Chapter 3: Pelvis makeup kit.

Izuku woke up in a hospital room after what happened. He was alone. It wasn't pitch black outside anymore which was the first thing he noticed. He didn't remember much of what had happened or why he'd been sleeping. His mind was still on his mother, but the initial shock was gone and now he was really feeling the weight of it, and it was crushing. He did however not cry, he was past it. After a while of doing nothing and trying desperately to think of nothing at all he looked to his side for some kind of way to alert a nurse or doctor. There was a button hanging from a string that couldn't have been anything other than what he was looking for. He turned a bit to his side, ignoring the sharp pain that shot up from his chest. Just as he was about to press it he noticed two things down by the side of the bed. The lantern he'd dragged out and something else, a book. Izuku still pressed the button but picked up the two things on his way back. Both the book and the lantern felt entirely weightless which surprised him a bit. He placed the book on his lap and inspected it. It was big and looked like it had been through the wringer, with distressed leather and blackened chains hanging from the sides. There was no name on the front or the back of the book. He opened it to the first page and saw a neon green post-it note.

"This is your handbook/guide for all things that have to do with us. Made with love from all of us and your sweet mother Inko."

Izuku ripped out the note and crumpled it up, letting one of his tentacles grab it and throw it across the room, hitting the trash with surprising accuracy. He turned a page and was met with a full body drawing of himself shirtless and with suit pants, colour and all. It looked like a very professional version of the sketches from his old hero journals, along with notes explaining everything.

"Tentacles to remind you where you came from."

"Hair that can be easily turned into a snack for emergency situations."

Izuku felt the still wet seaweed that was his hair now.

"Convenient X dimensional maw for easy access to aether born tools or whatever you want to put in."

"Body made to withstand the bottom of the ocean."

The door opened before Izuku could read anything else. A nurse came in and asked if he needed help with anything. Izuku closed his book and turned to look at her.

"Yeah uh, what happened?"

She raised her eyebrows a bit and came closer.

"You broke 2 ribs?" She said like she wasn't sure what he meant.

"I did huh. Can't really recall much of what happened after the detective left."

"Alrighty then. Uhm, those tentacles of yours are really strong aren't they?"

Was she trying to make small talk?

"Yeah I don't know. I just got 'em. Woke up with tentacles and fucking noodle hair and it's apparently been 2 months. I'm sorta processing all of it right now, I'm sorry if I'm a bit weird."

"Yeah I get that I read into you a bit. I was just remarking at how we had 4 people prying them off one by one."

The nurse blushed a bit and looked down at her notepad. This left Izuku confused.

"Sooo, do you need anything?" She asked, twirling a bit in place.

Izuku looked down and thought for a bit.

"Yeah, uh, I really need to take a leak."

The nurse stopped dead in her tracks.

"Oh! Can you walk? I'd be happy to help you if not."

What was she doing?

"I can walk fine I think." Izuku said as he started getting up from the bed. As he stood up water dripped from his head onto the ground.

Is my hair going to be wet forever? He thought as he covered the drip with his hands.

"Yeah you made everything wet in the operating room, and everyone." The nurse said as she noticed what he was doing, saying the last part quietly. Izuku still heard it and gave her a shocked look. As he started walking.

"I'm sorry that was really unprofessional.

You're just ... a lot."

Izuku said nothing and continued walking towards the door, figuring he could find the toilets by himself. As he opened the door a soft "just down the hallway if you're wondering," came.

In the restroom Izuku first looked at himself in the mirror.

"At least I don't look like I'm dead anymore." He said, remarking the now regained pigment in his skin.

"Fit too." He felt his arms and admired muscles that definitely weren't what he was used to.

He whistled and flexed a bit in his hospital gown.

"I see what she was gawking at." He said as he struggled pulling himself away from the mirror. Well in the toilet he pulled up the gown and to his horror it was gone. His trouser snake had been replaced. Replaced by an abomination at that. His face twisted into a mad grimace as he stood frozen gazing at something he'd only so far seen in videos. Quick and simple, it was purple and green and had a mind of its own.

*whistle

"Impressive, heh." A deep voice said. Izuku pulled up his gown further to reveal the source. The maw on his stomach was grinning like it knew what he was thinking.

