It was the next day. The sight from the Temple seemed normal except for one thing. Everything was silent, as if the people of this world had vanished. The only sound to be heard was the wind.

All of the parents were gathered together in one of the family's rooms, each trying to figure out what was happening.

But outside, in the courtyard, Minako, Makoto, Rei, Ami, Luna and Artemis were discussing what Minako and Luna had seen the night before.

(Rei) Are you sure about that? This is Usagi we're talking about. Sure, she is pretty sensitive, but changing the form of her rod? That seems pretty impossible. It's not like the rest of us can't do that.

(Makoto) But we each have special abilities. And think about it, every now and then, we all discover new abilities, what if this is her new ability?

(Ami) Even so, how could she do something like that over night? We have to ask her about this.

After hearing footsteps coming from inside, they look to see Usagi running towards them.

(Usagi) Guys, come quick, it's Chibiusa!

(All Together) WHAT!?

The five of them go back to the Tsukino's room and there she was, just sitting there, like nothing was wrong.

(Chibiusa) Oh, hey everyone!

Each of the five girls took turns hugging their small friend from the future.

(Usagi) Chibiusa, why did you come back? It's dangerous here.

(Chibiusa) Well, that's why I'm here. Daddy wanted to speak with all of you, but he couldn't, so he gave me this letter for you.

Chibiusa then handed a white envelope to Usagi.

She opened the letter and read it aloud for everyone in the room to hear.

Dear Past Usako,

I and your future self, Neo Queen Serenity believed that it would be best if you six were better suited for what has come to Earth in your time. Those things you're seeing are ancient beings from long ago. They are all linked to a hive mind.

In ancient times, right before the Golden Kingdom and the Moon Kingdom started the war, there was a third kingdom, but it was not called such. They were called the Orokin Empire. This "Empire" didn't exist before it made a transmission from Eris, a

small planet that is just beyond the solar system, the closest planet being Pluto.

The empire was sending distress signals to both Kingdoms and each sent a probe to figure out if the Orokin were really on Eris or if it was a trick from the other side. What we found there . . . even I still shiver at the images that were sent back to our

ancestors. The planet was slowly being ripped apart by a biological Infestation.

The signal kept sounding until one day, it stopped for good. This sent both Kingdoms into a panic and ended up unifying them once more. But, by this time the Infestation had sent Infected probes back to the Kingdoms and slowly, the Infestation

planted a seed in each kingdom, one on Earth, one on the Moon. Researchers were able to take some Infected and use the tissue samples from the Infestation and combine it with the Technology of both of the Kingdoms and create something they

called "Warframes". One was given to each of your ancestors. A suit of armor that shone White and Gold. The white and Gold signified the union of the two Kingdoms. After many fought battles and many casualties, your ancestors and a few others

were able to harness the mystical powers of the warframes and eradicate the Infestation that was sent to Earth and the Moon. After this, researchers from both planets created a weapon they believed so powerful, it could destroy the Infestation,

unfortunately destroying Eris with it. In another collaboration, a remote controlled squadron took the weapon to Eris and detonated it as close to Eris's surface as they could. Scientists then looked at Eris after the explosion occurred and saw that over

half of Eris was gone and so was the Infestation. After celebrations on both celestial entities concluded, the Warframes were locked away in a secret location on Earth, in a place that no one would ever find them. But now, it seems that the Infestation

has returned and is decimating the human population. This only starts though, after the Infestation has taken over Japan and started spreading uninterrupted to the nearest Countries, South Korea, China and Russia.

Now that the explanation is done, here is the hard part.

There is no way to put this simply, but you six have to exterminate the Infestation, by yourselves.

Everyone became wide-eyed. But Usagi read on, hopefully there was another way to end this.

The Six of you have each been given a Warframe and weapons to utilize in battle. The weapons and abilities of your Warframe will draw power directly from your personal energy so be careful when using a Warframe.

I know this isn't easy, but unfortunately, this is your destiny, to protect the human race. I wish you all the best of luck and my sincerest condolences.

There was a box with the letter. It was a beautiful ruby pin that was in the shape of a rose. It was addressed to Mamoru.

To all their horror though, this meant leaving behind their families and going all over Japan together to defeat the Infestation.

