4.1 In which there seems to be a continuity error
He couldn't help but blink slowly in shock while carefully walking down the road and taking sight of this strange world he had ended up in. A glance to the side and he couldn't help but blink at the bright lights and strange cybernetic influence upon his surroundings.
"Urg… my head…"
Instantly the boy winced as a particularly bright light managed to give him a headache and had to pause to rub a temple. Wherever he was was particularly bright and he really needed to get out of here before something happened.
"Met!"
Any thoughts were instantly forgotten as the boy heard that sound and whipped around to see a Mettaur had managed to get behind him. For a moment he couldn't help but blink dumbly at the sight, unable to comprehend what he was seeing.
"A Mettaur… how is a Mettaur here…"
Said virus blinked at the human before doing the equivalent of shrugging and raising its pickaxe up in preparation of attack. As for the boy in question, he had quickly realized what was happening and took off in a sprint away from said creature.
The virus quickly let out a string of expletives in its own language before giving chase and sending shockwaves after him. Said chaise would seem rather comical to an outside viewer as the boy made pinsharp turns to either duck into open doorways while said virus followed.
Only to pop out of another entrance not too far away in the same area, at times he even managed to duck behind objects and pop up from another one altogether.
Thankfully for the boy he managed to duck into a display with a bunch of mannequins and watched the Mettaur run past him. That said he quickly decided not to waste time here and quickly got out of the strange mall-like structure.
Only to quickly find himself being pinned to the ground by a white gloved hand around his throat that belonged to a person in a tattered cloak and angry scowl on their face.
"Who are you and give me one reason why I shouldn't delete you for sneaking up on me."
The amount of force upon impact with the ground was more than enough to knock the air out of him but the boy was still able to breathe somewhat thankfully. A sudden clunk sound however made both eyes turn towards the bag that he dropped and the laptop that had been revealed.
Turning back towards the stranger holding him down the boy could see that they had a very brief bewildered look like they had never seen a computer before. It was quickly replaced with a scowl but the fact was that the boy knew he had to be incredibly careful before this individual killed him.
"The… names…. B… Bryan… and… I… have… n… n… no… clue… how… I… g… g… g… got… here."
The hand was getting tighter around him before suddenly stopping as the person still glared at him. This didn't really help as darkness was slowly starting to grow at the edges of his vision but Bryan did his best not to succumb to unconsciousness.
"BASS! Let them go right now!"
Tilting his head the boy caught sight of a person in blue pointing something at the person holding him. Some of the pressure was lifted however causing him to take in a few breaths of air before the now identified Bass spoke.
"Hmph, I should have expected that you would show up Mega-dweeb… too bad I already found what I was looking for."
The next thing Bryan knew he was roughly thrown over the strangers shoulder and he had been hit in the head by his bag. This however did nothing to prevent him from finally getting a good glimpse of his captors face, nor the symbol on their chest.
In fact he was only able to get out one word at the sheer impossibility of what he was seeing before suddenly being carried away at insane speed.
"Forte?"
4.2 In which Megaman kidnaps Bryan
It had started as a simple way of trying to escape some of the insanity at the fortress lately since the start of Project Infinity. Bryan had decided he was going to take his own person Skull Craft for a spin since he hadn't had the opportunity before.
As for where he got it, Wily had decided to give the cyborg one as a present for finally turning sixteen and earning his driving license. Not to say that it really mattered as he had driven Wily's own version several times beforehand so that the scientist had time to do his own things.
Two hours later and he was bewilderedly staring at the sight of Megaman in the cockpit of the craft as his dog Rush stood guard. He had been tied up, gagged, and was resting against some crates of supplies that had been legally obtained and part of Wily's orders.
Judging from the Blue Bombers bewildered face in the reflection he also had no clue how this had happened either. If that wasn't just great enough then the fact is he had left Tarkin behind at the base as well meaning there was next to no way to tell anyone what had happened.
Thus here he was bound and gagged as Megaman took control of his craft for whatever reason while doing his best to sneakily connect to the network.
"So… apparently I'm being kidnapped by the Blue Bomber… help?"
Any running conversation was instantly cut off as every available Robot Master got the message, paused, and attempted to reboot their CPU. When that failed they attempted to verify only to receive a video of the event in question from the cyborg.
"Right… someone contact Doctor Light and tell him his son might have a crossed wire or two, and or possibly been replaced with a badly made replica because this just does not happen."
