ARC 1: Not ALL As It Seems
Chapter one: A New Generation is born
VOICE OVER: Ah yes the silver millennium, filled with the happiest of its royals and its common people who supported the queen and her family.
What the kingdom didn't want knowing is that they had a horrible dark secret hidden within the wall of their castle, behind the castle walls lived a princess who didn't seem to exist at all, She was taken out of her room on the night of her fourteenth birthday, she was thrown into a secret room where she was beaten everyday and every night until the war broke out with space creatures attacking the kingdom, the messiah named sailor Saturn destroyed the kingdom not knowing she killed her only sibling in the process, She made sure everyone was reborn on earth so there wouldn't be too much calamity
It was a new beginning for the guardians of the future earth queen, as time went on evil kept attacking earth but they failed each and every time. The evil entities were finally defeated thus bringing peace and serenity to earth, The princess of the moon and the prince of earth were married and had their first child named chibiusa (Rini) or serenity the third, they enjoyed their peace and quiet
During that peace and quiet, there was another princess living with them, her name is Samiko Serenity Tsukino-Tomoe. She isn't the last of both clans but she is there, her story starts after the queen and king of earth declared national peace between the universes and above
The kingdom of earth was joyous of the declaration that peace has finally came, The moon Saturn rabbit was reborn and preferred to not to deal with any side of the family, she remembered everything from that day of when the moon kingdom ended
It was almost embedded inside of her mind, she refused to get along with her cousin serenity who was just trying to help her, she at this point was determined to destroy her cousin's life by any means necessary.
Samiko was very kind to children and animals, she had a big heart for the most part, but her being reborn didn't feel right to her. She felt she didn't have the right to have a second chance to be alive, if she died with the moon kingdom then she should be with the rest of her corrupted family on both sides. She suffered the most by being who she was, you see our fearless and hard headed princess Samiko was born out of an affair between her mother who was queen serenity's sister, baby sister mind you and the evil king of Saturn who was desperate for a true heir to his throne. He had Hotaru the future Queen of Saturn with his wife and he had Samiko with the wild party princess of the moon.
You see Queen Serenity the first had multiple siblings, she had 3 brothers and 3 sisters. So she was never alone at all. All the planets were invited to the moon for royal parties and such, The wild party moon princess had the time of her life and got drunk meeting the king of Saturn, the king liked her spiciness and fell in love which started their affair and broke up a friendship between her mother and the queen of Saturn
Thus Samiko was born in July, the king of Saturn disappeared and his wife went into the shadows leaving him to stew in his own regrets.
One day Queen Serenity got cursed by an outside entity and well it wasn't a golden time, she became a tyrant and demanding. Samiko's mother passed away by her own hand because she looked like her father. She grew up without both of her parents and two kingdoms who hated her. The eve of her 14th birthday she was kidnapped by the guards of the moon and put behind a hidden wall in a chamber where the guards under the cursed queen serenity orders to beat her like no other, Finally Queen Serenity Remembered who she was and broke free of the curse.
The war broke out when Queen Beryl attacked the moon with her army, Queen Serenity demanded to know where her niece was, the kingdom stood silent and focused on the war. The Princess of Saturn woke up and destroyed everything in her path, which caused Queen Serenity to send her daughter and her friends to earth to live a peaceful life. Many years have passed and Neo Queen Serenity married the love of her life and had a child named Chibiusa (i call her Rini because i did grow up with the English version of Sailor moon, currently trying to watch all two hundred episodes of the Japanese version.)
Peaceful times were ahead but a new evil was forming in the darkest parts of the universe worse then what the moon kingdom faced and what the kingdom of earth faced. It was time for a new hope, a new hero but can she really fill the shoes of her elder cousin or will her past come to haunt her and ruin her second chance at a normal life?
Now to the present day of crystal Tokyo, the kingdom was thriving and it was happier times, Everyone loved their beloved royal family, the entire kingdom cheered as the royal family was ridden on a horse drawn carriage heading home after a day of press conferences
They arrived home to relax in the family room looking over some paperwork, King Endymion looked at his wife who had her slippers on.
He placed the paperwork on the table and leaned back on the couch
"Usako? Where is Samiko? Shouldn't she be downstairs with us to discuss her future?"
