Episode 7: Ryuga vs Yuya
-You Show Duel School, Paradise City-
Ryuga recounted what happened a while ago.
Ryuga: Man, as I was hiding from the LID Students in the park, I met these 3 kids again along with their friend, Zuzu, and they were held captive by the same thugs from before, only this time their boss, Grizzlepike, came along. Red-Eyes and I Dueled him, and despite his Shaman Battleguard giving us some trouble, we were able to defeat them. And now, I'm about to finally meet Yuya Sakaki, son of Yusho Sakaki and the first Pendulum user.
Ryuga was now standing in front of the same building Bahamut brought him to. Standing with him was Zuzu and the 3 kids, Tate, Allie, and Frederick.
Allie: Here we are! It's an awesome place, don't you think?
Ryuga: Well, it has a unique feel to it.
Ryuga looked at the abstract building he came across during his second day at Paradise City.
Suddenly, they heard some kind of shouting.
?: WHAAAAAT!?
Zuzu and the kids sweatdropped as they knew who that was before turning nervously to Ryuga.
Zuzu: N-Nothing to worry about! That's just my Dad and another of his issues! (Laughs nervously)...
But when she turned around, an angry red aura surrounded her as she clenched her first and talked to herself.
Zuzu: Daaad… If we lose him because of your bad behavior, I'll never forgive YOU!
Ryuga sweatdropped at this as he remembered when he saw Zuzu punishing her Dad through the window.
Ryuga: (Some family dynamic…)
Meanwhile, the Dragons were having a conversation of their own.
Red-Eyes: Un-believable… We've been searching everywhere around the City for Yuya, and he was here of ALL places!?
His Dragon pride was wounded because Red-Eyes was the one who didn't believe that Yuya goes to a School like this the first time they came here, yet they were in the right location all along!
Blue-Eyes snickered at Red-Eyes' dismayed face.
Blue-Eyes: Well, you know what they say~; "never judge a book by their cover"~.
She said it in a sing-song voice. White Night watched this before turning to Bahamut, who was deep in thought as he had his arms crossed.
-Lounge Room, You Show Duel School, Paradise City-
At the Lounge Room, everyone was present except Zuzu and the kids, which Skip noticed. They turned towards Sora and Skip didn't like what he heard.
Skip: YOU LEFT ZUZU AND THE KIDS ALL ALONE THERE!?
Sora and everyone else had their ears closed so they wouldn't get deaf.
Sora: I just left her in charge of the kids, Zuzu can take care of herself!
Yuya: But what if those goons from last time attack her and the kids?
Sora: Relax. Remember, I taught Zuzu how to Fusion Summon.
Sora said casually as he went licking back his lollipop.
Gong: Yeah. But did you teach her how to handle them when they use underhanded tactics!?
That made Sora stop as he thought about it.
Sora: Actually, I don't think we're there yet.
Now Sora was starting to get a little worried.
Yuya: Come on, guys. We better go check on Zuzu and the kids and see if they're okay.
But right when Yuya was about to open the door, it opened itself as Nate, Allie, Frederick, and lastly Zuzu entered the Lounge.
Tate: Hey guys!
Allie: We're back!
Everyone felt relieved at seeing Zuzu and the kids.
Yuya: Zuzu! You're alright!
Zuzu blinked in confusion.
Zuzu: What do you mean?
Skip: ZUZU!
Skip went full overbearing Daddy Mode as he went to hug Zuzu… Only to be slapped down the ground by Zuzu's fan.
Zuzu: Knock it off, Dad!
After a while, they started explaining to Zuzu why they were so relieved to see her.
Zuzu: I see… Believe it or not you guys, we were held hostage by Grizzlepike and his thugs.
That shocked everyone in the room, especially Yuya and Gong as they had a history with Grizzlepike.
Gong: Grizzlepike!?
Yuya: He attacked you!?
Frederick: Yeah! It was scary!
Allie: But luckily, he appeared again!
Tate: Uhuh! That Duelist saved us just like last time!
Yuya: Last time? Do you mean…
Zuzu then turned towards the open door and called out.
Zuzu: Alright! You can come in now!
Ryuga, who was hiding behind the wall next to the door, breathed in before entering the Lounge Room, meeting the rest of the class. He then presented himself to them.
Ryuga: Hi there! My name is Ryuga Shirogane.
Yuya: You're the Gemini Duelist that saved our students!
Ryuga sweatdropped when he heard that name.
Ryuga: Yeah… That's what everyone started calling me…
Skip: I should be thanking you! You not only saved my students once, but you did again as well as saving my precious daughter!
Ryuga: No need for that. I'm just doing what everyone should do, helping those in need.
Gong: Gong is glad that there are some Duelists with a sense of nobility.
Skip: Oh right, we've forgotten to introduce ourselves! My name is Skip Boyle, and I'm the Headmaster of this fine School! You already met my precious daughter, Zuzu.
Zuzu became a little annoyed at her Dad describing her like that.
Sora: My name is Sora Pierce. I'm a Fusion Summoner, just so you know.
The young boy said it while licking his lollipop.
Gong: The name's Gong Strong! Heir to the Strong Dojo!
Ryuga immediately recognized that name.
Ryuga: Gong? A friend of mine, Celeste, said she fought a powerful Duelist at that Dojo and ended in a draw!
Yuya was surprised to hear that as he turned to Gong.
Yuya: Whoa! Is that true, Gong?
Gong: Sure is! Gong could tell she is a powerful Duelist and has a strong bond with her Monsters!
Yuya: Is see…
Yuya then turned to Ryuga as he introduced himself.
Yuya: My name is Yuya Sakaki! A pleasure to meet you, Ryuga!
Ryuga was surprised to hear that.
Ryuga: (So he's Yuya, the Son of Yusho and the first Pendulum User!)
He quickly recognizes Yuya as an image of his 11 year old self appears in front of him.
Ryuga: It's a great honor to meet you.
They reached each other to shake hands, but when they made contact, a sudden shock felt through them, and so did Odd-Eyes and Bahamut. They stepped back in surprise as the others looked at them in confusion.
Zuzu: Is everything alright?
Yuya: Yeah… I think so…
In reality, Yuya didn't know what just happened, and so did Ryuga.
Ryuga: Anyway, it's great to meet the son of Yusho. I saw you on TV 3 years ago, b7t it was only one time. If I had known you would have Dueled the Sledgehammer, I would have known sooner.
Yuya felt bashful hearing that.
Yuya: So you know my Dad?
Ryuga: I think nearly the entire world knows who he is.
Yuya felt embarrassed after hearing that.
Yuya: Oh yeah, right! That makes sense!
Zuzu: Looks like you have another Fan, Yuya.
Yuya: I don't mind, actually.
The "number 1" Fan, Sora, gave Yuya a grumpy look.
Sora: He didn't say the same thing when I was his Fan…
Ryuga: You're also the first and only Pendulum user in the world!
Yuya was glad to hear that, although he had to let them know something.
Yuya: Thanks, Ryuga. But I'm not the only Pendulum user anymore.
Ryuga: Huh?
Ryuga was confused at that as Yuya continued.
Yuya: Declan, the President of the Leo Corporation and Headmaster of the Leo Institute of Dueling, was able to make his own Pendulum cards. So very soon, everyone will be able to Pendulum Summon.