"Yeah, we're supposed to be the bad guys, not little annoying dweebs in blue."
Bass instantly sent out the reply and apparently Quint was annoyed by the implications but then again who knows what's going on in that bot's head. As for the rest there was a brief amount of chatter in confirmation and several questions asking if he was alright.
"Yes I'm fine, no I have no clue what is going on in Rock's head right now, will someone please offline Quint again because he is seriously starting to get annoying. Honestly I thought we managed to fix that bug, no just get in contact with Light… and possibly Break because he needs to see this. What… there's a tracking chip installed inside the craft, yes I managed to pick up the parts needed… tell Wily to just hurry up and activate the recall function already."
Honestly Bryan was starting to get worried as the chat increased and several Light bots checked in to see what was happening. A few seconds later however he was blinking and triple checking the logs before hesitantly sending another message upon seeing a certain name missing.
"Uh… not to worry you but does anyone have a visual on Tarkin, he's being rather quiet and that does not fill me with confidence."
You could practically hear the sound of screeching tires and several collisions as everything abruptly stopped. As one the entire collective turned their attention towards the robotic fox and noted his eerily constant tone on the network.
"Is… is that fox actually hotwiring the latest giant mech that the doc has built?"
There was a morbidly horrified tone in Bomb Man's voice as he and others could only watch the sight of a robotic fox hotwire the mech. It also appeared that Wily had gotten interested in a Gamma movie if the fact that it looked like a giant version of Mothra was any indication.
To be honest Bryan himself couldn't even blame anyone as he was also morbidly horrified at the sight and spoke with a hollow tone.
"I'll be honest… I did not program nor equip Tarkin with any tools to allow him to do that… is he adding Wily's newest Buster Cannons to that thing?"
It was like watching a train wreck in slow motion, you just couldn't turn away from the sheer carnage that was happening.
"Yes he is… and it looks like he's adding… is that a Buster Chain Gun and if so where in blazes did the fox get it from?"
That was a very good question Snake Man but the real one that should be asked is where was Tarkin even keeping them. There was also the very real question of why in blazes did his fox not get him one as well because come on, a chain gun capable of firing 400 plasma blasts per minute.
The sheer carnage alone that one would be able to pull off with that thing was awe inspiring and needed to be a staple of the Wily Armory, because Buster Chain Gun capable of firing 400 blasts per minute.
"Is anybody going to stop that fox or are we going to witness the start of the next Wily War because of a robot fox adding… what even is that thing?"
From the picture alone it appeared to be a giant backpack with twin jet turbines and a series of tubes poking out of the front. Looking closer he could just make out the sight of what appeared to be… you have got to be joking.
"I… somebody please do something… Tarkin is adding the experimental Anti-Matter missiles to it."
4.3 - In which, time travel is broken
Honestly nobody was sure how to respond to this as they surveyed the absolute carnage and horrifying scene going on below them. The only reason they weren't doing anything was because nobody knew what they actually could do without mucking things up even more.
As for what was happening, how in blazes were you supposed to react to finding out that you accidently entered a world in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. The only reason they weren't being noticed was because of the cloaking field that Wily had installed on a whim.
"So… this is a thing."
Bryan spoke quietly as he watched Zombie Hunter Rock and other versions of Robot Masters try and hold back the seemingly endless hoard. Judging from their looks they had been at this for a long time and there was the real and disturbing possibility that Thomas Light was dead and/or infected.
As one everybody in the capsule looked at Bass who seemed to have shut off most of his emotional programming for whatever reason. Though whether this was because of shock, anger, or fear was unknown but nobody could really blame him seeing as how they were all horrified at this.
"I know I'm not a good doer or anything but… do you think we should do something about this?"
Wily had an unknown look in his eyes as he surveyed the scene below while absently petting both support units. This however did nothing to prevent both Bass and Bryan from knowing that despite however many negative feelings the German had about his old friend he still worried about him, in his own unique way at least.
Another glance out the window showed that the hoard was thinning out and that the various RMs were starting to stand down while making a sweep of the old factory they had set shop in. At least until one of them pointed at something and made all of the robots tense before they turned to look directly at them.
"Whelp, I don't think we really have any choice now seeing as how they somehow spotted us, take us down Bass."
The black unit in question simply blinked before expertly maneuvering the Time Skimmer towards the gathering bots below. A tense moment later and the group reluctantly opened the craft and looked at the tense group lead by Megaman.
