"Inuyasha Takahashi." A nurse comes into the room. Inuyasha looks at her. "You have a daughter." She informs him. Inuyasha smiles as he follows her to the appointed room where his wife is resting after giving birth.
Inuyasha enters the room to see Kagome smiling while holding their daughter in her arms. "How are you feeling, Kagome?" He asks her gently. Kagome keeps smiling as she gives him a kiss as he is close enough to her. "I'm good. As well as our daughter." Kagome looks back down to their newborn. The newborn looks mostly like Kagome with her raven black hair. Just looking at the baby, Inuyasha couldn't be any prouder. "Moroha." He said. Kagome looks at him curiously. "Her name is Moroha Takahashi." Inuyasha specifically. "From what I've heard is that she's a quarter demon." Kagome said to him. Inuyasha nods as Moroha looks more human than a demon. The thing is that Inuyasha is a half demon himself. As such his mother Izayoi is human while his father Toga is a great dog demon. Kagome is a regular human herself but with spiritual powers. Moroha manages to open her eyes to show that they look like Kagome's chocolate brown as well as the eye shape. She yawns and goes back to sleep. Inuyasha and Kagome look at their daughter fondly.
"We're a family." Inuyasha spoke to her. Kagome hmms. "I wonder how your brother and Rin are doing?" Kagome asks him curiously. Inuyasha looks down to his smartphone to see if any messages or calls happened since they have to silence their devices in the building. Nothing on the screen. "I think they're just fine." Inuyasha answers casually. Inuyasha knows that a few days ago that Rin gone into labor earlier because she was carrying twins. So, there's a possibility that she'd be delivering before Kagome. As such they have three new members in the family.
-One Month Later-
It's the middle of the night, Moroha is a little fuss and cries from her nursery crib. Inuyasha flicks his one ear to sense his daughter's distress. Moroha is wearing a pink onesie with an M on it. Her blank hair grew a little bit and her brown eyes has begun to give her a sight to get used to. He silently gets out of his side of the king size bed in their bedroom of their casual home in the neighborhood. He walks over to look to see her trying to reach for him. Inuyasha, despite being tired from all of the duties since Kagome is exhausted from feeding her for a month. "Don't worry, Moroha. I'm here." He quietly spoke to her as he picks her out of her crib. Being a dog demon he can tell what's wrong in an instant. "Looks like you need a drink. Come on." He carries her in his arms to the kitchen and does his task to get a bottle ready for her. Once prepared, he takes a sit in the rocking chair in the living room and gently feeds her while trying to stay awake for Kagome's sake.
After a few minutes, Moroha's bottle is almost empty, so Inuyasha knew that it's time to burp her. He raised her to his shoulder gently and pats her carefully until he hears a cute sound coming out of the baby's mouth. He couldn't help but smile with a soft chuckle at that moment. Moroha yawns and falls asleep again. 'Please stay asleep for your mother's sake. She needs her rest.' He thought to her. Before going to bed, Inuyasha can tell that her diaper is clean from any stinky substance. As such, Kagome was able to change her before going to sleep. Inuyasha carries her back to their room and places her into her crib and goes back to his side of the bed. When he's about to go to sleep, "Did Moroha wake you up?" Kagome voice weakly asks him without turning her head to face nor opening her eyes. Inuyasha nods his head. "She wanted her bottle. Nothing more. Go back to sleep." He responds as he wraps his arms around her waist to make her feel protected.
End of Flashback
Inuyasha runs Kagome's back since they're in the nude after they little make out session. "I'll never forget those times before our jobs went of their fucking way to separate us individually." Inuyasha said in mild frustration. Kagome nods because she can't really say anything in return. Inuyasha can sense how upsetting it is on her. "What are we going to do, Inuyasha?" Kagome asks him without looking at him in the eye.
"I don't really know Kagome. Just hearing about Moroha's condition is making my demonic instincts is telling me to put our mission on hold and take care of her and you." Inuyasha answers her question as he pulls her onto his chest while stroking Kagome's long black raven hair. "I want to do it too, but you know that Sesshomaru won't allowed it. He made it clear that I do this to catch the terrorist that hacked the school." She nuzzles her head under his chin.
Inuyasha growls pleasurably to calm Kagome down. "Let me talk to him to see rather or not he'll let this slide until Moroha gets better." He tries to cheer her up. Soon enough his cell phone vibrates. Inuyasha turns his side to reach the phone and see that it's brother. "Speak of the Devil." He pressed answer.
