Author's Note: Well look what we have here. Hopefully, it's not too late to save this.
"True friends are great riches."
Chapter Two.
Age of the Hero of Time
Later on that evening, Zelda was in her bedroom staring at the dresses she had to choose from. Impa showed one that Zelda loved. It was a dress with a white top with a pink and purple skirt on it. The dress was sleeveless and it ended just below her knees. She quickly got changed before Impa braided Zelda's hair and placed it up in a bun on the back of her head. She then bobby-pinned the small crown onto Zelda's head. She slipped into flats before she rose to her feet.
"You look beautiful, Zelda," Impa commented, as the young princess flashed her a small smile.
"Thank you, Impa," Zelda whispered. She had a twinkle in her eyes. "Is Malon coming tonight?" Impa gave her a small smile and a slight nod. Zelda was glad her friend was coming. She turned to leave with Impa right behind her.
As the two women left the room they both stopped. Link had stepped out at that moment and Zelda felt a blush creep onto her cheeks. He changed out of his characteristic green tunic and wore a blue tunic that had gold accents on the edges, black pants, and a pair of black boots. His hair was brushed and ended just above his shining sapphire hues.
"Oh Zelda, you look beautiful," Link felt as though his legs were jelly. The blush began to spread across his cheeks, as Impa covered her face with her hand. She thought it was the cutest thing she had ever seen.
"Alright you two, we should get going so we are not late," Impa said, placing a friendly hand on Link's back and one on Zelda. The two children walked in front of her, as her hands returned to her side. She had a small smile, knowing that Zelda was going to enjoy having a friend live with her.
As the three arrived, they could see that the party was about to start. The King was waiting for them all and smiled, as the three bowed to him. "Good evening. Zelda you may stand with me. Link, once I announce you, you may step out and stand beside Zelda." Link nodded, as Impa and he went to their spots, and the King and Zelda approached their thrones.
A guard received a nod from the King. He cleared his throat. "Presenting his majesty King Daphnes and her royal highness, Princess Zelda." The crowd bowed in respect, as the King stepped forward.
"I thank you all for coming to this party this evening. We are pushing the festival back for the night due to a special reason," Daphnes turned and motioned for Link. The young boy took a deep breath before he came out and stood where Daphnes pointed and placed a friendly hand on him. "This young boy is Link, who saved the Gorons from starvation and also rescued the Zora Princess from their guardian deity. He has shown courage beyond his years and this celebration is for him and everything he has done. So to you young hero, Link."
"To the young hero, Link," everyone raised a glass and took a sip. Within minutes, the party was underway with music, food, dancing, and people chatting with one another.
A pair of brown eyes were staring from the shadows, widening when the guard announced Zelda and when the King announced Link. "Hmm, I seemed to have stumbled across something...how interesting..." the figure voiced before they snapped their fingers and flickered away.
A little bit later, Zelda grabbed Link's hand and pulled him onto the dance floor. "You haven't danced much, Link. Is something bothering you?" She noticed he was distracted by something.
"I am sorry, Zelda. I can't quite figure out what's bothering me," Link began to explain "I mean, I fought the King of Evil you'd think nothing would bother me. Something just seems out of place." The two of them looked out the window they were standing by. The beautiful land of Hyrule laid out beyond the walls of Castle Town The rays from the setting sun made it shine in brilliant reds, oranges, and yellows. "But I have to tell you one thing. Only the goddesses can make a sunset that beautiful." Zelda smiled, as she agreed with him. She laid her head on his shoulder, as he laid his against hers.
"Are you two a picture," A voice commented from behind. Standing there was the beautiful farm girl Malon and the Princess of the Zora, Ruto. Malon wore a beautiful white top dress that had a dark blue skirt and dark blue flats. Her hair was braided and it had white and blue flowers in it. Ruto wore a light green dress that flared at her hips and she wore green flats. All the girls, including Zelda, wore jewelry and the tiniest bit of makeup.
"I'm glad you two are here," Zelda gently pulled away from Link and hugged the girls, who also hugged Link.
"You think we'd miss this party?" Ruto placed her hands on her hips, as Link and Malon laughed. Zelda shook her head with a smile. "It's to celebrate 'Mister Hero,'" Link blushed in embarrassment.
"Don't tease him too much, Ruto," Malon commented. "I think Link is very brave to save you from your guardian deity and the gorons from starvation. He deserves everything that he is receiving." A young child not far from them heard Malon's comment. He walked up to the group.
"Greetings your Majesties, hero, and fair maiden," he bowed respectfully, as the group looked at him. He was a cute kid, with brown hair that was tied in a low ponytail, his green eyes were friendly, and he had a small on his face. He wore a red tunic with gold accents along the edges, brown pants, and brown boots. He had a sword and shield strapped to his back, with fingerless gauntlets and a small crown gracing his head.
"Hello," Ruto smiled, already trying to flirt.
Greetings to you," Zelda, Link, and Malon said in unison with a small bow.
"I don't believe I caught your name," Zelda commented, looking at him with a friendly smile.
"My apologies Princess. My name is Coro, Prince of Holodrum. My father and I were invited to the Festival this year by your father.," he explained with his own friendly smile. "And I am excited to hear about your adventures, hero." He regarded Link with a smile.
"Your majesty please call me Link," he smiled.
"And please call me Zelda," she inputted.
"As long as you all call me Coro," he replied and received a nod from all of them. 'I just need to befriend them all and have some fun.' he thought to himself.
Author's Note: A chapter is done! I'm getting the stage set for some shenanigans. Does anyone have thoughts about Prince Coro? Let me know!