"Your… human?"
The uncertain voice of the bot in question was definitely something that startled the group of five as Rock was rarely uncertain like that. A brief glance at each other however and Bryan decided that he would have a better time pushing Wily forwards to act as their spokesperson.
"Hmph, annoying apprentice, I am Albert Wily, robotics scientist from another timeline, beside me I have Bass and his support unit Trebble, both robotic. On the other side I have my annoying apprentice Bryan, a cyborg, and his own created support unit Tarkin and… we're here to help."
4.4 - In which, Bryan organizes a tournament
"You want me to do what?"
Bryan blinked at Wily for a moment as the German chuckled sheepishly.
"I want you to organize a robot tournament to try and crown the greatest robot ever built."
The teen nodded slowly as he leaned against the table in the main lab. Simultaneously he raised an eyebrow in silent question to the old man.
Thankfully however the scientist managed to catch onto what he wanted and spoke again.
"I may or may not have started another take over the world plot and only snapped out of it after completing about 98% of the plans. Took a look at what I had written while in that mad state and decided that I actually liked most of the idea.
"Thing is, I figure that I probably shouldn't be involved with anything else beyond the initial planning so… care to help an old man out?"
The cyborg let out a brief hum as he contemplated the idea in his head before letting out a sigh.
"Alright, though in this case we are having more than just a simple fight in an arena… Give me your notes but I'm going to do my best to make this a Robot Olympics."
It would be a long three months as the technically evil master and apprentice duo went to work on the plans. The young teen would end up doing most of the heavy lifting and only needed to knock out his mentor once when he slipped into evil scientist mode.
Bryan even ran into a Light Bot a few times during this time but thankfully managed to wave them off claiming it was minder work for one of Wily's newest contracts. Most of the time it was Rock he had ended up dealing with but there was once or twice with another Robot Master such as Elec Man and Oil Man.
Most interesting was the fact that Roll once got after him during that time as he made the mistake of accidentally running into her after a sleepless night of planning. The cyborg simply chalked it up to accidentally tripping a program or two in her but did willingly comply with some of her antics.
Then he instantly got back up and went to work on the plans and tried to come up with something interesting.
On the bright side his plans would probably come up with a success, and he only had to deal with two Episodes from his mentor. The downside, Wily had somehow managed to get wrapped up in being an announcer for the whole thing, much to everyone's bewilderment.
How in blazes that little tidbit fell through the cracks would annoy Bryan for years, and that was before noting how nobody realized that the German was Mr. X.
For crying out loud Mega Man stood right next to him and never realized the truth. Thankfully Proto did, allowing Bryan front row seats to the resulting facepalm the Blue Bomber.
Music to his ears at that point but really the cyborg was more invested in tying up a few loose ends.
4.5 In which, Wily meets Eggman
"BWAHAHAHAHA!"
"HEAHEHEAHEA!"
The duo of evil cackling coming from the main room had Tarkin hiding behind Bryan in unusual fear. Not that he was really paying attention at this point as the sole coffee maker in the kitchen was slowly sputtering out his needed drink.
Honestly at this point Wily's apprentice was used to pulling what amounts as all-nighters during certain projects. Was he aware that he picked up this unhealthy habit from the old man, yes, did he really care about it, not really until he got his much needed coffee.
Shuffling around his fox he reached into the nearby cabinet and got out at least three mugs. One was a bright cheery blue with a pink skull on it (Wily), another was pink with a happy cute gelatinous pudding-like blue and yellow creature waving at you (Eggman), and the last was black with a silver trim to it (Bryan).
That done he placed two on a tray with the last beside them before pouring a good amount of the pumpkin spice flavored coffee. With that done he reached into another cabinet and added a great amount of powdered sleeping pills into the two tray cups.
Once done he simply added a few packets of sugar, some cream, and ironically a small thing of honey on said tray. It was then placed on the poor sacrificial Mettaur who was sent into the den of laughing craziness that was the next room over.
Unfortunately Bass was unable to really escape and the teen was able to make out the betrayed look he gave them when the door was opened.
That done Bryan took a sip of his drink before making his way over the wall mounted phone and dialing a long memorized number. Leaning against the wall he sat the phone against his shoulder and cheek before using his now free hand to absently rub Tarkin's head in a soothing notion.
Said phone rang a few times before being picked up and a cheery female voice rang out from it.