(Usagi) Of all the things the future could tell us, he decided to say "good luck" and "sorry". How are we supposed to just accept this?

Usagi looked at her friends. Each one of them was in a state of shock, but each had tears forming in their eyes.

As if it were planned, Mamoru walked in.

(Mamoru) Hey guys wha-

(Mamoru) What happened?

Usagi, with tears in her own eyes, just gave the letter and pin to him

(Usagi) Just read it.

It only took a minute for Mamoru to read it before he let the letter drop to the ground.

(Mamoru) Usako... I... I don't understand... WAIT, when did you get this!?

(Usagi) Just now from Chibiusa.

(Mamoru) But... She's gone.

(Usagi) Probably was told to leave after we opened the letter. So she wouldn't see us like this.

Her voice was cracking every time she spoke. Then she let the tears flow in Mamoru's arms.

After an hour of letting the reality of their situation sink in, they realised something else they would have to do. They would have to tell their families that they were leaving.

After careful discussion, they didn't want to leave their families in the dead of night. They wanted it to be a ceremony to remember their families.

It was Usagi and Mamoru who broke the news to the families. They did it two days before they were to leave. They announced it in a meeting with all of the families present. All of the Sailor Guardians were present as well

(Usagi) -and that's why all of us have to go... I'm... I'm so sorry you have to hear this.

(Grandpa Hino) Wait, wait hold on... where are you all going? Rei... do you really have to do this?

This was the first time even Rei had ever seen Grandpa Hino

From next to Usagi, Rei just silently nodded.

Then Ami's mother, Saeko Mizuno, stood up.

(Saeko) But why? Why do YOU have to save the world again? Why can't you just stay here and we can figure out another way! There has to be another way right?

(Usagi) I'm sorry, but there is no other way. We are the only ones with the power to eradicate this enemy.

(Ikuko) BUT WHAT ABOUT YOU!? You're our children! You shouldn't be risking your lives at your age! You're all still just teenagers!

(Makoto) DON'T YOU THINK WE KNOW THAT!

The room was silent

(Makoto) We are terrified to leave? If we hadn't been told by ourselves from the future, we wouldn't be doing this!

(Kenji) From the future? THAT'S WHY? KILLING YOURSELVES OVER SOME GUY FROM THE "FUTURE"!?

(Usagi) It's true. A future version of Mamoru contacted us and told us our mission to save everyone! I don't care if you don't believe me, go ahead! But know this! Me and your daughters are going to save the world and EVERYONE in it because that is what we are here to do!

After refocusing on the entire group, Usagi saw that there was a range of emotions

(Usagi) I know that this hurts, but why should we sit back and let the entire world die because of something we could've prevented.

(Usagi) We are the Sailor Guardians and we will fight for peace, justice and the safety of the world!

(Usagi) We will leave tomorrow at sun down so that we can spend one more day with our families. I know its tough, but we will have to go.

Afterwards, the girls all went to the only empty room and slept there because everyone was still begging their children not to leave.

The day that followed was treated as a farewell party. And in the evening, the girls and the families were at the gate.

Parents and grandparents were hugging their children as tightly as they could, never wanting to let go. Both parents and children were full of tears the heartbreak was felt and everyone gave in.

After a while of saying goodbye, the girls looked back at their families one last time, just to save the image into their memories.

After the gates closed behind them. They each transformed into the suits of armor known as Warframes.

For Usagi, unlike the white of her usual uniform, her Warframe was all black and gold, and without even searching, she knew the name of it, Excalibur Umbra. There were gold pieces of armor shaped like U's that appeared on her elbows, hips and the back of her helmet. She had fabrics that were woven to the Warframe like a cloak.

For Ami, her Warframe was all white and gold. The top of it's head looked like a small universe that was only contained in glass. Her arms each had a spiral of golf going down them, her forearms each also had long golden rod of magnetic metal.

For Rei, her Warframe was Gold and dark brown, with gold lines flowing from her neck to her legs. Her helmet had a flame on her head that looked similar to a tiara.

For Makoto, her Warframe was black and gold. Her helmet and forearms each seemed to be electrical coils based on the small electric bolts that flew out every couple of seconds.

Minako's Warframe was the only one to look similar to her former self. Her Warframe looked like a woman who lived in the seas from fairy tales. It looked like whoever made the Warframe wanted it to look human based on the frilly looking pieces of armor that fashioned the deep blue Warframe.

