The next day, the trio – Harry, Daphne, and Hermione – make their way to the Great Hall for breakfast. As they enter, the buzz of excitement and chatter fills the air.

Daphne: (whispering to Harry) "Did you hear about the new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor?"

Harry: (grimacing) "Yeah, it's Lockhart. You know, the one who writes all those books?"

Hermione: (eagerly) "Oh, I can't wait to learn from a renowned expert!"

Harry: (exchanging a knowing look with Daphne) "You might change your mind."

Daphne: "Lockhart? Ugh, not him."

Neville: (joining the conversation) "Lockhart? Isn't he famous?"

Draco: (smirking) "Famous for being a fraud. His books are full of lies."

Their conversation is interrupted by Professor Flitwick, who distributes their timetables for the second year.

Flitwick: "Here you go, everyone. Your schedules for the year. Enjoy your classes!"

After having their breakfast, they enter the Transfiguration classroom, where Professor McGonagall is waiting for them. She introduces the "beetle to button" transfiguration spell and instructs them to practice it.

McGonagall: "Transfiguration can be challenging, but with practice, you'll get the hang of it. Remember, concentration and precision are key."

With her guidance, they practice the spell and make their beetles transform into buttons. After Transfiguration, they continue their classes, covering various subjects in their second-year curriculum.

Finally, the students gather for their last class of the day – Defense Against the Dark Arts. The room buzzes with anticipation as they eagerly await their new professor. When Gilderoy Lockhart enters the class, his smile is as blinding as ever.

Lockhart: "Good afternoon, everyone! I am Professor Lockhart, your new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher."

Harry: (whispering to Daphne) "This is going to be a disaster."

Lockhart announces that they will be facing a dangerous creature, which sends a shiver of excitement and fear through the students. Ron, in his typical fashion, questions the severity of the threat.

Lockhart responds with a grin, revealing a cage filled with Cornish pixies. The students burst into laughter.

Ron: "Why should we fear a bunch of pixies?"

Lockhart: "Now, now, don't underestimate these little creatures. They can be quite troublesome. See for yourselves!"

As Lockhart releases the pixies, chaos erupts. They fly around the classroom, causing the students to scream and laugh. When Ron continues to question the danger of the pixies, Lockhart makes a show of trying to stun them, but nothing happens.

Lockhart: "Don't worry, everyone. I've got this under control."

After a second failed attempt, the pixies manage to seize his wand and throw it out of the window, leaving Lockhart helpless. He promptly turns to the students for help, declaring it their task for the day is stunning the pixies before making a hasty exit.

Lockhart: "You lot handle this. I'll be right back!"

Frustrated by Lockhart's incompetence, Harry, Daphne, Hermione, and a few other students take matters into their own hands. They cast stunning spells on the pixies, finally restoring order to the classroom.

Harry: "We should leave for the Great Hall now."

After successfully subduing the pixies, they leave the classroom and head to the Great Hall for dinner. Once they finish their meal, Harry, Daphne, and Hermione retire to the Ravenclaw common room, answering the riddle posed by the portrait guarding the entrance.

As Harry lies in his bed, he takes out his two-way mirror, connecting with his family.

Lily: "How is your day, Harry?"

Harry: "Oh, you won't believe it, Mum. Lockhart is as bad as they say."

Sirius: "That bad, huh? I remember him from our school days, a real piece of work."

Remus: "But you and your friends managed it, right?"

Harry: "Yeah, we did. Hermione and Daphne were brilliant, as always."

Marlene: "It sounds like an eventful day. How are you settling in with your friends, Harry?"

Harry: "I think we're going to have a great year. It's nice having friends who've got your back."

Lyall: "That's wonderful to hear, Harry. Just remember to focus on your studies as well."

Hope: "And don't forget to enjoy your time at Hogwarts. These years will fly by."

Harry: "I will, Grandma. Thanks for being there for me."

They laugh, share their thoughts on the day, and discuss various events.