"Hello you have reached Light Laboratories, my name is Roll and how may I help you today?"
A quick sip of his drink later Bryan let out a sigh and spoke to the Light bot.
"Hey Roll it's Bryan, I'm just calling to let you know that Wily has forgotten his meds once again and it's a bit late for me to stop him."
A heavy silence settled on the other side of the line and the cyborg took a moment to glance towards the door to the other room. The laughter was still going on in between the sounds of gulping coffee and SCIENCE!
"Oh for the love of- What exactly is he up to this time?"
It really said something that Roll dropped her happy act around him and began no doubt alerting the rest of her family. She was probably also wondering if she needed to get his and Bass' rooms set up as a precaution.
Judging from the fact that both laughter hasn't stopped yet, which was worrying in its own way, Bryan was willing to bet they were going to need them.
"Yeah no, I have yet to finish my first cup of coffee and am not going to enter that room yet. Apparently my mentor has found a kindred scientist just as crazy as he is on his worst days if that laughter is any indication.
"Oh, and before I forget you should know that we might have been messing with space-time recently and looking into alternate universes. Expect many headaches, shenanigans, and potentially irrepressible trauma from this newest adventure."
Heavy silence settled between the two as the teen took another sip of his cup and glanced at the nearby cabinet holding headache medicine. Ever since he was turned into a cyborg the pills had gone unused due to them being unable to affect him, which really sucked on days like this.
"Please tell me you're joking."
"Nope."
Instantly the cyborg dashed any hope from Roll as he reluctantly turned his attention away from the cabinet. Maybe he should look into something else that could help him but that would involve having to probably talk to Rock and hear about his rather dubious involvement in questionable substances and their impacts on Robot Masters.
"Right, right… I'll let Doctor Light know what's up and prepare Mega Man on what to expect."
Really, for being a good guy he seemed to have activities that most would think that Wily Bots took part in. Then again he was on the front line most of the time and tended to see a lot of questionable stuff that would drive anyone, both organic and inorganic, crazy with just a fraction of it.
"Good luck then, for all it's worth Roll. I'll see about keeping a lid on things here for as long as possible but doubt it'll last long."
"Yeah well, right back to you as well Bryan. I'll have your rooms made up just in case."
That said both simultaneously hung up their phones and the teen downed the rest of his cup. Now alert he took a moment to place the empty mug in the sink, gave Tarkin another pat on the head, squared his shoulders, and stepped into the still laughing den of crazy.
How in blazes were the two still awake after being dosed with that much fast acting sleep pills? Know what, he didn't care, better start stocking up horse tranquilizer after this misadventure was over.
4.6 In which, Bryan unofficially starts his apprenticeship
By now he had gotten incredibly used to the bizarre kidnapping attempts that he kept on getting into. Heck, he was at the point where even Mega Man was looking at him in something akin to recognition.
Probably not a good thing that he was becoming rather well known in the Wily/Light rivalry, as one-sided that it appeared to be from his perspective.
At this point however he had given up keeping track of how many times it happened and simply went with the flow. It turned out that these many kidnapping events were not only good study times but also great relaxation times.
Unfortunately however, today had been the last day of school and he left his backpack at home seeing as he had nothing to turn in.
Thus here he was trapped in the now individual cells that Wily had designed to hold his captives after one to many incidents of escapes and/or uprisings. On a side note it appeared that the mad scientists had somehow involved facial recognition into his creations as he was shuffled off to a jail cell a little bit away from the rest of nitwits.
Not only were patrols in this section down from the other detention wings but he also seemed to have gotten an actual mattress to lay upon. Sure it was barely an inch and a half thick, made of thick foam, and had no blanket and/or pillow but it was more comfortable to sit upon than the floor.
Going back to his problem though, he had nothing to do right now and had always kept his head down during these situations. Now however he was looking broadly out the clear plexiglass windows and absently watching a group of hard hat wearing robots walk on by for the fifth time in two hours.
Thus, just as they were in front of his cell and about to march away again he decided to say something.
"Hey uh… I don't suppose you can get me something to read while I'm here?"
Creepily the three bots paused in their movements before turning as one to look at him in what appeared to be shock. One of their optics flashed as they let out a hesitant beep like sound that Bryan could just barely understand was some sort of question.