Mamoru tapped his pin and then he transformed as well. When he transformed, his Warframe looked like a mix between a samurai and glass. His Warframe was a dark red and black with gold accents to finish. The glass was nearly see through when you looked at him.

But as they admired their looks, they were startled by a voice.

(?) Hello? Is someone there?

(Usagi) Who said that?

The voice sounded robotic, but has a slight human tone.

(?) Hmm? It says that there is more than one of you! What great news!

(Rei) Usagi, I don't think it's a person I think it's coming from the suit itself.

Interestingly, they were fully covered from head to tie in this armor, but inside the helmets, they were still able to communicate through a wireless communication link.

(Ami) I wonder if it is automated, as if the voice plays an audio file when the suit is worn.

(?) (Gasp) I cannot believe what I am hearing! Comparing me to something less than myself! How dare you!

(Usagi) Ok already! Can you just tell us who you are already!?

(?) Oh! My apologies.

On each of their visual monitors, a small, blue cube with light coming from the center appeared on each of their visual monitors.

I am Ordis, a cephalon whose purpose is to serve and guide operators such as yourselves.

(Makoto) Cephalon? Ami, what the heck it this thing talking about?

(Ami) Not sure. I've never heard of something called a cephalon. Ordis was it? Could you tell us what you are?

(Ordis) Certainly! A Cephalon is a digitized life form, given form with light and digital technology, retaining varying levels of human quality and personality from their original pre-digitization selves.

(Ami) Wait, pre-digitization? Wouldn't that mean that you were once human?

(Ordis) Correct, but due to damage to my memory, I am unable to remember who or what I was in my pre-digital life. But none of that matters now. I am here to serve the six of you, seeing as you are all capable of using Warframes.

(Usagi) Good. We might as well introduce ourselves to you as well. I'm Usagi Tsukino.

(Ami) I am Ami Mizuno

(Rei) I'm Rei Hino

(Makoto) I'm Makoto Kino

(Minako) I'm Minako Aino.

(Ordis) I see, so where are we?

(Rei) We're in the Juban district of Tokyo, Japan.

They all waited for a moment.

(Ordis) Strange, I don't recognize that name? Is it a planet? A ship?

(Usagi) Ooooh! Ordis, we're on Planet Earth.

(Ordis) Scanning... odd, it seems to be that there are systems above us in the are they?

(Ami) Do you mean satellites?

(Ordis) Satellites? I am unfamiliar with those as well... but I am able to use my protocols to enter the spaces...

Ordis went silent for a moment.

(Ordis) Ordis is confused... What are all these lights? What has happened to the Earth?

(Ami) What do you mean?

(Ordis) This is not the Earth that I remember. How long have I been inactive?

(Usagi) We don't know. We were only told that these suits of armor were ancient and a lost technology.

(Ordis) I... I see. It has been a while since I was last active. But why have I become active again?

The girls and Mamoru thought it would be odd for their families to hear them, so they descended down the steps as they talked to Ordis.

(Usagi) Well, recently, we were overtaken by some kind of Infestation is what I-

(Ordis) WAIT. Usagi was it? Did you just say a Infestation!?

(Ami) Well, yes. We heard that it came from a planet called Eris that's extremely far from the Sun.

Ordis began to sound uneasy.

(Ordis) Everyone, i'm going to play a small recording from when I was last active. Can you tell me if this is what your "Infestation" does to your people?

A video popped up on everyone's visual monitor that is inside their helmets. The video showed the point of view of another warframe. The Warframe was using an unfamiliar blade to kill infested by the dozen. The video played for a few seconds

before the user pulled a blade of pure energy out of nowhere. It used the blade to continue hacking and slashing infested. The video went on for another minute before it ended.

(Ordis) This, is the infestation. A primal force of unknown quantity, all connected by a hive mind.

(Rei) Why don't we just destroy the hive mind then?

(Usagi) I agree, why don't we? I mean, it seems that in the past, people were able to destroy it once, why not again?

(Mamoru) Because it's probably somewhere out of our reach

(Ordis) Finally! A voice of reason among you! Who might you be?

(Mamoru) I am Mamoru Chiba, Ordis.