The neo queen had her feet on the table and was relaxed, she had her hands on her stomach
"I have tried to get her out of her room but she has herself locked inside and she has her headphones on.
She doesn't try to connect with us, she is in her rebellious stage. I mean she gets excellent grades, she is great at sports. I don't understand why she doesn't want to talk to us. I feel like there is a deep rooted issue with her and it's keeping her from expressing her emotions or thoughts.
She isn't acting like a normal girl and it is creeping me out. When I agreed to take her in, her parents just didn't care to explain why they wanted to send her away. They just said in a letter that she was our problem and we gotta deal with it. They didn't seem like the caring type of parents, their aura felt all types of wrong.
I want to understand my baby cousin but she doesn't want to let me in and she wants to keep everyone at a distance."
King Endymion walked over to his wife and rubbed her shoulders, placing a kiss on the top of her head
"I am sure Samiko will open up to us sooner or later, after all she is a princess in training. She will need her training to be done soon and learn all she can about who she is. There is a great power in her that's trapped inside, with the proper training she will be a great senshi just like you."
Neo Queen Serenity felt reassured from her husband and was relaxing back into the couch
"I am not sure she wants to follow in my footsteps or anyone's footsteps. She wants to be her own person and not follow the rules that society has in place for her. I just don't know what to do right now with her, when she looks at me it's like she sees an evil person in front of her.
She runs into her room and locks herself in and puts on her headphones. The only time she comes out is to make herself breakfast and leaves directly for school. She stays after school to get tutoring done and has three club meetings a week. She also has two part time jobs. I don't know how she makes time for all of those things. She is overworking herself and it will cause her to catch a cold.
She isn't superman to handle all this work she placed on herself."
King Endymion sighed
"She is a teenager after all Usako, she wants to be independent and go out on her own. I do agree with you though, she can't handle all that responsibility on her own.
She needs proper guidance and she needs to learn how to depend on us, she needs to know we are family and we are there for her until the very end.
We should try to get her out of her room for dinner at least. There are four of us, We should invite your team and their families. We don't have guards like you did in the moon kingdom, all we have is your senshi team.
I am sure she would want to see her friends from school here at home."
Neo Queen Serenity looked at her husband with a smile and got up from her massage chair
"I suppose that isn't a terrible idea. I mean according to her parents she grew up with them since birth and they are in their final days of middle school. High school will be challenging but they can get through it. You go get the stubborn princess out of her room. I will contact the others for our family dinner, this should be a fun evening."
King Endymion went to fetch Samiko from her room, her door was finally unlocked and she was by her desk working on a project quietly to keep herself busy
He was behind her watching her deep in focus and messing around with things, he carefully tapped her shoulder because her headphones were on her ears and she jumped up from her chair at her desk and judo flipped him into a wall by mistake, She took off her headphones and looked to her wall and was in shock, she ran over to help King Endymion out of her bedroom wall
"I am so sorry King Endymion, I didn't know you were behind me! I was so wrapped up in my project that I didn't hear you come in. I am so grounded right now if neo queen serenity sees you plastered into the wall."
she peeled him off the wall and started patching it up carefully with a compound she made from scratch
King Endymion dusted himself off and sat on her bed and coughed
"Samiko, you aren't grounded. You are very strong for your age and very wise.
I came to tell you that we are having a family dinner with Usako's scouts and family members. We heard that you grew up with them since birth, that's a very long time for friendships. Would it be ok if you attended to enjoy the festivities? I know you normally don't attend anything royal and I don't understand why but I will respect your space as you live here and learn and grow.
What do you say? Will you come down from here and join us for dinner?"
Samiko finished patching her bedroom wall and letting it dry for a while, she thought carefully for a whole two minutes before answering. She looked at King Endymion and nodded
"I am not opposed to spending family time with everyone I suppose. I am normally by myself at the dinner and breakfast table back home anyways. I am used to being alone for the most part, when I am alone I focus more on what I need to do for myself."
King Endymion patted her head softly and smiled
"Samiko, you're not alone anymore. You can let us in if you have a problem. We are your family after all. This is your home with whatever you need and want. You are not a burden to us, We want to help you understand things and we don't want to be out of your life before we even get to bond."