"Yeah I spoke… look, I don't want any trouble but it gets rather boring waiting for rescue to arrive. I need something to keep myself occupied and I sincerely doubt you'll get me a TV or an active internet connection so…"
Letting his voice trail off in boredom he gave the three a flat look while propping his head with his hand. He was using his knee as a resting place for his elbow and the leg in question was crossed over his resting leg to give a look of pure boredom.
Another one beeped something but this time the teen got the feeling that it was directed towards their group. Sure enough it appeared that the three robots were having some sort of conversation before two of them seemed to take off somewhere.
The one left just looked at him and he in turn engaged in a futile staring contest with them out of boredom.
Some minutes later, he unsurprisingly lost the match to the bots' mirth, the sounds of returning footsteps herald the return of the other two. In a surprising twist however, balanced on one head was an actual book while the other had what appeared to be a bunch of note paper and a few pens.
A few beeps later he watched as the obvious leader directed the two of them towards the front of his cell before tapping some sort of conveniently placed control panel. This caused the cell door to open while also causing some sort of weapon to lower itself from the roof inside the room and point at him.
Another beep sounded causing him to turn his attention back towards the three and he somehow managed to understand the implied threat. Do anything stupid and they would blast him without remorse.
Unsurprisingly he held up his hands in surrender and watched as the two bots carrying stuff entered the cell. They deposited their contents just inside the door before leaving and soon enough things went back to normal-ish patterns.
Blinking for a moment in shock the boy simply looked at the objects before hastily looking up and the slowly retreating trio.
"Thanks!"
Quickly throwing out the word Bryan watched the trio seemingly give a nod in acknowledgment towards him before looking down at the objects he had been loaned. Not unexpectedly he had been given a book on robotics, thankfully a beginners guide, but he wasn't going to complain.
With a sigh he got up to retrieve it and began his no doubt long education into the fundamentals of robotics. Eh, it was something to do and would hopefully prevent his captor from raining vengeance down upon him.
-|:-:|- Scene Shift -|:-:|-
Letting out a hum of interest Dr. Wily watched as the young lad began reading the book he had requested. In truth the German had been interested upon witnessing some of his bots enter his study.
Seeing them grab not only a book but some other material had been unexpected, leading him to do some investigation. It didn't take that long to figure out what was going on and after a minute of thinking he decided to leave it be.
Far be it for him to stop someone from learning and at the very least it kept the kid quiet for the time being. Though if they were going to be doing something like this then they had better be prepared to show they weren't slacking off.
"Something wrong doc?"
Glancing up with a slight frown Wily looked at Break Man before grunting and turning off the screen.
"Nothing, just get back to work Break."
The Robot Master looked at him with a raised eyebrow before shrugging and doing as he was told. In turn the German grumbled about nosy people butting in on others business but turned back to his own projects.
That being said however the scientist began to slowly plot the best way to test the kid on his knowledge later on. He was not going to let just anyone read from his books if they weren't willing to put the effort in to learn their contents.
Oh no, the kid was going to have to prove himself worthy if he wanted to continue to read from his collection. Hmm… if they proved themselves competent then he might just have to keep an eye on them in the future.
Then the blasted Mega Man broke in and all thoughts of tests and kids left his mind to deal with the resulting mess. What did he even do to irritate Thomas this time when a simple phone call would be enough to get everyone released.
4.7 In which, SERIOUSLY!?
Letting out a grunt Bryan continued to work on the capsule that would hopefully take him away from this mess. The amount of effort needed just to get something like this working was annoying and not really worth it.
Desperately the teen did his best to ignore the resulting battle happening behind him and just keep on tinkering. Made much harder when he wanted to break out his newly acquired Buster and just get everyone to… shut… up.
Grinding his teeth the teen kept his no doubt red eyes focused on the machine while wondering how he had gotten into this mess to begin with. Something about anomalous energy readings and Wily wanting to get some readings just in case?
All he knew was that things went wrong somewhere and he woke up in some sort of parallel world. No mentions of either robotics duo and a much lower tech level than he was used to.
Then they showed up and his already dangerous blood pressure shot up the longer he had to deal with them.
Let it be said that Bryan did not want to deal with these so-called Pro-Heros any longer than possible, let alone the so-called League of Villains. While these quirks were interesting in passing he wasn't exactly impressed with them seeing as how he could build robots that had similar abilities.
If he had Tarkin then it would probably be a bit more tolerable but unfortunately the fox was down for maintenance after the latest debacle. Stupid meteorite and its stupid power boosting qualities overloading the stupid sub-quality capacitors that idiots had sold to him under false pretenses.
