"Alright, Danny, if that is your real name," Lloyd continued. Cole rolled his eyes. "Riddle me this: Why did your organization want Jay's memory machine?"
Pinky leaned back in her chair, a smirk playing on her lips. "Because of the power it holds."
"Power?" Cole repeated, raising an eyebrow.
"Think about it," Pinky said. "With that machine, you could hold the memories of anyone in Ninjago. You could use that information for your own gain, or even sell it to the highest bidder."
Lloyd and Cole exchanged a look. It made sense, but it also made their situation even more dangerous. If Pinky's organization had access to all of Ninjago's memories, they could use it to control the world.
"We're not going to let that happen," Lloyd said firmly.
Pinky shrugged and went silent.
"Wow, Nya? Long time, no see. I've heard a lot about you on the news!"
"Oh, well, you know. Someone's gotta keep the city safe, and I'm not gonna let the boys have all the fun," Nya stared at the face, trying to place it.
"Ha, yeah, girl power and all that. Who's the little guy?"
"Just babysitting for family," Nya replied, adjusting the hood of her sweatshirt over her head.
The man smiled. "Quite a coincidence seeing you here. And with Kai, no less."
Nya stared at him, realization slowly dawning on her. She eyed his brown leather bomber jacket and the hat he had been wearing when she saw him earlier today. A chill ran down her spine as she realized who he really was. He was the driver of the car that had abandoned Pinky.
He must have noticed Nya's sudden change in demeanor because he chuckled knowingly, "Ahh, I see you recognize me now."
He leaned forward with a leering grin.
Nya tightened her grip on Kai's stroller handle, steeled her gaze, and asked, "What do you want?"
"A trade, samurai. If you give us the memory machine, we'll restore your brother to his true age," he said, holding out a dark-colored business card.
"Why would I agree to that when I just bought Tomorrow's Tea?" Nya asked confidently. She slipped the paper in her pocket without even a glance at it.
The man laughed. "Try it and see what happens. You think some little potion would work against a curse like that? You don't know what you're up against, samurai."
Nya frowned, a bit less sure of herself. Still, she wasn't going to give that machine away to some strange organization. Her mind raced with the horrible possibilities. A machine like that… it held the key to the entire world's secrets. She needed to think this over, consult with Sensei Wu and her team. She turned and started to push the stroller in another direction.
"Suit yourself then. Enjoy raising the little fireball. If you change your mind, give us a call."
"Hey, nindroid," Jay called after Zane before he could leave the room. "How bad is that energy you sense? You think it'll explode in my face if I try to hack it?"
"The probability for that is… 0.000-"
"Alright, so slim then," Jay interrupted, "Let's power this sucker on and see if we can figure out any information on this organization."
"Jay, I would advise caution. Just because the probability of an explosion is low does not mean this is without risk."
"Yeah, yeah, I know. That's why you're here- if anything goes wrong, you know."
Jay stood back as the laptop powered on.
"It's got a password. I mean, why wouldn't it?" Jay said, a bit embarrassed. "Do you want to… you know, take over?"
Zane smiled slightly. "Of course."
Jay left Zane to do it as he heard Nya's voice in the other room.