"Hey." Inuyasha simply said to his brother.
"Inuyasha, I just want to make sure that Kagome's ok. I've been trying to get a hold of her." Sesshomaru said on the other line.
Inuyasha turns around to see her asleep now. He stealthily gets off of his bed to go to the kitchen. "She's with me. She's worried sick about Moroha." He said to his brother calmly.
"It's no surprise that she'd go to you in a time like this, even if it's against the contract that you two signed." Sesshomaru reminds his coldly.
"Look Sesshomaru, I'm already aware about the consequences and will accept them if we break them. But now's not the time to do so. My daughter's in the hospital and she needs us to take care of her until she's well enough." Inuyasha reasons with him in quiet anger. "How would you feel if your daughters were in Moroha's condition?" He challenges Sesshomaru about parental responsibilities.
Sesshomaru paused for a split second. "They're half demons and they never get sick." He arrogantly responds. "Don't forget Sesshomaru, they're half human as well. So there's a possibility that their demon heritage won't be enough to fight it." Inuyasha explains to him. "Listen, for now one of us will be with Moroha while the other does the task at hand. As such the one taking care of Moroha will have to do remote learning." He suggests in the end.
"I'll consider it and let you know in the morning. In the meantime, make sure that Kagome and Moroha are together." Sesshomaru answers before hanging up. Inuyasha sighs as he turns off his phone. He walks back into the bedroom to see Kagome is still asleep. Just seeing her in his bed was more than enough to ease his stress. He doesn't waste another second before getting under the covers and spoons her from behind so protectively.
The next morning, Inuyasha wakes up five minutes before his alarm goes off. He sees Kagome still sleeping like the dead. He can't help but smile fondly. He picks up his phone and puts on his shirt and pale red sweat pants and goes to the kitchen to make some coffee. While he puts the water into the machine, his phone vibrates instead of a music tone. He sees it's his brother.
"Morning." He simply said after pressing the answer button. "Morning to you too, little brother." Sesshomaru mocks back to him, hoping to piss Inuyasha off. "I just woke up. Kagome's asleep." Inuyasha said to him with little humor in his voice. "As such, Rin will take over her task. Hope that will ease her stress." Sesshomaru explains his reason over the phone.
Inuyasha seems skeptical about this. "Does Rin know about the field that Kagome teaches at the school?" He questions his brother. "Rin is very intelligent. She knows about the field. Let Kagome know that she can be with Moroha." Sesshomaru answers before hanging up. That alone made Inuyasha relieved. He puts the coffee grind into the filter and starts the machine.
Kagome moans as the smell of the coffee sneaks into the room. She turns to her side to see that Inuyasha is gone. She pushes herself up to sit up in the bed, and then puts on Inuyasha's red bathrobe since she's naked. "Inuyasha?" She calls out to make sure he's in the house. "Don't worry, I'm here with coffee." Inuyasha calls back as he pours two mugs of coffee and places them on the kitchen island. "Cream or sugar?" He asks as Kagome takes a seat at the kitchen island. "Cream please." Kagome requests him with a smile.
Inuyasha goes into his fridge to get the coffee creamer bottle. "Here you go." He sets the bottle next to her with a mug that has her name on it. "You know me too very." She smiles as she pours a small amount into the mug to change the coffee's color. Inuyasha chuckles. "Of course there are things that need to be taken care of." He sits next to her.
"Like what exactly?" Kagome asks after taking a sip of the warm drink. "I was just on the phone with Sesshomaru, and he told me that Rin will take over your mission for the time being." Inuyasha said to her, waiting for her reaction after what he found out. "Oh, I bet Rin must've sweet talked to him to make it happen." Kagome comments with a snicker. Inuyasha couldn't help but laugh at the remark.
"From the way he talked to me over the phone must've been that. I'm too tired to realize it until you mentioned it. So you're free to be with Moroha." He wraps his arm around her waist. Kagome smiles with tears of happiness in her chocolate brown eyes. "I will have to thank your brother for letting me do this." She hugs him. Inuyasha returns with the hug with his own arms. "We need to get ready for the day. I'll head back to my place and tell Moroha the news. Make sure Rin knows what she has to do while she's taking over." Kagome said to him. Inuyasha kisses her eagerly, just for a short minute. "Let's finish our coffee and get going."