Ryuga: I see…
Ryuga should expect from the Leo Corporation since they make the Duel Monsters cards.
Sora: Hate to interrupt, but there's also Pendulum users out there that the Leo Institute are looking for, and we don't even know who the guy is!
Yuya: Yeah, that's true…
Ryuga tried to keep a poker face when he heard this.
Ryuga: (Perhaps I should keep the news that I'm that Pendulum user hidden for a little while…)
Skip: Anyways, enough about that! Let's skip all the formalities and give a warm welcome to our new student, Ryuga!
Ryuga: Eh…?
Ryuga was surprised at what Skip suddenly said.
Zuzu: Dad! You shouldn't rush things like that! We don't know if he's going to another School or not!
Ryuga: Well, I'm not registered in any School, so I'm open, but…
Skip: That means you can join our School!
The Headmaster said joyfully much to Zuzu's annoyance.
Ryuga: I'm planning to enter the Junior Arc League Championship, so I'm looking for a great School to enter, but I'm not planning to enter any School.
Zuzu: So why not here?
Allie: Yeah! We've seen you Duel so you'd be great!
Tate: I know you'll make a great Duelist to represent us!
Ryuga saw that they really wanted him to join, so he said this.
Ryuga: I wish to see firsthand the spirit of your School. If you can prove to me your determination and firmness in your beliefs, then I'll consider it.
The room remained silent for a while, apparently nervous whether they would be able to meet Ryuga's expectations or not, till Yuya spoke up.
Yuya: Alright, Ryuga, if that's how you want then I'll be your opponent!
He issued the challenge with fire and passion in his eyes, which Ryuga could feel.
Ryuga: Very well, Yuya! Get ready to throw down!
The kids were excited to see a Duel between their Hero, Ryuga, and their Idol, Yuya.
Tate: Oh man, this is gonna be an awesome Duel!
Frederick: I can feel the shivers already!
The only one who wasn't excited was Sora.
Sora: Oh man… I wanted to Duel him…
-Duel Arena, You Show Duel School, Paradise City-
Arriving at the Duel Arena, Ryuga and Yuya stood at each end of the field. Ryuga noticed the field was a smaller version from the one back at the Duel Stadium.
Everybody else were spectators as they were watching from behind a window in a room.
Sora: Man! I wanted to Duel him!
Skip was in the control room as he looked at the 2 Duelists from behind the window.
Skip: So then! What kind of Action Duel would you guys like to play in?
Yuya: I'm good with any field really.
Yuya then looked at Ryuga.
Yuya: How about you pick one, Ryuga?
Ryuga started thinking.
Ryuga: Well… I'd be happy with a field that's suitable for beginners, but not too easy. I'd also appreciate it if it were also exciting, but not too dangerous.
Skip: Hmm… That's a tricky one.
He then shuffled through the possible choices on his screen before selecting one.
Skip: Okay then, how about this!? A showdown in the Wild West!
Skip activated the Action Field, Wild West, which shows a familiar field in the card.
Arc System: AUGMENTED REALITY COMBAT SYSTEM, ENERGIZED. GENERATING ACTION FIELD.
The Arc System activated underneath the black floor, engulfing in white light, and appearing from it was a town of the Old West with the Sun setting. Sora was unimpressed as this was almost the first field he Dueled before going for Sweet Island.
Sora: This field? Really…?
Ryuga: This is incredible!
Ryuga could feel the wind and dust blowing around, a tumbleweed being blown by it, the heat of the setting sound, and the sound of sand being stomped by his shoes.
The Dragons were impressed as well.
Red-Eyes: Heh! This is actually not half-bad. Never thought Humans would be capable of something like this!
Blue-Eyes: Indeed. That means that we can interact with Ryuga instead of being just Spirits.
Blue-Eyes talked to herself as Bahamut and White Night looked around silently.
Ryuga then walked towards one of the wooden buildings and pressed a hand on it, feeling the wooden texture on it.
Ryuga: I've never thought Solid Vision could feel this real!
Yuya was surprised when he heard Ryuga say that.
Yuya: Huh? You mean this is your first Action Duel!?
Ryuga: Well… Um…
Ryuga scratched his head in embarrassment, fortunately, the kids were there to explain.
Allie: Oh yeah! We forgot to tell you that Ryuga lives in a town!
Tate: There aren't any Action Duels there.
Zuzu: Wow. So you're from the country, huh?
Ryuga: Yeah… 'though I wish people would stop treating it as if it's something uncommon…
Yuya: That's just fine! If you haven't taken part in Action Duels before, I'll gladly be your first teacher!
Ryuga felt grateful.
Ryuga: Thanks, Yuya.
Yuya: So, are you ready for your first Action Duel?
Ryuga: I'm a little nervous though…
Yuya: Aw! You don't have to be, Ryuga!
Ryuga: Okay, then show me how you and your Monsters do things here!
Yuya: Glady! I wouldn't disappoint! So…
Ryuga: Let's get this show on the road shall we?
Yuya and Ryuga: Let 's Duel!
Arc System: ACTION CARDS, DISPERSED.
The sphere holding the Action Cards bursted and they rained down on the field as Yuya and Ryuga's Duel began.
Yuya: I'll make the first move. I draw!
Yuya looked at the card he drew and saw it was one of his favorite Monsters.
Yuya: And I'll start the show by summoning Performapal Hip Hippo!
The pink Hippo Yuya used during his Duel with the Sledgehammer appeared. He took his hat off and greeted everyone with a bow.
ATK: 800
Level 3
Yuya: Time to show Ryuga how fun an Action Duel really is, Hippo!
Yuya hopped on Hippo's back and with surprising jumping, Hip Hippo jumped into the roof of one of the buildings.
Yuya: See, Ryuga? You can work and interact with your Monsters in ways you can only dream off!
Ryuga and his Dragons were awed and started to really like this Action Duel.
Yuya: I'll end my turn with this. Now it's your turn to join in on the fun!
Yuya's hand: 5
Set Cards: 0
Ryuga: Alright, I draw! And first I'll summon Blazewing Butterfly!
ATK 1500
Level 4
Nate: That card is a Gemini Monster too.
Allie: What does it do?
Ryuga was going to show what it can do.
Ryuga: And I help unleash my Butterfly's power with the Spell, Super Double Summon!
The Spell unleashed Blazewing Butterfly's power as its wings released flames.
Ryuga: Now that her ability is unleashed, she can use her Gemini Cocoon!
At his command, Blazewing Butterfly let out a flame silk that spun around and in a few moments the Insect was inside a cocoon of flames.
Yuya and his Hippo looked nervously at the cocoon of flames.
Yuga: What will come out of that cocoon?
Ryuga: Simple. Coming out of that cocoon will be another Gemini Monster! One that's coming straight from my Deck!
Yuya was surprised to hear that.
Yuya: What?! From your Deck!?
The cocoon then exploded and emerging from it was a familiar Dragon.
Ryuga: Say hello to Chthonian Emperor Dragon!
The white Gemini Monster that Tate and friends saw appeared on the field.
Chthonian Emperor Dragon: (Shriek)...!

