CHAPTER 7
The next morning as she sat next to Anthony on the plane, Erin's thoughts started to drift.
My father's wedding is tomorrow. And I got married before him. How in the heck am I going to tell him about this?
She looked over at Anthony who was seated next to the window. Feeling her eyes on him he turned to look at her, his face smiling.
He had been incredibly affectionate since she said she wanted to stay married.
It was as if she had given him permission to do so by making her decision.
Holding her hand as they raced through the airport because they were running late to get to their gate.
Nuzzling her neck as they waited in the uncomfortable hard chairs before boarding.
"What's on your mind, toots?" he asked her playfully as he leaned in to kiss her.
"Anthony!" she hissed pretending to be annoyed as they were surrounded by a planeful of people. But secretly she enjoyed his affection. Jack had never been one for much PDA.
She pushed him away halfheartedly and sighed. "I'm just thinking maybe we should wait to tell my Dad. About us."
Anthony nodded thoughtfully. "Yeah, makes sense. No need to turn the spotlight on us for his big day, right?"
"Exactly…" Erin trailed off.
Anthony studied her, "Wait, are you scared to tell 'im?"
Erin bit her lip hesitantly.
"You are scared! Look at you," Anthony chuckled. "Mrs. Big Bad Assistant District Attorney, scared of her father." He teased her.
"I am not." Erin said defiantly. "I just…"
"All right. All right, well when do we tell him then?"
Erin sighed again. "Um, maybe at the Sunday family dinner? He said they were staying in the city for their honeymoon and that they would be at Sunday dinner as usual."
"Sounds like a plan to me."
"You're so calm and cool about this whole thing." Erin shook her head in amazement.
"Whaaat? I'm not the one scared of him." Anthony replied with a smirk.
Erin swatted him with her in flight magazine.
"Oh my gosh, what are we gonna do when we go back to the office?!" Erin cried out as she thought of their workplace.
Anthony shrugged. "We tell them?"
Erin glared at him.
"Hey look how cute you are when you get mad," he grinned.
"Wait until we get off this plane…" she threatened him.
A/N: sorry this was a short one. I'm juggling this story along with the Baker and Commissioner series (The Discovery). These are going to intersect next chapter. Stay tuned!
"Oh yeah Baby, bring it. I like to play rough," he winked at her and Erin blushed three shades of red as she swatted him with the magazine again.