Samiko looked at King Endymion going back to her desk
"I understand King Endymion, but i hope you realize i will be moving out on my own by my senior year of high school, me living here is just temporary. I do not wish to burden you guys or ask for help, I want to be independent from what people expect of me.
I know I will never fill the shoes of my elder cousin, if that's what people expect of me they are sadly mistaken. I will lead a normal life without it being interrupted by saving the world before homework and study sessions are done.
My life is my own and I intend to keep it that way for a while. I don't want distractions."
King Endymion looked at his cousin in law and nodded
"Samiko, moving out isn't happening once you get to senior year. You will start learning what you are capable of. We shouldn't let rash decisions affect what could happen in the future. You shouldn't think about moving out now.
I know deep down you have all this locked up potential inside of you but you don't let people see it because you don't want them to know the real and honest you. You are keeping yourself away from what you can be. What's wrong with showing people the real you."
Samiko looked at him with a stern look on her face
"King Endymion, if my friends and other people I meet on the street get to know the real me, a great cosmic misfortune will befall your great kingdom and I don't wish to be held responsible for such an event. I don't want to mess with the natural balance of things, the world is in perfect cosmic order, why disturb the peace and the balance? My true self is a danger to everyone, so it's best not to introduce my true self to others. My friends know me as samiko tsukino-tomoe, a protector of the group and their best friend.
They say I have the biggest heart and will help anyone in need, I never put myself first. They see what i don't see in myself, everyone expects me to follow in Usagi- I mean neo queen serenity's shoes. I can never ever fill her shoes, she will do more than whatever I hope of achieving in life.
I just want to be normal and that's about it. I am not next in line for anything, I never will be in line for anything, I have accepted all my truths and everything under the sun."
King Endymion sighed
"Samiko, you don't have to live up to the expectations that people see of you. I understand it is hard living in our shadows, but you do not have to. You are free to do as you wish and if you have a problem please come to us with it.
You shouldn't juggle everything on your own, you know, having a family means having to depend on them when times get tough and unbearable. I don't know how you balance school, clubs and two part time jobs. You do know that overworking yourself is going to get you sick."
Samiko went to her closet to get some fancy clothes for the family dinner
"King Endymion, I know my place in the world. I am to remain there without any help. I am the lone wolf on both sides of the family so I understand what it's like to be an outcast.
I have my future already planned, I plan to move into my own place when I reach my senior year of high school. Please excuse me while I get changed into something more professional for this family dinner you guys presented to me."
She grabbed a business suit from her closet but he had stopped her from going to change
King Endymion looked at her and shook his head
"I did mention it was a family dinner, not a grand professional business meeting dinner. Where did you even get that business suit from? I see about several in your closet. When usagi's senshis come over, we normally wear formal wear. We wear pajamas and such.
We don't always wear professional clothing in the castle unless we are in fact attending a meeting or weekly press for the juuban city new paper. We are a normal family who do normal things, like have a family sleep over for no apparent reason."
Samiko looked at him with a confused look on her face
"King Endymion, Your family is far from normal. Who has an eighty foot castle in the middle of the city with guards and it sparkles?"
King Endymion looked at his cousin in law with a confused look on his face
"Samiko, please call me Mamoru or Darien. You don't have to call me King Endymion all the time. You have to get comfortable living here and calling us by our regular names that were given to us. We are more than our titles, you know. We are regular people at the end of the day despite our royal titles."
Samiko was in her closet with the door closed so she could change
"King Endymion, you are who you are at the end of the day. You and your wife are king and queen of earth.
I am who I am at the end of the day, I am just a relative who doesn't exist to fit into your world of royalty. I have to live here because my parents refuse to acknowledge my worth and my presence. If it was my choice I would live on my own already away from everyone. I would go completely off the map."
She came out of the closet in silk pajamas and her hair in a messy bun, she also had a pair of her glasses on so she can just have them on for no apparent reason
King Endymion looked at her and blinked
"Where did you even get those expensive pajamas? What's wrong with your eyesight? When was the last time you went to the doctors?!"
Samiko looked at her cousin in law who was panicking because he saw her in glasses
"King Endy- I mean Mamoru-san, I have had glasses since I was child. I go to the doctor's office yearly and have my routine eyes check up. I do not need you to panic, I am fine and in good health. I am on sports teams at school so I don't eat sweets that much.