Level 7
Sora: He summoned a Monster with 2400 Attack Points, just like that?
The spectators were impressed by this move.
Ryuga: Now go, Emperor! Blast that Hippo with Emperor's Flame!
Chthonian Emperor Dragon reared his head and fired a stream of flames at Yuya and Hippo. But before the attack hit, Yuya grabbed an Action card and used it.
Yuya: Not so fast! I activate the Action Spell, Evasion! Let's jump, Hippo!
Hip Hippo jumped from the roof he was standing to dodge the flame, did a somersault, and landed on another roof from the the other side of the Town, then Yuya landed next on Hippo's back.
Ryuga watched this small act Yuya did, but he wasn't frustrated as he smiled at Yuya.
Ryuga: That was nice, Yuya, but you're not out of the woods yet!
Yuya: Huh?
Tate and the others did know what he meant as they've seen it before!
Allie: Oh no! Run away, Yuya!
Frederick: Hurry, before that Dragon gets you!
Zuzu: Huh? What are you kids talking about?
Tate: That Dragon's Gemini Ability, it allows him to attack 2 times!
Zuzu and Sora: Huh!?
Gong: Say what!?
Now that surprised Zuzu, along with Sora and Gong.
Unknown to Yuya and Hippo, a shadow rose behind them.
Zuzu: Behind you, Yuya!
Yuya was confused, but when he turned around, he saw a black Chthonian Dragon had sneaked behind him and Hippo surprising them.
Yuya: Whoa!
Ryuga: Now it's time for the second attack!
The black Chthonian Emperor prepared to fire a stream of flames, Hippo jumped off the roof to the floor and ran to another building, right when the Dragon fired and made contact with Hippo and Yuya in an explosion.
Ryuga: Did I get him?
The smoke cleared and revealed Yuya standing with Hippo by his side. And his Life Points didn't drop as much as expected.
Yuya's LP: 4000-3200
Ryuga: Was that another Action Card?
Yuya: That's right! The Action Spell, Miracle!
Yuya showed the Action Card to Ryuga.
Yuya: This Spell prevents my Hippo from being destroyed, and I'll only take half the damage I'd received!
Normally, Ryuga would be frustrated, but he smiled at this as this Action Duels gives him the trills that he wanted.
Ryuga: If that's how you're going to play. I put one card facedown and I end my turn with that!
Ryuga's facedown appeared on his field.
Ryuga's hand: 3
Set cards: 1
Ryuga: But first, I really want to try this!
Ryuga quickly hopped on Chthonian Emperor Dragon who then soared above the field. Ryuga did that to look for Action Cards, but he couldn't help himself but enjoy this new experience.
Ryuga: Wow! I'm actually riding on my Dragon!
Yuya could see the enjoyment on Ryuga's face as smiled.
Yuya: I remember the first time I rode a Dragon. It sure was fun.
Yuya recalled when he was 10 the time he summoned Odd-Eyes Dragon, and he hitched a ride on the Dragon's back, which Odd-Eyes seemed to enjoy.
Ryuga's Dragons were watching their master riding a Dragon for the first time and smiled at him having fun… except Blue-Eyes, who seemed to be jealous.
Blue-Eyes: No fair! I wanted to give him a ride!
Red-Eyes laughed at this while Bahamut put a claw of comfort on Blue-Eye's shoulder.
Bahamut: Don't worry. You'll give Ryuga plenty of rides in the future.
Yuya then began his turn.
Yuya: As much as I like seeing you having fun, I believe it's my turn! I draw!
Yuya's draw generated sparkles when he drew.
Yuya: I play the Spell, Performapal Recasting!
The Spell card showed Hip Hippo and Swordfish hiding behind a red sheet as two spotlights tried to shine on them.
Yuya: With this card, I'll reveal any Performapal that's in my hand!
In Yuya's hand is Performapal Whip Snake, Swordfish, and Friend Donkey.
Yuya: I now send Performapal Whip Snake, Swordfish, and Friend Donkey back to my Deck.
He sent the 3 cards back to the Deck and they were shuffled.
Yuya: Now I can draw the same number of cards I sent to my Deck plus one more!
Ryuga: That means he can draw 4 new cards!
Ryuga was impressed at such a move as Yuya drew 4 new cards. One of them is his favorite Monster. The spotlight then shone on him as he addressed the spectators.
Yuya: Your attention, please! As some of you already know, my Hip Hippo has the amazing ability to be counted as 2 Monsters when he's Tributed!
Ryuga knew what was coming.
Ryuga: Here he comes…
Bahamut had his full attention on this.
Yuya: Get ready for the main attraction!
Hip Hippo stood on his hind legs and bowed with his hat off before being Tributed.
Yuya: Now appearing the star of the show! The wondrous, Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!
The evolved form of Odd-Eyes appeared on the field with a dragon roar.
Odd-Eyes: (Roar)...!