(Ordis) Well Mamoru, you are correct! Unfortunately, the hive mind of the Infestation resides on the plant of Eris. Although it looks like a normal planet from afar, once you get close enough, you can see that the Infestation has overtake half of the planet.

(Ordis) Hopefully, the Infestation has not gotten comfortable enough to spread yet.

(Usagi) So how do we fight them with these things? I think mine is too large.

(Makoto) hehe, short.

(Usagi) What was that?

(Makoto) Nothing.

(Ordis) Oh don't worry, this should help.

Suddenly, each Warframe changed to fit each person's body, making each of them fit perfectly.

(Usagi) Oh! Thanks Ordis!

Ordis sighed

(Ordis) I see... This will be like when me and similar cephalons had to guide our operators through the ways of the Tenno lo ago

(Usagi) I was wondering. What do you mean "your operators"? And what are the "Tenno ways"?

(Ordis) Well, you see. Before your Moon and Golden kingdoms. The Solar System, or Origin system as we used to call it, was once ruled by the Orokin Empire. Over millennia, the empire rose to absolute power through their advancements in technology and biology. They were able to make everything that lived bow down to their great and powerful empire. But after so long, they fell after their own creations turned against them and annihilated them. Soon, there was a vacuum of power within the system and the byproducts of the empire, called the grineer faction and the Corpus faction took control over every sector of the origin system.

(Ordis) One thing to note is that one of the things that destroyed the empire were called the "tenno", prepubescent children made immortal by the power of the void who could use their newfound powers to control the armor you wear like puppets.

(Usagi) I'm falling asleep here, can you please get to the point!

(Ami) Usagi! I'm sorry Ordis, please continue.

(Ordis) Although I hate to admit it. Explaining everything now would take a longer amount of time. To get to the point, it is because me and other cephalons were tasked with guiding these children through the origin system and everything that lived in them. We went on so many adventures together... But one day, everything changed. For the first time in the years we had been together, my operator noticed that they were aging. It was an exciting day for them.

But for Ordis... It meant the inevitable was coming. Soon the operators all soon begin to age like normal humans again. After that, they began to lose the power to control the Warframes. Lastly, they permanently docked our landing craft with many other operators on the planet Earth. As the ship cephalons, we mourned that we had outlived our uses, completed our given mission, to serve the operator to the end. But we were happy that our former operators were finally able to find happiness. After that, the descendants of the operators used the helmets of the Warframes to allow us to continue living with the operators.

But we underestimated the descendants of the operators. We all watched, as over decades, the descendants began to build what you know as the Golden Kingdom on Earth and the Moon Kingdom on the Moon. To prevent our collective demise, we transferred ourselves to the systems on the Moon Kingdom through their systems. We had nostalgia when we saw Warframes being made again. But soon, they too were locked away, never to be seen or used again...

But now, it seems that somebody found them and here we are.

(Ami) That was an interesting story, but wouldn't this mean that you are more ancient than even our own ancestors!?

(Ordis) It would appear so

(Minako) We might as well call you gramps!

(Ordis) Please don't.

The group began to walk through the streets as they spoke to Ordis but came to a halt when Ordis learned that they had no idea how to use their abilities.

(Ordis) Well then, since I have the data stored away, allow me to help you learn how to use your abilities. First, Usagi!

(Usagi) Why me...? Ok then, what can I do?

(Ordis) Your Warframe is called Excalibur Umbra. It was the first Warframe ever produced. Your abilities are focused on a balance of offense and defense. Your second and third ability can only be used when there is a target, so we'll have to learn those later. Usagi, I want you to lunge forward at something, but as you do, pretend you are drawing a sword from your hip, but don't actually use your sword.

Usagi did what she was told and a sword of pure energy formed as she pretended to pull out a sword, but went away after she finished the motion.

(Ordis) Good. Now pretend that you are pulling an imaginary sword from your right hand and hold it.

She did what she was told and a sword manifested from her energy and had energy flowing from the guard.

She jumped up and down with it in her hand, but after she stopped, she took the time to admire it in her hand by holding it up to the night sky.

(Usagi) What is it though?

(Ordis) That is Excalibur's ultimate ability, the exalted blade. It is a more powerful blade that holds more power and can send forth slashes of pure destructive energy. Try swinging at it over there.

