*Years Ago, Late Afternoon - Goku and Chi-Chi's House*

Everyone was outside of someone's house, silently crying, grieving and whimpering for the death of their friend. Their names were Piccolo, Krillin, Tien, Yamcha, Puar, Bulma, Yajirobe and Vegeta. Bulma was holding her child, who was also crying.

Inside of the house, there were three people crying next to someone's dead body. Their names were Chi-Chi, the Ox King and last but not least… Gohan.

"G-Goku…. No…." Chi-Chi cried next to her husband's dead body.

"D-Daddy….?" Gohan looked at his father's dead body before screaming, "DADDDDDDDDDYYYYY!"

Goku has died…. He stood tall against the mightiest of foes… However, he was no match for the virus within his heart.

...

Though they were sad, everyone that was close to their friend continued to live peaceful times after Goku's passing. However, several months later, two mysterious monsters appeared on an island to the south and started destroying cities. Humanity was in danger and at its edge.

The Z-Warriors rallied together and went up against the deadly duo, but none of them (not even the prince of all saiyans) stood a chance!

Piccolo was the first to fight… and the first to fall. Next was Vegeta, and Tien, and Yamcha, then Chiaotzu... lastly Krillin... All of them lost their lives during the futile battle.

Humanity had lost its most powerful warriors and now were driven into several years of fear as the devils that had destroyed most cities for fun were roaming around the globe, only a handful were left to keep the embers of hope alive.

This is how our story begins... In a different world... A world without Goku…

*Thirteen Years Later - Present Day*

A lone figure soared through the bleak sky, a heavy sense of responsibility weighed down on him. His eyes, once filled with youthful exuberance, now held the weight of a world forever changed by tragedy. The ruins sprawled below him were a haunting reminder of the devastation that had gripped the once-thriving city.

Buildings now stood as crumbling remnants, their jagged edges jutting out from the earth like scars of a wounded land. The streets, once bustling with life, were now empty. Broken windows, shattered glass, and tattered debris painted a grim portrait of a civilization that had fallen to its knees.

His gaze, a mix of sorrow and determination, scanned the desolation below. His eyes traced the outlines of what used to be homes, businesses, and places of laughter. Memories of laughter and warmth filled his mind, contrasted by the reality that those moments were now buried under layers of rubble.

The wind rustled through his hair, carrying with it the echoes of a world that had lost its song. As he continued his flight towards Capsule Corp, his thoughts were a tumultuous blend of anguish and purpose. He knew he couldn't change the past, but he was committed to safeguarding the future.

With each beat of his powerful wings, he propelled himself forward, the ruins shrinking beneath him. As he neared Capsule Corp, the once-familiar headquarters of innovation and ingenuity, he caught a glimpse of its metallic frame, tarnished by time and neglect. Even in the midst of desolation, the building held an air of resilience, a testament to the human spirit's refusal to yield entirely.

"At least Bulma and her son Trunks are still alive," He said with a hopeful smile, not wanting anything bad happened to them.

This lone figure was Gohan… The Son of the deceased Goku and the widowed Chi-Chi… He has grown into a young adult, filled with justice and righteousness. Due to the deaths of his friends, especially his mentor Piccolo, he was the only warrior left alive to go up against the android threat duo. During that time, he has also become a Super Saiyan, a warrior of legend. However, him fighting against the androids caused a strained-family-ship between himself and his mother.

Luckily, he was able to find a family in Bulma and her son, Trunks, "Hope I won't be a bother to them today," He said to himself flying towards the ground before landing on it with his feet.

Quickly taking notice of the Capsule corp building still standing but not as good as it once did, Gohan slowly descended down with a light thud of his feet, before looking around and walking towards the entrance.

He then gently knocks on the door and waits for someone to open it.

The door creaked open, revealing a teen with lavender hair on the other side reminiscent of his mom.

"Gohan? Is that really you?"

Gohan nodded, offering him a small smile. "Yeah, Trunks. It's me. I'm sorry for dropping by unannounced, but I wanted to make sure you and your mom are okay."

Trunks' expression softened, and he stepped forward to embrace Gohan in a tight hug. "Oh, Gohan, it's good to see you. Come in, come in. Mom will be thrilled to see you."

*The Capsule Corp*

Gohan stepped inside, the weight of his responsibility lightening momentarily in the presence of a friend. The interior of the house was just as he remembered it, a mix of technology and comfort that was distinctly Capsule Corp.

"I heard You've been doing everything you can to protect us, haven't you?"

Gohan nodded solemnly. "Yes, I've been training hard to be prepared for anything. I know I can't replace my father, but I want to make sure no one else has to suffer like we did."

Trunks placed a hand on his shoulder, offering him a reassuring smile. "You're doing an amazing job, Gohan. We're all grateful for what you're doing. And don't worry about being a bother. You're always welcome here."

Gohan smiled at his friend, "Thanks Trunks."