Ryuga: (So that 's his Dragon. I can feel the strong connection he has with Yuya..)
Bahamut was silent as he was staring intently at Odd-Eyes.
Yuya then climbed on Odd-Eyes neck as he commenced the attack.
Yuya: Now, Odd-Eyes! Attack Ryuga's Emperor Dragon!
Odd-Eyes: (Roar)...!
Odd-Eyes charged at them and Ryuga knew he should now use an Action card. He looked around and found one. He immediately jumped off his Dragon and grabbed it.
Ryuga: I'll activate the Action Spel… Hey, wait a minute?
He looked closer and noticed it doesn't have the color frame of a Spell card.
Ryuga: A Trap?
The spectators became worried when they heard that.
Zuzu: Oh boy…
Allie: Ryuga, that 's an Action Trap!
Ryuga: An Action Trap?
Ryuga looked at what the card says.
Ryuga: "Lousy Luck". "This card will deal you 800 points of DAMAGE!?"
As he said that, the card began electrocuting him.
BZZZZZZZZTH!
Ryuga: AAAACK!
Ryuga was smoking from electrocution as he lost some Lifepoints.
Ryuga's LP: 4000-3200
Sora: Yep. He had lousy luck.
Chthonian Emperor Dragon went to check on his Master, before noticing Odd-Eyes had jumped for the attack.
Yuya: Now! Spiral Flame Strike!
Odd-Eyes released a spiral of crimson flames. The Emperor Dragon immediately went to shield Ryuga using his wings, right when the flames hit.
Yuya: Just so you know, when Odd-Eyes destroys a Level 7 or higher Monster, the damage is doubled! Reaction Force!
Odd-Eyes chest sphere, along with the 3 spheres on the large spikes of his back glowed. Dark red rings came out of Odd-Eyes mouth that merged with the flames, increasing its power.
The Emperor Dragon was overpowered and destroyed and the explosion sent Ryuga flying onto his back.
Ryuga's LP: 3200-3000
Yuya: H-Hey! Are you alright?
Ryuga was silent and that made Yuya and the others worried.
Skip: YUYA! How could you do that to our newcomer!?
Yuya was surprised at Skip suddenly scolding him.
Yuya: I-I didn't mean to!
Zuzu: Dad! Don't make me come over there!
Suddenly, they heard laughing. They all turned to Ryuga as he was laughing hard while covering his eyes.
Ryuga: (Laughs)...!
Yuya: Ryuga? Are you okay?
Ryuga then got back up as he swiped his tears of laughter.
Ryuga: Yeah… I'm okay. Sorry that I made it look weird. I may have gotten shocked and blown away from an explosion in front of my face, but this is just incredible! You'll never experience that in a regular Duel!
Yuya and spectators were impressed at Ryuga clearly enjoying the Duel, despite the damage he took. Same goes for his Dragons.
Sora: He sure likes to have fun, does he?
He licked his lollipop when he said it.
Yuya: I'll end my turn with 2 facedowns! You're up, Ryuga! Show us more what you can do!
Yuya's Hand: 3
Set Cards: 2
Ryuga: Gladly! I draw!
Ryuga saw that he drew his own Ace Monster.
Ryuga: Alright! First, I'll activate the Spell Monster Reborn, so I can summon a Monster from the Graveyard!
Frederick: Is he going to bring back his Dragon?
What Ryuga is going to summon from the Graveyard will really surprise them.
Ryuga: The one I'll be summoning… is Hip Hippo!
Hippo returned to the field, only to realize in surprise that he's not in Yuya's field.
ATK: 800
Level 3
Yuya and the spectators were surprised too.
Yuya: My Hippo!?
Ryuga: That's right. And I'll use his ability now so I can Tribute Summon!
Hippo vanished and a blue pillar of light appeared.
Ryuga: Time to show us your might! Platinum Burst Dragon, Bahamut!
Inside the pillar of light, the Dragon clenched his claws into fists as Bahamut let out a roar.
Bahamut: (Roar)...!
ATK 3000
Level 8
Skip, and everyone in the spectator room was surprised at Bahamut's appearance.
Sora: No way…
Zuzu: That Dragon is incredible…
Gong: And it has 3000 attack power! Yuya is in real trouble now!
Yuya was awed at seeing such a Monster.
Yuya: I've never seen a Dragon like that before…
Ryuga: Then you'll see how powerful he is! Bahamut! Attack with Supreme Dragon Strike!
Bahamut gathered a blue sphere of electric energy in his mouth and was about to fire. Yuya and Odd-Eyes then began to run from them.
Yuya: I'll need an Action Card!
Yuya then noticed one the floor ahead.
Yuya: There!
But it was too late as Bahamut fired his attack and it came fast. Yuya noticed this and jumped off Odd-Eyes, right when the attack engulfed the Dragon and destroyed him, right when Yuya grabbed the Action card.
BOOM!
Yuya: AAAAH!
The force of the explosion sent Yuya flying as he rolled on the ground before stopping.
Yuya's LP: 3200-2700
Sora: That attack came so fast, Yuya wasn't able to use his Action card in time.
Zuzu: Come on, Yuya! Get up!
Bahamut landed near Ryuga now that his attack was done.
Ryuga: I'll end my turn.
Ryuga looked at Yuya who was slowly getting back up.
Ryuga's Hand: 2
Set cards: 1
Ryuga: Are you okay, Yuya?
Yuya: Yeah…
Yuya stood back on his feet as he faced Ryuya and Bahamut.
Yuya: The Duel seemed to have to have swung your way, now it's time for it to swing my way!
Yuya drew and saw it was Stargazer Magician, and in his hand is Timegazer Magician. Now he has what he needs to make a big comeback.
Yuya: Alright, ladies and gentlemen. The moment you've all been waiting for is about to start!
The kids knew what this meant.
Tate: He's going to Pendulum Summon!
Yuya grabbed his two cards and showed them to Ryuga.
Yuya: With my Scale 1 Stargazer Magician, and my Scale 8 Timegazer Magician, I'll set the Pendulum Scale and take control of this Duel now!
Yuya put the Pendulum cards on his Duel Disk, and the colorful words, Pendulum, appear on it, and Stargazer and Timegazer Magician rose in a pillar of light with the Pendulum Number Scales appear underneath them. A portal appeared, and three lights of different color came out as Yuya summoned his Monsters.

