AN: Had a few of you wanting more of this or a fully story. I'm trying to avoid posting anything new, outside of one shots, until I have more stories completed but I can give a bit more for an epilogue/flash forward.

-Epilogue-
Leaning on his cane, Toshinori Yagi smiled and waved at the cheering audience as he stepped onto the talk show stage. It had been years since he was in the field, years since his 'real form' was revealed to the world, but seeing reactions like this despite his old bones never failed to make him smile.
"Hello Matt," he smiled to the talk show host, shaking the man's hand, "thanks for having me on."
"No, thank you." The host, Matt Gryphon who, ironically, had a gryphon quirk laughed, "It's always an honor to have heroes on my show, especially ones with as much history as you."
"Careful, too much flattery and you might swell this old man's head." All Might laughed, taking a seat in the plush chair set out for him, "But when I found out what you were talking about tonight, I couldn't find it in me to refuse."
"Oh my, that's quite the statement." Matt leaned in with an exaggerated grin, "So I take it you know Japan's new number one, the Everyman Hero: Dekiru, outside of just him taking your spot then?"
"Actually yes." All Might gave a tired, nostalgic, smile as even Matt seemed caught off guard "I met him before he even entered UA in point of fact. I'd been chasing a sludge villain and saved him from it." He saw Matt's eyes widening, the screen behind them playing the news footage of that day.
He let out a laugh, feeling it rattle his old bones as he thought back to that rooftop encounter "That crazy fanboy ended up holding on to my leg and flying off with me because he was desperate to ask a question. When I landed, we ended up having a heart to heart but that's when we heard the explosions in the distance." He glanced up to the screen where he could see the young man named Bakugo Katsuki trying to escape the sludge. The young man had made an excellent villain fighter, once he had tempered his ego at the very least. In the overall hero rankings, he was somewhere in the three hundreds last he checked.
"So that's why you weren't on the scene right away." Matt slammed a palm into his fist.
"That, and at the time my quirk was spent." All Might admitted, the truth of his quirk and its limit having come out years ago "I was barely able to move by the time I got down there. The, what do I see, but that same skinny fanboy I'd just spoken to charging at the slime villain to rescue a classmate. A classmate he didn't even get along with. There were 'pro heroes' on the scene who hadn't done anything because they had the wrong quirk." His grin was wide and, maybe just a hair vicious "Yet here was a skinny quirkless kid saving the day through his brain and what he could find on hand. That fight," he pointed at the screen with his cane "was the debut of Dekiru, Japan's first quirkless hero." He leaned back, letting the memories of his tenure as a UA teacher wash over him.
"After that, the boy trained. He honed his body to keep up with his mind. He made friends with a budding support technician who made him gear to use in place of a quirk like his classmates had. And, most importantly, he never lost the heroic spark I saw in him that day. Over time, and throughout the various catastrophes and even the war that followed, Dekiru showed that saving people was always his priority."
"Could you elaborate on that for me, don't all heroes save people?" Matt looked confused even if he didn't seem to disagree with All Might's statement.
"Several people with Pro Hero licenses don't prioritize saving people, the prioritize stopping villains." All Might corrected, "But stopping a villain is only a small part of what it means to be a hero. Many of his classmates, and even more licensed heroes, lost sight of that. When is aw Dekiru keeping that spark, that was when I knew he would take my place as the number one."
He gave a boisterous laugh and, with permission from Matt, put his own image up on the screen from where he'd recently returned from "I will admit I never expected him to steal my niece's heart though." On the screen it showed the wedding of Izuku and Melissa Midoriya, the two smiling happily even as Dave and him were admittedly sobbing like old hens in the pews.
"Well, I wish them all the best." Matt nodded, "Still, you mentioned before that he wanted to ask you a question that day? What did he ask? And what did you say?"
"He asked me if someone without a quirk could be a Hero." All Might laughed as if the very need to ask was ridiculous. And by now, it was. Dekiru had become the everyman hero. The hero that proved to everyone that anyone could be a hero regardless of quirk, that heart was what mattered most.
"And I told him 'Duh'." He laughed, the audience laughing happily with him as more and more people came out onto the stage to talk about their experiences with the world's first, and best, quirkless Hero.