I have to stay in shape for competitions and such. I stick to salads and other healthy food items. I am constantly working out seven days a week to stay fit. I also over study as well to keep my mind sharp as a tact for the next couple of weeks.
I do get plenty of rest when I am finished with everything I have done for the entire month. I am extra prepared for all of my exams, being so young I already got college offers from overseas and here in Japan. I got academic and sports scholarships lined up for me, so I am already set. I Believe I hear the guests of the hour have arrived. I hear chatter and giggles. I will join you all shortly, give me a minute to prepare myself before I enter the grand hall for this family event."
King Endymion sighed and walked out of her room shaking his head
"Samiko, it's a regular living room. It's not all that grand."
Everyone was relaxed and talking in the family living room waiting for the fun to start
Usagi looked up at her husband who had a concerned look on his face
"Mamo-chan, is she coming to join us? Are you ok? What happened?"
Mamoru looked at his care free wife with a worried look
"Usako, you were right about Samiko. She is hiding something but i don't know what it is though. She has a wall up and she won't let anyone in. She is protecting herself from us. She said she doesn't want any of us to know the real her that's locked away. She said it would cause great misfortune upon our kingdom and she doesn't want to be held responsible if her friends or family or random people know the real her. She wants the world in equal balance, if that means her hiding her true self then so be it for now."
Usagi looked at her husband and sighed
"I will respect her wishes for now and try to communicate with her, let's hope she really joins us for this family fun thing."
Mamoru kissed his wife's forehead
"Usako, she will join us don't worry so much. She is taking time with her pajamas at the moment. We can't be overbearing guardians when she doesn't trust us yet. We have to give her space and she will come around sooner or later."
Samiko was still in her room staring into her mirror, thankfully she closed and locked the door after Mamoru left, She removed the top part of her pajama set and faced her back towards the mirror and sighed
"I remember everything from that time, I wasn't treated fairly and locked away to protect the kingdom. It's no surprise that nobody really remembers me because I was hidden like I was going to cause great misfortune and chaos. I will never ever show my true self to anyone, it would be a waste of time. The moon saw me as a threat to the throne because of my dirty blood.
My life didn't matter back then and it won't matter now, it's best to keep myself locked away. The kamis want me to suffer and I will suffer greatly. I was born out of an affair and I broke up a happy marriage and possibly a family.
I deserve what's coming to me, I shouldn't have been reborn with the others. The kamis have a lot in store for me. I have to outsmart them and live as long as I can so I can face my creator. I do not want anyone involved in my personal matters or battles.
I have my own demons I have to fight but I will pick and choose which demon I wanna fight."
Her back was filled with scars from the moon's past, she wasn't only hidden from the world during that time, she was beaten everyday until her body couldn't take it anymore.
She put on her pajama top and went to join the others, she decided to keep everything buried and to herself. She went to the living room with a brave face and a smile. She sat on the couch waiting for the event to start
Everyone came in and welcomed the newest Tsukino into the castle of Crystal Tokyo, They wondered why wasn't she introduced in the first to give her a warm welcome, Usagi only explained that she just met her baby cousin for the first time in many years and her parents dropped her off with a note saying a bunch of messed up things
Rei who was sailor mars got a weird feeling from the young girl in front of her, she sensed a bunch of mixed emotions, confronting and conflicting emotions but she decided not to read much into it so they could enjoy the evening ahead
Makoto brought snacks and drinks from her bakery so they can enjoy the sweetness
Minako was fresh off her music and fashion tour and needed a break to basically have fun with everyone again, Ami just returned from America from a month-long conference on new cures to prevent aging and mental health.
They brought their baby cousins who basically grew up with Samiko and hoping that tonight will be good. First we see Akiko Hino. Rei's baby cousin who attends juuban junior high with the rest of the friend group.
She has been attached to Samiko since their childhood, they would do everything together like go to the park or Samiko would walk akiko home after school to make sure she was safe. There was a point in their friendship where akiko punched samiko in the eye because of a rare chocolate bar that was only sold once a year
They made up after the bar of chocolate was on her desk the next day with a card with sloppy handwriting saying sorry her bar of chocolate was stolen from her, They shared the bar of chocolate and it was swept under the rug.