Ordis was referring to an abandoned car.

After hesitating, Usagi swung the blade at the car and a line of energy matching Usagi's swing went into the car.

Upon impact, the car exploded.

(Rei) Holy crap! This would've been nice for our previous enemies!

(Ordis) You fought the Infestation without Warframes!?

(Rei) Different enemies.

(Ordis) Next, Ami. your Warframe is called Mag. It was made to control the forces of magnetism.

(Ami) Magnetism huh... On what scale Ordis?

(Ordis) Lets see. First, try pulling an object towards you using your mind to concentrate the power and your arm to imagine the object being pulled towards you.

(Ami) Okay...

Ami then looked at Usagi and held her hand out, then she pulled her hand back and felt power flow to her hand and out towards Usagi.

Usagi was then pulled to towards Ami and fell at her feet with is a audible thump.

(Usagi) AMI! Warn me next time you decide to test something on me.

(Ami) Sorry, I didn't know what else to focus on.

(Ordis) Your next two abilities can only be seen when used on enemies, so we'll have to learn those later, but for now, try creating a magnetic field with just your hands.

(Ami) Just my hands? Is that even possible?

(Minako) Usagi just pulled a sword made of pure energy from out of nowhere, I think we're beyond asking what is possible and what is not.

(Ami) True.

Ami then put her hands close together, but her hands spread out a little as a small force was felt by everyone.

(Ami) What is this?

(Ordis) It is an ability that can trap an enemy within a magnetic field or allows you to contain the field yourself.

(Ordis) Okay, now try releasing that magnetic field at a nearby object, not a person.

Ami then launched the force of the magnetic field at a tree with a small, but bright and loud blast.

(Makoto) Holy crap! Ami! Are you okay?

(Ami) Relax, I'm fine.

They all looked at the tree.

The tree had been completely destroyed and only a smoking stump remained.

(Ami) Incredible... How could the Kingdoms relinquish such powerful technology?

(Ordis) It was for diplomatic reasons between the Golden Kingdom and the Moon Kingdom.

(Rei) Alright, I'm next! Ordis, what can I do?

(Ordis) Hmm, how do I say this...

(Rei) What? What is it?

(Ordis) We'll only be able to use two of your abilities as well, but because Ami's are tactical and your are purely destructive.

(Rei) Okay, so what's first.

(Ordis) Simple, imagine your energy becoming a ball of fire and throw that ball of fire at anything non-flammable.

(Rei) OKAY! Here goes nothing.

Rei closed her eyes, she extended her right hand and held it up to shoulder height. A spark ignited in the palm of her hand. The spark then suddenly became a ball of fire.

Rei opened her eyes and threw the fireball at a concrete building, it exploded on impact, leaving a large charred space with many cracks on the wall.

(Rei) Wow...

(Ordis) Okay, this will be a tricky one, but please do not "freak out" as they say in these times.

(Rei) what does that mean?

(Ordis) Like before, imagine that fire, but this time, allow the energy to surround you like a barrier.

(Rei) Are you telling me to set myself on fire!? Won't I just be burning myself?

(Ordis) I know it may sound odd, but please, trust me.

(Rei) Okay...

Rei then closed her eyes again. This time sparks started at her feet and ignited into beautiful red flames.

Rei opened her eyes and yelped but relaxed as she saw that the fire wasn't burning her.

(Rei) Incredible! The flames aren't even hot! They're warm!

(Ordis) This is a defense ability meant to protect you from enemies. Although the flames are warm to you, it will burn anything that touches it.

(Rei) I see, so how do I turn it off?

(Ordis) The same way you activated it, but just like your shutting down the power.

A second later and the fire was extinguished.

(Ordis) Makoto, you're next.

(Makoto) Okay.

(Ordis) Your Warframe is known as Volt. As the name suggest, you have an affinity for electricity and electric based abilities.

(Makoto) Okay, so what can I do any?

(Ordis) First ability, shock. Focus your energy and imagine it as electricity. Build up that electricity and launch it at a nearby target.

(Makoto) Simple enough.

Makoto looked at a nearby wall and focused.

For a few seconds, nothing happened. But after Makoto focused her energy, she launch a powerful bolt of electricity at the wall, leaving a small, but very dark spot on the wall.