Suffice to say the last few weeks had been a huge pain ducking around both groups and gathering his needed materials. He wasn't even breaking the law going through multiple legal channels and hoops to gather his parts but nooo, he's obviously stealing this stuff.
The amount of times he had to get these hero's off his back alone was irritating and had almost cost him his work a number of times. He scrunched up some money and put an ad in the paper advertising his repair work, all legal and above the board for someone without powers like him apparently.
Then he scrapped up some Super Taser just to shock the twit known as All Might and suddenly these villains were popping up to try and recruit him or something. That group was somehow even more irritating and he was practically a villain in all but name back home.
Whoever the hand guy was, let alone the one with portals, had already cost him one of his prosthetics, setting him back once. They even managed to attract the hero's more often creating more headaches to deal with.
So yes, Bryan was at his wits end dealing with all of this and just wanted to go home already. Was that really too much to ask for?
Reaching over to a nearby console he hit a seemingly random button and activated his cold fusion powered forcefield. Say what you will about Wily and his insanity but wow was that man a genius when it came to alternative energy systems.
Thankfully he was only like, a few hours or so away from finally completing his machine and leaving this… circus or something.
*BOOOM!*
Something impacted against his shield creating a bright flash behind him. Thankfully the thing held even under the successive onslaught that followed soon after.
This lasted a few more minutes before slowly petering off and resisting the desire to roll his eyes, the teen continued working. Barley a thought later he activated his inbuilt music feature and adjusted it settings just right so that it was just audible above someone talking.
Like he really needed to listen to some uptight idiot attempting to play hero, or villain, without even bothering to do their research. Not like they would even recognize the music he was listening to anyways, NateWantsToBattle was three centuries old in this world and nobody wanted to listen to Quirkless musicians nowadays.
A few minutes later and there was more chattering and a few attempts to no doubt get his attention that he ignored. The red eyed teen then went and waited for whomever was bothering to speak to go quiet for a few minutes.
Once noticed he reached under the desk and grabbed a piece of paper that he had printed prior to this and stuffed into an envelope. This was quickly tossed backwards with barely a flick of the wrist and he went back to working on his device.
Said note was really just him calling whomever they were an idiot and requesting them to leave him alone.
Seriously at this point he was tired of everyone either calling him a villain and said so in his note before pointing out his position of neutrality. It also called out the fact that everything had been done within the bounds of the law and that if they had bothered to do their homework they would have noticed it.
The sputtering alone was practically music to his ears but Bryan did everything in his effort to just continue working. Oh look, it was a hero who was trying to sputter out how they were in the right and he was just a villain in the making so should just give up before making everything worse for himself.
Irritating but not really unexpected at this point so he reached again under his table before holding up the TV Remote he had modified. Making a good point of holding it up so they could view up he moved his thumb over the obvious mute button.
Then pointed it at them and pressed it before smirking lightly as they suddenly stopped speaking mid word.
He could just imagine their wide eyed disbelief at the fact he just muted them of all things before going back to work like nothing happened. It would wear off in fifteen minutes but the effect was more than enough to allow him to work with minimal interruptions.
There were a few more attempts to either break his shield or get his attention but at this point he no longer cared. His device would hold up for the next three days without much problems if needed but only needed to last at most half a day.
Unless they tried dumbing nukes or something on it then he would be long gone before they could get in. What tech he left behind would be reduced to slag out of spite and the desire to prevent them from copying any of his tech.
Time passed and with it the one Pro-Hero had left, only to be replaced with another and another who either tried to get past his shield or get him to surrender. Each time Bryan made a small show of muting them and continuing on with his work in spite of whatever was happening.
A sudden gong sound echoed out however the cyborg ignored this knowing that it was the potential portal user trying to get in. Well, him or some other person with a teleportation ability but at this point he really didn't care.
Soldering a few wires together on a circuit the brown haired teen took a moment to finally glance at the clock.
"Huh… did those fools finally give up or something?"
Speaking softly to himself at finally noticing the lack of noise for the teen shrugged and went back to work. There was a thin film of purple smoke in the air as well but all turning on the simple fan helped clear that up.
That done he finally went back to work with an extra pep that carried him through the next few steps. All that was really left at this point however was attaching the capsule door and finishing a few diagnostics.