Next we see Maiko Aino, the love goddess of the group. She is the baby cousin of Minako Aino aka Sailor Venus. She always sensed more than a friendship between akiko and samiko, but she knew that they would both deny it or get flustered if something like that was mentioned. She knew samiko always had a soft spot for the miko but she wouldn't show it because she didn't wanna seem weak in front of her friends.
Samiko was the leader of their friend group and showing weakness was a no for her.
We now meet Midori Mizuno, Ami's baby cousin who gets high marks in everything she does. She wants to follow in her cousin's footsteps and become a well respected doctor.
Lastly we meet Amaterasu Kino, Makoto's baby cousin who also has a sparky personality and can throw a mean left hook if someone tries to bully someone else. She loves to bake and does martial arts in her spare time when she isn't helping makoto with the flower and bakery shops, The genes are very strong within the families, the girls all look alike and it's kind of hard to tell them apart. You can tell by the eyes and hair who is who. Their personalities are different from their older cousins.
Samiko looks neither like a Tsukino or Tomoe, her looks have meshed together and she looks different from both sides of her family.
She had silver eyes and brown hair like her mother, her face was fifty-fifty of both parents. She was average height which was about five-four, she was very athletic and academically smart with A's across the board, basically tied with Midori. She wore glasses all the time because of her poor eyesight but she is taking care of that. All and all she was the perfect child who didn't ask for much. She did what she was told to do and on time. Her earth parents didn't accept her lifestyle because they had people following her around everywhere she went.
She had her first love of her life taken away from her because her parents didn't approve of her. The night went without a hitch and everyone seemed to like the new Tsukino, well mostly everyone. Rei was still reading into her aura like it was the Sunday paper.
She was trying to figure out why the girl felt unsure about everything and everyone around her. She felt the girl's aura bouncing around like a pinball machine, so she decided to let it go for the night and enjoy it. Akiko got up and went over to Samiko who was reading a book on quantum physics, she took the book away placing it on the table by the couch her friend was sitting on
"Samiko, we are here to have fun, no? You have your whole life to study this advanced stuff. Can you drop the tough guy act for a while and be normal? Is that so much to ask for?"
Samiko stared at the girl in front of her with a confused look on her face
"Akiko, I am far from normal. I am having fun. Can I have my book back? I like studying.
I have a lot to study for if I want to get into the highest of colleges. I have goals to reach before things happen that are out of my control. Give me back my book right now please? I was on chapter one hundred and I want to finish the book by tonight so I can read another book by six am."
Akiko got on the couch pushing samiko down on it staring into her eyes to capture her attention
"Samiko, Like I said. You have your whole lifetime to study, try to have fun tonight for my sake. I want to see you smile and not scowl like you are about to destroy the planet. You are safe with us and nothing is going to happen if you let loose for once, what do you say? Come out of your turtle shell."
Samiko gulped and her face turned bright pink, her body became sort of hot like a fever
"Akiko, two things. First get off of me and remember where you are. This is something a girlfriend does with her boyfriend if they had gotten into a disagreement. Second thing, just for tonight I will try to have fun for your sake. I suppose one night of no studying won't kill me. I will resume my studies at six am because I was held against my will."
Rei was shocked to see akiko take charge of the Tsukino in front of her, but she was impressed at how she handled it, Akiko wasn't like Rei when it came to yelling or arguing with anyone. She took a more direct approach when it came to dealing with samiko
Usagi brought out the board and card games so they could enjoy the rest of the evening. The evening went without much problems and Samiko actually enjoyed herself for once, she didn't feel like she was an outcast.
She felt like she belonged but kept the wall up just in case of misfortune that may come, After a fun night everyone went to bed, samiko and her friends went to her bedroom
Since the bed was large enough all the girls slept on samiko's bed, Samiko had a couch in her room as well against the wall, so she decided to sleep on the bed
She didn't feel like being sandwiched in with everyone, She continued reading her book while the others slept
Once she finished, she just stared off into space wondering where her true love had gone and if she was ok. She missed her so much that it hurt, after her first love was well her first time so it was special to her at least. The day came crashing down and her parents took her away.