(Ordis) Next, channel your electrical energy throughout your body.

(Makoto) O-kay... but what happens?

(Ordis) Once you feel the energy coursing through you, just move around a bit.

At first, Makoto stood there for a second focusing her energy.

Then she moved around faster than any normal human. It was like they were in slow motion, until they were watching her at a normal speed again.

(Makoto) I don't get it. What am I doing.

(Ordis) You were moving at an accelerated speed thanks to your ability.

(Makoto) What's next?

(Ordis) Now imagine that you can shape that electricity into a large shield.

(Makoto) Now this is getting weird.

Makoto focused her energy once again before she threw out a giant shield made of pure electricity.

(Makoto) Wow!

(Usagi) That's so cool Makoto!

(Ami) But how does it keep that shape?

(Ordis) I doesn't. It will keep this shape for about 15 seconds before harmlessly discharging.

As he said this, the shield disappeared.

(Minako) My turn!

(Minako) So, what's this Warframe called? And why is it different from theirs?

(Ordis) Well, simply put, your Warframe was created after the Orokin Empire fell.

(Minako) I see. So what's it called?

(Ordis) Your Warframe was known as Yareli. She was a symbol of rebellion along with a few other Warframes. Yareli was a free spirit that helped those in need. The Warframe is based on a person that wore very similar garments that toyed the grineer in the name of rebellion.

(Minako) Amazing. So what can I do?

(Ordis) Well, all of your abilities are for the battlefield. First, imagine setting a trap, with floating bubbles.

Minako laughed a little

(Minako) Okay, okay, sure.

She stopped laughing and focused.

Then, she sent out a group of five large bubbles that floated in the air.

(Minako) So... What do these do?

(Ordis) Well, these bubbles will home into nearby enemies and make them hover for a while, making them easy to shoot.

(Minako) Cool, what's next?

(Ordis) Next, you'll summon your companion, Merulina.

(Minako) Merulina? What is that?

(Ordis) It is a companion that is able to riden and will take on incoming damage for a little while.

(Minako) How do I summon it?

(Ordis) Imagine your energy becoming a living organism. Then allow your energy to manifest it!

(Minako) You make it sound easy.

Minako then focused for a while and then it was like something came out of water and went below Minako's feet and hovered above the ground. It looked like the mix between a see-through skateboard and a giant, but elegant sea monster.

(Minako) Is this, Merulina?

(Ordis) Correct and all you need to do is disperse the energy to make it disappear.

The creature then became water and splashed the ground.

(Ordis) Your other abilities will be saved for the battle field.

(Ordis) Mamoru? It is your turn.

(Mamoru) I see. So, what is my Warframe?

(Ordis) Your Warframe was known as Gara. She was one of the sole defenders of Earth from something called the Sentients. The Sentients are for another time, but Gara lived and died for one of the few remaining human settlements, known at the time as Cetus.

(Usagi) Wait a minute, did you say "She?

(Ordis) Yes. Gara was a female Warframe that protected the Earth settlement from outside invaders.

Usagi and Minako laughed for a second.

(Mamoru) Ha ha, very funny you two.

(Ordis) Anyway, your Warframe is one that was focused on defense and technicality.

(Ordis) For your first ability, everyone she lay down as to not get cut in half.

Everyone immediately dropped to the floor.

(Mamoru) What now?

(Ordis) Imagine that you have an extremely long, but light sword made of glass, use that sword to slice everything in front of you.

Mamoru focused on his hand., then he slashed an abandoned car in front of him with an odd sound as he swung.

After seeing nothing happen, he turned to Ordis.

(Mamoru) What happened?

(Ordis) Try looking where you swung at.

Before Mamoru could look at the vehicle, the part he sliced at slid off of the car and onto the pavement.

(Mamoru) Holy shi-

(Ordis) Now then, let's try one more ability.

(Ordis) Imagine you are creating a wall made of glass, but the glass is extremely durable.

Mamoru focused again, but this time he spread out his arms, releasing energy that turned into a glass barrier that was see-through. To deactivate it, Mamoru spread out his arms again and all of the glass shattered and disappeared.

When the glass shattered, it didn't rain down like normal glass. The glass was pure energy and it didn't harm anyone when they touched it.

(Ordis) Now that those are out of the way. Let us find your other friends.