The Trap card showed a Beast facing a wall that has a face.
Ryuga: Since you summoned, I call a Level 4 or lower Monster from my hand in Defense Mode! Come, Gemini Summoner
Appearing on the field is a black robed and masked Spellcaster.

The spectators were a little confused at Ryuga's move.
Zuzu: Why would Ryuga summon a Monster with 0 Defense points?
Sora: I don't know. We'll have to wait and see what happens.
Yuya smiled despite not knowing what Ryuga's up to.
Yuya: Well since you use a Trap card, then I guess I'll use one as well! Go, Danger Draw!
The Trap showed a Duelist with a glowing card he drew, while being surrounded by purple Ghosts.
Zuzu and Gong quickly recognized that card.
Zuzu: Gong, is that…
Gong: Yeah! That's the card Yuya used during our Duel!
Yuya sended the Action card he grabbed to the Graveyard.
Yuya: By sending a card from my hand to the Graveyard, I can draw 1 card! And if it's a Monster, I'll take damage equal to their Attack Points!
The Dragons were impressed at this daring move.
Red-Eyes: So he risks getting damaged just to draw a card? I'll admit, that kid got guts.
Yuya breathed in before drawing, and it was the card he needed.
Yuya: And guess what? It's the Spell Magical Pendulum Box! And I'm using it now!
The Spell Yuya activated showed a Pendulum with a diamond shaped purple gem swinging around in circles and making a portal.
Yuya: This allows me to draw 2 cards, any Pendulum Monster I draw goes to my hand, the rest goes to the Graveyard.
Yuya placed his fingers on his Deck again.
Yuya: Here goes!
Yuya looked at what he drew.
Yuya: I drew Performapal Trump Witch and Performapal Springoose. Now everything is set!
Zuzu: Alright! Yuya is on a roll!
Zuzu and the others knew what's coming next as Yuya send Springoose to the Graveyard.
Yuya: I send Springoose to the Graveyard… and then I activate its ability! By banishing it, I can return my Pendulum Monsters back to my hand!
The Performapal Goose with a spring for his midriff appeared and sent Stargazer and Timegazer back to Yuya's hand.
Yuya: Now I set the Pendulum Scale again with Trump Witch and Timegazer Magician!
Timegazer went back to his place in the Pendulum Zone, next to him is Trump Witch, a Humanoid Witch in blue clothes, and her Scale Number 4 appeared underneath her.
Ryuga: You reset your Pendulum Scale? Why?
Bahamut: (Pendulum Summon can only happen once per turn, so he's planning something…)
Yuya: I'll show you why! But first, I Tribute my Drumorilla to summon Stargazer Magician!
The Gorilla with drums for chests left the field and Stargazer appeared in his place.