She kept her heart closed to any affection and kept building the wall one brick at a time. She finally fell asleep with her back facing her friends who were sleeping on her bed, Akiko woke up in the middle of the night seeing samiko asleep on her couch, she walked over to the sleeping girl carefully turning her over to see her face
"Why are you so keen on completing your goals you set for yourself? What happened to the Sammie I grew up with? Why is she locked away for? What happened? You know someone is very worried about you and you don't even care."
She crawled into samiko's arms which she opened carefully and laid peacefully on top of her without waking her. The next morning Samiko woke up feeling heavy, her alarm didn't go off like it was supposed to. She grabbed her watch and looked at the time
"The sun isn't even up yet for my morning jog. Why do I feel so heavy? Did I gain weight overnight? Impossible. I eat salads and fruits and other veggies. I even drink veggie shakes . I shouldn't feel this heavy."
She looked down at the sleeping miko in training on top of her, her heart was racing wondering when akiko slithered into her arms and slept on top of her like it was nothing.
She knew death was near her if she moved even the slightest inch or breathed the wrong way. It's like having a cat, it would be disrespectful to move from your spot if a cat claimed you. She stayed in her position, scared of moving and waking up akiko. Akiko started to stir in her sleep knowing full well how Samiko would react to this, But she didn't care and slept in peace with a smile on her face.
Samiko gave in and fell back asleep, ever since they were grade schoolers Akiko always felt safer sleeping near Samiko for whatever reason and she accepted it because she didn't want to make akiko cry. The one thing she promised herself is that she would never ever make akiko cry because she was acting like a huge jerk.
Everyone else woke up to eat breakfast, they wondered why akiko and samiko were taking to wake up from sleeping. They all carefully went into Samiko's room to see what was going on and what they saw was adorable. Akiko's head was under Samiko's chin and samiko was holding her close.
Maiko took out her cell phone and took some pictures to add to her collection for a memory photo album for when they get old and gray. The two girls started to stir from their sleep and everyone ran back to the kitchen to finish their breakfast. The two girls finally woke up and they yawned very cutely, Akiko just stared at Samiko who was rubbing her eyes to get herself fully awake
"Morning Sammie, did you sleep well?"
Samiko stared up at the ceiling not to give akiko direct eye contact
"I slept fine, but when did you slither into my arms last night? I remember leaving you all on my bed while I had the couch. You know I like my personal space and I am not used to this type of affection from anyone. Didn't I tell you last night that this type of thing is for couples? The cuddling and pillow talk is for the sappiest of couples?"
Akiko sighed and poked Samiko's forehead softly
"Samiko, you shouldn't distance yourself from us. What's wrong with getting to know the real you? I know the real you, she is very scared of coming out to the world and being happy. What happened to you? You have become this empty shell of a person over the years without any explanation."
Samiko refused to look at her
"Akiko, come to me in a year and half after you lost your first and true love without any explanation. You would be like me if you lost the love of your life because her parents didn't like you. I don't want to talk about it anymore, let's get ready and join the others for breakfast."
They both got ready and brushed their teeth and joined the others after. Everyone saw how tense the two were towards each other as they ate in total silence.
Samiko did the dishes and decided to go on her morning jog. After all, even though it was the afternoon, she saw the clouds forming and had her hoodie on with headphones blasting.
She didn't care if a storm was coming or not, she wanted to jog and clear her mind. The fresh air cleared her mind and she sat on a bench staring up at the sky questioning her life in her mind
"What's wrong with getting to know the real me? There is a lot wrong with people getting to know the real me and I don't want to be held responsible for a kingdom's destruction if people knew the real me. I don't even know the real me and that is what's best for the balance of the universe. They don't remember the darker past of the moon kingdom and that's fine with me, the kamis made sure when everyone was reborn that I took the burden of remembering everything so I can destroy me and make my life a living hell.
They never knew I existed, they didn't know I was destroyed along with the kingdom themselves. The harsh punishment I kept getting everyday and night so that way I would be weaker then i was, i was treated like an outcast.
The past is bound to repeat itself all over again and I am meant to be six feet under along with the relatives that didn't care about me during the moon kingdom. I didn't mean to cause any type of pain by being born to Saturn and the moon, I caused the destruction of the entire galaxy.
