Arashii sat on the bed, a pen in his hand and a notebook on his lap. He began planning out his training. He knew that if he were to survive in this world, he would have to work hard. Fortunately for him, working hard is nothing foreign.
'So first thing, I need to understand Chakra. As of now, there isn't a major change in my body's anatomy from earth, but I do notice a constant "warmth" underneath my skin. Maybe, if I meditate and focus on that "warmth", I will have unlocked my chakra. I can ask the doctor if that doesn't do it.
After unlocking my chakra, I will immediately move on to chakra control exercises. Start with leaf sticking exercise, then tree walking, After which comes water walking, and finally, the first step of the Rasengan. I should be able to spar in water, only then will I consider my chakra control good enough.
Chakra is a mixture of the power of our souls and our bodies. This would mean I need to spend at least 1-2 hours daily meditating, to improve the yin side of my chakra.
Meanwhile, to improve my frail body's strength, and to increase the yang side of my chakra, I should work out at least 3-4 hours everyday. Basic bodyweight workout should be good enough, and in case I need weights, I can use rocks here and there.
I'll follow this plan till the academy opens. I doubt I will be able to start water walking by the time the academy starts, but as of now, using chakra alone would make me happy enough.
I'll worry about Jutsu, be it Tai, Ken, Suriken, Nin or Gen, later. A strong base is first required before I can start training in those'
He sighed, and slept again. Having a Coma was tiring y'all.
Two days passed, and Inoshi discharged him. He walked back to the orphanage, barely able to contain his nervousness and excitement. This was Naruto. The very same Naruto world which he saw when he was a teen, struggling through poverty. He could see the beautiful trees surrounding the bright and colorful city, The Hokage mountain straight out of Mount Rushmore, The Hokage building, The dense forest, which he assumed was the Forest of death. All of this was real, not his imagination
He could go to Ichiraku and have their ramen, He could go to Yamanaka's flower shop and buy some flowers, he could go to the Deers of the Nara estate. It all felt unreal.
But he had to focus. All of this would be destroyed in a decade or two, and if he doesn't grow stronger, he will follow suit
He reached a 4 storied building, coloured white with glass windows on every room. He was told this was the orphanage, and it certainly looked the part. He entered the door, and saw a woman sitting on a desk, doing some paperwork
"Are you back, Arashi?" a bored voice said, without looking up. Her description was similar to that given in his diary, a short female in her 50s, wearing the Konoha Chunin dress.
"Yes Ma'am. May I have some food? I've been starving" Arashi replied
The matron couldn't care less, and just nodded her head, going back to her work. Arashi took this as a yes and went to the mess, and got his food. It wasn't the most nutritious food, nor the tastiest, but in a year, he would have to cook on his own anyway.
After finishing his lunch, he walked out, and went to the playgrounds. He noticed hundreds of kids playing various games. Games in Naruto were very shinobi based, so playing tag, or skipping rocks were REALLY enjoyable to young kids.
Arashi moved on to a nearby forest. Konoha was surrounded and packed with mini- forests, and it was absolutely beautiful. They provided a place of calmness, secrecy and serenity, a much needed contrast from the busy streets.
The tall lush green trees, roaring above the small buildings, bird chirpings spotting the atmosphere, The occasional rustling of grass from various small animals moving. This was peace. It was picturesque, almost unreal.
Arashi started jogging in circles, to start his warm up. He loved how everything looked so peaceful. "This might not be my original world, but goddamn will I do anything to protect this beauty. The world, the culture, the people, it's all surreal and beautiful."
Now motivated, he increased his pace of jogging, and continued to do so for half an hour.
Now, adequately warmed up. He started with push-ups. He couldn't do a single one in his earlier life, but this was a new body, a young one too.
He lied down, brought his body up by pushing his arms against the green earth, and lifted himself. He then dropped down, slowly, using his arms to control his movement. He repeated this for 15 times, when he started to feel his muscle strain.
