"Ah, what a win that was then!"

Kaguya stretched her hands up, the wide grin still not yet gone from her face. She didn't care in the slightest how her skirt now had a bit too many rips on it, courtesy of a certain Hourai's fire. She could fix that easily with her ability to manipulate eternity, after all; 'tis nothing but a scratch.

She sat back on the nearby rocks as she put the knife on the ground next to it. No one is around for the time being, just like the usual. There was another person here just a few moments ago though.

It was really all just because she was feeling a little bored before, needing something to kill time. She appreciated the various entertainments in her room, but she wanted to go outside and maybe do something, preferably with someone else. Eirin was busy researching something that she couldn't bother understanding, Reisen was still off cleaning the treatment room, and Tewi told her that she preferred to be alone for the time being.

So, with no one else to go to, she was only left with the last resort.

Going out of Eientei, she walked leisurely to find the other immortal as the knives were carefully hidden up her sleeve. Spell cards are a little bit too lame for the usual fights, and she'd prefer to switch things up a bit between them every so often. Plus, it's not like she was in a rush anyway, so she could just take her time how she wanted it. Thus, it kind of surprised her that it didn't take a long time to find the person she was looking for.

Mokou was there, sitting on a rock, silently staring blankly forward as she looked like she was still deep inside her thought – whatever it was that she was thinking about.

Her lips slowly widened into a grin. There's not much opportunity as perfect as this one to strike. As she closed in on her nemesis' place, her fingers began wrapping themselves around the daggers she had prepared beneath her clothing. At this point, she knew Mokou was practically in a state of trance as she managed to get within throwing distance without getting noticed. Just as soon as Mokou turned her head around, she threw her knives straight away.

Taken completely by surprise, Mokou quickly jumped away to avoid the knives. It wasn't over, though, as Kaguya quickly launched deadly bullets right after, forcing her enemy to retreat further. Mokou tried to throw numerous quickfire balls, but none of them could hit the target as she ran in the opposite direction, rendering her accuracy rather low.

As the distance between them quickly grew, Kaguya slowed her chase down, feeling that she had enough for now. It was an unusually quick battle, considering how long they'd usually last. She confidently thought that her surprise attack worked perfectly, although she was aware that it was probably not the entire cause. She had tried the exact same tactic a short few months ago, and that fight eventually prolonged into hours-long battle that ended without a win.

With Mokou now gone from her sight, she decided to continue with a leisurely walk through the bamboo forest. She was briefly contemplating to go back to Eientei, but thinking that they're probably still busy anyway, she decided to just stick around outside.

Walking through the bamboo forest almost felt nostalgic for her, somehow. It has been quite a while since the shrine maiden stormed through her age-old mansion and forced her to lift the eternal spell, opening up her sanctuary to the rest of Gensokyo. It was probably centuries since she had last seen another individual other than those who took refuge on Earth together with her, and even the first other individual she saw then was a moon rabbit who also fled the Lunar Capital. It was only years later again – she had forgotten how much in the long span of her life – that she finally encountered a human for the first time on Earth. That day was the day her mansion finally opened itself up to Gensokyo.

"Haaah, what am I even being nostalgic about?" Kaguya muttered as she shook her head, albeit with a small smile on her face. She had lived beyond a thousand years already by this point; a short encounter like that should've been nothing more than a fleeting memory.

It only took a couple of steps towards Eientei, however, before something else caught her attention. For a brief moment, she saw fire sparks from the corner of her eyes. She wondered from where did that spark come from, but her questions were immediately answered as the sounds of bamboo forests falling, followed by loud noises - presumably numerous bullets being fired - immediately filled her eardrums. It seemed Mokou had returned far quicker than she expected, and she's not alone by the looks of it.

"Ooooh, this is going to be exciting!" Kaguya exclaimed, her eyes sparkling as she closed in towards the field of battle. The sound was still quite a distance away, however, and only now did she notice that she might have gotten lost in her search for her arch-nemesis. Even then, she is not going to give up now; she has an eternity to return to, after all. Finding a way back home is merely a trivial matter.

After quite some time, she spotted a rather fast-paced girl wearing a witch hat flying on top of what seemed to be a broom. She looked familiar to her, somehow. She was tempted to simply ignore her and continue to call for Mokou, but the girl's offhanded remark made her think otherwise.

It seems, Kaguya thought, that she'll be better off entertaining this witch-like girl for now. After all, the night is still young, isn't it?
