I AM NOT THE OWNER OF THE PJO VERSE

The sound of music billowed in the cool night air. Apollo played his lyre as the muses sung the praises of the gods.

Everyone was socializing, drinking and engaging in countless other frivolous activities all but 2, the man and woman of the day. Helios and Rhodes. The former heartily laughed and the latter wore a radiant smile upon her face.

After years and years of waiting, a wedding was held and the 2 couldnt be happier, little known to either their happiness was to be short lived.

But for now, let us leave the newlyweds to their happiness as we cross the Agean to the east and the city that would one day, become to great city of Troy.

Though, right now it was nothing but a blind man knelt before a wooden effigy of Pallas Athena. Struck blind by the radiance of a divine object, Ilus, founder of Troy, well versed in the ways of the gods as he was cast thanks to the heavens.

The statue was later named the Palladium, the heart of Troy, so it was said that as long as the Palladium stayed within the walls of the city Troy would never fall.

And so begins our story, the story of Troy, a story of love, gods, power and the city that rose and fell not once but twice

The gentle wail of a newborn broke the suffocating silence permeating the air. Helios waited anxiously outside the ward then held both his wife, and newborn son, waiting, hoping the hear news of his love and his child.

A door creaked open and Helios looked up to see Apollo walk in wearing a solemn expression upon his face.

The Titan of the Sun, knowing what had become of his wife fell to his knees, let out a soul shattering wail of pure despair and began to sob.

The world felt his sorrow that day, the sorrow of a lost love, the sorrow of a man who had lost his everything.

His only solace lay within the small bundle in his arms, one final gift from his beloved. The babe lay in his arms, blissfully unaware of the world around him, peacefully sleeping. And that was when his eyes snapped open revealing an eye of brilliant sea green and another of blinding white.

Helios knew he was not long for this world. Not without Rhodes, but seeing this child, the best of both him and his wife, he found it in himself to live a little longer, if only to help raise his son.

Perseus, now in the form of a young boy, yet having only been alive for a matter of days, so is the nature of young gods, stood before the figure of his father as his father explained the nature of the powers he'd inherit from both him and his now deceased mother.

"You see Perseus, your mother was a daughter of the sea, a child of Poseidon and Amphtrite thus you shall inherit the power of the Sea" his father stated.

Perseus merely nodded along and took in what his father was saying.

"And, as a child of mine, my firstborn in fact, you shall inherit my power, the power of the sun, heat, light and other such abilities related to the sun" His father continued.

Perseus began to drift away as his father spoke of the history of the Greek world and the lineages of the many great royal houses of the city states.

"Son, are you listening?" questioned his father.

"Wha-?" The young god uttered in surprise.

Helios merely smiled at his son, oh how similar he was to his mother, his beloved. Everything, from the way he acted to the way he carried himself was all his mother, and his eyes, oh his eyes the strangest and yet most beautiful part of him. One, sea green just like that of the grandparents he was yet to meet and another of the most stunning white.

He knew his time in this world was limited, of that he was sure but he went on for the sake of his son.

Some time Later

Perseus knelt by the bedside of his father as his father let out a labored breath.

"My son, my time has come, my time in this world is over it's time for me to go"

"But father-"

"No my boy, I've known for many years that my time was limited, after your mother died I wanted nothing more than to fade, if only to see her once more."

"But-"

"Let me speak, I will fade no matter what you say or do, my only regret was that I never managed to spend more time with you"

His father let out another labored breath and his form began to flicker and he began to cough.

"I love you my son, I hope that you can rise up to be better a better man than your father" and with that his fathers form flickered and faded.

That was when the first tears began to fall, Perseus fell to his knees and sobbed.

In his grief he didn't notice the dispersing energy from his fathers demise being sucked into his body.

He merely curled into a ball on the floor and cried himself to sleep.