Izuku wanted to say a multitude of things at that moment, but he composed himself to the best of his ability before speaking, "CAN I EVEN PISS WITH THIS THING!"

"It does everything it needs to!"

"AND YOU KNOW THIS HOW?"

"I… I gots no cluez."

"Aight then, if you know so much you be my instruction manual."

"You want me to explain how to use your dick?"

"This can't even count as that. It's not the same feeling man."

"I ain't gay bro!"

"Damn right, you're a mouth on my fucking stomach now start yapping!"

"Grip it."

Due to Izuku's predicament a quirk doctor was called in to test him. The conclusions that were reached weren't far from what he'd read in his book.

Quirk: Squid

Type: Mutation

Description: Grants the wielder a set of 4 tentacles placed neatly on the upper back and a fifth one between their legs. Additionally it grants an extra mouth that seems to be connected to some sort of pocket universe completely separately from the wielder themselves, foreign objects can be pulled out and stuffed in at the users behalf, although it along with the tentacles at times appear sentient, moving on their own in reaction to their environment. The mouth even speaking on many occasions. The wielder's body appears to have acclimated to a pressure similar to the one at the bottom of the ocean, this giving the wielder increased muscle strength along with an extreme hypertension causing blood to spray like a hose from any open wound when the skin is breached. Additional changes can be noted but for shortness sake they will be excluded.

Over the few days he was there Izuku got more visitors than someone who had nothing and no one should get. Mika came, and they talked for hours about life, about her family and Izuku's. Hobbies, likes, dislikes. She was really nice to him for some reason. Izuku thought about why for a bit but decided not to prod into it.

Detective Naomasa came a second time and told him what was going to happen after he got discharged from the hospital. About how the boys who threw him off hadn't started trial yet so he wasn't legally dead yet and could therefore reasonably easily live "normally" again. Izuku asked him about how he was going to live normally when he had no family. The detective shrugged but gave him an optimistic hug.

Then the next day Mika came again, but with detective Naomasa, and a brown haired man. The man turned out to be Mika's husband Kyotoku.

"Pleasure to meet you Kyotoku, although I am still clueless as to why you are both here."

"Pleasure is all mine." He said with a toothy grin as she shook Izuku's hand.

Naomasa smiled at Izuku which surprised him even more. Izuku would say that he'd gotten to know the guy but he wasn't a smiley person and it didn't take knowing him to find that out.

"Funny you ain't figured that out yet. Took you for being extremely analytical." He said, putting his hands in his pockets.

"ve' had other things to think about recently. Making a game plan for how I'm going to rule the orphanage you know." He said, chuckling a bit.

The detective's smile stayed the same but something in his eyes changed. It pained him that Izuku had to go through all of this.

"Honey we were going to let you figure this out on your own but it seems you're not as smart as we thought."

Izuku and Mika locked eyes as Izuku awaited an answer expectantly.

"Well… we-"

"These two are your new guardians, you dense squid." Naomasa interrupted, giggling a bit as he did.

Everyone was silent except Naomasa who was chuckling a bit, but he too quieted down after a few long seconds.

Izuku's eyes were still looking in the general direction of Mika, but she could tell that he wasn't looking at her.

"Uhm, that's if you want to of course."

This brought Izuku's focus back to her. Their eyes locked again, the silence thick as ever.

"I don't deserve this." It was quiet and didn't sound at all similar to who they had just been hearing.

"Izuku."

Mika said, putting her hand on his chin.

"You deserve the world after all it's done to you."

A tear ran down Izuku's chin but was quickly wiped away by Mika's thumb.

"Save your tears for a better day, because today is yours."

Mika kept her hand on Izuku's chin as he sniffled and sobbed.

"You don't have to be alone through all of this alone."

"Thank you, so so much."

Izuku nearly whispered as he looked up.

"And you'll have a nice sister too." Kyotoku said, making Mika and Izuku smile.

"Now Izuku, let's get your belongings and go get you something that isn't hospital food."

End of chapter 3

Hello people! Sorry for the long wait. But now we're getting somewhere. I'm having a bit of a dilemma regarding how to move the story forward. Cause I want a lighter more humorous tone but I still want to keep Izuku's grieving realistic. My plan is to switch perspective a bit and have room for comedy that isn't coming from an extremely depressed person. Anyways, that's all for me, Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