Seconds after this thought however his sour mood returned as something caused his shield to flash brightly. Red annoyed eyes turned to take note that someone was apparently attempting to drain it of power.
A brief snort of amusement later he watched as whomever they were suddenly stopped and fell backwards. One small scan showed that they were alive but the odds of them doing that again were next to nil.
Seems like he might have fried someone's quirk by accident… not his problem when dealing with idiots.
Barely paying attention to whomever had arrived to potentially check up on them he went about finishing up his Wily Dimension Capsule Mk… four or so? He didn't really care and it was only capable of one trip before frying anyways.
Turning towards his laptop and inputting a few commands he sat back with a self satisfied smirk at watching the status bar load. Actually… he might need to do some research just to figure out how these Quirks came to be.
If only to prevent them from becoming a thing back in his world, time, and/or dimension.
At this point he suddenly sat up straighter and blinked as the thoughts finally registered in his mind.
"So… maybe I should get a checkup or something with Light when I get back home, that sounded too much like a Wily thought."
The sudden hum from directly behind however caused him to whip around and arm his Buster without nary a thought. It should have been impossible for a human, enhanced or not, to get by his shield and he was so close to going home.
A heavy whine of highly compressed and heated plasma sounded out as the cyborg looked at the white… furry… chimera?
Not the strangest thing he'd ever seen in his apprenticeship at this point but still potentially up there. Then again the old German Scientists had some whacky plans he had either destroyed and/or tossed to someone else for security.
"Ah, hello there. Don't mind me, I'm just here to see what you're up to."
Bemused, he raised a questioning eyebrow at the strange mouse, bear, dog creature before looking behind them. There were a number of smug/annoyed/irritated/exasperated people at the edge of his shield looking in.
Another look showed that the chimera creature was holding the remote with a thumb-like clawed appendage over the mute button.
Seeing as how they weren't attempting to do anything however he let the power fade but still kept it in its Buster form.
"That's an interesting quirk there mr…"
Looking at the creature he let out a hum before turning his head just enough to look at his laptop, both of them knowing he wasn't going to say his name.
"Not a quirk."
"Really now… if so then what is it?"
The chimera was clearly interested and with an attentive audience Bryan clearly had no reason not to indulge in a little payback.
Free hand reaching up to the part of his face still visible he found the seam at the edge of his hairline and quickly disabled his pain sensors before pulling. The looks of horror, shock, and disgust on everyone's face was delightful even as the sound of tearing flesh rang out.
Thankfully for everyone there was no blood but instead of muscle and bone underneath there was metal and wires.
Making sure everyone had gotten a good look he pushed the synth-skin back together and held it to make sure it stuck. That said part of his face was now sagging and he would probably get an earful from Wily upon returning, was still worth it though.
"I'm what you call a cyborg, about 40% human at this point and 60% robotic due to a series of accidents."
Making sure they weren't exactly going to do anything in their shell shocked state he glanced at the progress bar, 27.8% done.
The chimera for his part was still smiling slightly as he watched this in amusement. For some reason Bryan felt that they might be more aware of things than anyone else.
"Truly now… that would explain how you managed to lose and regain a limb."
Looking back at the fluffy creature the cyborg debated for a minute before letting out a sigh of defeat.
"Yeah, I don't like talking about the Lanfront Ruins or follow up incidents for obvious reasons… How did you get by my shield?"
A brief check showed that thankfully events like that were unlikely to happen here but best to make sure that nobody poked the wrong thing. That said he was genuinely curious as to how this person managed to get by his shields so easily.
The chimera seemed deeply amused by this and let out a brief chuckle before speaking.
"Oh you know I'm just an animal with a Quirk, nothing too big. Good luck on your return trip home by the way and I'm sorry that you got caught up in this mess."
Keeping a carefully blank face the teen looked at the mouse before letting out an irritated huff. That said he kept a brief eye on the camera he left behind before the signal cut off just in case.
One of the hero's had irritably demanded to know why the furry chimera creature did nothing to stop him. Said creature in turn turned an irritated eye on them and spoke in a pleasantly cheerful voice filled with scorn.
"I don't see why I should have, after all he never actually committed any crimes."
Alright, he might not know whomever that was but clearly they had a sense of humor he could appreciate. The looks on all of those irritating Hero's faces was honestly worth it.

(Somewhere in the distance multiple curses could be heard. Miota himself could be heard crying above the rest over the loss of his usual disclaimer.)