Even after everything that has happened, Gohan was still kind, sweet and cheerful and was able to make some friends. He saw Trunks like a brother to him, despite the fact that they're not related by blood.

"So, how are you and your mom doing, Trunks?" He asked the 14 year old.

"She is still full of energy I say, as far as one can be given our situation, currently she is working on some things on her lab"

"Yeah, that's Bulma for ya. Hopefully it's something useful against the androids. Fighting the two of them alone isn't working... My dad was always able to defeat all of his foes by himself... except for his long-lost brother. He had Piccolo to back him up at the time. Point is... I wish there was another way to stop them for good..."

"I can help you fight Gohan" Trunks said clenching his fists "I know I can't turn super saiyan yet but I can help you train! I know I can!"

Gohan looks at the young boy and sees determination in his eyes. On one hand, he doesn't want to put a child, let alone Bulma's child into danger. She would kill him! However, on the other hand, he could at least teach Trunks how to fly and defend himself. He can also teach him how to become a Super Saiyan.

"Trunks... Okay, I'll do it. You and I will train and stop the androids together."

He was the son of the prince of all saiyans after all so he had to have potential, there were not many choices for a peaceful life right now.

"Really?" Trunks asked, excitement on his face.

"Really, really." Gohan assures him with a smile.

"Thank you, Gohan! You won't regret this, I promise!"

After the talk, the two heard footsteps coming from the underground lab.

"You boys having a nice conversation there?"

Despite being much older now , the capsule corp scientist had retained much of her youthful appearance, looking basically the same as before all the chaos.

"Oh! Hey Mom!" Trunks said with a smile.

"H-Hey Bulma! It's been awhile" Gohan replies as well.

"Hey Gohan, so glad to see you here again. You got quite tall and bulky now, I barely recognized you"

The lone warrior blushes a bit but quickly hides it when Trunks looks at him, "U-Um, thanks Bulma. Y-You still look nice as always."

"Yeah, not bad for someone in her sixties" She said with a lonesome sigh.

"Heh, y-yeah"

Trunks chuckles a bit before standing up, "Hey, Mom! Can Gohan stay here tonight, please?"

"A-Are you two sure? I don't wanna be a bother."

"What do you mean a bother? You are never a bother Gohan, feel free to stay here anytime our home is your home" She said with a smile.

"Heh, thanks guys." He said with a smile.

"We've got plenty of room here, but, you know... No extra beds, so...we'll have to share."

Gohan looks bewildered while Trunks looks pretty shocked. They couldn't believe what Bulma just said something like that.

"I'm good..." The lone warrior said quickly, not wanting to say or do anything stupid with Trunks around.

Bulma shakes her head with a smirk "I meant you and Trunks would have to share, the beds are big you know?"

"Oh! Oh, I-I knew that, haha!" 'Oh thank Kami!' Gohan was very relieved to hear that.

'Mom, why are you trying to embarrass me like that?!' Trunks thought to himself.

"So, who's hungry?"

"ME!" Both of the boys said in excitement.

At least in times like this they still manage to get food, not as much as a healthy world would but it was enough to go by the days and she wasn't afraid of sharing.

After Bulma made some dinner, the boys started eating their food, with Gohan eating his at a fast pace.

"Hahaha, just like your father," Bulma said with a smile while watching Gohan eating his food

Saiyans always did eat more than humans ever could, they were like vacuum cleaners, piling up plates upon plates worth of food like it was nothing.

"Heh, my dad would've told me to slow down if he was still here," Gohan replies with a weak small smile.

"No he would not, he would devour all this in the time I take to blink" Bulma said, remembering the days she saw Kid Goku eat after the martial arts tournament.

"Seriously?" Trunks asked in shock, "Your father must've been amazing, Gohan."

"Heh, that's my dad for ya."

"You two eat a lot too that's for sure, be if full saiyan or half"

The two of them while they were enjoying their meals. Night finally fell when the moon rose up.

"Welp, we better head for bed," Gohan said, yawning a bit.

"Yeah," Trunks agreed before waving at his mother, "Good night, Mom!"

"Night, Bulma!"

"Night, boys!" Bulma replied, seeing the two head to Trunks' room. She continued to admire Gohan, 'Man, he's so handsome…. If only I could tell him that…. Heh…'

*Trunks' Bedroom*

"Um, s-sorry about that…" Trucks told his friend, still embarrassed of what his mother said, "My mom can be weird sometimes…."

"Eh, it's okay. No harm done." Gohan assures him, "Bulma has always been a flirt in her young days, heh."

"R-Really?"

"Y-Yeah… She did it with Yamcha, Vegeta, even my dad."

"Welp, good thing we don't have to deal with that, right?"

"Heh… Yeah… L-Let's head for bed, now. We got training tomorrow"

"You got it, Gohan!"

The two then put on their pajamas and went to bed, sleeping for the big day ahead of them