There are days I just want to run away from the crystal palace and be on my own so that way I do not cause a second coming of war. The world is on my shoulders and I have to let it weigh me down so I don't breathe. I am who I am at the end of the day, a walking breathing curse. A waste of space and a burden on everyone.
The devil is calling me and if he is breathing down my neck to surrender I would in a heartbeat. I am the forgotten princess of both planets so I will be forgotten here as well."
She took a moment to notice where she was, she was in a couples park so she got up and ran deep into a forest, She stopped running and saw an abandoned cabin but it was fancy looking, she went inside and dried off
Back at crystal palace, everyone was in the family room waiting for samiko to return home since it was raining
Maiko was next to akiko who was very quiet and playing with her fingers
"I want to know what happened between you and samiko. I have never seen her like that before. The look on her face was something I didn't like seeing at all. What did you two even speak about this morning? What's going on with you two akiko?"
Akiko sighed
"I want to know as well Maiko, but she won't let me in. She has this huge wall up.
She doesn't want to show us the real her, we know who the real her is. The person we grew up with is locked away and we won't see her for a while. All she said was that I should come to her in a year and a half when I experience losing the love of my life. If she is still harping on that red flag of a girl Lizzie Mai, I can't do anything about it.
I am only her best friend, a best friend she won't let in at all. She won't let us in. I am worried she will go down a dark path and she is fighting a war we can't see."
Maiko sighed rubbing her temples in frustration
"Akiko, it didn't help back then when you and Lizzie were constantly fighting over samiko who was clueless at the time. I know you saw red flags in her and she saw you as a threat.
We should never bring up how sore of a subject that is for her. She is probably still healing from all that and it is taking time. We were thirteen at the time when everything happened.
We are about to reach high school soon and that will always replay in her mind that she lost the love of her life. We have to stand behind her even if she doesn't want us to. We have to respect her personal space and her privacy."
Akiko sighed and nodded
"Maiko, you are right. I hope wherever Samiko is that she is safe and warm until this storm passes on. She still needs to come back home and be here with us. It is almost dinner time."
The storm was calming down and samiko was still in the cabin, she was dried up sitting by the fireplace.
She looked around the place slowly, the cabin felt very familiar as if she been there before, all of a sudden a memory flashed through her mind, She saw herself sitting in the exact same cabin by the fireplace, there was someone with her feeling the scars on her back and that someone was crying wishing that they could have helped her
The person didn't have a face but the person was kind enough to accept how bad her back was
The door to the cabin was busted open and nothing else happened after that. She shook her head and her heart was pounding rapidly as if the memory was fresh.
She got up and teleported back to the castle into her room and showered quietly. Usagi called Samiko's cell phone but no answer, she began to worry because she didn't know where samiko was at the moment.
She called the outer senshi to her castle frantically to help search for the missing rabbit, The outer senshi came to the castle to calm Usagi down, they assured her that she is a teenager and she needed space to clear her mind and she will return home and that Usagi shouldn't worry that much.
Mamoru explained his conversation to the outer senshi that he had with Samiko before they had their fun family evening in.
Haruka blinked
"I am sure she has a good reason as to why she is feeling like that, she is fifteen years old. I mean look at the shadows she is living in and she probably feels like she will never fill the shoes of those before her. She feels the impossible, so she distances herself from feeling affection and communication."
Michiru looked at her partner with a concerned look on her face
"We haven't met her yet and I feel like she is running away from her issues, that oddly sounds like someone I know very well. If she continues to run away, more problems will arise. She is the very last of the royal moon family is she not? She should be in training for her own kingdom and as a senshi as well."
Mamoru sighed
"Michiru, that is the problem. She doesn't trust us at all and she isn't letting anyone in.
She has a lot of trust issues, lately every time she sees Usagi she runs away as if a demon was chasing after her. She locks herself in her room and makes science projects. She flat out told me that she will never fill our shoes or live up to what people see in her.
She feels if she keeps her true self locked away the world will be better off and in perfect balance. She plans to move out of Crystal Palace when she gets to her senior year of high school. She is dead set on leaving this place, she feels it is only temporary and she is a burden on us. She works two part time jobs and balances school and club activities as well. It's a lot for any teenager to take on so much at a young age."