Trump Witch released her magic in the forms of symbols from her staff that touched the ground and made a Fusion portal.

Ryuga and his Dragons were surprised at this.
Both Odd-Eyes and Silver Claw rose in the air as they spun around and merged.
Yuya: Watch as I merge the ferocious Dragon with the fangs of the Beast to create an even powerful creature! I Fusion Summon, Beast-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!
Beast-Eyes Pendulum Dragon was a Fusion of Odd-Eyes with the powers of the wild Beasts. He lost his beak and has a Beastly maw instead. His red and green eyes are now that of a Beast instead of a Dragon. The horns on the sides of his head are now straight upwards with dark blue feathers on the sides of the horns as well on his neck. His face, chest, legs and upper tail are now covered in bony armor. The spikes on his back are now made of bone structure as well. The right boney spike is like a lance, while the left is thick instead.

Gong: That's the Dragon Yuya defeated Gong with!
Yuya: And I'm not done! I'll Stargazer Magician Special Ability! When a Pendulum Monster leaves the field, once per turn, Stargazer can use his magic and bring my Odd-Eyes back!
Odd-Eyes came back to the field.
Allie: Yay! Odd-Eyes is back!
Ryuga: As incredible as it is now that you have 2 Dragons, it isn't enough, Yuya!
Yuya only smiled at that.
Yuya: Well, how about this then? I'll activate the Spell Big Return!
Yuya's last Facedown flipped up and showed a red number 1 flying around while leaving a streak behind.
Yuya: This Spell allows me to use a card that has already used its Special Ability so I can use it again!
Ryuga was surprised at the power of such Spell.
Ryuga: Hold on, that means you're going to use…
Yuya: That's right! I'll activate Trump Witch Pendulum Ability again!
Trump Witch used her power once again as it enveloped both Stargazer and Odd-Eyes. They both lifted in the air and started to merge.
Yuya: I'll now fuse Odd-Eyes with Stargazer Magician. I Fusion Summon, Rune-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!
Appearing on the field was another Fusion Dragon.
Rune-Eyes Pendulum Dragon lost his beak like Beast-Eyes, and his red eye is covered in a metallic eyepatch with a rune on it. A golden ring replaced the horns on the sides of his head. The back of his tail and neck are gold instead of red. The spikes on his back have also been replaced by an even bigger, golden ring.

Blue-Eyes: He has 2 Fusion Dragons now!
Red-Eyes: Perhaps I underestimated this kid.
Zuzu looked a little worried at this.
Zuzu: Isn't it a bit much for Yuya to use all 2 of his Dragons against Ryuga?
Sora: Nah, I think Yuya did the right thing summoning those Dragons. Then we can see how Ryuga can deal with it.
Ryuga was ready for Yuya and his 2 Fusion Dragons.
Yuya: Alright! Here we go! Beast-Eyes, attack Ryuga's Gemini Summoner!
Beast-Eyes: (Roar)...!
Beast-Eyes let out a beastly roar as he charged in the field. Ryuga looked for another Action card until he found one sticking on a wooden pillar.
Ryuga: (An Action card!)
Ryuga ran ahead for it, but right when he's about to grab it, Yuya got it first as he jumped upside down with Ryuga looking in surprise while Yuya smiled.
Yuya landed on the other side as he held the Action card.
Ryuga: Hey!
Yuya: Sorry, Ryuga. Now Beast-Eyes! Attack with Blazing Spiral Storm!
Beast-Eyes jumped in the air and fired from his mouth a spiral of flames in the shape of his head that roared. It hit Gemini Summoner and created an explosion.
Yuya: And when Beast-Eyes destroys a Monster, you'll take damage equal to Silver Claw's Attack Points since he was used to Fusion Summon Beast-Eyes! That's 1800 Attack Points coming your way!
Ryuga: Well it's a good thing that you attacked my Gemini Summoner.
Yuya: Huh?
Yuya was surprised at Ryuga's calm statement, until he turned around and saw to his surprise that Gemini Summoner survived by being shrouded in a red barrier.
Tate: His Monster survived?!
Allie: But how?!
Ryuga: It's one of Gemini Summoner' s Special Abilities. Once per turn, he can't be destroyed in battle!
Sora: So that's why summoned that Monster!
Sora was now impressed at Ryuga's move.
Yuya: If that's the case, then I'll finish it with Rune-Eyes!
Yuya hopped on Rune-Eyes before addressing Ryuga.
Yuya: And just so you know, Ryuga! You see, my Rune-Eyes gains a number of attacks depending on the Level of the Spellcaster I used to Fusion Summon! Stargazer is Level 5, so Rune-Eyes can now attack 3 times this turn!
3 white energy orbs appeared on the big ring on Rune's Eyes back, and connected in energy strings, forming a triangle.
Ryuga: Even if Rune-Eyes can attack 3 times, he will simultaneously be destroyed with Bahamut!
Yuya: Well not if I use this! The Action Spell Nanana!
The Action Spell showed a Banana with a face that bent into 7.
Yuya: Now my Rune-Eyes gain 700 Attack Points until the end of this turn!
The Spell powered up Rune-Eyes.

Ryuga: Now Rune-Eyes is stronger than Bahamut!

