Don't try to butter me up now! Its to late! Anyways you both run along now and stay out of mischief. Dinner will be ready later so if you get hungry go look for some berries instead of wasting your appetite on sweets." With that Kei grabs Kagome's hand and runs off before he angers the old lady anymore than he already has.
" Well Kagome that was fun! Now let me go show you some of my friends!" Smiling she nods and follows along where Kei pulls her to. They run up to some kids playing tag. They were all avoiding on kid, going as far as jumping in trees and going from branch to branch. Kei grins " Hey everyone I want you all to officially meet my little sister Kagome!" he says proudly. All the fox children stop and look towards them before smiling and coming up. All of them bombarding with greetings and questions alike. She started to get over whelmed and that is when Kei stepped in. " alright give her some space." She looked around with big smile " It is nice to meet all of you. I hope we all become the best of friends"
One of the young boys walked up to Kei grinning before reaching out quickly and tagging Kei who in turn yelled out, saying doing such things were unfair if the other person was not ready. Laughter erupted as the children ran and dodged Kei's attempt at tagging. This carried on for a few hours. Tagging each other, When it came to Kagome being tagged they slowed their pace enough to allow her the chance of catching one of them.
Soon enough Kei drugged Kagome away. " Come on, I wanna show you one of my favorite places! But you have to keep it a secret no one but me and you are allowed to know." Kagome nodded her head in agreement. " I promise I wont tell anyone"
He lead her to a stone wall that was far away from the village, from there he looked around to make sure no one was watching them before he crouched down and moved some ivy leaves to uncover a hole. It was small enough that an adult could not fit in but big enough for them to squeeze through. Kei went first in order to make sure everything was safe on the other side before Kagome came after. Once through she gasped at the sight.
It was a beautiful clear spring surrounded by greenery. Honey suckles Littered along the sides of rose bushes mixing in their sweet fragrance. A huge tree stood strong with long leafy vines flowing with the breeze. Lilac flowers hung themselves from its branches along with cherry blossoms. The tree itself was like none Kagome has ever heard or seen before. The trunk of the tree looked as if it was two trees intertwined each other. One bark being light and the other dark. Humming birds gathered around the blooming flowers to feed off of the sweet nectar they produce. It was a ethereal sight to behold.
Kei came up to her and smiled " Pretty cool huh? This is the only tree I've ever seen where two completely different trees merged like this." Kagome stares at it unable to figure out how something like this is possible… " H-how are they able to do that?" Kei scratches the back of his head and shrugs.
"I'm not entirely sure how… but the best I can tell is that one or both trees were dying and by a stroke of luck were able to merge with each other…" They spent awhile exploring around and splashing in the spring water. All seemed well until a evil laugh causing their attentions to focus on the source of it.
Kagome felt terror course through her as she locked eye with the demon snake lady… never had she thought she would see her again. The piercing yellow eyes started at the two children with a malicious grin. She licked her lips and ran her tongue across her fangs. " Imagine my luck when I found myself passing through looking for a meal and a familiar scent catches my attention… only to find out the source is my meal that was stolen from me…" All Kagome could do was stand still. Her fear not allowing her to move even a muscle.
Kei moved himself in front of her blocking her from the demon snake. " You are not welcome here.. Leave now and you can live another day" He says growling and taking a defensive stance. This action only seemed to make the demon laugh before her tail shot out and slammed Kei against the wall before curling around Kagome in a coil and constricting her movements. Struggling she tries with her might to wiggle herself free from the constructive coil but it does no good and tears form in her eyes as they stream down her face. The demon snake simple smiles at this and shh's her. " Now, now little one not to worry, it will be over soon so just sit tight." Kagome watched as the snakes jaw unhinged frightening and dreadfully. Once unhinged fully she went for Kagome.
Her scream rang out throughout the forest.