Usagi sighed
"Samiko isn't only part of my kingdom, she is also part of Saturn's kingdom as well. My memory is still fuzzy from that time before everything happened. I didn't know she existed, if i did i would have protected her. All I do remember was that my mother sent us all to earth to be reborn after the kingdom was destroyed with our memories of that time erased so we can be carefree and relaxed. There is a lot I don't remember from that time, it is probably a good thing."
Samiko came out the shower putting on her pjs and doing her hair, she stared into her mirror that was on her desk
"I am who I am at the end of the day, if nobody accepts that it's their problem not mine. I didn't ask to be born or reborn, I was better off being dead. Why was I reborn with the others? Who am I really? Do I really deserve this second chance at life? Is it ok to be my true self around others when it can lead to a dangerous and dark era for this entire kingdom.
There is no point for people to know the real me, I can see where that leads to. I caused the moon kingdom to be destroyed the first time, the crystal palace will not be destroyed because I let people in who don't even care about me. I have enough time to figure things out and leave this place, go completely off the grid. I am fine on my own and I will continue to be how I am, locked away and forgotten for the rest of time."
She finished getting ready and went to the kitchen where everyone was having dinner. She sat down quietly and started eating while everyone stared at her
Usagi ran up to her and hugged her
"Samiko, where have you been? There was a huge storm and I couldn't reach you on your cell phone. You have only been here for a few weeks and you don't talk to anyone. You come home directly from school and clubs and lock yourself up in your room until dinner time. What's been going on with you? Why are you constantly running away from me as if I did something wrong?"
Samiko looked at her cousin with a confused look on her face
"Neo Queen Serenity, I come directly home from school because that is what was expected of me. If I am to be living here temporarily I have to abide by the rules. I just know to stay away from you because this is your home and I have to respect it. I have no place here within your family or any family. I will always be an outcast.
I have accepted a lot of things in my fifteen years of living. High school starts in the spring so I am only focused on that. As my middle school life chapter closes and a new one opens, I plan to leave this place and live on my own. I don't want to be a burden or a bother on anyone, I will be paying for everything on my own. I already started looking for places and some haven't appealed to me yet, now if you'll excuse me I am going to bed. I don't feel like eating now."
Her friends got up and followed her to her room so they could sleep because they had school tomorrow morning
She laid on the couch staring at the ceiling and she remained quiet for the rest of the evening
Mamoru sighed
"Samiko, what are we going to do with you? We are your family and you don't want to let us in. You will have to at some point because you need a family to depend on. We are nothing like your parents who just dropped you off with a note. We want to know everything about you."
Michiru looked in her mirror that she always carried with her
"She is carrying a horrible secret, a burden if you will. My mirror can see into her past. It shows the moon kingdom and what happened but then it goes pitch black, maybe we can talk to Setsuna about this to see what she can get from this.
I suppose we can watch over her when she is alone. We'll watch over her from the shadows. The weight of the world is on her shoulders and it's breaking her down until she becomes completely numb and anti-social from everyone. We will start tomorrow shadowing her undetected and see what she does from day to day, we will give you all the full report once we gather everything."
They teleported out of the crystal palace to prepare for tomorrow's mission which was going to be a long one.
Mamoru put the dishes in the dishwasher so the dishes could wash, he hugged his wife from behind
"Michiru may be right about samiko, she is running from something. The events of the moon kingdom, the war, the fact we didn't know she existed back than. Everything from then is such a blur and it sucks. If we knew she existed we could have done something for her. I don't like seeing her like this, she feels like she is in a war she can't escape from. We need to help her understand we are here for her and that she can trust us with her life."
Usagi sighed in her husband's arms
"Mamo, it's going to be a long and difficult road for us raising her the right way. Chibiusa should be coming home any day now from school overseas, maybe she can lend us a hand. She is a bit older then samiko so maybe this can help us understand her more if she sticks to chibiusa. We should go to bed, I am feeling tired and I want to wake up early to see her off for class. I don't want her to feel ambushed by a fire of rapid questions. Tomorrow is a new day and we'll be prepared for it."
They both went to bed hoping tomorrow is brighter and they can start communicating with samiko about the rules and her two part time jobs that she has.