Yuya: Go, Rune-Eyes! Triple Spiral Skyshot!
Rune-Eyes released a white beam from one of the orbs on his ring, and Gemini Summoner was destroyed this time.
Yuya: Now, attack Bahamut!
Ryuga: Hold it right there, Yuya! I'll activate Dragonborn Mermaid from my hand!
The new Dragonborn is a cross between a Mermaid and a slim Humanoid Dragon. She has an azure Mermaid tail with light blue fins. Her upper buddy is light blue as well except for her chest, back, shoulders, hands, and lower jaw, which is white. Her chest is engraved with Ryuga's birthmark in azure color. There are two fins running behind her head. Her eyes are azure and have azure eyeshadow as well. In her hands is a blue trident that has the birthmark engraved as well.
Ryuga: By sending this card from my hand to the Graveyard, my Bahamut isn't destroyed!
A watery barrier surrounded Bahamut and protected him from the beam as it exploded, but Ryuga took damage and lost 700 Life Points.
Ryuga: Ugh!

Ryuga: And then, I can destroy one card on the field except the attacking Monster! I choose your Beast-Eyes!
Ryuga pointed at Beast-Eyes and the aquatic barrier glowed shimmering blue before firing at Beast-Eyes and destroying him.
Gong: Gong is impressed! His Monsters style is just like Gong's Monsters!
Yuya: The third attack is still coming! Now, Rune-Eyes!
Rune-Eyes fired his final attack, and this time there was nothing for Ryuga to protect Bahamut.
Bahamut fired his own beam attack and collided with Rune-Eyes'. However, the beam overpowered Bahamut and got blasted by Rune-Eyes' attack.
Ryuga LP: 2300-1600
Ryuga dropped to one knee as he lost some Life Points.
Yuya: And with that, I end my turn!
Ryuga remained silent, which worried Yuya and the spectators.
Zuzu: Is he alright?
Sora: I don't know… It's hard to say from here…
Yuya: Ryuga? Are you alright?
There was a few seconds of silence, until Ryuga responded.
Ryuga: Oh yeah… this is the most exciting feeling I've ever heard in my entire life. And this is the first time I've ever seen Bahamut being defeated. This is the first time…
Ryuga raised his head up with a smile and had Dragon-like eyes.
Ryuga: That I have to give my all!
Yuya was surprised and so was everyone.
Sora: Wait, so he wasn't fighting his all?
Gong: It seems that way!
Ryuga: I draw!
Ryuga drew his card in a passionate way.
Skip: Whoa! Never have I seen a Duelist draw with such passion!
Tate: That's so cool!
Frederick: Yeah!
Sora: Whatever card he drew, he should hope it would change his situation, since he has no cards on his field, it will be difficult for him to make a comeback.
Ryuga heard that, and knew what he would reveal would surprise everyone.
Ryuga: Well, Sora, I'm sure what I'll do next will surprise you!
He showed everyone the card he drew, and everyone was surprised to see the familiar green color on it.
Yuya: A Pendulum Monster!?
Ryuga: Using the Scale 3 Platinum Priest Dragon, I set the Pendulum Scale!
Ryuga put the card on the left Pendulum Zone, and his new Dragon appeared in a pillar of light.
An Eastern Platinum Dragon with a dark underbelly. He has a long body and 3 digits on his arms and legs. In his hand he's carrying a blue orb that has Bahamut's symbol glowing in it. He has long flowing white hair coming behind his head, 2 dark gray horns, as well as gray claws, and blue eyes.
The Scale number 3 appeared under him.
Yuya was surprised to see this as Ryuga continued.
Ryuga: I'll activate my Platinum Priest Dragon Pendulum Ability? Since I have an open Pendulum Zone, I can place another Platinum Pendulum Monster from my Deck to my Pendulum Zone and have this card Pendulum Scale become 9!
Ryuga drew his new card from his Deck while the Pendulum Scale rose up to 9.
Ryuga I now complete the Pendulum Scale with Platinum Priestess Dragon!
He put the female Platinum Dragon in the Pendulum Zone, and now his Pendulum Scale is complete.
Ryuga: Now I can summon Monsters from Level 3 to 8! Mighty power filled with infinite potential, lead the path to victory! I Pendulum Summon!
A blue beam of light came out of the Pendulum portal.
Ryuga: Platinum Burst Dragon Bahamut!
His ace Monster, Bahamut, returned to the field.
Bahamut: (Roar)...!

Everyone was shocked to see that Ryuga could Pendulum Summon.
Tate: Ryuga can Pendulum Summon!?
Zuzu: So the Gemini Duelist and the guy that can Pendulum Summon are one and the same person!?
Gong: Seems like it!
Yuya: Where did you learn to use Pendulum Summoning?
Yuya always thought that he was the only one who could do a Pendulum Summon. But then that changed when Declan unlocked the secrets of Pendulum Summoning and now he could use it too.
Ryuga: Remember your match with the Sledgehammer? Well, what happened to you there happened to me as well.
Yuya: What happened to me? Ah!
Yuya recalled that during his duel with the Sledgehammer, he felt down as he had no way of beating him. But then something miraculous happened as his cards had changed and he Pendulum Summoned for the first time.
Yuya: (Does he mean…)
Yuya's thoughts were interrupted as Ryuga continued.
Ryuga: Since Bahamut is Special Summoned from the Extra Deck, then his full power will be unleashed! BURST MODE!
Yuya: Burst Mode!?
Bahamut's body started being covered in blue electricity. The black parts on his body are being covered by it and so are his wings as his eyes glowed pure blue with power!
Ryuga: Bahamut's original Attack Points now increase to 4500!
Bahamut: (Roar)...!