'This is…So surreal. I've never been able to do a single one, and while I expected that I would be able to do some, to actually feel it…It feels so liberating.' Arashi thought to himself.
After having finished the 15 pushups, he laid on his back and folded his knees. He then raised his back up, till he had reached the knees. He repeated this 30 times, after which his abs started straining.
He repeated the last two exercises, the push ups and crutches, doing the same number of times, 3 more times. Arashi then moved on to the next exercises.
The next one was his dream. He wished to have been able to do it in his past life, and he now hoped he could. The dreaded pull up.
He jumped up, and held onto a branch. While hanging by his hands, he pushed his body upwards, till his neck reached the branch. He then slowly dropped his body down, while still hanging by his hands. He did this for 10 times, till his shoulders cried out and gave up.
While his shoulders hurt, he was smiling, Smiling the biggest smile he ever had since he proved everyone wrong last life. Arashi was so happy he could cry. He felt liberated, a huge weight lifted out of his body.
Arashi moved on to sit ups, a quite simple exercise. Keeping his foot a little wider than a shoulder's width apart, he pushed his hips behind as he bent down, making sure the knees don't move. He did these about 30 times, after which his thighs started to strain.
That was the common thing with all exercises, work out till the muscle just starts to strain, not stop when it starts to hurt.
He repeated the pull ups and sit ups 3 more times. He knew that he could do more, but didn't want to over-exert himself after coming out of the hospital.
Arashi then started his stretches. Stretching was very important, as not only would it improve his flexibility, it would improve his recovery speed for muscles as well, which meant he would grow stronger over a longer time. He stretched all his muscles a couple of times, holding each stretch for about a minute.
His work out was now over, and the work out satisfied him a lot, but that didn't mean he had finished his work.
'Now that I have worked out, I need to figure out this Chakra business.' Arashi contemplated, as he washed himself up using the river water.
The first thing that he thought of was to meditate, and focus on the subtle warm feeling under his skiing throughout the body.
He sat down on the meditation pose, which if he remembered correctly, was called muktasana. His legs crossed, his hands on his laps, facing downwards. Usually while meditating, you focus on your breathing and your body, but this time, Arashi focused on the warm feeling as well.
A deep breath in, a deep breath out. He repeated this for countless times, making sure to focus on the warm feeling, when suddenly, the warmth grew outwards, and escaped his skin. A very gentle breeze fluttered across his skin.
Arashi could see it, no, he could feel it. The light. The energy, flowing rapidly across his body, in coils and concentrated in some spots. The thing that allowed his body in this world to function, was just pure energy.
And he couldn't only see his own. He could see the chakra of the world too. A various amount of light, of all colors, speed, strength, intensity, rapidly passed through him at a flash of a second.
Arashi opened his eyes, and for the first time in this world, he felt truly alive. He felt connected to the world. He could feel the young stream racing downwards, the green grass waves running along the landscape, the large number of trees protecting the animals inside. He could feel all of them.
He then broke out of his meditation. He no longer could feel the landscape, but he still had that warmth, now a lot stronger, but more calm at the same time.
Arashi walked up to some fallen leaves, picked one of them up, and placed it on his forehead. He then focused on the warmth, focusing on exerting outwards on his forehead, making it pull up the leaf against the gravity. The leaf glued to his head for a couple of seconds, and fell down.
"So that is chakra.", Arashi told himself. The thing that kept this world running. It was like a muscle, a critical part of the body. And from his knowledge, the more he trained the chakra, the more he strained the "muscle", The stronger, larger and more potent it became.
He continued the leaf sticking exercise for another 10 minutes, and improved his time from 5-6 seconds to around a minute, after which, he noticed the energy fade slowly, and made him very tired.
His body and clothes were covered in sweat from the exercise and chakra usage. But Arashi was very satisfied. He had worked his brain out really hard before, and he could do it again with his body and Chakra.
He looked upwards towards the sky, about to go dark. Arashi could see the first stars shimmering, as the trees laid long shadows on the landscape, with an orange glow. He walked back to the orphanage, went back to his room, and slept.
