Written for Remadora microfics day 7: 100 word challenge. Tragedy. Andromeda Tonks measures her life in numbers.
Ten fingers, ten toes. Pink hair, a button nose. Gleaming, bleary eyes.
Andromeda holds her newborn and marvels at the precious life she and her husband created. Ted kisses mother and daughter, beaming.
Seven broken bones, three lacerations, a life snuffed out.
Nymphadora's eyes are unseeing and her body is cooling. Andromeda's baby, forever her baby, is gone.
The corpse next to her daughter's has nothing to say for itself, as usual.
Nine Outstandings, two Acceptables, one Troll. Better than his mother.
"Would they be proud?"
Andromeda wishes Teddy would stop asking.
She's proud, and she's all he has left.