Everyone was surprised at how powerful Bahamut has become.
Sora: No way! His Original Attack changed!?
Gong: That Dragon is an absolute powerhouse now!
Ryuga: And his power will increase even further! Since Bahamut was Special Summon from the Extra Deck, my Platinum Priestess will give him a 1000 power boost while Rune-Eyes loses 500 Attack Points!
Platinum Priestess Dragon glowed as she gave power to Bahamut, while weakening Rune-Eyes.

Bahamut gathered energy in his maw and fired an even more powerful beam!
Yuya saw another Action card and jumped from Rune-Eyes to grab it.
Yuya: I'll activate the Action Spell Evasion! Now your attack is negated!
However, Rune-Eyes didn't move as he was currently frozen in fear from the massive beam attack, to Yuya's surprise.
Yuya: Rune-Eyes!?
However, in a matter of seconds, Rune-Eyes was engulfed by the beam and destroyed, sending Yuya flying to his back and losing all his Life Points.

Ryuga Wins!
Bahamut and the field vanished while Zuzu and everyone were confused at why the Action card failed to work.
Tata: I don't understand… Why didn't that Action card negate the attack?
Ryuga then explained why.
Ryuga: You see, when Bahamut goes Burst Mode, an increase in power isn't the only thing he gains. He also can't be destroyed by Effect or be affected by the opponents abilities.
Everyone was shocked to hear that.
Zuzu: No way!
Sora: Since Evasion can affect Bahamut's attack it's why the Action Spell failed!
Sora now made sense on why the Action card failed.
Gong: Like Gong already said, that Dragon is an absolute powerhouse!
Back with Yuya, the boy was on his back as he couldn't believe what happened.
Yuya: I lost…
Yuya had never been hit hard until Declan appeared with his Armaggedons. He sat up only to notice Ryuga reached a hand out to him.
Yuya: Huh?
Ryuga: Heh. Thanks for an incredible Duel, Yuya. Fusion Summoning 2 Dragons like that was incredible!
Yuya smiled as he grabbed Ryuga's hand and was pulled up.
Yuya: Thanks! But your Dragon really is something!
Ryuga: He can only do that if he's summoned from the Extra Deck. Honestly this is the first time Bahamut has gone all out!
Yuya: For real!?
Before Yuya could continue, Skip interrupted him while Zuzu and the others came.
Skip: YUYA! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU LOST!
Skip was bawling his eyes out while everyone sweatdropped.
Zuzu: Dad…
Allie was a little sad as she looked at Ryuga.
Allie: So… does that mean you wouldn't be joining our School?
Ryuga looked at everyone in silence, seeing in their faces how much they wanted him not only as a student, but as a friend as well.
Ryuga: So… Where do I sign up?
Everyone: Huh!?
Everyone was surprised at what Ryuga asked.
Zuzu: But I thought we needed to beat you in order to get you to join us?
Ryuga: I never said that. I said that if you could prove the strength and determination of your School, then I would consider joining. I made that decision the moment Yuya and Rune-Eyes beat Bahamut.
Skip was beyond overjoyed the moment he heard this.
Skip: REALLY!? YOU'LL JOIN!? THAT'S GREAT!
Skip was getting uncomfortably close as he grabbed Ryuga's shoulders, only to be slapped off the head by an irritated Zuzu's fan.
Zuzu: DAD! Control yourself!
Everyone laughed at this and Ryuga joined as well.
Bahamut and the other Dragons appeared as they looked at the happy scene.
Blue-Eyes: I'm so happy for you, Ryuga! You never had Human friends back at home!
Red-Eyes: Perhaps being here wouldn't be so bad after all.
Bahamut said nothing as he just smiled while watching Ryuga interact with Yuya and Zuzu.
Bahamut: (Things are bound to get interesting from now on.)
School time was over as everybody headed back home. Sans for Yuya, Zuzu, and Ryuga.
Yuya: Say, Ryuga, you said that you got your Pendulum cards the same way as I did?
Ryuga: Yes. It happened in a Duel when I was cornered and had no way to make a comeback.
Yuya: It's strange. That happened to me too.
Zuzu: I don't know what to make of this. Cards don't change like that.
Knowing that there's no use thinking about it, Ryuga started heading out.
Ryuga: Anyway, I better go to the Mo… Oh…
Zuzu: What's wrong, Ryuga?
Ryuga turned around and gave a sheepish smile.
Ryuga: Well, I previously rented a Motel. But since the Leo Institute is after me for some reason, I have no place to go to sleep.
Yuya and Zuzu felt bad for Ryuga, until Yuya had an idea.
Yuya: I know! How about you come at my place!
Ryuga… Huh?

At the Control Room, the Operators were working in monitoring every Duel around the City. Declan was sitting there analyzing some of the screens until Claude came with a computer tablet in hand.
Claude: Excuse me, Mr. President.
Declan: What is it, Claude?
Claude: It seems that our Mystery Duelist has just signed up as a Student of You Show.
Declan adjusted his glasses as he heard this.
Declan: I see. Still, it doesn't matter if he joins You Show or our Institute, it doesn't change our plans.
Claude nodded as he agreed with Declan.
Declan: Did you find any more information about our Mystery Duelist now that he's registered?
Claude: Yes, although we don't have much information about him, we did get his name: Ryuga Shirogane.
Now this caught Declan off guard as he turned to Claude.
Declan: Shirogane? Does that mean he's related to him?
Claude: I'm sorry to say this, sir. But even with his name we still haven't been able to find any info on him.
Declan grabbed Claude's tablet as he looked at Ryuga's picture.
Declan: I think It's better to visit an old friend.
